Ahh Finally going to Root My T-mobile G1

Hello Fellows well today i m going to root my G1 after searching a-lot but before buying the G1 i came to know that i will be able to install apps directly to my sd card but after experiencing G1 i wasn't able to install aps directly to MicroSD card..Ok now the main ques that i want to know before rooting my G1
1- i came to know that if i use Eclair/Hero<--(mainly these) or anyother rom i wouldn't able to use qwerty keyboard , i have to use the on screen touch keyboard which i dont like..
2- if i would able to use qwerty keyboard on Eclair or anyother Rom then its fine else is there is any rom of Motorola Milestone or anyother qwerty keyboard based android phones rom which i can run on my G1 because i m not useto with onscreen Keyboards
3 - the keyboard Issue : i have shown an example of the error which i m facing right now like when i type
9 or y it automatically types y9
wel some of the users will say to google it ... come on i know how to google .. but if i have to google then y i make threads here for Help.. plz expreties i really need ur help ..well right now i m using 1.6 donut-unrooted G1-DRC92
1. You can use the keyboard on G1 with Eclair and Sense roms.
2. Keyboards work already.
3. Probably a hardware issue? Maybe something is jammed under the keyboard or something....
This site has a good tutorial on rooting your phone. Its easy, downgrade, install 1-click-root, and install your custom rom. I recommend Cyanogenmod/SupedD/AOSP (speedy 1.6), or MLING's Hero 3.2B (Hero 1.5), or OpenEclair (2.1), or Vega's legend port (Hero 2.1). 2.1 roms have some missing things that make them perfect (camcorder etc).
hmmm ok thanks mate going to try now...but isn't there any keyboard fix kinda thing that i can try before opening my G1

[Q] Device Keyboard change language G1

Hi guys, I am new in this forum and I'd like to say hello to everybody!!!I have a little problem with my G1: I installed the last version of android 2.2, everything works fine and it's very fast for common use (I can post the rom I've installed if you'd like), however, my problem was related to the qwerty device keyboard which is set with american language, but I have an italian layout so if it is possible i'd like to change it. I have a procedure and if you are interested i can post it but it worked only until 1.6, with this on 2.2 i got no results, can someone help me??
thanks Simone

rom issues and questions!!

hey everybody.
ive been having some issues installing roms from coredroid i have tried their desire 2.3 rom and it was soo slow soo soo slow i had to get rid of it. not sure why.
now i installed the froyo rom and the rom is working like a pro but i have no keyboard no keyboard shows up after installation.
i followed their install instructions step by step by step just need to know what is going on whether its the desire or the froyo it sucks pretty bad for me.
secondly
i have been looking around and saw something called miui its been bugging my curiosity so i checked out their website and i guess its a different brand of roms for android. question is what is soo special or unique about them ? and any recommended ones that i can try out maybe ? do let me know i would appreciate the help greatly
thanks
keyboard was a problem with v1.7 froyo. you can ask help for it, in rom's thread, because there were some fixes for it. or you can download a keyboard from market.
miui roms have a launcher similar to iphone. they are smaller in size and fast. they have updates every weekend regularly. their backup-restore function is unique. they have many alternative themes and lockscreens.

Rom ICS-Leo-2.4.27-HWA on HD2, Response from applications is very slow

Hi, after installing the ICS-Leo-2.4.27-HWA, the response from most of the applications are very very slow. Also the WiFi signal shows very low for no reasons. I have same rom installed on my HTC Desire S and it is working perfectly fine.
Specially when I go to facebook or Gtalk the response I get is so slow that sometimes the touch screen get stuck if I want to stop the application.
Can anyone suggest me if there is any way to improve this or I go back to previous rom which is android version 2.3.7
Many thanks.

I have read these kernels are especially for ics roms. If you search in form you can find that threat.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA
HI,
The problem might just occur because your fone isnt "compatible" wid the rom. what i mean to say is if one rom works beautifully on one fone, it doesnt mean itll well just as well on another. My advice is to shift to another rom that runs more smoothly as compared to the current one.
Give a thanks if you found this post useful
why dont you try one of these roms:
