Nand Flashing - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I would like to know if this is the correct method to install Runnymead Nand Android;
So i do this:
Install Magldr
Format card with fat and ext4
Put Rom.zip in fat32
USB flasher mode in magldr
Change value in flash.cfg for partitions, located in same folder where DAF.exe is
Install DAF.exe
Then enter AD recovery
Click install from sd
Select ROM on sd card
Wait...
Android, when lockscreen comes up please dont unlock but wait about 10 minutes, then do the setup, then let it lock itself again and give it 10 more minutes.

Yes that is correct,happy flashing

So what should I do now?
I already partition my sd with 512M and Swap size is 256..
You have to partition your nand also.in the first page of nand development there is ksubedi s hd2 nand tool kit, download and setup it in pc.then connect your hd2 to pc,in mgldr menu choose usb flasher, then in toolkit choose in mgldr repartition size custom and cache size 5, then at the bottom click repartition,a window will open write 180 and ok. When partitioning finishes flash the rom.btw 512mb sd-ext size may not be enough for the chosen rom you better use 1.5-2 gb,and reduce swap to a lower value or to 0.

What are your partition sizes? Particularily sense roms require a large partition. If your partition isn't large enough for the system, it will not boot.
Edit: Sorry I just reread where you said you partition is correctly.
Make sure your downloading the correct rom ?? Sorry I'm not much help on this.
Yeah, i partitioned it right 1024 and 0 swap, Sense roms give me a status 0 error and non sense give me that no boot sources error on MAGLDR

Yea that's exactly what I meant if your system isn't partitioned correctly there will be boot problems every time. Search for "HD2 Toolkit" it makes it so much easier.
Task 29
Then install magldr or clk with the correct system partitions.*most important part*
Install clockwork mod
Flash your rom
Reboot and it should start fine.

Flashed Hspl3 choose spl 2.08 after that was done flashed magldr then installed CWM via SD and portitioned the SD? Not sure about system. Swap 0 as it said in instructions. Flashed zip and I get the errors. Could someone tell how to task 29. Isn't that a nand wipe?

I'm on my phone so I can't give you the specific link. If you go to the guide in my signature I have a link to hd2 toolkit. You need this program. It will solve your problems because your system partitions are not correct. Swap and things like that matters but its on your SD card. Your problem is with the internal partitions.
Download the program I promise its worth it. If you don't like it delete it but at least try it so you can boot and experience android on nand.
If you want to use clk my guide might help you with that to.

I don't know if I can ask my question in this topic, but I think partitioning is part of my issue. On my HD2, I installed Ice Cream Sandwich Beta7. Used Magdlr. At first it won't booit into android either, but that was because I used the recovery_1.3400MB. Later I used the 250MB.
But then I got problems with installing apps: Internal space was insufficient. So I read this topic:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20577589 See page 12.
So I followed these steps:
Backup your SD card data (and prefferably nandroid backup your rom) and use recovery to repartition your SD.
Go to recovery, advanced, Partition SD Card
Partitioning to 1024 works wel, but 2048 won't. I don't know why, cause it's a 2GB sd card. But after partitioning, Android isn't using the space on the sd-card.
I can manually copy apps to the SD card, but it still gives errors about insufficient internal memory......
2gb=2000mb that's a problem if only using a 2gb for partitioning over 2gigs xD

Actually 2GB = 2048 MB...
But still the question is; when I choose 1024, why doesn't android use this partition as extra storage?? So why am I getting errors of insufficient space?
Check your properties on the SD because they usually lie to you about how much storage it is. Its rarely plain out too gigs

@LinChina
i think recovery(CWM) only makes EXT3 but i'm not really sure about that, your best bet is use a pc that can have those warez on it
or this, if you can place & unzip the file in your NB
3a Use the provided 4EXT recovery (NAND or SD version) to create the partitions and format them.

Now I know ..but the first post is for people who don't have magldr or android on nand....SD recovery is not needed when you have cwm recovery inbuilt in magldr
Easy steps
1. Use minitool partition manager on PC to make sdext4 partition (cwm makes only ext3 ..so is not useful)
2. Copy your favorite native SD rom zip folder to SD card
3. In magldr ..go to ad recovery..install zip from SD...then follow instructions ..default path install is SD ext
4. Reboot
Enjoy

Hi everyone, it only looks that I'm a new user, it's because i've never posted anything before. I have Hd2 for almost 2 years from now and like 1,5 year being passive user on XDA. Anyway I do have problems that i can't manage myself. OP asked a dumb question, only if he has Android Nand or Windows Mobile, however... nobody ever tried making it work with WP7? I've been working on it few hours and don't have a clue how to do it. I've deleted my FAT32 partition and split it into Fat32+Ext4. If EXT is logical, WPH boots and show "Storage Card not working", but if it's primary it doesn't even boot. Is there anyway to solve this thing? Any help much appreciated, thanks.

Is there a way to use NativeSD? even better with multiboot?

yes, you must replace the 2 files...
why you can't see the folder: check on a PC, if the folder has hidden attribute... or try to create a new folder, copy all files from the old to the new, delete old and rename new folder...

Why I do not see the folder? I ask my self the same question and I don't know why, anyway my card is recognized and the folder is there, if will be hidden I will not see the folders, I also put different card into my hd2 with different folders and still the same. I think the 4EXT recovery make something wrong with partitions or I do.

booting multiple native sd roms ?

hi dear friends .. maybe this has been mentioned befor but really i couldnt understand how to do it .
i have an 8 gb sandisk micro sd card. am aware how to boot one native sd rom on it by copying its zip folder and the recovery folder to my fat partition ( after creating 2nd ext4 partition) and installing the rom through the recovery and aroma installer.
my question is: i want a simple explanation how to put more native sd roms on that sd card a be able to boot any one of them when i wish?
am sorry if this sounds silly.. but really i couldnt do it . thanks in advance .

If 6GB is enough for your storage, then do 2GB EXT4 partition, install first NativeSD ROM, then if you want a second NativeSD ROM, just flash the second one the same way as you did the first, then load the NativeSD Multi Boot application when booted into Android and press Switch Rom, click on the ROM you want eg. NexusHD2/PAC/CMTight or whatever you want and then reboot.
you just flash the next NativeSD to ext4 & use the NativeSDBootV7 to select which ROM you want to boot next. check out the link below, it might help.
is it that simple! just re-flash the 2nd rom to the same fat32 partition without doing extra ext4 partitions.. then boot into it! ok will give it a try soon. thanks so much

The EXT4 partition is for the ROM's, the FAT32 partition is for basically the user data that the applications create example. if you're using Sygic Maps, it'll store the map the data on the FAT32 partition.
Just make sure you're using NativeSD not Nand when in the Aroma Installer.

[Q] No boot after flashing NexusHD2 ICS-CM9-HWA v. 2.9a native SD

Hello, I want to have ICS on my HD2, I followed the video tutoral for installing but at the end I can only see the HTC on a white ground.
Here are my steps:
- format of sd with SD Formatter,
- with MiniTool sd formatted in FAT32 primary (25 GB) and ext4 primary (4 GB),
- copied extracted recovery 4ext 2.2.7 on sd,
- copied ROM on sd,
card into HD2,
- Tookit: wipe all data and install MAGLDR 1.13,
in MAGLDR go to 10 Services, 1 Boot Services, 3 AD Direction, choosing ext4, back to 2 Boot AD SD,
then install zip from sd, choose zip, ROM.
Aroma installer: choose native sd = installing. After last NEXT back to MAGLDR to 10 Services, 1 Boot Settings, 3 AD SD Direction, choose native sd, back to 2 AD SD direction.
The boot process looks good up to the HTC on white ground.
I think I´ve made somewhere a mistake but I dont know where. So please help.

It should not need to "fix permissions".
You mean that you only get to the white screen with green HTC letters? You don't even get to magldr when booting normally? Then I don't think it's a problem with sd card, and you could try system repartition. From toolkit, choose magldr repartition, on the phone choose AD recovery in magldr.
This also reinstalls recovery.

No boot after flashing Nexus HD2 ICS.CM9-HWA v. 2.9a native SD
Thanks jvzijp. I thought that I don´t need a MAGLDR repartition for installing as native sd. I think I give it a try later on. I think there are too many video examples for flashing and that confuses.
Yesterday evening I´ve installed the ROM as NAND with MAGLDR repartition, with DAF.exe without partitioning the sd card. And as I can see most of it works. And I have a free space of internal memory of about 650MB, thats enough for me.
BUT: I have a weak WiFi-connection.
I´ve learned from other threads that most of the roms of ICS and JB have this problem. Is there a solution possible? I´ve looked at Play Google but there are so many apps. :silly:
I don't know whether repartition is needed for nativesd but worth a shot..
You'll probably not run out of memory soon. If that is the case, I recommend dataonext option.
I haven't noticed wifi problems, only on tytung's jb 4.2
