the app is launching on a few htc and samsung devices at the end of feb.
one of these is the galaxy s. since the specs of the galaxy s are similar to the streak, we should be able to install the apk!

With the amount of time Sky have spent getting this software on Android, I think its fair to assume that it will be pretty seriously locked down and only available to unrooted stock versions of the devices listed unfortunately.
Would be cool if we can though!
Doesnt seem to work. Has anyone got it working on dell streak and if so how?
+1
I only have sky news using the app from this thread.

Guys I m new in the forums so please bare with me..I was about to place my order for nexus one it was sold out,,now I don't clearly know the reasons why they stoppd selling it..but couldn't get a good deal anywhere,in amazon its about 600-650$ .is it worth the buy?as I have a feeling froyo my be last update for nexus and no more..and suggest me some good alternatives please..
Sent from my GT-I5700 using XDA App
Froyo will NOT be the last update for the nexus, gingerbread won't be last update for nexus either
But good alternatives, I would say samsung galaxy s, but don't expect updates from samsung, froyo prob will be last update for galaxy s, it will be the community that provides updates on it
Motorola looks like it will lock down all of its future android phones, so I can't recommend them
Any new htc android will be the best choice I think

Support for a costly product which I get to buy once in a while is must,,galaxy s is a real good phone but without a smooth interface and I don't expect frequent bug fixes from Samsung(I use a galaxy spica I hate samsung for no updates), how about the htc desire?
Edit: saw some videos about no multitouch but only 2 finger support (pinch to zoom only)for nexus and desire, and the faulty multitouch on both devices,do they really matter in real usage?

Just register as a developer ($25) then buy a nexus one when they're back in stock ($520 + tax).. and to answer your question: yes, it's worth it

I dont know if the dev version is better, but it wont be worse.
And should you buy a Nexus One? All I will say is this:
Im playing Final Fantasy VII right now with the new Playstation1 emulator on my Nexus at FULL SPEED WITH SOUND.

Can i get a link to that emulator and ff7
Muchas grassy ass
I don't think any phone is worth that much.
I did TONS of shopping around and waiting and ended up getting a Nexus One for 350 through Craigslist.
I'm insanely happy with my buy, but if you need one ASAP, just register as a Dev
I have one for sale on ebay cheaper than that but its on locked and on T-Mobile bands

Honestly I would probably spend that much for the nexus simply cause I think its the best on the market still simply because its the Google developer phone. Clean vanilla android, updates right from Google, will get gingerbread, and its the best build quality still out there.
Or buy mine currently in the XDA Market forum.
I'll happily ship anywhere

Yeah, the htc desire would be good, because essentially its just a nexus one internally, only difference is buttons, optical sensor (instead of trackball) and 64 mb more ram and of course sense ui.

You can go to https://www.google.com/accounts/Ser...sh&followup=http://market.android.com/publish and register as a developer. It is a one time $25 fee
The HTC Desire is getting Froyo with 720p recording. Is the Nexus One going to get that officially from Google?
is there a way to get HTC desire in Canada
Hello,
Is there a way to order and get HTC desire in Canada?
I will be interested to get this one (HTC sense is a cool option to have)

Hi folks ..I am very new to android and jus moved from the blackberry...miss the ease of use though ..I am trying to get used to the dell streak...especially the keyboard...
I got the phone ..paid to get it unlocked ..then as suggested in the forums ...rooted the phone.
With all the noise that dell is coming up with the froyo for dell streak ...I wanted to know if I will get the update even if my phone is rooted ..
Iam sorry if this is a repeat question.....
thank u all for all the excellent dedicated effort and support to make the life of dell streak users better ..

Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Get better keyboard from the app store

If you ate still running the stock 1.6 then you will get the update and if by any strange reason you do not then I am sure the update will be on here in a matter of hours

Thanks ...feels confident that I am eligible for the upgrade to froyo

Gotta wait for 2.3 Gingerbread or wait for Steve to port the Camera app over to 2.2

Depends which application you are using, oovoo works with front camera, I have spoken to both fring and tango devs and they say they are actively working on a fix for the streak. Unfortunately the tango app dev said he can't get his streak to froyo yet so he's waiting on the upgrade : smirk:

That's the new Plus.
Does anyone know if this tmobile 7" plus is going to able to make phone calls from the start? I've been looking for this answer for a while, but couldn't find anything on it... But it does seem like the tmobile version is not going to allow it from the get-go, as there is no mentioning of this capability anywhere...
Someone more knowledgeable chime please!
well since the one I'm on now took the geniouses here at xda to make calls I'm gona go out on a limb and say no calls.

It has the capability and I haven't read anything to suggest T-Mobile will Bogart this from happening. I have the wifi 16 GB version and it's great, but it does have the looking of a phone with an ear piece that I haven't found any function for yet aside from the assumed ability of the T-Mobile version to call out. Great, great device from the original 7 Plus!

Here is the official link on T-MOBILE

Im willing to bet phone is disabled. If not I will leave streak 7 for this. Or wait until xda gets it working. Ive asked tmobile and samsung, both are avoiding the question, samsung says: we can not speculate..
judging from the tmobile ad photo, there is no phone icon on home screen, where as samsung photos have it.
I guess we could always buy one from Europe where it will likely have voice calls...
have to wait and see..

Better yet we need to find a leak for that 3.2 OS!! Like a system dump.
There's already a thread here on it:

Samsung should get it before we do.
And Samsung has already told us the list of devices going to be upgraded to ICS by Samsung, our phone was not in the list.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
yeah, don't know how many times i've read that. the list is of phones they have so far checked and will definitely be getting it. they have not published any lists of phones not getting it. if our phones not listed then it is yet to be confirmed or denied. give it time. hope i'm not proven wrong but i believe we will get it officially, and that i'll have been using it for months by then.
