Problems with WiFi Connectivity Since the Last Update.... - Galaxy Tab 10.1 General

Guys,
I updated my tab a few days ago. Now the market looks different but unfortunately I'm facing another irritating problem which I have no clue how to solve.
Every time that I turn off the tab, and let it be idle for 10 minutes, when I turn it back on, the WiFi icon will show no bars - which translates into no internet connectivity. That happens while the WiFi button is still pressed (green in the pop-up menu). In order for the device to connect to the net I need to turn the WiFi OFF and than ON and it works.
I checked the WiFi sleep configuration and they are set to "never turn it off" I also rebooted the device but with no change.
Please let me know what to do... as this thing sometimes just drives me crazy.
Thanks.

Flash a custom rom bro. Otherwise you are stuck with Samsung's awesome bugs. If you don't want to flash a custom rom there isn't really much you can do about it considering you're not rooted. What did you update to? KMP???

I did the regular Samsung update -the latest one that was released a couple of says ago. The problem with rooting is losing the coverage I have for insuring the device... which I'm reluctant to do. I'm sure it has a solution somewhere...

Yes I confirm.
This "reconnect" issue is being discussed on many forums with no solutions yet. (except custom ROM)

Wifi issues?

After I got the touchwiz update and the second smaller one my wifi is messed up. It doesn't stay connected once the tablet is left alone for a couple hours. The signal strength color turns to white instead of blue when it does this. To remedy I have to turn the wifi on and off on the tab. Anyone else with this issue?
I am not seeing this issue. Have you tried a factory reset yet?
check to see if you have wifi set to never sleep (in advances settings). i had similar issues and setting it to never turn off worked for me. no battery drain issues with that setting either.

Thats bugging me too. Not always but from time to time I see "No internet connection" when the tablet is left alone. Before the updates I never had this. The other issue is wifi roaming. To get connected again I have to push power button, sometimes unlock screen, even sometimes it waits until the wifi settings screen. Dumb!
Ya I have it set to never turn off. I would hate to have to factory reset it and lose all my settings and Apps got a ton of stuff on this bad boy.

Apps are easily re-downloadable. If you're rooted then install Titanium Backup and back up all your apps with settings.
Do you have aan older router? I have the same problem (I have to turn wifi on/off if I leave the tab alone for 20+ min) but only at my office where my router is a bit older. At home with my brand new Linksys I have no issues.
My wifi is set to never sleep btw...

WiFi issue - Disables itself

Rooted Samsung S4 MDL ROM OUDhs SWM Touch Recovery v1.0.3.5
This problem may have started about 11 days ago when for the first time my phone ran out of battery on me. (Had used the NAV a lot that day). I'm not sure if it is connected or not. I'm not sure when I first noticed WiFi was turned off. I think it was over the weekend, but who knows.
Problem: When I leave an area where I am connected to WiFi it disables WiFi and will not reconnect anywhere until I turn WiFi back on. When it detects the loss of the WiFi signal it will show the list of Access points it sees. I don't see it that often because usually it is in my pocket. I just watched it once or twice to see what happens as I drove away from work or home. It will go on to AT&T mobile data and stay on it even if I am in an area with a saved WiFi connection (such as home or work). I essentially have to remember to turn on WiFi anytime I get home or to work.
While looking for a problem I found a setting in the WiFi settings section under advanced. The setting is Check for Internet service "Auto switch between Wi-Finetworks and mobile networks" This was unchecked. Last night I checked it. I figured it may have unchecked itself or something when I ran out of battery last week. Well this didn't help. When I got to work this morning I still had to toggle on the WiFi.
Any ideas?
FYI, I am still on stock ROM. Anytime an update comes down it downloads it, if I reboot, it won't install so that is a good thing. I still have root and SU.
The autoswitch would do it. When you turned the auto switch setting back on did you do a full reboot? Sometimes that's the only way some settings will take action properly, even if it doesn't tell you too.

I didn't do a full reboot after changing it last night. i did this morning however after checking which recovery I had for sure... so I guess I'll find out if that took care of it when I leave work in a few hours.

[Q] Lollipop WiFi issues - takes long time to turn on or not turning on at all

I had CM11 on my Nexus 4 and did a full wipe, then flashed the official Lollipop image (using flash-all.sh script). The process went smooth, without any problems.
Now, I am having WiFi issues. When I turn on WiFi from quick settings it changes the icon, but doesn't connect to the network yet. If I try to access WiFi settings it opens them up, but I can see only the actionbar and a blank white screen. No networks shown. Sometimes I even get "The app is not responding dialog". It sits like this for about 30-60 seconds and after that it connects to the network and I am able to access WiFi settings.
Sometimes I can't turn WiFi on at all. Quick settings don't change the WiFi icon to the ON state. If I try to turn it on from the Settings, the switch does literally nothing - not even "Turning WiFi on..." shows up.
I tried to reflash the system - still get these issues. Tried reflashing just the radio module - didn't fix it. No idea what to do. KitKat worked just fine.
Does anyone else have similar problems?
Same issues, but on a Nexus 10.
I have exactly the same issues as you, but on a Nexus 10. Running LRX21P 5.0 Lollipop.

I used Wugfresh 1.9.6
Downloaded and installed LRX21T
Did a complete wipe (cache and factory reset)
Did a selective restore of ~75 apps from Google backup
Played with the machine for hours.
Rebooted, now got no wifi
Anyone suggest a workaround?
EDIT: I came across this post in the Nexus 5 Thread , where he suggests changing your router's channel to something below 12. I changed mine from 13 to 8 and now wifi seems to be working.
EDIT2: Sadly the above was a red herring. The problem seems more complex. Hopefully Google will release a fix soon

I don't think my problem depends on the available WiFi networks. But thanks for the response.
I have the exact same issues, Wifi doesn't turn on at all. It doesn't matter if I press the quick settings button or the button in the menu. It says Wifi on, but nothing happens. After the screen goes dark, Wifi turned itself off again.
Any suggestions? Thank you!

I'm having the exact same issue. Wiped with ADB and flashed LRX21T factory image from Google's website. No error codes during flash.
Wifi is great - if you leave it on all the time. As soon as it turns off, it will NOT turn on. I get no error message, no timeout like it usually does when Wifi isn't working properly, no crash report. Nothing. Just a stalled Wifi acting like it's turning on. If I exit Wifi settings page, and come back, it shows as being off. Turn it on, and it just hangs the same way.
So frustrating.
It's for sure not the network I'm on, as it also doesn't turn on when I'm not near Wifi, or when I'm at a friend's house. Rebooting the phones makes the Wifi work again...until it turns off for ANY reason. Then we're back at square 1.
I'm having this same issue...
My WiFi seems to turn itself off. Then there is no way I can get it to turn back on unless I reboot the phone.
Very frustrating.
I have the same issue.I sideloaded the OTA and everything went great,no errors during the installation.I was on stock 4.4.4.
When I turn on the Wifi it takes around 30 sec to connect to a network. If i click on the Wifi menu in the setting it usually freezes or I get a black screen. After that Wifi works fine, but another thing I noticed it doesn't remember new networks.I don't know if a factory reset would help...
Anyone find a solution yet? Did a factory reset eliminate the problem for somebody?
I got the same thing. Currently, I'm using Power Toggles to do the on/off setting.

Are you saying that Power Toggles fix the problem?
I'm facing a different issue. Whether I have WiFi on or off, it always appears active in the battery usage stats ('scanning always available' is off)
WiFi was off when the screen was off from about 3 am to 2 pm.

I am having the same issue. very frustrating. it was working perfectly last night on my home network, but now it wont connect to my work network. it has the same issues as everyone else. the wifi toggle will turn on, but it will not show any networks. then after a couple of seconds it will turn itself off.
^^i am having that issue as well. the battery usage stat page is showing wifi as on even though it is off.
Have the same issue. After some standby time, turning Wifi on again, it showed me networks where I am not close to anymore and didn't show me the actual networks where I am right now. This seems to be a serious bug that needs fixing. I don't want to reboot my phone to fix it. Didn't Google delayed the Lollipop-Update because of some Wifi issues?
I have all the symptoms listed in this thread. I filed a bug report too: https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=80028&q=LRX21T
Found this thread when this problem popped up for me after flashing the factory images one by one. Might try to find a source-built ROM using a later version to see if it got fixed.

Wi-Fi won't turn on after phone sleeps, sometimes

Hi!
My n9005 works perfectly fine, but SOMETIMES in standby when I wake the phone up, I notice Wi-Fi is turned off, while it previous it was on.
When I try to move the knob thing to turn on Wi-Fi it just does the animation and stays like it's trying to turn it on, but doesn't.
I have to restart the phone every time to make Wi-Fi work again.
This doesn't happen a lot of the time, but it's annoying.
Is this a common thing? What could I do to fix it?
Thank you for your time.
Open wifi menu and go to option.
then go to advanced, there is and option "keep wifi on during sleep". Make sure it says "always on"
The problem isn't that.
That's how it is by default.
I would be able to turn wifi on after it turned off if that was the problem.
In my case I need to restart the phone to be able to.
Factory reset and or rom reinstall

I did that

I did a factory reset and Odin flash of the same exact ROM that I had by downloading from Sammobile.
The problem is so random and seems to only happen when the phone sleeps or is charging. Sometimes it works for a few days, sometimes it will happen, no WiFi until a restart.
EDIT:
Maybe I should download another ROM from sammobile and try that?
Does that trip Knox?
I have a [Austria (T-Mobile) MAX] ROM (PDA:N9005XXUGBOK6
CSC:N9005MAXGBOK1) atm, I bought the Note 3 used and it had that. But I live in Serbia, maybe I should try the Serbian one in example for my carrier?
The WiFi problem is just annoying at most, it doesn't happen often, but I shouldn't have to restart the phone to have WiFi.
As its an old old problem google it .

I did,
Ive found people that the wifi icon is grayed out.
Thats not the issue here.
Please help me out here. Tomorrow Ill be opening up the phone with a friend to check for water damage if any. Since I bought it used.
If I dont have to do that, please reply.
BUMP
JJEgan has disabled private messages, so I can't really contact him on a solution or what he meant.
For anyone interested, I solved my problem on my own.
Enter *#0011#, press menu key, tap on WiFi tab, tap on the power saving button so it's off.
I didn't experience the same issue ever again.

Wifi connectivity issues

All day today I have been having Wi-Fi connectivity issues. None of the other devices in my home are experiencing this. It is just my OnePlus 8 Pro that keeps dropping Wi-Fi and refuses to load games. While I'm on Facebook or any other app it refuses to load. It doesn't matter what frequency I am on or what channel I am on. It is not my service provider I have already called and asked. I think something is messed up. So is anyone else having Wi-Fi problems on the OnePlus 8 Pro?
Do you have a private DNS active?
Same here

Mine will only stay connected for short periods. If I put it down and leave it for a while 9 times out of 10 it's swapped me back to mobile data. I've reached out to OnePlus to see if it's a fault or a known problem they're working on.
This is actually happening to me as well. 10.5.8 stock rooted. I see that exclamation point next to the wifi signal sometimes and nothing else in the house is having issues.
Okay so this is what you have to do to fix the problem. Click onto your Wi-Fi and let it go into the settings then swipe up on your screen and go into the app info. Clear your cache. Turn your Wi-Fi off and back on and it should work just fine
I have a much better fix. Change your MAC privacy setting to "Use device MAC" and change from default "Use randomized MAC". Wa la I haven't had a drop all day. This has been driving me crazy!
It might actually be a really simple problem with a simple solution, just i need to see a screenshot with the diagnostics, or the troubleshoot from the device why doesn't it want to keep the connection steady. You can actually learn all these things related to the wifi and some little programming things really easily, it is not that tough, trust me. I took the cisco programming course from SPOTOclub.com, during this pandemic, and in one month i was already an expert in the wireless connection and the LAN and so on and so forth.
If you're having Wi-Fi connection problems or see an Wi-Fi icon with an exclamation point Wi-Fi problem, try the solutions below:
Make sure Wi-Fi is on. Then turn it off and on again to reconnect.
Make sure Airplane mode is off. Then turn it on and off again to reconnect.
Press your phone's power button for a few seconds. Then, on your screen, tap Restart Restart. If you don't see "Restart," press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds, until your phone restarts.
