Not sure, but...
If you have an android phone, you can use it as a wifi hotspot. Free with a custom rom.... as long as they don't catch you.

I've been searching and haven't been able to find an answer. My pc took a crap so now all I have is my Ubuntu set up. Is there anyway to tether my phone to it like I did with pdanet on my pc?

I second this. Also has anyone else noticed that wireless tether fails with linux? Or is this just me?

Using the tethering option in the settings wireless part works on chrome is so It should work on Linux.

The fact that it works on chrome means nothing however it does work in linux. I use it in Ubuntu 10.10.

I've tried to do so but failed.
You can try USB reverse tethering if you have a PC.
Or can use dial up if you have any cellphone(android or non android) with Bluetooth and internet enabled.
Ask me if you need help with that one.
To ashik992 why are you opening an old thread replied before I saw the date of the op post
If your referring to a 3g dongle see this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31759417

So I just moved in to a new place and so far I can't find my WiFi adapter for my PC computer.
To make things more of a pain, the router is to far for a cord..
So the question is, how can I use my Nexus 7 as a WiFi adopter for my computer? Can it even be done?

Is there any system requirements to root using kingo? Mine rooted just fine on a Windows 8 laptop but my brother is having issues with his Windows 7 laptop. Phone won't even give him the option to check USB 3.0. Is that option required for rooting? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I had some issues with my rooting using Win7. I was using the usb 3 cord then decided to try the regular usb. I used the Camera setting after connecting, so I had to switch it to that. After that it seemed to work alright.
