Sprint 3G down

I live in Maryland and as of 11:30 I have no 3g. Does anyone know if there is a way to check on 3g outages? Thankfully I have roam control and am able to at least use verizon's 1x. I need 3g!

hi there i too am experiencing issues with data, im in metro dt area
hopefully it IS the network, and i didnt fry my radio or something

New Jersey here and my 3G is working on sprint.
Try rebooting?

I'm in arlington and 3g is working here, sorry if that doesn't help but its close to maryland

Rebooted, switched radio on and off no luck. My radio is good because when I switch to verizon's tower using roam control I get 1x data. Slow but it something.

Was a known issue, though I was told it was only supposed to affect EVO's 3g. I'll inquire tomorrow, but I doubt I'll get anywhere.

Mine went down to here in Cincinnati OH, right in the middle of streaming the game. (4g picked it right back up though)
I had full bars, and without moving I had nothing for a good 10 minutes before deciding to switch to the battery-draining 4g.

thanks. I called sprint yesterday and first tier support tried to insist I hard reset my Epic,even though i told them I have three Epics and an Evo and were all seeing same problem. I called second tier directly and they told me there were network issues and not to reset.

For future reference - do you have a direct number for them, or is it the usual "I want to speak to level two"?

Even Sprint employees don't have a direct line for them, they got rid of that last year. That being said, the EVOs were having data connectivity issues, and somehow it expanded into the Epic, Moment and Hero as well, but in a more limited scope.

It's called "Clear" or "Clear Wire" on the market. Not sure the mapping program is the greatest as it shows Redondo Beach not having any clear signal at all, but the Pacific Ocean off its coast has a big area of solid coverage.

Findlay Ohio 4g turned on!

Idk who all lives here or near Findlay, but Findlay has been having 4g off and on recently! Go to clear.com and view the map and its sure lit up green almost there!

I'm just kidding, that's great news! Hopefully they can start getting this 4G coverage to more cities because I'm getting tired of hearing about how great this 4G service is! I have a 4G phone but only get to use 3G...WTF!...lol

Clear is the Wimax provider that Sprint uses for its 4g service. Sprint owns like 52% of Clear.
clear.com/coverage is the best site for Sprint's 4g coverage as sprint doesn't update their map until an area becomes a "Clear City"

Man for the last 4 months the network has been trashed and I'm tired of the b/s lies and I wanna leave I just can't afford etf on both lines plus last bill, then switch to another carrier, if anyone here knows how I can use a roaming app to force roaming, that way sprint will just terminate my lines etf free? But still not rack up massive charges. And will the esn numbers be bad then?

Sprint is in a transition phase to LTE and in the process has stopped improving backhaul and deploying new 4G. If any Sprint employee wants to disagree with this I would invite you to leak some info, because we haven't had a network related news update since December 2010 that mentions there network status.

so if we want out of sprint we can flash to vz prl list and they kick you off i am sooooo done with sprint love the phone but omg sprint come the hell on i cant even get 1 bar or .56 mbps in my town and thats on a good day most times i get .17 mbps last time i looked .56 is dial up speed

I still don't understand how the let go works but I'm done is all I know, I'm half tempted to just say screw em and not pay! That's how mad I am about their BS network

They'll kick you off if you roam more than 80% of the time but it'll take a couple of months before they decide to do that. I'm in great sprint coverage and I only pay 30 bucks a month for service so I can't complain... they'll never take this plan from me!!!

I hear ya! My 3g service blows!! I went to the coast a couple months ago i knew 4g wasnt gunna work but damn my 3g speed was retarded not even reaching 100 kbs i felt like i went back in time to some sort of dial up phone lmfao! But yeah also when i go down my street to a certain area it always tells me international roaming!! Wtf is that! I didnt know i had a border on my street hah

Still dreaming bout faster speeds.
I laugh when I see people saying they have slow speeds at 3 mbps down and 1-1.5 mbps up. And I get .15-.3 kbs down and up speed is usually double that, on a good day.

PRL
(Preferred Roaming List)
The PRL is a list of information that resides in the memory of some kinds of digital phones. It lists the radio frequencies the phone can use in various geographic areas.
The part of the list for each area is ordered by the bands the phone should try to use first. Therefore it's a kind of priority list for which towers the phone should use.
The PRL helps determine which home-network towers to use, and also which towers belonging to other networks to use in roaming situations (areas where the home network has no coverage.) When roaming, the PRL may instruct the phone to use the network with the best roaming rate for the carrier, rather than the one with the strongest signal at the moment.
Since a PRL tells the phone "where" to search for a signal, as carrier networks change over time, an updated PRL may be required for a phone to "see" all of the coverage that it should, both with the home network and for roaming.
