It seems every time I just putting the phone down I accidentally hit search. Is there a way to disable it?

Not to my knowledge unless you are running a custom rom. Have you checked the market for an app that does this?

Right, doesn't CM7 have this option? Or is it just for long pressing search?

Turn the volume down to vibrate using the vol buttons on side.
Hold minus down

Hey everyone. Just noticed this, but when you're in Gtalk you can swipe left and right to toggle between different chats you have open. Pretty useful if you're a gtalk user like me!

It may work that way in cm7 or other roms, but not in a Sense ROM....that's the issue...

I don't think anyone's ported that feature to Sense.
I wish someone would enable the other LED notification lights in a Sense ROM. That's what I miss from CM

there is not any option to stop from being spammed by att about the OTA update
2 soups :
un root and save you root with OTA keeper , and then update to 2.3.6 with the OTA
or
learn to live with it until ics appear at scene
good luck
If you are rooted, freeze the updater with TiBu.
