[Q] Kindle UMS error - Kindle Fire General

I have just rooted my kindle and installed the Ice Cream Sandwich mod. I am getting a "UMS is currently disabled" error during boot. I enabled it, tapped on the icon and then receive the following error:
"Failure! You cannot enable UMS without a USB connection,
The cable is already connected.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem? Thanks in advance.

[Q] USB Debugging not working

So I just SBF'd to froyo on my droid 2 after using cm7 nightlies. I wan to install CM 7.2. But after I SBF'd and wiped my data I can't seem to get USB debugging to work. When I engage USB Debugging the checkmark appears. But When I hook up to my computer there is no debugging icon in the notification area. Also I have tried rooting using doroot. I can't seem to get my droid 2 rooted. Before I run the update to gingerbread my froyo allows usb debugging to engage but when I do the OTA update to GB I can no longer get USB Debugging to work. Any ideas? I am getting desperate here. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have.

[Q] Nexus 4 mid root status "Offline"

I was running through the root video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=g88PPZyvfDI) when I occurred an error at 16:40ish
it appears that I have unlocked my bootloader, then when it was beginning to root the device it installs a insecure boot rom, This appeared to go ok until I tried to enable debugging mode again.
so I enabled it and I got the message about the secure code and ticked the box and accepted that but I was unable to progress. I tried to switch the modes from PTP and MTP but still no success.
ive been running "adb devices" in a command prompt but I still cant get anything other than my serial code and "Offline". I tried installing several drivers but im unsuccessful with anything so far.
I had a HTC Desire Z before the nexus 4 and i rooted that ok but because that was a long time ago I redowloaded the android sdk and re-set up the environmental variables "path" but it hasnt changed anything as of yet...
does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I can try?
EDIT:
just got "device" to show up.. but my device was non responsive to the adb in fastboot? i received this error:
http://pastebin.com/JMvNpb7q
EDIT2:
maybe I dont have a insecure boot image... but the error above may be a reason?
Update your adb.exe tool its out of date that's way it says offline
From my BLACKED OUT N4
i solved the issue and it was a weird one but maybe it will help someone else in the future...
if you are pretty sure you have everything fine, try a different USB slot.
try not to use a USB slot from a USB card but instead directly on the motherboard.
for some reason my TOP USB allowed my device to be found in FASTBOOT
and my BOTTOM USB allowed my device to be found in USB DEBUGGING MODE
so all I had to do was time it right and quickly swap between the top and bottom USB devices in the "waiting" phases.
It was quite a struggle but I managed to get there in the end!
final question... what rom is now on my device? what is the rom that ends up on your device at the end? is it a stock rom or a insecure rom or something else?
Thanks again for everyone who helped =)

[Q] USB Debugging enabled but not working

So I'm trying to root my Samsung Galaxy S4 using the Motochopper method. I had previously rooted the same phone using the same method.
Well I came across a problem, at first USB debugging was working, after getting a popup (didn't have time to read because I accidentally closed it) it stopped working. The popup was not Allow USB Debugging?, that I had read and pressed okay, the popup occurred later while USB Debugging was enabled (Android jellybean was on the statusbar), now it says USB debugging is enabled but the Android jellybean doesn't show up and doing ADB remount or ADB devices doesn't work, it tells me device not found.
Here's what I tried:
Factory data reset
Changing USB cords (4 different cords)
Changing USB port (3 different ports)
Uninstalling drivers and reinstalling them (Kies is good to go and working perfectly)
I'm really stumped, if anyone can help me out that'd be great!

[Q] Touchscreen broken, need to backup files.

Hi, I'm really hoping someone can please help.
I accidentally dropped my 2012 Nexus 7 and now the touchscreen won't work. I am trying to backup the data. The tablet turns on and my PC recognizes it when I plug it in via USB. However because I have a passcode on the lockscreen Windows won't show the files on the tablet until I unlock the screen. This is no doubt a security feature. Is there any way possible to either bypass the lockscreen or access my data another way?
I tried using SkipSoft Android Toolkit but for every option I select it says "Waiting for USB debugging to be enabled".
2012 Nexus 7
Android 4.4.x (Can't remember if it was running 4.4.1 or 4.4.2).
Everything is stock, no root.
Bootloader version: 4.23
The problem is that USB debugging is not enabled on the device, so I cannot use adb. Is there any way around this?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
For anyone who might be caught in a similar situation, I was able to enter the pin code via mouse and OTG cable.

[Q] Wrong WinUSB Pipes Found - What does it mean?

Hi,
I have a Nexus 4 with Jelly Bean 4.2.2, rooted, with Cyanogenmod 10.1.3. Lately when I plug the device to my pc, the message "Wrong WinUSB Pipes Found" comes up (I have switched between MTP and PTP numerous times). I am using the USB cord that came with the device - and it has always worked - until now!
When I tried to use Wugfresh's Tool Kit, it always gives me the message "device not found" eventually. I checked it in device manager, and it says: "device driver is working properly" (I must have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver 30-40 times with Wug's toolkit).
Lately, I noticed that my BusyBox, Titaniumbackup, and a host of other apps have disappeared. In addition, none of the games will open (they all show as "Installed", but there's not an "open" key to click on). None of the Google apps work. I used to have Talkatone to make free calls, and now it's gone.
I cannot even go back to stock as it always tells me that my "device is not found" eventually. Is there a way to just revert the phone back to stock without running into the "device not found" situation?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
