Agreed... very cool.
So sick of using the volume buttons.
pretty good! would be better if the capacitive back button worked as if you browse to a folder with lots of subfolders by accident you have to scroll a long way to go back!
i didnt update the app does it let you choose how you want to do it
How does this compare to RomRacers?

A couple notes:
3e recovery, and it's different than what I've seen before. (No Reinstall pkgs)
The modem on this ROM was mediocre (not as good as JK4), and no HSPA+
I also had apps with widgets installed that mysteriously disappeared from the widget menu.

The recovery is better than stock froyo or eclair. Has install update from sd card which when selected showed every cwm zip I had on my card. Didn't try one though. No disappearing widgets either. I like the modem, loud and nice voice quality. Speed an issue though.

No you cannot flash roms and mods when you are temp rooted as you have to reboot. When you reboot you are no longer temp rooted. Be patient things are sorting themselves out ,a dev is on it people are trying to get him devices so he can achieve full root.
Might as well get use to stock roms... could be a WHILE!! lol no one even has a clue. all we know is a few people are looking into it. with HTC having a stick up there *** and not releasing the GB kernal/rom we are stuck waiting.
no, you need full root
See http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=936
So I was in g2x forum, and they said you can flash a recovery without root. Then with recovery you can flash a rom.
Don't know if it works like that with our phones though.

BTW you need both rom manager and rom toolbox from the market to get the builds for the GB cm7, right now rev is the only one getting the nightlies out to download, rom manager doesn't support them yet, and don't download it from rom manager because it will brick your phone and you will have to load from sbf all over.

Second that! Oh and yeah bad place to put this. Actually this question get's asked a lot, yet there is no definitive answer it seems?... I believe it is all about personal preference. MIUI seems to have a great balance of everything I could want in a phone and super user friendly customization. I searched a month for a rom... Tried most 2.3.x and while they all offer something and are greatly appreciated... I just so happen to like MIUI the best. Goodluck!
Cm7 is what many people go for, but if you google the things you can do in MIUI, then you will see it offers the most features. The non stock version that nickminn updates every friday seems to be better than any other 2.3.5 rom I have seen otherwise.. but they all have bugs, reduced battery life versus 2.2.x, and barely or non working gps.
The bugs I still had when I stopped using it a few weeks ago: media button on headphones doesn't work, if listening to music when you get a call and you answer, the music will continue to play, you have to restart it after charging(at least after long charges) or it will not go into deep sleep, and occasional sd card issues(my music player would too often not be able to find the music).. the plus side is all of the features: the notification bar being customizable and shortcuts to each toggle, the ability to theme EACH part of the UI individually, the built in backup/restore, the battery tracking, the device data usage app, the multi touch drag/drop and tons more.
Also I was getting 16-20 hours under heavy/moderate use which is the best I have seen on any ginger rom including cm7.. on ANY 2.3.5 rom you need to use cpu spy to make sure it goes into deep sleep to have good battery.
Hope this helps.. there is a large trade off using any gingerbread rom until we get the source code-- I went back to 2.2.1 because EVERYTHING works, and I simply can't kill it in 24 hours unless I TRY.. I get 24-48 hours per charge. I miss the features of MIUI, but not enough for the costs-- most of the differences between 2.2 and 2.3 is mostly cosmetic in the end.
I think he means 2.2 roms that look like GB. In that case, try Bionix 1.3.1. It should be easy to find.

cm7, miui, and there are plenty of others. cm7 is as easy as odin to jfd, root, install rom manager, flash cm7 and the gapps. miui should be the same. for any of the samsung i9k based roms you want/have to flash new bootloaders (at least that was the case last time i used one).

it means koush officially supports the device for recoveries. And now we won't have n3wbs asking "how do i flash a recovery image". But since the recovery image requires an SDcard we'll see "why isn't the recovery sticking".
It almost means that we'll start seeing, and having the options to download ROMs directly via the ROM manager.
Has any one flashed recovery from new (updated) ROM manager
I'm still on Team Rogue's CWR and refuse to leave it. It's CWR 5, CWM seems to only allow you to have version 2 or 3 at the time it seems.
This isn't TF101 specific. Changelog just states that support has been added for any generic device that has unofficial recoveries

The application is probably configured to simplely grab that information from the device and print it as the output when you select the install clockworkmod recovery.

It does seem odd that it would allow you to flash recovery, when it wasn't supported.

Ah, you're right.
On a side note. ASUS did a pretty good job of not over bloating the TF101. A rooted ICS would be fine with me. But CWM is awesome to fix permissions, reboot to recover, etc. It'd be nice to have.
Sorry if I got anybody's hopes up.
