Which is it? JTG? Evervolv? kush?
Using JTG 3.0 but the gallery can get quirky, and I heard there was full hardware acceleration out right now.
If JTG 4.0 has full hwa, where is it?
none, ive tried all 3 and theyre all buggy as hell, just wait till cm9. im about to flash miui.
I believe FULL HWA so unavailable on Evo 4g. I been running evervolv p7 as DD for weeks and no reboot or FC. I like it a lot.

No it's not. Our hardware simply isn't supported yet. Perhaps once a new kernel is built we'll be close, but none of the EVO builds have it currently. Unless Jared's ROM is using a different kernel than the others, which I highly doubt.
i'd say off the bat ics is still very much under development.
Decks is pretty damn good cept video is real iffy (personally at least) and trebuchet (launcher that comes with it) needs to be replaced with nova or you will wanna throw your phone on how many force closes you get from the launcher.
JTG is pretty good but still has its bugs here and there but comes stock with nova atm (looking at maybe apex which is new for the next release but we shall see) so it is a bit more stable to get going.
evervolv's i have not had much time with so i cant say too much but i'd say its pretty on par with JTG from what i've heard
i am currently running JTG as my daily for now
I've tried all 3 (drew's, Evervolv P7 and JTG 2.5/3) and IMO P7 ran the best. Was using it as a daily driver until one day I started getting a ton of lag, FC's, and navigation didn't work.
ICS on Evo has a long way to go will we get a proper kernel. I'm back on MIUI for stability.
Can someone send me the jdt link
Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I also ran all three and evervolv p7 is the best.. But don't expect any support.. Preludedrew never replies on twitter, at least not to me even when I give him a nice shout out.. He does stay on top and offer a decent irc channel but mostly for tp. Luckily I have supersonic and tenderloin. But I run cm9 on touchpad and it's amazing ps I've never had an fc on either evervolv for evo or cm9 on tp. I have had launcher close a few times like 9 pages in on widgets for evervolv. All in all its by far best ics for og evo
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using xda premium
I tried both preludedrews and JTGs ICS roms...for me, I thought JTG's (beta 3.0 at least) was better although there were some screen issues I had to deal with. I was however running the ROM using Boot Manager, so that may've had something to do with it.
I'm definitely looking forward to testing 4.0 or 4.5 to see how it runs with full HWA. If it's as promising as I heard, I may stick to using it as a daily.
There is no Best rom. A search would have shown you this.

I have ran evervolv in the past but have been running the latest versions of CM7 for about 4 months, I love all the customization options, but I do get some quirks, and random reboots etc.. occassional lag
I am wondering what you guys would recomend as far the fastest and most stable GB rom
Evervolv? Evo deck? MIUI? etc?

CM7 is ok, kernel that comes with it is horrible though. Nightlies are better than their stable release.
Deck has been extremely stable and I've had zero hiccups with it. Basically identical to cyanogen.
I agree with cares deck is extremely stable I really like it
but I love miui look

Deck is awesome, much faster/reliable than CM has ever been for me. Though after moving to an area with no 4G I switched to MIUI and I absolutely love it.
Deck's is without question the best for my phone. I've kept it running longer than any other ROM.

I'd love to use MIUI but the no 4G on it is a deal breaker Deck's has been a lot faster and stable than CM was for me on my Evo. I'd skip CM all together and just try Deck's if you want an AOSP ROM.
From my understanding Deck's is CM7 with everything stripped out except for EVO specific features/kangs. That may or may not make it faster, I dont know because Ive never used it, but that is my understanding of the difference.
I rock CM7 Nightlties...I get at least 1day 5hrs minimum now...lol
+1 to decks ...Neva had had reboot on it and GPS works flawlessly

Not necessarily true, it is majorly based off of CM7. If you read the post for the deck rom it has other things pulled from other GB rom's as well. It's certainly not just a "renamed CM7" because it works for me a lot better stability wise. He has also fixed a lot of things that CM7 hadn't. Not knocking the CM team whatsoever because we wouldn't have Deck's if it wasn't for them.
What ever helps you sleep at night........

Just to add my two cents... I run cm7, I enjoy the bloat and custom settings. No, deck is not cm7. A lot of roms use stuff from cyanogen just because he and his team do so much work. However you have to give credit to Deck for his rom being a compilation of his own. Like it was said read the opening post for his rom and you will see.
If you want super clean basic gingerbread that you can do whatever customization you want go with deck. If you want gingerbread that has been tweaked and had included tweaks options go cm7.
I will give props to savaged zen here as well. Very similar to cm7, but not the same! I love the included kernel tweaks, no need for script but less customizable. It is awesome that a Dev would include a custom kernel specifically built around their rom.
Honestly we have such awesome choices for gingerbread and they keep getting better. Try them all and find out which suits your needs best.
EVO 0003, CM7 stable, Tiamat, Vipermod, V6 Supercharger.

to OP:
I've been trying a lot of roms lately too. For AOSP, go with Decks 1.2. Its lightweight, fast and pretty awesome. If you want sense, do a search for Synergy Nightlies and you'll find what your looking for. Another good alternative is MikG 2.0
I've been rocking Deck since the pre release of 1.0. But in the last couple of weeks have been trying out the Sense 2.1+3.0 hybrids. After flashing MikG/Alliance, I haven't really had the desire to go back to AOSP.
I've had CM7 for awhile and today i had an important place to go to but the GPS was so spotty i couldn't get to it and i read this post and decided to flash Decks and i gotta say the GPS works flawless and the stability is just superb.

Thank you, thank you..
I was wanting to test out the cam quality, so i did an update to ics for everyone.. :]
Yeah, Ics runs awesome on this thing... I was shocked at how smooth it runs, yet intrigued at how heavy the os really is under the hood..
There are definitely a lot of great features.
We've got some thanking to do for all the Devs and modders who are involved.
I've been running this for a few days now - runs great. A wallpaper hack would be nice, but that's just being picky hah.
Even though it's in Alpha, it still runs like a dream. It's been my daily for a week without issue.

Completely agree with you on that one. I can wait until something solid comes out, and believe me, I'm on here every day to be one of the first on the jump.
thanks for the video.
I am currently on CM7 and i am just wondering what rom everyone is running. And why they are running it like whats the pro's and con's to the other roms i am very happy with cm7 just wanting to know about everything else.
Very broad question. No real clear answer. If yer looking to stay with non-gingerbread based, I would suggest Neutrino, as its new, maintained, and is built on cm7 weekly 4. Highly themed,/ customized, and very fast. If yer looking for a stock experience, the new 2.3.6 version of gingerbread is available to flash in the fruitcake section and there is a rom called Gingermod built from it.

Cm9 kang. Honestly not that unstable, using it for 2 days now and its fine. Great breath of fresh air for my atrix

Neutrino 1.4-S EE because it's slim, sexy, fast and compact. It's also based on CM7 and Faux's Kernel(s), which pretty much covers all the bases for me.
MIUI once it is more stable. i use it because i love themes and it is super smooth. good luck. try everything for yourself and see what fits you best.
LiGux fore sure
Thanks AtriXDA Developers!!!
Galnet MIUI ICS , it's speed is unmatchable.
Pros: ICS Framework, speed, and great battery life. Oh and because its MIUI
Cons: Poor game support for some reason :/ I'm assuming its because of the ICS Framework but not sure.
Overall my favorite rom so far
Definitely go with Neutrino 1.4 EE-S, great battery life, smooth ROM, and extremely fast!
Aura here! I think CM7 will be the best rom, but still unstable until final version.
I use CM7 weekly #4 at the moment, mostly because of (a) power control in notifications, (b) lockscreen gestures, and (c) skip tracks using volume long-press. If any Blur-based ROM had those features I'd switch back to Blur, for WebTop (and conversely would not consider switching if CM had WebTop or HDMI mirroring).
Neutrino looks like it could be good, but to be honest I'm always wary of ROMs that promise to be "faster", "more stable" or "better battery life" than CM or Stock. 9 times out of 10 I don't notice a difference

Yup. I have noticed slightly better battery life than CM7 Weekly 4. It just seems to work fine and fast with no hiccups.
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I highly agree. Its impossible to be faster that stock cm7.I hate how a Dev uses I'm faster than your rom techniques. Miui for me. Nuetrino and others promise so much but its so plain and buggy. Might as well have bling with my bugs

Darkside. It is incredibly smooth and trouble-free, supports as much or as little of Blur that I want, supports all features of the Atrix 4G, and has absolutely incredible battery life. Additionally, the developer is very responsive to requests and is diligent with upgrades.
For the Atrix I recommend the Neutrino rom:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398819
He took cm7 and ripped out all the bloat for the Atrix
I also think that the Neutrino Rom is the best. I am excitedly awaiting ICS, but for now, Neutrino EE is what I am using.
Neutrino. Everything works unlike other roms right now

Darkside for me. I loved cm7 but lapdock requires a Motorola Rom. Darkside is the most up-to-date with a superb developer.
For those who need lapdock functionalities, it's wonderful. I also feel the battery life is better than cm7.

And why! Don't just drop a ROM name. Mention which are your favorite features and which other ROMs you might have tried. Maybe this thread will stop the questions "what's the best ROM". Basically it was always asking "what ROM are you using" Because those were the results.
So far legendary has been the best for me! I have tried out thunderhawk (laggy for me) mostly stock (too stock for me)... well let's just say I have tried them all and I always end up back to legendary... it has the perfect balance of themeing, stability, and performance IMO!

Went from Stock EI22 Gingerbread to CleanGB (MTD) to CM7. CM7 rocks!

Roms used
So far I have used Marcusants ASC roms 5.1 - His V.2 was a fan of the speed, but just not stable. And I'm not a fan of V.2 with the red color theme. I have also Tried MIUI 1.12.23 which worked good, but i like having the app drawer which this did not. I am currently running CleanGB 1.03 with no issues. It is a stable rom, running 4g without issues and installed gtalk w/video. Next on the list is the new CM7 version which seems to have gotten Wifi stable as well as 4g working.
I have to test out all the roms and supply to all the friends/family that have the epic so they dont end up calling me for every error they get
Legendary RC 2.1 rocking my allblue theme on MTD.
CleanGB MTD is a great ROM. No problems, good battery life. Love it

Again, there is no "best rom". Everyone has their own opinion, and everyone has different wants/needs in a rom. Since you are rooted, just try out a few. That's the benefit of flashing roms, just make a backup, and if you dont like a new rom, flash another or reload your backup.

I can't get AOKP to run more than a minute (literally) without a random reboot and I have flashed my share of ROMs. Plus last I checked AOKP doesn't have everything working.
Your best bet for stable fully functional ROM is MikG3.0.
I'm liking AOKP but it still has some minor issues (being ICS, it's no surprise). I expect it to be my daily once everything is ironed out.
I'm using a tweaked CM7 for daily use, but I also really like the Mik roms.
