Hey everyone, this is my first post since joining.
I have a question regarding the linux installer. Available in the official market. A month or so ago I downloaded it and installed it not really knowing what it did but was like "hooray linux loop, now ill ne like all the cool devs" needless to say after a close call I now accept installing something without knowledge is dumb.
So here is the question im researching custom roms and all. Im already rooted and unlocked. I want to know if that linux loop I installed could lead to issues or a bricked phone when I attempt my first custom rom flash (after much more reading)
Thanks for the info everyone.

You should really do some searching - the search function will be your best friend. Assuming you are rooted and have a custom recovery installed, I would recommend installing AOKP from this thread and giving it a try.
Again, I would do some searching and READ A LOT. Not everyone is kind when it comes to random posts spamming up the forums.
Well aokp it's a really good rom but you should take into account the fack that the camera it's not working on any ics rom at the moment.
As for your question about the apps i find out that the best way it's to make a cwm back up and then using titanium back up pro (you have to spare some bucks) restore the apps + data that i want from the back up. Also you can make the back up using the free version before flashing the new rom.
Cheers!
Hi there helpful bunch out there its me with maybe and somehow a boring question for most of you but for me much guidance is needed. Here is what I have and then what I would like to accomplish.
I bought originally a packerd bell liberty tab g100 with stock android 3.something installed. As soon as Acer came with the ICS upgrade for the iconia a500, which is the same tab as you all ofc know, I installed that update with a very simple guide. Now year(s) later, and yes this brick isn't the best around but can't afford anything else so first would like a fresh install and second a upgrade while at it.
Now, I looked much on XDA and found a lot of text that made my head hurt and which I bravely tried to follow that guide but somehow it didn't work.
So now I have android 4.0.1 rooted and I would like to go to android 5 if that's even possible ofc.
Hope you smart people can help me to overcome this hurdle. Tnx

How to root non common phones get a custom recovery and custom rom
Hi guys
It is just recently when I've started learning more and more about the Android and the various things you can do with it. (This can be long so you may just want to skip to the last line) Until recently I've only used my phone only for it's basic functionality.
But I'm nowhere near a developer and I really want to learn more.
I have this device called Infocus M535 Android 6.0 (which is obviously not a popular device I'm sure a lot of you haven't even heard about it). And I just regret buying it. Cause I have tried a lot of rooting method but nothing seems to work for me. I've tried kingoroot, kingroot as well. Then I learned that you don't necessarily need to have root access to install a custom recovery like twrp but then there is no official version of it available. I've seen many people YouTube having twrp on this device, I tried asking them but no response from them.
I cannot even think about getting a custom rom for this thing because I know nobody is working on that. And tbh I don't even care about getting a custom rom. All I need is a way to root this thing.
I know this thing is old and I should get a new device but Please please please help me because I just can't afford getting a new phone.
Any help Will be really appreciated

Hi Everyone
I don't know if I am posting this thread in the right place and if I am not I apologise first. I own the Tablet mentioned in the title and something is bugging the hell out of me, I recently installed TWRP and then installed a no-verity mod or whatever they are called and also a gapps mod and finally a Android Rom. Can you tell I am a noob when it comes to this kind of thing. Anyway everything seemed fine and everything worked except Google thinks my Samsung is a Xioami which I am not really happy about, if I could change it so it comes back as the tablet it's supposed to be I would, but unfortunately I can't.
What I am asking is if any of you guys can link me a Latest G apps and No Verity and also a Pie Rom so I can put my tablet the way it should be I would be very grateful. I use Odin and that's the only way I know how to do this. I told you I was a noob,I have tried looking myself but have no idea where to look and what is stable and working hence me asking

"A rose by any other name, would smell as sweet." I don't understand why you are making such a big deal out the name. If you want to pass the safenet, it is NECESSARY. Your choice. Go back to stock, fail safetynet or accept the name change.
Or install another custom rom !
sir please help me... i flashed wrong phone startup logo zip on my tab A SM-T285 now my phone don't start.... only odin mode is working ..... sir please help me:crying::crying::crying::crying:
Forgive me if I post this in the wrong place, move it if necessary np.
Xda has been my go to for many many phones over the years. Many years. But recently I've grown a little deeper interest with the phone I currently own.
I need some clarity if anyone could please.
I've got a OnePlus 8 pro IN2025 on lineage 20 (whatever latest build in relation to the date on this post) and rooted with magisk 26.1.
Everything is running awesome. Even been able to remove a few Google system apps I despise.. this setup is reminiscent of a couple phones I've run on CM.. I thought those days were over.
So much appreciation to those keeping development alive. Much love.
To the point:
I'm trying to run as much of nethunter as possible without flashing it (and maybe I have the wrong idea so please correct me)
To my understanding, nethunter will require me downgrading to Android 12 with some other ROM - crdroid etc..
Flash twrp\ nethunter - then I have the nethunter ROM installed.
Problem is, I'm still a little attached to some Google stuff. I limit it, but there that is.
I've got the Kali app store installed and a few toys I can play with -
Question is, when I flash nethunter, is it like flashing any other ROM? Thats it. Or is there an equivalent to a "USB live version" that's temporary.. have I gone as far as I can without flashing?
I'm not interested in getting rid of lineage in favor of nethunter.
Thanks in advance. You guys are awesome!
