After XDA mods have pushed another DEV away with the recent events on ptfmedic's Autism blog voting thread, in site of all the threads that have nothing to do with Epic. Tell them here that you want an off-topic thread!

I agree, I do personally think you're correct.
I do also think its a fine idea for all phone forums going forward though.

How many moderators do we have for the epic section? Is it just a had full of moderators for all areas of xda? Just seems like moderators are popping out of nowhere? Funny thing is haven't even heard of such people and posts are being closed left and right.

How about a Epic chit chat forum so they can throw all the threads in there....like this one.. I do not like seeing them. I want to see Epic threads.
All the vote for me...go click this..charity messages need to go. Everyone has issues whether it be physical, financial or whatever, nobodys life is perfect. If everyone decided to start a thread about their relatives sickness or some bill they got hit with this place would be 10 times the mess that it is now.
I am fine with the charity stuff in your signatures as they can be shut off.

I vote for immediate deletion of any threads that don't fall under the category named in the title of the forum - so if it isn't Epic related, it should be in another section. If it isn't smart phone related, it belongs on a completely different website.
As far as social topics, XDA has no need to compete with facebook/google+/etc...

Phones that have no place having a forum in here have them, but the Atrix 2 doesn't? why? it's the successor of a great phone. Even if it's not the best phone ever, it still deserves a forum.

The question you should be asking is "why is this thread here? Why am I double posting into different sections of a forum including the dev forum? Why am I not using this thread?"

Because I've already used that thread, and we still don't have forums.

The "Occupy Atrix" approach isn't going to help you! Give XDA a chance. The phone just came out, has a relatively small following at the moment, and there are many phones which could use their own forum. Comments like "Phones that have no place having a forum in here have them" will get you nowhere!

I've never heard of the admins putting a forum up by force so you might want to rethink your strategy. I want the forum just as bad as you do but apparently its gonna take some time........and alot more votes!

I don't mind Atrix 2 threads in the Atrix forums, but I do NOT like the whining. If you have not voted, go do it. If you have then please have some courtesy and STFU about it.

I know the Atrix 2 was just recently released but they have forums for devices that aren't even being sold yet. They have a forum for the Sony tablet that has a total of 3 bs threads in the dev section. To me it's xda being biased towards a phone that's only being sold in the states. That's only my opinion of course, but it's been long enough. I honestly hope that requests keep coming.

XDA makes threads based on PERCEIVED popularity. The Toshiba Thrive did not have a forum for a while after release. (Along with others)
Get off your discrimination crap and learn to:
A) use another site
B) use the atrix forum with a [atrix 2] tag
C) vote and wait.
I'm not trying to be rude but these threads are annoying and serve no purpose but to make Atrix 1 users wish you would just leave our boards. If you want to discuss your phone here that's cool. If you just want to annoy people please do so elsewhere.

Lets just stop feeding this thread and just simply report it - along with any other ones that pop up. This is the ATRIX 1 Forum. Not the ATRIX 2 Forum, so all those with the A2 - have a little respect and stop cluttering OUR Forum.

Oh lord. Guys, just stop whining, all of you. The A2 is only gonna get a forum if it gets enough votes, simple as that. So figure out a way to generate the necessary votes and make it happen. As for the "this is the Atrix forum, not Atrix 2", c'mon guys, its still an Atrix. I understand ur tired of the whining, I get it, but u know you guys would be bitter if you were in our shoes. I begged The_Scotsman for an Off-Topic subforum for the Epic but was told no other device has that and they were not going to start a precedent here. There is one general off-topic thread for Android and that's it. So we are stuck with off-topic posts in General. Shouldn't prevent people from helping out though.

It takes requests to head moderators to have a new forum made. There is a main off-topic forum here

But I don't think you will get the exposure this needs. It is more troublesome when 10 people make new threads on "How to stop OTA notifications" rather than threads like this but that doesn't seem to irritate the same people as a single thread like this does.

Thanks for informing us of this terrible situation. Hopefully XDA as a whole can have a bigger impact on this little girl and her family, than we will ever know!

Don't post them in the first place is the easy answer. Call me crazy but when I come to the Epic General section I expect to read about general epic topics not some vote for me threads, help me with my family issues I created, or donate to me, etc. All the nonsense just drives folks away.

No kidding! I understand getting frustrated by an off topic post from time to time, but when it is something like this, deal with it. XDA is supposed to be a community. I don't know about you, but in my "communities" we help others when we can. Like the Milkman said, the title was very clear. If the topic is of no interest to you, keep it moving.

I get where this guy comes from, he has a point. Then again, just like with EVERY other friggin post that the resident forum police go into to talk their crap... if you don't like it, don't fking click it! Don't read it! Most of all, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!
Its not hard.

Man That sucks if I had a job I would donate. But for the guy who thinks there needs to be a different spot for this thread then contact the admin of the forum and ask for an entire Subforum for Charities.

No development due to lack of exposure, lack of exposure due to no development?!

I feel like the way sites like this and rw hide this device are preventing development. What is it going to take to change the way this device is hidden? Will more people whining and driving up the post count help? That is a completely serious question about why we are ignoring a device with great hardware and an unlocked bootloader.

Careful posrting a link to bleh that giot me a 5 point infraction a few months back. And to the op that is why there is no development on xda for the Thrive . Between the forum policies and the whiners and demanders the devs have moved to that forum site . So my only suggestion is stay here and post what you posted or .... Have a gtreat day!

Gross. If I get an infraction for posting a free, useful site that doesn't require registration in a thread that is buried and rarely used, then this site is backwards. I'm not worried about it. There are devs that create their own forums and link to them in their signature with no problems.
There is whining and demanding in every thread, so that's kind of a lame excuse. The Amaze thread, 70% of the members/devs are whiners lol. People really need to get off their high horse. If devs don't like questions, then they don't have to answer. All of this flaming and infractions is ridiculous. Even more preposterous are those that worry about infractions for doing nothing wrong. Lol

According to mods, he hasn't respected the XDA rules. You still can follow his work on his website (Google it, it should be simple).
If I were him, I would not return so don't expect any of his work to be posted on XDA.
Respect each side in their decisions.
(I should also mentioned that it is not the place to discuss such things )

afaik, he uses links that make him gain money, and that's against xda rules. after discussing with mods, he stopped it (using xda for rom threads) and started his forums. now, IMO, devs like him who make such good roms should be allowed to do so. maybe a good idea was to add a dev host link, with no revenue to him, and other links for those who want to help him. but now what's done is done and mods and xda has their rules and decisions.
speaking of decisions, it won't be a long time before a mod spots this thread and decides to move/delete it

Don't agree he was a great developer for the hd2 and now he's gone this is the hd2 forum so where else would we discuss
