Cellular Radio 1.08.01.0111, new touchscreen firmware.
Not sure why but WiMAX radio 27243 for Evo is included in this zip from HTC.
Either way drop the PG06IMG.zip on the root of your sdcard, hold volume down and press the power button and release while holding down the volume down button.
A white screen will come up asking you if you want to update. If it doesn't ask, choose bootloader. Say yes and it will update your phone. This has been tested on multiple phone and works.

Doesnt work. Bootloader goes through the motions of looking for the update files, but never finds them on the SD card. Not sure what to do from here.

Wimax 27243 is for the Evo, not the shift. Latest Wimax for shift is 27240.
Gotcha, so that is a yes I need to flash 27240 after this ZIP then. Correct?

Please check your 4G firmware version. You should not have to flash it IIRC.
Just for my own peace of mind, do you have an md5 sum for this?

no and i JUST got mine done. i couldnt thank the creator of that guide more... it works flawlessly IF you follow directions. it WILL be time consuming. with this phone, you better not worry about trying to save apps because you will be basically bouncing between ROMs while you get this done. wiping the phone, RUU to stock OTA unrooted, root, wipe and install 2.2... hack the crap out of the eMMC chip, etc... its a lot of work, but really its worth it. i will upload a screenshot of my CM7 phone, running ICS theme for ADW Launcher, which is the basis for CM7. i didnt even HAVE to flash a new radio. it worked from the gate. WiMax / 4G, everything. i just decided to flash it because its newer.
here is a screenshot of what i have so far for my Evo Shift 4G. its the CM7 Stable ROM running ICS theme for ADW.

They are all there in supercurio's thread. Take three seconds to find it instead of asking to be spoon fed. Additionally, the kernel is for TESTING purposes. If you don't even know how to Odin a kernel or find a tar format kernel then you shouldn't be flashing test kernels. Learn how to take care of yourself or don't flash test kernels.

Hello..I would like to ask if anyone here could make a flashable .zip ile that would revert partitions to the samsung stock type, as if done via odin..I wanted to try cm7, but at times i go for weeks away from home and do not have my pc/laptop for alot of that time to use odin..So if there was a such .zip i could just flash that, and then any samsung based custom rom (that is because cm7 changes partitions).Thank you.

If you are on CM7 or MIUI, you must flash a stock rom with Odin + pit/repartition in order to restore the partitions to Samsung's BML instead of the MTD layout used in CM7.
I think this request is a great idea although I'm not sure it it's possible.

MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP ANY USEFUL INFORMATION OR APPS FROM YOUR PHONE, BECAUSE YOUR ROM IS GOING TO BE WIPED.
First download the attachment. Remove the numbers from the name of the file so that it is renamed PC36IMG and place this on the root of your SD card. Power off the phone, then boot into your bootloader by holding the volume down and power buttons at the same time. Accept the update. If everything went OK, that should get rid of that Revolutionary at the top of your bootloader and flash the phone back to S-ON.
Next remove the file from your SD card by either rebooting your phone or going into your RECOVERY. I'm not going to give all the details for this.
Next, download this file.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VSFLE9CD
Rename it PC36IMG, place it on your SD card and follow the same steps as you did with the first PC36IMG file.
Let me know if that worked, because how to unroot the phone has seemed to be forgotten around here. Everyone is just happy to root.

That doesn't work completely for Gingerbread.
You can downgrade the ROM back to Froyo, but the S-ON tool will not work with the new bootloader, and the bootloader will not downgrade by running any of the PC36IMG Froyo files or RUUs if Revolutionary was used to turn S-OFF.
Assuming that you mean to unroot and regain S-OFF on an Evo 4G that was rooted using Revolutionary...
It seems that this has been worked out.

You need to flash an unrooted stock ROM to roll back your HBOOT to an upgradable version. I assume you used the modded 6.17 HBOOT to S-ON, but didn't flash a stock ROM to restore your HBOOT to stock?
Because the modded HBOOT is a higher version number than Revolutionary, most likely it believes you're already rooted.
I used RUU to update my phone to latest stock Rom and flashed the attachment on this thread

You essentially have two options:
- Run the RUU (ROM Update Utility) for the latest stock ROM on your PC
- Flash the latest stock ROM, in PC36IMG.zip format through FastBoot
Files for either/both of those can be found in my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17206283&postcount=5

Should be the new Market
It hits a lot of system apps and framework. If you wanna inspect it, check for updates and, when it arfives, look for the zip in /cache. I copied it over to internal sdcard and installed it manually through recovery. Oh, btw, it looks like it updates recovery so if you apply it you may have to reinstall your recovery of choice.
Update: didn't see an update to Market but I saw updates to Maps, Gmail, Launcher, Settings and YouTube among lots of others. Dunno what the changes are, could be driven by the updates go frameworknl or they could be just bug fixes.

Has anyone with a US wifi only flashed this yet? Any issues?
i dono why. i don understand at all. why do we need to flash this, reboot, flash this and that, and then flast this......
come on! i am now in LP5 by just flashing the factoryfs and zImage, followed by a wipe and that's all!! why do we need to care about the boot loader? and why to concern about to repartition it or not? pls, do it your way. flashing a rom is only a file copy process!!
i respect all ppls' work. but for me, i prefer to let the user happy by flashing a rom or finishing a task in one single step.
New installation steps for ICS Stunner @ Stunner Topic. Much Simple.
These steps didn't work for LP1 based ROM and it broke root previously.

My understanding is that If you flash the bootloader you will risk bricking your phone also no way to revert back to GB.
Does your simple way preserve root and allow for an easy way back to GB? If it does could you provide some simple, fool-proof instructions? Thanks.
We're finally seeing developers include kernel and modem files in their ROMS, so it's getting easier...before it was, "flash this base, reboot, wipe, flash this base, reboot, flash this base, flash it again and reboot, flash my ROM 2x, reboot 2x, enjoy. Repeat from beginning if you messed up." Okay, so a little over the top, but that's what it felt like to me. I'm definitely happy with the progress being made!
actually all i wanted is to push the rom makers to go a step further, by telling them that even by just flashing the zimage and system will do so they should provide proper script to run the installation automatically. i am glad to see the procedures become simplier. but on the other hand i hope ppl will pay more time to prepare the installation steps and be user friendly

root permissions can be retained or restored. back to gb is totally possible. it all depends on the rom makers to make it or not
