Chainfire 3D video driver
Yes you can!
I have the wifi model (GT6800) and I installed Chainfire 3D and also downloaded 3 plugins from the internet ang now I can play Nvidia and gameloft games no problems.
There is a thread on XDA about how to install then - it was very easy to do just follow the instructions in the thread.
The plugins are attached below

I tried installing from the market, but it doesn't show up in my app drawer, even though it said it installed successfully. Anyone else run into this?
Your 7.7 needs to be rooted!
Try uninstalling it and install again, I have the piad version and had no problems with it installing and using it.

Hi,
I saw many people who posted their favorites games for the g3. So i also wanted to play paradise island but i got white textures at thr border. How can i fix that?
I also saw people who play chalk ball, so i downloaded it from getjar market, but it force closed it?
Any tips?
TearsDontFalls
Download chainfire3d app from market. Download certain plugins i don't know the names of them but i think they will be specified in the chainfire3d apps description on the market. Then install the plugins on chainfire3d and choose the qualcomm plugin.
you don't need chainfire to play paradise island,never played chalkball. I play both my country and rock the vegas smootly ( made by the same developers and same graphics and concept) without it. I think i have tried paradise island, think i got the white tectures on small parts (more than 3/4 was visible) but just thought it was the app version so maybe try a different version.
OK i have these plugins and cf3d, but i didnt installed it.

Maybe the games can't recognise the tablet because of the CM7. I know some people who play games on stock rom. Good games I mean, like deadspace.
Asphalt 6 (Gameloft) won't even show up for me in the market.

GTA III is working fine now after ver 1.1 update.....just tried it with stock rom .....awesome game....but already played it a lot before.....
Also I tried Asphalt 6.....but faced some resolution issues....will have to try again.....though NFS Shift works fine....
Haven't tried DeadSpace yet......

Asphalt 6 didn't show up for me in the Android Market, but there was a separate Kindle version on sale in the Amazon appstore for $0.10 the same day it was on sale on the Android store so I got it from there.
Note: I am using the stock software, NOT CM7.

Hi all
So, I bought this game since the market showed it compatible from my computer. I did not launch it in the refund time (15 mins), but then when I started it it said that it is not compatible with my phone, please ask for refund.
It works for Galaxy S which also has a PowerVR GPU (SGX540 and we have SBX530) and a similar CPU.
Can this be made to somehow work on MS2?? changing build.prop or something?
I think it should run okay (if not great) since I also bought Modern Combat 3 and it runs fine and has no such compatibility issue. I think MC3 should be more graphic intensive than Backstab HD (which is part of the reason I did not test it immediately after downloading and assumed it would run okay).
Download Chainfire 3D and emulate the gpu id. There are tons of tutorials on the internet showing how to use it.
Works for any game that supposedly only works on Tegra or any other chipset. Pure gimmick from the developers.

Thanks. Will give it a try.
I went out and bought the pro version of chainfire 3d and it hasn't been useful yet. I've got the qualcomm, nvidia and powerVR plugins but none have gotten it to launch. Tried all various setting and no dice. If you can get it to work I'd be very interested to know how
some guys have videos up on youtube of it working - several games infact, that are otherwise apparently incompatible. They are all spanish (or something?) though so I'm not sure how they managed it.

I actually don't have the Pro version. I was trying with the free one. There is one step I saw in a video on youtube that is not possible on the free version i.e. "Fix market settings".
After selecting, one of the drivers, say nVidia, you need to click on "fix market settings" and then try some nVidia tegra game from market.
Can you try it out and let me know if it works for you? Coz only then I'll go and buy the Pro version.
Okay. I have gotten past the 'Compatibility Screen'. I changed the build.prop to match to Droid X.
Code:
ro.product.model=DROIDX
ro.product.brand=verizon
ro.product.name=shadow_vzw
ro.product.device=cdma_shadow
ro.product.board=shadow
First just try changing the model as follows. If that does not work try the above.
Code:
ro.product.model=DROIDX
You can change these in build.prop using 'root browser' or 'root explorer'. After this, I cleared the data and cache of 'Market' app as well as Backstab HD from 'Manage apps'.
Funny thing is that the game is compatible with Droid X but not with Milestone 2 when both have exactly same CPU, GPU and chipset. I found out from Gameloft's website that the game is compatible with Droid X, so tried this out.
It is currently downloading data. I'll let you know if it runs fine.
I don't think Chainfire 3D would be needed for this game since we have PowerVr GPU and so does Droid X. May be for some Tegra devices we would need to use Chainfire 3D and some build.prop related with some tegra device.
Edit: It worked after the download. I can play it fine. I can even revert to original build.prop after that.

I bought chainfire when Backstab was in the 10c sale and i was desperate to buy it so cheap. Doing the market fix didn't do jack. It still wouldn't show for any driver.
So I then put it on my gf's galaxy s2 and still, no dice. I'm pretty sure it would have shown up by default on stock rom sgs2, but I put miui on it and half the market vanished.. woo
Moral of the story, I figured the few bucks I was paying for chainfire 3d pro would save me some money getting backstab cheap, but it failed. Had to install cm7 to have it show up on the market.
The only time it's been any use was when I only had free, and it got shadowgun to occasionally load. Then a week later they patched it for PowerVR anyway

This is awesome news! I know what I'll be doing when I get my ms2 back
Thanks!
You dont have to get chainfire. What I do when I want a game from Gameloft and it's not compatible with my MS2 is in the purchase screen, on Gloft's site, pick another compatible phone. It works everytime. They send an email with the apk file and i install it on my Milestone 2. No chainfire needed.

There is a check after installation of the apk and before downloading the files when it gives an error saying something like "This game is not compatible with your phone". To by-pass that error, I did that thing with the build.prop
May be there might be another way too. This worked for me.
Don't know about you guys, but I absolutely refuse to by off the gameloft site. It limits to 1 device and it's only a 3 year purchase. wtf :| stingey!

This method really works for my LG Optimus LTE... Thanks...
I've heard that Chainfire can help our phones to run smoothly the latest 3D games by reducing the texture quality and many others. On Play Market, in the description of this app,it says that is recommended to use this app on phones with 1ghz, but i saw a lot of videos on youtube and a lot of tutorials where people use this app on Zte Blade.
I want to know if it's safe to install this app on our Blades and if it works properly.Does this app helps our phones ?
It works properly on Blade. Performance improvements depend on the game or app. Significant graphics changes can be found on games like GTA.

I am interested use this app to play Temple run (armv6) or Dungeon Huter 2 and some others...
Can you tell me how to install it, because i've heard something about an nandroid backup and other stuff ?
Just install Chainfire and select the CF3D Driver option.
The nandroid backup is advised because, like all patches, chainfire 3D may brick ur phone
any examples other than gta in the improvement is significant

It can't actually brick your blade but there's always that small margin of error for a bad flash or something.
And yes, cf3d could solve your problem
Is RF2012 really compatible with ARMv6? AFAIK no ARMv6 phone is flagged as compatible on the market with that game (plus, there's a check when you open newest Gameloft games that check both your manufacter and phone model. If it isn't in their list, the game will close and a "Contact us to get refund" screen is shown).
If you don't wanna install CF3D i suggest you to try Fifa12 or Pes2012. Both works on my phone without any plugins.

Fifa 12 is flagged as non-compatible, even if it works. You have to buy it from another phone and then send the APK to your phone (or let google help you to get an "unofficial" version)

Would like to know add well
OK well if u use Google well enough you can find a version for the LG p990
Which if installed, it will download all the files needed and it will work on the n7
Sent from either Galaxy S3 intl or Nexus 7
both on stock at the moment!!
Tried installing the version for lg, but it won't download the add on. It keeps giving me an error.
I think I downloaded the add on, I think by using a different version and then just reinstalling it. I got the game to start, but it crashes after the first trailer plays out
Well I un installed it, and now I can't get past the add on download again. I'm not sure what I did last time, but I can't replicate it. I've paid and downloaded the lg p990 version from Game loft, but I can't get that to work either

attached are the two apk file. one is for the tab the other for the lg p990. can anyone else confirm that they got it to work. i can't. i tried installing the samsung tab one, downloading the the add on, uninstalling it and then downloading the lg. however, i keep getting an error when the lg one tries to download the add. i've already spent over $20 to play this game, and i just can't figure out how.

Do a search for starfront collision all versions (torrent) it includes 8 apks. I've just reinstalled it to go through it again. Use the galaxy tab apk to download the data (526mb) The game FC's on startup. Install the lg p99 apk over the G Tab one and it works. Hope this helps everyone.

It worked. Awesome. Thanks
Don't spend money on Gameloft games if they aren't officially supported. I did this with Order and Chaos. Every update broke the game and it would say incomparable. They REALLY go to great lengths to only let their games run on specific devices. Toward the end, we had to deconstruct the APK files to remove the device detection code. It became way to complicated to be enjoyable.
I probably "wasted" $40 on Order and Chaos buying multiple versions to make it work and subscriptions and ingame app purchases... only to keep getting locked out for months at a time.
I have a really bad taste for Gameloft and simply do not support them with my cash if they do not want me to play it. So be warned. Don't drop cash on this unless you are seriously desperate to play it, because it may lock you out at any time.
the workaround explained here really works on Nexus 7.
But it just downloads 526MB of data and the graphics are not really the best.
However, if I use the Samsung Galaxy S II version, I get a download of 708MB. I believe these graphics should be better.
what do you say ?
Also, I'm looking for a version to run on Acer Iconia A100 and/or Asus EEE PAD Transformer (TF101).
These 2 devices have Tegra 2 CPU. Which version should I use on them ?
