Does tomorrow feel like CHRISTMAS?

I'm an adult, I know tomorrow is just another Friday. But, I feel like it's X-mas (you can add the 'Christ' if you want). I don't know if I'll be able to sleep. I've been counting off the days for weeks now. I plan on getting up extra early so I can be at the Sprint store promptly at 8 am. I plan to get to work a wee-bit late and showing off my new toy. I'm as happy as a little guuurrrrlll.

Yeah, i don't feel like this since SOCOM 3 for PS2 back in October 11, 2005

That is EXACTLY what is feels like, and I just told one of my friends at lunch that I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning so I can unwrap my toy. I swear I'm obsessed with this phone... I check various blog sites and forums multiple times a day to see if there's any new news. I just hope not to feel let down after I've unwrapped my toy and the anticipation is over.

This is exactly what I do. I sort of feel like I've already seen enough trailers for the EVO movie, so when I do finally open it up I won't have as much anticipation or shock because I've already seen all the videos, reviews, photos, disassembled EVO, etc. I'm not going to have the shock values as "WTF! This thing is HUGE! What's this? What's that?"

I couldn't have said it better myself!

I have to agree - it is kinda like Christmas -- and I'm picking up 2 EVO's around 11:00 am tomorrow.
The root is available, the phone is available - just gonna be a good day tomorrow.
I'm almost too tired from waiting - to go pick them up ..... almost

The reason it is like Christmas is because I will be up so freaking early to get to The Shack before 0600...

Ehh they $$ are sometime over limited. But in my area sprint works the best, Below that is ATT then T-Mobile. and VZW is last.

I called my Best Buy to see if they can get me an earlier slot, and they told me I can just activate over the phone at 10AM and then pay when I pick it up (any time after activation).
It definitely feels like Christmas tomorrow. I've been counting down the days since I put it on pre-order, and now I'm counting down the hours. 12 more hours to go! And since I'll be sleeping for 8 of them, that means only 4 more hours of actual awake time!

Well I did it, returned the Evo for Epic

Here is to hoping the dev community quickly upgrades the Epic to froyo!

If they do, it will be missing 4G (amongst other things) until Samsung upgrades it themselves. But I think you made a good move.

I hope you enjoy the Epic more than the Evo. Im hanging onto my Evo until i get the Epic in hand and have a day or two to play with it. If all goes as expected then the Evo will be my girlfriends phone

Good choice . I have the vibrant and I love it. Good to see another sgs phone released ...

Wel luckily I was within my 3 days of buying my evo (bought it July 30th) at best buy. So I returned it and went ahead and preordered the epic too.
So I'll just have to pay the 50+ tax difference
Can't wait til Tuesday !

Congrats on making the switch! The EVO really never did it for me. Don't like the phones accent color, Sense UI, and the layout of the capacitive buttons.
The Epic shall be EPIC!!!

Man is samsung or sprint screwing this launch up? I get worried because if it flops will that mean little Dev support (custom roms) or samsung official support like software updates?

But this morning I woke up, had a great conversation with myself. Once I had that conversation, I think I was set. ​
The answer to the question everybody wants to know: What's your decision?
In this fall, this is very tough, in this fall I'm going to take my talents to Samsung and get the EPIC.​

Sprint is launching the phone, not Samsung. There is only so much that Samsung can do because they have 1 phone with 4 different names and 4 different sets of features on 4 carriers.
The commercials I saw advertised the "Galaxy S" phone. Unless you're a bit of an electronics/technology fan, then you won't put 2+3 together to realize that the Epic/Vibrant/Captivate/Fascinate are variants of the Galaxy S.
Besides that, certain other carriers like Verizon have done a decent job at branding their smartphone line.
I pulled out my Vibrant last week to show it to someone and they asked me if it was a Droid phone. Two choices:
1. Answer "no" and take 3 minutes to explain that 'droid' is a brand name and what android is and where my phone fits in.
2. Answer "yes" and avoid boring that person with a bunch of information they won't remember anyway.
Even though this phone is nicer than the EVO, I don't see it selling very big. Sprint customers are generally with Sprint because they are cheaper than Verizon and AT&T. The $250 price and +$10 "4G" fee for having the phone will keep people away.... especially since the Captivate and Vibrant are available on AT&T and T-mobile for $50 less up front, and ~$10 less per month (in t-mobile's case).
Also, the EVO just came out about a month ago or so. Its good that Sprint is getting some nice handsets, but they are going to price themselves out of their niche if they aren't careful. I expect the Epic to drop to $199 within 2 weeks of release.... I think they are just trying to squeeze early adopters

Don't they have to wait 30 days before dropping the price? Otherwise all the "early adopters" will become 2-week adopters as they en-masse return the phone and buy it again at the lower price.

Just wanted to say hello...
I'm due to pick up my Galaxy SII tomorrow from my local carrier.
Man, they are hard to get your hands on around here. I was told by the corporate rep who's also a friend of mine that the waiting list has over 200 people on it right now!
Short version. I'm coming from a Dell Streak 5, which I bought used from an XDA member and was able to sell here to a friend. My boss is going to foot the bill for half of the price of my new contract GSII, so I'll come out about $200 bucks ahead to upgrade!
Been lurking over in this section for a few days trying not to make too many bonehead moves so I don't end up asking the same dumb questions again. The search button is great, but it honestly doesn't always produce very well in terms of direct results.
Anyway, I'm glad to be joining your ranks.

Well I don't mean to troll your thread but since i havent really made a impact in this forum, no one would care.
Im am also leaving the Nexus S 4G. And im so sad to leave it but so happy with my new Gnex.
The 1.2gb dual core processor really feels soo smooth and i have been trying to achieve that with custom roms/kernels on my NS4G that honestly on the stock Gnex it brings satisfaction and completion.
Just a little story if your interested.
Last September i switched to sprint and was going to get my phone at best buy.
I didnt have much money to spend so what was hot at the time (Evo 3D- $199.99) was way out of my reach.
For $29.99 I was dead set on getting the Evo ( i think it was 4g wiimax). But best buy was sold out.
So the worker who i feel superior to because they don't know anything about the phone except whats listed on the ads.
Well, they pushed me to get the evo shift (free). But there was this phone with much mystery called nexus s.
I went over to their computer section to wikipedia specs to see which is faster and better but they had their ups and downs.
I went back 15 mins later and they pulled the shift out with a case and I became mad because she was trying to force the phone saying its better because of camera, keyboard, and year released that i went to the rep next to her and told him i want the nexus s 4g.( Reps get more money when they sign up people). A little arguement broke out and I left that store with the Nexus S 4g.
The big surprise to me is when Ice Cream Sandwich came out and i learned I have a Flagship Phone with Google and will receive future updates first. This made me A pure Google supporter and forever a Apple product/service hater.
I won $200 on a lottery ticket and decided to get the Gnex. People on craigslist were super stingy in my area wanting 300+ for a scratched up and some dented Gnex's.
Never buying phones off Ebay, I checked and saw one that was advertised as rooted and bids was $180. The HD pics showed not a scratch and long story short I now have one working for $186.50.
Now my new upgrade is in June so I can still get the next nexus this year.
Thats my story of the Nexus S 4g's life.
My advice to people, Don't get it now with a 2 year contract.
With the next nexus coming next month you don't want to fall two models behind in 2 years you'll be 10 models behind because Nexus are growing. Check Ebay and you can grab one for $250 or under.
Again, Sorry for trolling but i didn't want to spam the boards.
Hopefully my Gnex's battery can last through this hurricane sandy.

The last of the Note7 holdouts are coming home

Well big V is going to start blocking calls ...So I bought an N4 on ebay last night to tie me over until the N8 comes out. I suspect there will be many of us coming home.
Looking forward to getting back into the customization game again. haven't done it much since my N2.
Hopefully it's gotten easier

btw, the rep who submitted my cancellation form today reluctantly admitted i can keep the note 7 at my own risk.

We had a good run, but I reluctantly re-activated my Note4 a couple minutes ago and will be*sending my Note7 to meet its maker this afternoon.
As much as I enjoy the prospect of getting back into customization, it was*a surprising relief to not*feel that it was a necessity for the last 5 months.*It's all a bit bitter-sweet.

that's what the phone rep said after a spiel about it being at my own risk - which mean that the "may" qualifier in their nastygram seems to be in order to enable their scare tactics so as to get as many back as possible in order to reduce any liability they may face.

I just got back from a big V store...the rep had an N7 in his pocket he said he used as a media player....so I guess we can keep our phones if we want to....hope that's not like Obama's promise about my doctor...(I went there).

Big V can suck it lol note 3.5. isn't SIM LOCKED ( lil joke hehe. I mean it's really just a tricked note 3 . Not that I dislike it mind you . Clearly has its fans but it's like they. Reinvent the wheel with the. 2 and 3 . I just expected the same . Still take it all day over that terrible edge garbage)
