I've noticed that there is a setting to hide the combined bar in CM9 for full screen apps, which is awesome, but how do you get out of full screen once you're there? Or is this feature still not fully baked?

The program HideBar (http://ppareit.github.com/HideBar/) works on our transformers with ICS!
HideBar allows to hide the systembar. This can be done from the notification area. To show the systembar again, one can swipe from the bottom (or from both bottom and top, this is a setting). It is possible to start HideBar at boot, and it is even possible to run in a kiosk mode!
Thanks for the good news but they said it removes the wallpapper? The fix is to use a live (animated?) wallpaper. Is it impacting the CPU and power consumption?

It kills a process in systemUI which also controls the wallpaper
The work around is to use a live wallpaper since that is a separate process, hence not killed. So you get wallpaper wizardry (think I got the name right) which is a live wallpaper app that displays one static image. Appearance wise it seems like you just have a normal wallpaper picture.
I know because I've followed this issue for the app Gesture Control. It's got a thread here at XDA. One of the things you can have it do based on a gesture is hide/show the bar. Implemented the same as hide bar, killing the process or starting it so it has the same problem.

Sounds cool, but since it removes the wallpaper I'll stick with the option integrated into the ROMs :-D

I think Pauler1 means the menu icon in the upper right corner beside the drawer icon , not a regular icon.
My solution has been to switch to the Apex launcher, which has also better performing for me.
Of course, I'm speaking from Trebuchet on CM9 and AOKP, so I could be off base with Paranoid Android.

One irritant going from an ICS tablet to the Jellybean N7 is that many games insist on hiding the top notification bar, despite them having no need for the extra space. This was of course not a problem on ICS as the bottom bar was always accessible. Is there anything I can do, whether requiring root or a custom ROM, to block certain apps from hiding the bar?

just a few cool things also a tip to get rid of Amazon slide lock screen First off you need root then download magic locker, titanium backup install both of these when your done simply convert magic locker to system app set it as default launcher then simply get a theme as shown in the picture is my lockscreen and status bar for the status bar download jellybean status bar from the market icons will change from the stock ones also if you want 4.2 keyboard simply download jellybean 4.2 keyboard from market and set your keyboard language as English (UK) or English (US) it should be right at the top of list also for settings it should be the one under Japan Hopefully this helps people customize there KFHD 7's or 8.9s as this should work on all Kindles

Hello, everyone!
I like tablet ui very much.
I like small dpi ,( such as120), I think it's comfotable for me.
There are two ways to get tablet ui.
First ,you can use xposed and app settings .But it's boring to set every app to dpi120.
Second, you can use R.E. to edit build.prop .There are two places to edit ,edit them all
I know the tw launcher will die after that. So I delete it.
When I making calls , the sceen become black.
But two different ways come to different results.
Using xposed I get a small status bar at the top. All the bar seems right.
Using R.E. I get a big status bar at the bottom. The color of the bar is white, I don't like it. I think it should be transparent or black. And the virtual keys are repeated.(we already have them)
I never get a comfotable Tablet UI so far.
I have tried to edit systemUI.apk all day, but it failed. I am not good at this.
I also tried to use xblast to change the color of the status bar, nothing changed.
Could someone make such a Mod for us?Big thanks to you!!!
I got tablet ui by using phab7 from xposed modules but the navigation bar is white wich is so ugly

I use textdroider DPI in the market and set at 130. Never had any issues and use it for all my devices. I don't even get play store issues.
