[Q] x10 wifi issue - XPERIA X10 General

A Noob is Stuck !! Help Please
1. My Phone is Rooted
2. My Phone is still on Stock ROM 2.3.3 (No Custom ROMs Installed yet)
2. It's on Baseband .71
3. I had Busybox installed (as every forum said it was "essential")
4. I for some reason uninstalled busybox from my system
so now my Wifi isn't working at all, it's stuck on "Obtaining Ip Address", I did a reset of my Router (Like they said in some other forum) yet it's not working.
I would install a custom rom but Xrecovery as I read somewhere requires busybox.
Could anyone here please send me a working Busybox link (the One I downloaded required mounting and other stuff, which is too confusing) or could some one tell me if i can install custom ROM without this busybox thing and also I'm still on Stock ROM so can I do a Factory Reset ?

Superuser not work
ROM Manager saying i need to root my phone. Please help completely lost.
Open superuser, hit menu, toggle permissions on, reboot.
And get rid of ROM Manager
Need More help didn't work
I don't use CM, but if it comes with the newest version of SuperUser (3.04 I believe), then that's likely the problem. Uninstall it and install an older version.
R&R SU with one in this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1297612
I too had thought I lost root access w/ latest SU (3.04 I believe).
Installed 3.0 in above link and everything back to normal now, i.e, root apps functioning normally.
Just be careful not to update app through Market to 3.04; I haven't found a way to stop it prompting me to update. Can't detach from Market via TB because SU doesn't appear in apps list.
i'm on 3.4 with no issues but ive lost root flashing other roms with 3.0. weird
Do what HipKat says.

[Q-RESOLVED] Disable Market Updater without being root

I've HTC Wildfire with a 2.2.1 Froyo's HTC Sense ROM.
I've S-OFF but all my tries to be rooted have been painfull (flashing some new kernels). The phone shows too slowsly and buggy.
I want to block market updater, buy I don't know if there is a solution to do from recovery.
Or maybe anybody knows a kernel which work find with a HTC stock rom ?
Thanks a lot.
Rooting means having the Superuser Binary and the Superuser app installed. It has absolutely nothing to do with kernels and ROMs. As long as you have both (Superuser binary and app), you are "rooted", irrespective of whether you are on the stock kernel or not. So, if you are not having SU, flash this in Clockworkmod Recovery:
http://goo-inside.me/superuser (Choose 3.0.6-efgh.zip)
For blocking the Market updater, you just need a terminal emulator, The post with the required command can be found here:

Sorry I've a big mistake.
That's because I was using SETCPU and it was troubling me.
Please DELETE this post if is possible
Thanks a lot.

[Q] Why I lost my ROOT when I install another ROM?´

Hi!
This is my question, Why I lost my ROOT when I install another ROM?
I have the following case.....
- CM with Android 4.3 and Rooted, working without problems.
- I install the ROM [JB 4.3 JWR66Y] [Linaro gcc 4.8] ♦ PURITY ROM ♦ (Mako) 24/10 with the CWM (before formating everything)
- I install the last SuperSU version with the CWM, without problems.
- I start the Nexus4, I try to open SuperSU but I receive the error "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it."
- I format everything again with CWM, and I install again only the CM Android 4.3, without SuperSU or something similar.
- I have root permisions.
What I´m doing wrong, to don´t get the Purity Rom with Root??
Problem SOLVED!!
- With the CM Rom, install the SuperSU via CWM.
- Download TWRP (http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/129) and install it, but not "activate" the recovery jet.
- Open SuperSU and desactivate activate the "Super User" check, some times, but leaving at the end activated.
- Open TWRP, give root rights!!! and in options, select "Install open...:"
- Install the Purity ROM via TWRP
- Enjoy
All custom ROMs come rooted. Of course SuperSU isn't going to work; the original SU application and binary are still in place. You never had to flash anything root related.

not true. many custom roms come without supersu or superuser, where it would be the users responsibility to flash either supersu or superuser.
This PURITY ROM comes without Root, thats why they say that you need to use SuperSU

Multitool Advance v6 by dr.ketan - Busybox Problem

Hi all,
Just flashing my note 3 to stock rom 4.3 latest update. Then using dr.ketan multitool to root, at this stage all is good. Until I install apps like titanium backup (titanium said no binary found) or triangle away (it says supersu needed, even the phone is rooted and supersu can be updated). Tried to install busybox from apps store but still can't fix the problem. checked with root checker, it says device rooted but no busybox found.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Have tried to flash and reflash so many time with different options but still no fix. I just need to get the busybox get recognised so my titanium backup and triangle away can work properly.

[Q] 4.4.2 ExtSDCard Fix Doesn't Work

Hey everyone,
After updating to 4.4.2 I had the SD Card Write problem that other people have been having, and I looked around and found two threads here with a guide to fixing it.
This one :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2656627
and this one :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2607215
I tried flashing both the files (Using Philz recovery) but it didn't help.
What's more confusing is that if I try to manually edit my platform.xml file, ES file explorer simply says "Task Failed" when I try to save the edited file or even replace it with a pre-edited one. This is despite granting it root permissions. I thought that maybe my phone didn't root properly, but root checker says it's rooted fine, and I've used Xposed, AdAway, Greenify, and Seeder successfully.
This is the method I used to root and install recovery :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2655544
I'm not sure if this is related, but Titanium Backup's freeze feature isn't working for me anymore either. I have purchased the Pro version. It says freezing successful, but it simply doesn't do anything to the app I'm trying to freeze.
Any ideas what's happening here?
Did you try custom kernel? That's how I got it fixed
As far as I could tell, none of the custom kernels for the I9500 are stable. I need my phone to be rock solid (that's why I'm sticking to stock as well) so can't afford to flash a custom kernel.
Any alternate solutions anyone? And any idea what's causing this in the first place?
