No. Its just the output of running the app on a stock bml rom. It generates some data and then he can use that. I would but I'm not on bml or stock.

So all you have to do is run the app which is in the xda thread. It'll prompt you to log.

Root is all you need. No need to logcat here. All you need to do is Odin to stock, root, and run the app and follow the instructions in the app

Done

Epic root on mac help!

Hey everyone want to say thanks in advance but I tryed to do the one click root on my mac but nothing works on the downlad. I'm running dk28 and I was wondering if there's a step by step video that shows how to root the dk28 epic? Thanks again for your help

Since you are on dk28b it seems that you can get odin to work on yur mac. I would suggest just flashing the stock dk28 ext that is pre rooted through odin, its in the dev section

There are no videos that I know of and your question is very vague. First of all, have you put your phone in USB debugging mode? If so, then try other USB ports and if that doesn't work try a different computer. That is the only help I can give you. If you are using the oneclickrootandrecovery made by Drockstar it is rock solid and very very easy to use.

Wow, just wow. Please don't respond to any more questions. Heimdall is the program for Macs but most people I've talked to cannot get it to work. If you have a newer Mac and want to continue flashing I would recommend getting a copy of Windows and using it to use Odin.

thanks...saw that one too, but didn't want to go through re-rooting and re-de-binging/de-bploating if Adryn went to all that trouble to do it for me...
i restored an older rom and copied the apk and the .odex file for it... see if I can get it back in the new rom

That does not revert the modem. To return to Sprint it needs to be completely stock so if someone has an EG22 modem they need to Odin the modem back to EC05.

very true... that will only work if yo uare on an EC05 rom
Small tid bit on ReRFS
ReRFS also drops CWM for recovery, so it's about 99% stock EC05.
I'm sure this would be extremely rare: If Sprint were thorough, they could check for stock recovery and see that you messed with the phone since CWM would be there.
Still a very useful tool/rom to have nonetheless.

There should be a link In the OP of that thread that removes cwm for 100% stock

I don't think that would matter as much...
The biggest need is the base with modem... and recovery so that we can flash custom roms AFTER that. the custom roms would then be deodexed, and, it time.... would be EXT4.
Noobnl has one posted since last nite repacked its just not deoxed

I would also like this. Just a clean base that is deodexed.

No.... that one doesn't include the modem. I realize you can separately load the modem, but that just doesn't seem very clean to me.
I don't understand what the holdup is of a smooth packed base.
I completely agree but its good enough to just get on gb and be rooted. So for time being its the best option to keep root and no bootlooping or some work arounds and a lot of flashing 50 things when you can just do 1 flash

We don't have the full modem.bin. all we have is the modem delta. So this is why the ec05 bin was included.
+1 and Deodexed.
That would be perfect. But I would rather sir on my froyo rom that has EVERYTHING I need and wait another week before some of these amazing developers get ahold of it. But it would be nice to have this as my base to start with. I liked it with 2.2

Nothing. We have the modem update file from the OTA, but that's all it is, an update, its not the complete Modem.bin file we need.

You will have official as soon as samfirmware releases it. Then it takes minutes to change recovery and root it. Samfirmware said they will look for it as soon as they finish work on their new site.

After Odin back, go to system updates and update profile. I did this and got the update about 3 minutes later. Could be coincidence, but it can't hurt to try
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
If your stock, just download the update directly from google. Put it on your sd card and boot into stock recovery and run it. It is essentialy the same thing as the ota.

Sounds about like here
We have the same situation. My wife got it today(didnt do the update) downloaded it went to CWM recovery and then the update of course failed. Now the update zip isnt even on her sdcard anymore. Is everything updated with the zip( such as kernel, modem, and rom etc.) or just the rom and modem.
I just downloaded, renamed to update. Powered off and booted in to stock recovery. Ran the zip and....wait for it...I have EI22! Thank you for your help!! Now time to root

Good luck with rooting your phone you will need it.
Good luck with rooting your phone you will need it.
Its easy now. Just flash the clockwork tar in odin, and don't boot the system because when you shut it down, you'll lose your root. You need to flash a kernel, like nubernal or house of samurai to get it to stick.

Is there a one click root for EI22 like EC05?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
No one click root is out for EI22, as far as I am aware of
From stock EC05, I just used odin to update the modem from ec05 to ei22, then used the one click root to install CWM 3.0.0.1, then used CWM to install my fav EI22 ROM
This Epic post as brought to you via Tapatalk
Thank you all so much for your help. I rooted this morning and now I am running ACS ICS v5 with the Samauri Kernel OC to 1.49!!! WOW, amazingly fast! I think my quadrant was just over 3200 this morning.
