[Q] Milestone 2 Bricked? - Milestone 2 General

I wasn't sure if this was the right thread (or the right site) to post this but I am in desperate need of help D:
Long story short, I bricked my phone while trying to flash back to the stock UK Milestone 2 ROM from the CM7 ROM I had on previously
Using RSDLite 5.6, the flash completed but the phone did not turn on and the computer does not detect the phone (Although the charging light turns on when I plug it into the computer)
I'm not really sure what options I have since I've tried booting into recovery but the phone won't turn on so it isn't really getting me anywhere

Pull the battery out, insert again, and try the hold d-pad up and power to get into bootloader mode. If it manages to turn on to a dull black/grey screen with minimal backlighting it possibly is in bootloader mode, but not displaying. Then you can try to flash with rsd lite from there.
Also how was your battery level before you started all this? Make sure you don't let it drain or it just makes things more complicated
But give that a try and if it doesn't work I'll try to think of something else.

Meant to be what they use in repair centres and stuff to ressurect and flash without batteries etc. Making one of those may be the most direct way to fix this

you not brick your phone. the same thing was with me. its just plug your phone with rsd lite open and push the power button. rsd will recognize your phone and you will be able to apply another sbf.

Thanks for the replies. The reason it wasn't turning on was because of a low battery, but I went home over the weekend and charged up my battery with an external charger.
I have tried several SBF's and in one case it will get stuck in a bootloop, and in another I'll get the black screen (Where I can still flash it).
The bootlooped SBF can still get me in recovery mode, but pressing the @ symbol (or any of the keys) doesn't bring up the menu, so I'm guessing I haven't done something right or it freezes in recovery.

Possible that you are on 2.3 already?
Try to get into the bootloader, pressing up + power for a few seconds (black screen, little bit of text)
Then your phone should be detected. Then use RSD with a stockrom, matching your androidversion you are comming from.

My phone was previously on CM7, and before that was on 2.2.
I've tried several different stock ROMs, but UK ROMs are very hard to come by since Multiupload, Megaupload, and Fileserve links are broken D:

Whoops, I realised Gingerbread had a different method of getting into recovery mode - Volume + & - at the same time. D:
Ok, I think I'll be able to fix it with what you put above

Hi everybody
I have Motorola Defy, but after I plug in the usb cable to defy and PC , rsd lite 4.9, 53.1. or 5.5 doesnt recognize my device..
After plug in it shows only white led and nothing more, nothing at all...
I tried every method , but unsuccessfull...
Everytime i try tu plug in, it just shows white led, nothing more, screen is black, and PC doesnt recognize it at all...
What should I do to unbrick it ???
Pls help, I'm desperate ... Thank you
PS: I tryed every method, I searched almost everywhere
When you plug it in first make sure battery full charge then load rsd lite and under settings change it to first come first serve. I had same issue and this worked.

Have you tried entering bootloader and then connect the phone to PC? I got RSD lite recognizing my phone this way.

Have you tried my suggestion.. I had same issue.. black screen with white lite.. you need to have full battery then plug the phone in and run rsd lite with settings on first come first serve..
if
your phone does load with a full charge then hold volume up and power button to get into the bootloader menu.. after than then plug into rsd lite..
to make things easy let us know what happens after you put a batter with full charge on it.. then we can go from there..
yes , I have full battery, I set the rds lite to option firt-come-first-serve, but nothing happend
I can't get into bootloader, I can't power the phone up, I can't get into mode... Nothing
Still the same probem, still not solved, Any idea what could be with it ??
Check the drivers

try these steps..
take phone battery out and wait few seconds..
then put batter back in and hold volume up and power button for few seconds.. let go of power button and then let go of volume up button..
your phone screen will still be black and no light will be lit up..
then connect usb cable to phone then to pc.. after that you load up RSD lite with the setting of first come first serve.. you should see a line in middle of window that says.. "connected" at this point your phone might display white light ..it sometimes doesn't but as long as rsd lite shows connected your fine.. at this point you should be able to run sbf files

I tried McGyver hack, phone was connected, I did flash 2.51.1 UK version non carries, but nothing did,
On screen was:
SW update
In progrees
at RSD was Phone is being rebooted and PASS, but nothing on phone screen
Defy is working againg, but I was at the service
so using the MacGyver hack method enabled your computer to see your phone again?
I have the same problem (flashed wrong rom, phone bricked with just a black screen, flashed the same wrong rom again hoping for a different result, still bricked, read up on what was going wrong, came back the next day and my computer (including RSD Lite) could no longer see my Moto Defy. Next step i'm either going to have to (1)borrow another Moto Defy battery that is guaranteed fully charged (i have no way to check the amount of charge in mine while my Defy is out of action) or (2)cut up a USB cable and do the MacGyver hack.
1. Make sure your battery is charged.
2. Make sure you've all the latest drivers from Motorola's Website installed.
3. Make sure your RSD Lite version is atleast 4.9. I use v5 and had no problems till now.
4. Boot into bootloader mode.
5. Flash
If it doesn't work:
Try MacGyver hack.
In case you don't know what it is, search here in xda forums. You'll find it.
Update your drivers and do the same as above

Same as above worked 4 me I needed to put on the latest gb rom the non downgrade one.

Option 3 is to buy a cheap standalone wall charger for the Defy battery off eBay, like this one, to keep your battery charged between attempts to flash the phone. Gotta be less risky than the McGyver hack.
Not sure if the standalone wall charger will work, seems to me that the phone doesn't actually recognise the battery, however I have no means to test this and it's just a guess.
If it does actually detect your battery level but just can't charge it then what you listed is fine.
hope for defy with only white led light turning on. This assumes that you have already have mototola drivers and RSD lite installed.
Background : I only had defy one day when I decided to flash it with miui. I bricked on the first time with bootloops. Did research and got drivers and rsd lite. managed to find three stock t mobile roms and flashed to stock Tom, then flashed miui, since then I've been switching between miui and cm7.
Problem : After a few months of use, I decided to flash stock rom to see how the battery life would be like. Bricked it the first time with bootloops. I thought I had flashed it with wrong rom because the first time I flashed back to original rom I did not delete the roms that I thought were the original roms. So after first failure I tried to flashed with the other roms I had. after the third rom it would not go into bootloader, only white led would turn on. Tried macguiver, did not work so save your usb cable, don't mess with it ain't gonna work.
Two part solution: I realized that when I plugged phone with usb I would hear the usb tone on win 7. When to device manager and saw the other device or something like that was appearing and disappearing when I would connect and disconnect phone. I clicked it and it said Motorola device or something like that, it was sensing my defy! defy drivers were wipe out due to bad flash. I had mototola drivers so I clicked on update and searched for mototola drivers on hard drive. I had rsd lite on and it recognized the defy after driver update, even though the bootloader screen was not on and just the white led was on.
decided to flash rom that have me bootloop and it flashed it but still gave me a bootloop., by the way, the update part of bootloader showed up after a while.
Second part of solution: Please Google defy stock rom!!! googled problem and found out that the phone has a stock recovery. its the robot with the triangle exclamation mark. when you get to it you have to touch the extreme lower right hand corner of the screen to get to where you can wipe data and cache. when you start wiping data / cache you have to press on ok?? on lower left hand of the screen repeatedly until wipe is complete. then reboot and tada it boots up to stock tmo USA defy.
this is the stock rom I used : JORDN_U3_6.36.0
F Y I
if you ever try to flash a rom and it just bootloops, just go into stock recovery and wipe data and cache and you should be able to boot into android.

[Q] BRICKED- No Bootloader

Sorry if the answer is out there but I can't find it.
Here is the status of my Defy:
Tried flashing SBF with RSDlite after my recovery stopped working- install of twrp had problems- tried install new recovery- tried factory reset... and I got stuck in a bootloop.
Now RSD says "PASS", but phone wont boot. Tried taking battery out with power & volume buttons pushed, but it wont even enter that black screen bootloader.
I've tried flashing SBF again, no luck.
What can I do?
Keep trying to flash different SBF via RSD despite not getting into bootloader?
EDIT: Now not even charging light coming on even when hooked up macgyver
are you using the right kernel versions??? I flashed with a 231 version without knowing you cannot downgrade once you go higher so If I try to flash anything lower I get a error at boot or it just wont boot at all like you say. If you can try to flash the version you had on there before your problems then that would be the way to go. Or if you have tried to flash a higher version threw RSD lite then you will have to try that.
RSD lite should boot the phone for you if everything went well. I got a defy + so cant comment what SBF to flash.

if you are getting no boot what so ever try flashing a fixed sbf and starting all over again? 1.Download this SBF and Flash it
2.Root your Phone
3.Download 2nd Init 1.4.2 and Install ClockworkMod Recovery
4.Download and install this Nandroid Backup << FILE DOWN, please if you happen to have this file PM me>>
5.Enter Recovery, Wipe Data/Cache
6.After wiping, turn off your phone
7.Turn it on and get immediately into Bootloader mode
8.Flash this Fixed SBF
9.Delete Data/Cache again and reboot.
go on this link to get all of the files at the bottom of page:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982
i was running ICS CM9 on a froyo kernel...
or you can always try this way http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1618718 ??
thanks but i've been to those threads before I posted this.
RSDlite DOES NOT recognise my phone anymore after the two failed sbf flashes, and I now cannot access bootloader.
the only sign i have that anything is working is the white charging led (and thats only on usb not on charger).
is it completely screwed???
no its never screwed. You may of ran your battery flat. Search for the method to use a old USB cable and cut the end off that plugs into a device and use the red and black wires and put the red on positive and the black on the negative of your battery terminals then slide the battery in to hold the wires in place.
When you boot the phone hold down the volume up button so it goes into bootloader. Its a matter of finding the right SBF file, You may need to flash a higher version then you where using its not ideal but if it saves you from buying another phone it will be worth it.
The highest is 231 but you have to flash 2 more SBF ontop to get it to root as you cannot root it apart from using the pre rooted SBF files.
here is a list of SBF files you surly could get one to work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537
It may take you a few goes but something will work, try to flash a lower version then work your way up.
tried macgyver it, got it to show up in rsd so tried flash despite not getting into bootloader. RSD says PASS, but still can't boot.
charging light isn't showing either now, but the computer recognises the usb (when battery is hooked up macgyver style) at least. so there is hope.
do I need a new battery?
no you wont need a new battery. Dont leave the cable hard wired to the battery for extended periods as its not the ideal way to charge it and it can over charge the battery.
Your phone wont charge in the state its in with the USB cable attached that is why you need to use the macqyver way.
There will be a rom that will flash. If its being a real pain then flash one with the heighest CG version, you wont be able to flash any lower then that as you cannot downgrade once you go higher.
I have a defy + so cant comment on what SBF files to try but I am sure there is one out there that will work. Also there is a red and green lens defy so you might need the right rom for the right phone.
have you read and tried the all in one defy guide?? there is a few links to SBF files in there and there is a problems bit down the bottom with a SBF and instructions to fix problems

i did. thats when i realised things were getting bad, because it had an error...
after a failed sbf flash (i think battery died), now i can't get into stock recovery or bootloader (even when hooked up macgyver).
i'm investing $12 in a new battery, then Ill try RSD different SBFs untill one works.
Q- Does it matter if I'm not in bootloader when using RSD? rsd says 'pass' but nothing seems to change on my phone.
Q- Is it worth trying to push a new bootloader onto my phone, or is that included in SBFs?
Q- Can I hook Macgyver up a wall charger or just the computer?
Not even charging LED showing now so hoping it's just a fried battery from a wrong macgyver, and I'll flash an SBF with a new battery and it'll all be sweet
you need to be in bootloader or RSD wont see your phone
Not sure about a bootloader, the one you have should be fine. You will prob have to get the phone working to flash a new bootloader anyway. Not sure if they are in the SBF or not
You can hook up the macqyver up to the phone charger to. You shouldnt need a battery with the macqyver, You should be able to spin the battery around and use the plastic to wedge the wires into the terminals and it should still work.
I wouldnt recommend prolong use of this method as you could fry the battery or phone if done wrong or left in for extended periods. I would keep a close eye on the temp of the phone and battery.
I dont think the phone charges in bootloader at all (well at least mine didnt) I started with a battery 95% and then flashed a few SBF files and left it on thinking it was charging came back and it wouldnt show in RSD. I done the macqyver method and when I got it to work it had 6% battery so it went dead flat even though it was plugged in and white light was on.
Your battery may be fine it may just be dead flat. You will also have the same trouble with the new battery, Unless you get or have a external charger for the battery so you can charge it outside of the phone. It should also tell you if the battery is faulty.
fixed!!!!
macgyver hook up, flashed tmobile usa latest sbf, despite not having bootloader showing... and it worked!
was the 4th sbf i had tried.
so to that other bloke with the same problem, good luck, keep trying!!!
thats good to know told you it was a matter of trying to find the right SBF.
I went threw the same problem and flashed maybe 10 SBF before one worked but now it seems I can use any as long as the CG version is the same. I flashed ICS and loving it so far.
now when I can get the battery to charge i'll be happy!
otherwise i'll just carry a laptop & spliced usb cable around in my pocket so i can use my phone
glad to know RSD works even with a black screen showing no bootloader!
so the battery wont charge??? try to charge it with the macqyver method for 30 mins. But it should charge if the phone is off connecting the charger up to it, Unless you get the battery with ? in the centre. You may of stuffed your battery but try to charge it first.
I have a 12v charger that hooks up to a car battery and I can use that as a last resort only battery it wont do without a attachment is a lipo. I think it can do lion fine.
Edit: Sorry I should say if you get the battery with the ? in the centre its more to do with the software then the hardware. I have ICS 4.0.4 and could only charge to 83% I copied over many battd.bin files one worked (but got to 93%) the rest came up with the battery with ? in the centre so it wouldnt charge and when I booted it said battery was full but it was only 60%. I found a fix for it (this is for defy) it was a CM7 fix and I am using CM9 but it now charges to 100% and works fine.
You should be able to flash another version with the same CG version. if you are not sure post the link up in another thread asking for the version and people will tell you. As if your on froyo then I have no clue of there versions and what can and cant be done.

Flash Different SBF, because you were using low version SBF

Bricked my Defy and couldn't go to recovery mode

One day my defy (which used MIUI Pikachu) didn't boot up properly. It showed me a MIUI splash screen. What I did was to go to bootloader mode and installed the CEE Nordic fixed SBF I found on the net. After flashing, the phone only gave me a motorola logo. I patiently waited for 15 minutes or so but nothing happened.
I took a research on the net and found out that I had to put my phone into stock recovery mode. But when I turned off my phone (Had to do it by a battery pull), pushed the volume down button and pushed the power button afterwards, the screen was still black.
So, what mistakes did I made, are there any ways to fix my phone without bringing it to service center. I think the problem lies in the sbf files, it's only 37mb while a "normal" sbf from droid-developers is about 200mb.
By the way, if my phone is a korean one, can I use a nordic version ?
yes you can fix it. take the battery out then put it back in after a while to make sure its off.
hold down volume up and push the power on. This will get you into bootloader, It may not show anything on the screen but if you hook up the USB cable and open RSD lite it should say its connected.
Now from here you just have to find the right SBF file to flash. This may take 1 go or 10 goes (took me about 10) till I found one that works and it booted straight away.
I must warn you, Your phone WONT! charge in this state so take the battery out when your downloading the files or not flashing it or using it as it will run the battery out fast.
If the battery runs out then you will have to search and do the macqyver method

after flashing stock rom you have to get into stock recovery & do factory reset ^^ ph should boot up after that...
if your battery is flat/dead you need to become McGyver -=or=- get extra charged battery & repeat process
After flashing CEE nordic, T-Mobile US and UK roms, I couldn't even go to bootloader mode nor recovery mode. so this is impossible to clear date.
bootloader will not show but RSD lite will say its connected, Unless the battery is flat as it wont charge in this state.
If you hook up the macqyver method and turn the phone on holding the up button and connect the USB cable. RSD lite should say that its connected if you have done it right. It took me 3 goes to get it working but once I did it worked.
It took me 10 roms before I found one that worked. So dont give up

same here. macgyver worked on about the 3rd attempt (not sure why, the wires looked connected each time), and my 3rd SBF worked... then i couldn't root, flashed another sbf, and the 5th method worked...z4root, superoneclick, doroot, droid2root, and DOOMLORD worked
but now my sdcard wont load, so i got more problems... sigh... if you have warranty just get a new phone!!!

Possibly Bricked Defy??? Please Help

HEEEEELP!!! I'm in great need of assistance! I'm new to modified roms and I'm at a lose with my Motorola defy (MB525). it seems to be bricked and won't detect in my computer
Here is what i did:
1. I had rooted it with SOC
2. unlocked boot loader
3. I had installed clockwork mod and flashed CM10.1 Android 4.2.2. Everything was working but some of my google play services and data
4. The problem showed up when I tried to upgrade and install CM 10.2 Android 4.3
5. It flashed successfully but very time it would power on, it would forget all the settings. It also wouldn't boot into clockwork recovery mode and would reboot when installing Rom Manager.
6. I tried wiping cache but now it won't even boot up, just black screen.
7. I tried putting the clockwork mod back on but it goes to the andorid boot menu and can't find a custom recovery
8. Now it boots staight to android boot menu, It will not detect in my Mac or friend's PC
9. Downloaded motorola drivers, RSD Lite for pc and tried entering bootloader mode but battery is too low to put in USB transferring mode
10. Tried charging for hours but it is still not charged enough to do bootloader mode, doesn't seem to be charging.
11. When connected to a computer, it detects by displaying a white light but will not boot up to android boot menu.and is not detected by the computer
Not sure what else I can do, any suggestions? Please and thanks!

I have a similar problem. My unmodified (not rooted) Defy (running 2.2.1) started to boot loop, so I eventually did a factory reset. That worked for a while, and then suddenly the defy froze on the Moto logo (not even cycling to the Blur screen) and I could no longer get to the reset screen. However I could still get to the bootloader, so I tried to use RDS lite. I got one sbf to say it passed, but the phone did not reboot. Now RDS will detect whether the phone is on or off (and if on I'll get a white LED) and I can flash the sbf still, but otherwise the phone is completely bricked - can't get to reset OR bootloader screen.
Any help would be appreciated greatly!

First of all, you need to get the battery charged somehow. Here's some possibilities:
borrow from someone a "defy's battery compatible phone" and charge your battery inside that phone. A Defy or a Defy+ or a DroidX would work.
try to get an external battery charger
WARNING it's potentially dangerous: method B from this post (MacGyver way): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892026 :
Then you can go download mode and restore sbf.

Which one sbf have you tried?
Are you sure is the right one? If yes, have you checked if it's corrupted or have your tried to redownload it?

How did RSD recognise your phone if you can't go to the bootloader?
Defy Wiki pages
There is Wiki page here at XDA with a lot of relevant information for Defy/Defy+: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Motorola_Defy
You may find this informations scattered there, but Wiki is always good starting point.

When I plug the phone into the USB the white LED comes on, but I can't raise ANYTHING on the screen (reset screen or bootloader screen, holding down the volume up or down w/ the power button). However pressing the power button alone does cause the computer to recognize hardware is plugged in, or alternately disconnected. RSD tells me a device is connected, but the only info given is the bootloader version and AP ID info (whatever that is). However, when I load the SBF, the phone lights up and says SW update in progress...
RSD tells me the phone is being rebooted and has passed, but screen goes dark and all I see i the white LED again.
I have no way of knowing how much juice is left in the battery (I have two, but I think one is dry) or if it is taking a charge..
I tried these two SBFs:
T-Mobile_MB525_6.19.0_1FF.sbf
JORDN_U3_6_36_0_SIGNED_USAJRDNTMOB1B4B5DE1028_0R_JORDANTMO_P022_HWp3_Service1FF.sbf
Only the 1st one works.

To get RSDLIte to recognize your phone you have to enter boot loader mode. this means press VOL-UP + POWER If nothing helps, try pushing VOL UP before!' you put the battery in (RSDLIte should be running and awaiting a new connection at that time) If you are using Windows 7, try seting RSDLite to "compatibility mode: Windows XP SP3".
@DefyVictim said he could not get into bootloader and yet RSD recognised it.

Hi.
I wanted to go back to stock ROM from Quarx's CM10 (sep 17) and flashed the next file with RSD, but ended up in bootloop at motorola logo.

So are you saying that my issue might still be a dead battery, despite the fact that my computer and RSD notice when I turn on and off the phone, and even though the phone has enough power to tell me "SW update in progress" when I flash the SBF, and RSD says the flash is a "PASS" and that the phone is being rebooted? I'm really asking, not being sarcastic. Thanks!

can't be sure, i'm just guessing.
I just know that the download mode doesn't use as much power as the full android booting up. In fact trying to boot a dead (0%) battery with pc's usb, lead to boot loop in my case or no boot at all.
But of course you need to be sure to have a 70-80% charged battery. Try mcgyver on one of yours.
if this fails you need to check as well with other SBFs
Which SBF

Exactly which SBF should I be using?? (I'm on T Mobile in the US, although I bought the phone unlocked). I had been running Android 2.2.1. The phone was NOT rooted.

i really don't know which one is the right one for you. i use the one for MB525, Tim italy.
You should carefully check between the lists in this post for your model/carrier :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1216982 (section Official SBFs)
Be careful because MB525 (defy) and MB526 (defy+) have differents SBFs.

I'm not sure it's the right one. It was the T-Mobile for USA one. However it said it passed, so I don't think corruption is the issue.

[Q] Defy bricked. Wont turn on, only white led on pc

I had cm11 (or 10, not sure) installed for about a month now (back in december) .... Went on a trip, and when coming back my phone battery ran out at the airport somehow, but i had fully charged it and i was not out all day enough for it to run out fully... I take my phone home, not really giving it much importance, and i noticed it was stuck on the bootlogo.. so i went into recovery and tried to re-flash the rom and fix it, but when i was installing the ROM again, the phone shut off randomly (i heard that happened with a certain recovery menu software sometimes, i cant remember the name)... then the phone wouldn't charge and/or turn on, and when I connect it to the pc, nothing happens other than the white led coming on.. RSD won't recognize it...
So i found out i had to charge the battery manually, and used a Universal Charger... Still, no recognition by RSD Lite...
Finally, i found a way:
1. Open RSDLite
2. Connect phone (no battery on it)
3. While holding Power + Vol Up, put the battery in
4. RSD will recognize your phone!
Problem is, it recognizes my MB525 as "S Flash OMAP0360"
And when i try to flash a .sbf i used previously to recover my phone (had bricked it before by trying to change ROMs in a sloppy manner), it seems to flash smoothly, but when it's going to reboot the phone, the progress goes up to 100% and then asks me to reboot it manually.. I read somewhere that to fix that i should take the battery out, disconnect the phone, put it back in, and make RSD recognize it like i mentioned before...... and after RSDLite says flashing is PASSED, the phone still won't turn on... I have tried at least three times and gotten the same result... Help?
The SBF i am using (because it helped me save my phone before) is:
JORLA_U3_3.4.2_107-9_SIGNED_USAJORDMR1B25TIGCOLA01E.0R_JORLAFROTIGCOL A_P009_A002_M010_HWp3_WIG146037_Service1FF.sbf
EDIT: Also, i read somewhere that when all you get is the white led (when connecting to PC) it means that your battery is not charged enough for flashing.. ?
I don't know what to do?? I read that defy's are really hard to brick... But mine got bricked out of nowhere.. wtf?

Hey there. Well, if it's still flashable it ain't bricked. I've got my other one to not be recognized (broken bootloader), which is beyond usual repair. So, did you you flash some random SBF before the rescue one you're trying out now? There's a problem with previously flashed GingerBread or Defy+ SBF images. So it would be good to know, what was the SBF running before trying "JORLA_U3_3.4.2_107-9". Also according to http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=27 that is 2.2.1 and there's also a "Android 2.2.2 Blur_Version.34.4.802.MB525.Latam.en.01". Tried that as well?
Anyhow, if the phone is seen by RSDlite it actually powers on and is recoverable. If the screen is just staying black, then you probably tried a downgrade from a Gingerbread SBF and didn't watch out for the BL-version.
If it's a BL-version problem then this might help. Also there is a guide to unbrick. And yes, keep an eye out for the battery level. Best would be an external charger, as the phone does not charge. McGyver way should still work though.
If it shows a LED and is seen over USb, it's not dead (yet)
Also look out for section "Common Problems/Questions" here.

No, i have not flashed other SBF's ever... only CM roms but i did it through the phone itself, in recovery mode.. I'll try the 2.2.2 one you told me about and see how that works out!
EDIT: No luck, the phone stays at a black screen.. it wont even reboot when RSD is done flashing.. i have to take the battery out and put it in bootloader again for RSD to say it PASSED the flashing

Too bad Anyway, did you try 8. from here, that is
"
If you get " Please manually power up this phone " in RSD Lite pull battery out > put your battery back > reboot into stock recovery by holding Power button and Vol- button > Choose Wipe data/cache > Choose Reboot system now
"? Also holding Power and Vol-Down while inserting battery is said to work.
I wonder if there is an SBF that also flashes cache and userdata partitions...
Nope, it just stays black-screened.... It only works if i do VOL-UP for bootloader mode, but that doesnt help
Umm, as a shot into the blue: Did you try to reinstall the Defy drivers from Motorola? It seems that missing those hinder RSD lite from detecting the Phone as MB52x and instead just show the Processor identification, i.e. "S Flash OMAP3630"
Try dfp 231. The processor identification is correct( rsdlite has been set up properly).

wtf, the phone flashed correctly and everything but the screen won't turn on.... The computer recognizes it as MB526 now, and i can touch the home button and stuff and it will vibrate like it used to when it worked... i can also make the ringtones play using the moto portal page... Everything works (except for calls) other than the fact that i still have a black screen... the screen just wont turn on... Also it said it had very little internal memory compared to what it had before (had at least 2 gb i think.. now not even one)
I had sent the phone over to fix, and they told me it was unfixable... Is it possible that the guy (it wasnt an official company) who "tried to fix it" simply took parts out of it ? -_- (if he had taken parts out of it im guessing the phone wouldnt turn on at all..?)
What can i do to turn the screen on??

Umm, according to this thread it is supposed to be this one.
The GR vs CN maybe doesn't make a difference, but maybe the P022_A022 vs. P015_A030?
Doesn't a working phone portal allow for somehow to get logs/adb etc?
