So this is the first time i have rebooted my fire since root and it just keeps going into recovery.. Not sure what the problem is or what im doing wrong.
is there something special im suppose to do when booting up so that i can not go into recovery?
thanks in advance
i assume wrong bootmode
when you are in recovery:
adb shell idme bootmode 4000
adb reboot
Thank you that worked great!
glad to help ...

I rooted it and installed CM7 on it, CM7 was getting a boot loop so I did a factory reset, I read online that I should reinstall CM7 to help get rid o the boot loop, i turned off the kindle, putting it into recovery mod (like a t**t). Stuck in FFF boot loop, windows reconizses its an ADB device but nether the KF utility, nor ADB thinks its plugged in. I can mount it as a mass storage device. Any help is appreciated.
Edit: This picture better explains what is going on, but as i am a new user, i cannot post a link so I'm sorry but you will have to copy and paste this : i.imgur.com/3Lcsh.png
Did you try this?
adb shell
idme bootmode 4000
reboot

As i was trying to explain adb shell keeps telling me the device isn't found
And before you ask, yes i have installed the drivers and yes i have reinstalled them and yes i have rebooted the device and my computer
Did you try using the command prompt instead of the KFU? I had success doing it manually.
yup, no luck
Remove the KF, uninstall the drivers, restart Windows, and install them manually.
That should work.
no luck, still stuck
Did you edit the "adb_usb" and "android_winusb" files?
HOLY **** after ~ 4 hours of tinkering i got it!!!
Within the KFU i installed the TWRP recovery and while it said waiting for device, I restarted it. I had done this before but it didn't take.
I LOVE THE KFU, IF I HAD ANY MONEY I WOULD GIVE IT TO THEM.
If anyone in the future has this problem and has any questions, PM me and I will try to help you as best as I can.
hey guy, I got a quick question for ya's. Just got my KF tonight. Pretty sweet, but i seemed to hit a bump. Got everything setup. Root, TWRp, and the iCS ROM from here of course. Now after running ICS, i figured i'd try out CM7. i flashed the Update.zip and it booted just fine. Booted back into recovery, and stupid me, I flashed the Gapps for the ICS ROM instead of using the Kindle Utility to install GAPPS. Now no matter what I do, ive tryed to re-flash CM7, and even ICS, and every time i Reboot it takes me back into recovery. Yess i did try to Restore my original Backup that I made as soon as i got TWRP on here. Still wont boot into System. If someone can gimma a few pointers on what i need to do, i'd really appreciate it guys. Thanks again
Jon
EDIT....Jesus Christ, NVMD...i dont know what the hell happen, but i tryed to Normal Reboot with the Utility and powered the device on normally and all seems well.....I have no clue why I had this issue. MODS PLEASE CLOSE THIS THREAD....If anyone has any ideas on what may have happened and why I couldnt boot into system normally, PLase PM me and let me know...Thanks, and sorry guys.
EDIT 2...Well it happened again LOL....Any ideas guys why I boot into recovery and then when i try and boot into system it seems to loop and then keeps throwing be back into recovery?>

You're in either of two situations: stuck in fastboot, or stuck in recovery. Either way, run:
adb shell
su
idme bootmode 4000
reboot
did you make sure to completely wipe the system and clear cache and dalvik cache? after doing that and setting it to boot normal once, i never had a problem with fastboot again

So if im every stuck in that situation again, all i have to do is runs that in CMD?...thanks for the reply guys. much appreciated
if you use "reboot" in twrp it reboots allways to twrp - not fine but it is as it is
when working with twrp is use to say "shut down"
bootmode manually
with adb:
adb shell su -c "idme bootmode 4000"
adb reboot
with fastboot:
fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 4000
fastboot reboot

If you Kindle Fire is booting directly into TWRP, without you doing it manually, then your device is stuck in fastboot mode.
You can issue the following commands through adb on your computer:
adb shell su -c "idme bootmode 4000"
adb reboot
That should allow your Kindle to properly boot into whatever rom you have installed.
TWRP has root privileges by default, so you just have to run "adb shell idme bootmode 4000".
Slightly off topic, but wouldn't it be a good idea if TWRP showed the current bootmode in one of the corners?
Is there a way to completely "restore" a Kindle Fire to how it came from the factory? IE: remove TWRP & restore to a stock firmware.

Hey guys I rooted my Kindle Fire with no problems.
Then I went on to what you guys know will follow after a root.
Flashing a custom recovery so that I can install a rom.
Well I followed this guide here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12363-how-to-windows-install-twrp-20-on-your-kindle-fire/
Yes I had the recovery in the same folder etc...
After I typed the following:
adb shell
idme bootmode 4002
exit
fastboot -i 0x1949 boot twrp-blaze-2.0.0RC0.img
I got stuck at the Yellow Fire Triangle
I pulled open the case and unplugged the battery.
Even after that it boots right into the Fire Triangle.
I am using Ubuntu Linux.
Can anyone help me get out of this situation. Or does anyone know what I did wrong?
I herd about the kindle fire utility but im running Ubuntu not windows.
thanks guys

Plug it in and type
Fastboot oem idme bootmode 4000
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA
It says <waiting for device>
And nothing happens
I don't know if it helps but before it booted into that mode the vendor id on the usb was 1949.
Now the vedor id is 18D1
I'm not sure if that helps but that's what I have.
Thanks
Try running fastboot as root.
issue "fastboot oem idme bootmode 4000"
if it says <waiting for device> power it off by holding the pwr button for ~20sec till it turns of - pwr on again - the command should resume and finish
a second pwr off/on will bring you back to normal
I got it working last night. The problem was that it did flash a recovery it just wouldn't boot into recovery for some reason. I kept click and holding the power button until it finally rebooted into normal mode.
Then Instead of using twrp recovery I flashed cwm and installed ICS.
Thank you all for helping me.

Hi,
i am searching this forum for about 5-6 hours without finding a solution for my problem.
My KF is stucked on "kindle fire" start screen (it blinks) after i made a bad misstake by editing the account.db . I wanted to add a second google account to my new installed market.
But after that it is stucked.
I tried the kfu 0.9.3 but no matter what i do, i get an error with "operation not permitted" or "Could not access the Package Manager. Is the system runnung?"
[edit]Everytime i try to enter su at adb shell, i got this message "[1] + Stopped (signal) su"[/edit]
My driver seem to work.
And i dont know what i did, after some utility uses i got this yellow triangle and it stucked first. But now it continued again to the blinking kindle fire logo.
Can somebody please help me? I realy dont know what to do.
And i am sorry for my bad english :/ .
Thank you.
Have you tried going into recovery?
Sent from my Kindle Fire using xda premium
Issue the following commands to reboot to normal
fastboot -i 0x1949 oem idme bootmode 4000
fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot
or
adb shell idme bootmode 4000
adb shell reboot

Hey, thanks for the answer.
I was able to get twrp running with this post:

hey cool - thought the shell is messed up - it's not - you can get to fastboot - great
would suggest to follow this thread starting at point 2:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21803658&postcount=29
and your allready downloaded twrp is recovery.img not twrp-blaze-2.0.0RC0.img
simply adapt the corresponding command in the above thread
is you want stock rom i would suggest to use a prerooted stock rom (i prefer the unsecure version):

Now i tried to install a rom, but i am not sure it worked. Because the kf is starting for over 10 min now and just showing this "kindle fire" logo. Do you or anybody has got a link for the original 6.2.2 or maybe with google play? I have got the problem that the roms i downloaded dont have a md5 file and that discription i used said i have to activate md5 check.
Thank you.
P.S. How long do i have to wait until i can be sure it wont start? And do i realy have to command "adb shell idme bootmode 4000" and "adb reboot" after flashing? Or can i just click on reboot?
Check the check sum md5 before you install.
It looks like the KF is booting into fastboot mode. You need to issue the mentioned commands to boot normal either before or after you install a new ROM. First you to boot to normal and find the ROM you like to install. As you know, use TWRP to install a new ROM.

Guys, thank you. Its alive..again .
I just found a rom that worked .
Its is 5 am and i rly have to sleep now..what a night -.- .
Again, thanks for your help.
just for info:
had a case where a prerooted stock rom needed 20min for first boot
so be patient ...
