[APP] MRKAlarmEX - Agenda / Auto silent / Alarm [UPDATED 23 July] - Android Software Development

Let me introduce you my new application
Market link
MRKAlarm is not just another alarm clock for Android, it brings all new options you will find nowhere else:
- silence period definition: when an alarm is triggered, you can define a period of time when the phone will be automatically put in silent / vibrate / lowered mode
- link with Google Calendar: say you have a day off, or you work with a schedule, should it be defined on a Google Calendar of your account and MRKAlarm be set up, you will not have to switch the alarm on / off anymore. MRKAlarm will be able to adapt and ring or not on the correct time.
- alarm on low battery: when the battery get low, an alarm can be automatically triggered.
Plus it brings all the commonly found features such as:
- MP3 playlist for your alarm
- Shake to snooze
- Progressive volume

From my T-Mobile G2 ...

Oh sorry, I didn't get it :/
I updated first post with a link!

Let's try it Thanks

Get the same Error, on my Prime and on my Sensation with AR HD 6.2.1 (ICS and Sense 3.6)

Hi!
I'll check this asap
Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks for your app!
The link with gCalendar is a great idea and I think you've made a great start.
The first thing I'm missing is the option to set the default for new alarms. Say I want a certain song to be my standard alarm. Now, every time I add an alarm I have to change the settings to that song and rising volume. If you could add that option that would be great.
Keep it going.

Hi!
Thanks for your feedback.
You may in fact duplicate an alarm from the main list by long clicking on it.
It will copy it fully, and you may then modify anything you want ;-)

Awesome! That should do the trick.

Thanks
Thanks for sharing your work, nice job.

Hey - is it possible to have the alarm play through the headphone jack only with this alarm clock? I have not found a single alarm clock that will easily allow me to do this - I wake up super early and don't want to bother my roommate!
UPDATE:
Oooohhh this is a BIGGIE - BE SURE TO ADD SUPPORT ASAP FOR NON-STANDARD DENSITIES! Cannot download from the market right now.

Still doesn't work for me - even after the update

is there a way to confirm that it has found the agenda in my gcalendr?

Do you mean being sure the alarm is correctly triggered?
Cause you should see the next alarm on your lock screen...
Maybe I could add something on the main screen (where the alarm list is displayed) and/or create a widget...?

Any new ALARM CLOCK programs out there?

Hey guys,
Anyone know of any new alarm clock programs out there that have a large snooze button so i don't accidently turn off the alarm like i always do now with pocket travel alarm?
Thanks
JW
When you say new, have you tried all the old ones already?
There are a number of good options out there...

I tried it for a few times and I do quite like it over the PocketWakeup, due to its (travel alarm) nice looking interface. However, I went back to PocketWakeup anyway. Reasons:
(1) Travel alarm does not include a vibrate feature
(2) There is always a thread/process of travel alarm running at the background, which I'm not sure if helps on my slow Charmer processing power and/or the battery life.

I'm using that now and I always press the stop button on accident. So its not working out...
This is a good alarm & its free, never let me down yet. http://www.freewareppc.com/clock/alarmclock.shtml
Don't know of any new ones. I use the alarm from MortPlayer. It is very basic, but does the job. I can use my MP3 as the alarm. I had it fail once because my phone didn't recognize my media folder on the storage card. It wasn't isolated to MortPlayer so I can't blame it on the program.

Yep, I've used that one too and have no complaints about it. It seems to work pretty well and has never let me down either.
I have been using MTUX AlarmX for a couple years. It isn't quite up to date (doesn't support landscape for example). And it's pretty basic (no MP3s, no repeating alarms) but then the interface is also simple. It is easy to set up to two alarms, alarm sounds, End or Snooze an alarm. I periodically try other programs, but always come back to this.

*Updated* KingFetty CallCalendar2

Thought I would start a new thread on this project
I have taken KingFetty's app and modified it to have more functionality.
CallCalendar2 Changelog
=======================
3/26/2007 12:16PM
* Added menu's
* Configurable to optional minimizing on startup. (Running it again will restore the app.)
* Added a list box to show the records.
* Added the option of recording missed calls as well.
* Added notification. Using WM notification services, it can optionally show a popup when a tracked event occurs. I used this for debugging, but some may like it.
3/27/2007 12:16PM
* Added call time tracking
If you have any suggestions for additions, let me know.

thanks,
Ron1n are you still working on this?
There are a few people after this and the link in your sig is down. Any chance of
putting a new link up?
Cheers for all your work on this app I look forward to using it.
Rochey
sry, there's big confusion with that app now - which one is that new one?
will be newer one?
it seems to be useful thing imo...
I have not been updating it recently but I may have a newer one than my last post. I will update the link shortly, my domain is being renewed today and should be up by tomorrow. If you have any suggestions for updates, let me know.

Can your notification be set to be repeating so you keep getting reminded of the missed call? Reason I ask is I use TodayAgenda and the entries do not appear to show up right away.
Cheers For the Link!
Cheers for the link Ron1n.
I have had some problems with your version (callcalendar2). I am getting multiple entries for for phone calls and also some of the phone calls are saying that they have lasted for 12-15 hours.
I have now reverted back to the original callcalendar.
If there is anything you would like me do (testing or get logs or something) then I would be happy to help.
Hopefully speak soon.
Rochey
This is a great application.
On my Touch it seems to work fine. I would have a couple of additional options if possible:
1. I would like to be able to hide the 1st screen that pops up on boot. This boot screen is really irritating as sometimes it lingers for ages as other processes execute in the background. If I could avoid it altogether with a registry entry...
2. I would like missed calls to be added to the calendar with a configurable forward time. So if I miss the call it will pop up in 5 minutes and remind me that X called. Another registry option would be great...
Apart from this it seems to work really well.
Kind Regards,
Sam.
Is there a way to donate?
Any news R0N1N?
Hi ya R0N1N, any news on the newer version of your app?
I look forward to it.
Rochey
it will be nice if you could give the option to add or not the call/number to calandar..
instead of have it automaticly add to the calandar.
by the end of the day my calendar look like I have meeting till the nest year.

Has anyone found the solution for this problem?
I went back to the original version... it works great
Does anyone have a download link that works for the latest version of CallCalendar2?
I definitely second that. I love this app and din't even know there was a version 2 until I saw this thread.
this is a great program every since i've found out bout it i've installed it hope the creator doesn't mind me postin the cab back up
Hmmm - I still get calendar appointments that are 1 hour out
Are any of the dev guys who wrote this code around anymore?
EDIT: It seems like it's caused by the TimeZone updates MS released lately... Looks to do with the application not looking at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\TimeZones.
Thanks for the repost. Much appreciations.
Hi all,
I've rebuilt the original CallCalendar app by KingFetty in VS2008 (with hopefully a bug fix or two) and using .Net 3.5 framework.
See how you go with this
What makes this version different from the one posted a few posts up? Any changes?
Is it possible to make a version that would run as a process or service? Available versions are visible in task managers(under applications), also in QuickMenu, and I hate that...

What is the best alarm software for WM 6?

What kind of alarm are you looking for, one that plays your MP3s, or one that plays its own alarm?
-Spb Time is an ok alarm but you can find a lot more than SpbTime offers
-Alarm today is maybe the best alarm for any PPC but the today skin is just
-UGLY to deal evry day and to be the first think you hear/see @ morning
-EnAlarm is a great app and easy to deal with
I just install Pocketalarm yesterday so let me see how it works

I was going to recommend the EN Alarm app, also called Mobile Alarm Free. This is a great app...never failed since installed over a year ago. Must have insomnia. I've attached the zip file that has the cab (install first) then the "install" file within the zip. After full installation, the foreign language files can be deleted giving memory back.
i take it none of these alarm apps, wm5 or 6 will work if phone is in standby.
cant stand the built in .wav alarms :/ but my phone is in standby overnight so i have to use it.

I leave my phone on all night every night while charging and the backlight off. No harm to the battery or phone. I have the backlight turned off by using psShutXP (tapping light off).I also use it for soft re-sets and shut down (stand by). Today plug in.

The alarm will activate at the designated time as long as the phone is not completely turned off.
when you say turn light off is the screen still on? just not backlit, does it come back easy enough?
or does it just switch off the display?
thanks

The screen is black, display off. The light will come back on when the alarm goes off, or when you unplug the charging cord from the bottom.

WARNING it has been posted in this forum to not download ANY sw from "warez". Don't really know why, but it has been posted by admin and moderators.... You don't need to go to any website, where it says choose windows song file, or choose song file, tap on the box of your choice, and get your songs out of file explorer, if you have any. If you choose a MP3? from your dtorage card, tap the UP box, then quickly double tap on Storage card, double tap the song you want, tap OK, you'll see a box pop up showing your selected song..tap OK. You'll then be asked if you want this to continue. Tap yes or no, depending on what you want. You'll get the hang of it. By the way, you set the alarm time on the right side with the first 2 boxes for the hour, and the next 2 boxes for the minute. Ex: 9:00. The left side is already set.. it's the month(9) and day(5).
Here's screen shots step by step on how it's done.
dont worry i know what warez is and i wouldnt download it from there, but couldnt work out who made emalarm thats all.
thanks for the screenshots
well pocket alarm works great so far.
easy to deal with and you can choose run or sugest to run any app in your phone so you can set u an alarm to make a call an when it the time the alarm sounds and dial for you or open the dial pad choos the # or the contact and you just need to press talk, you also can run a video not just a .wma as your ringtone (videotone) I think is a great app.
I basicly want to use the build in alarm thing.. but I need more then 3 alarm clocks. can it be somehow extended to more clocks?

I hate that a lot of custom roms include task killers by default as if the Hero keeps apps open. In the 1st place. I can't stand it when I can't be sure that the browser I'm minimizing will stay open while I'll reply to an sms. x¦

[Q] Good alarms?

Currently, I use Klaxon, and I adore it. However, it periodically just stops working (the alarm will randomly not go off, and continue to not work until I uninstall and reinstall). This, of course, is a problem - Why use an alarm that fails to work?
I am looking for a new Alarm program, and was wondering if you knew of a good one?
*The default one is too quiet and lacks the snoozes I need.

Download BsB tweaks and you can set WM to have more snooze intervals.
Try G-Alarm. It is a really good one. I use it and it works fine for me. Has a good amount of alarm options on it. Hope this helps.
good alarm
I have been using g alarm for a good while and it has been really great. I like that I can set the vol to increase gradually. One complaint is that after a while the gradual increase became irregular.
I have been using SPB Time for years. It works very well. It's not free, but I think they have a demo available in the Marketplace. Worth the money, in my opinion.

+1 on G-Alarm. More reliable for me than Klaxon. I like the ability to use 2 sound files, which creates a random alarm you can't ignore!
One little quirk: be careful when setting same-day alarms, because G-Alarm defaults to the next day. You have to manually hit the back arrow on the date when setting an alarm.
+1 on G-Alarm. I have been using it since last year. It is great, you can have many alarms and set it for different times on different days, it's great because I can have different alarms for weekdays and weekends. You can also have each alarm ring for longer or shorter and you can have it so you have to answer math questions or do puzzles to turn off. Try answering 16-7 when you are half awake, it will wake you up!
