LG Fathom with Android question - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

I know there is a thread right here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1231086
However, all the links are dead, anyone bother to update it for me please?
I want to use the phone with ATT without data plan with it (GPRS, 3G, stuffs..)
So is it the Android rom is good in this case yet because it says support the GSM "partially"?
Thanks

Well i need it toooooo .. anyone listening ?

I have a Fathom that I was messing around with Android on and still had the files on my HDD. Uploaded them to 4shared:
~90MB Android 2.3.5
http://www.4shared.com/rar/-w1AtQcu/fathom.html
Wifi Files (Don't know if you need them but I'll upload anyways)
http://www.4shared.com/zip/DA3KFkfx/fathom-wifi.html

It is stuck at "Jumping to Kernel". Any help? Step-by-step instructions?

Are the files placed in a folder called "fathom" which is placed in the root of the SD card.

Sure. Do this and you will be fine.
1) Download the files. https://skydrive.live.com/redir.aspx?cid=5a36dd445483e8d8&resid=5A36DD445483E8D8!1568&parid=root
2)Extract the "fathom" folder inside the archive.
3)Move the extracted "fathom" FOLDER and move/copy to the ROOT of your SD card. Not the files inside the folder, and not the zip file itself either.
4)Go to your LG Fathom. Go to the "fathom" folder in the SD Card, then click on the "CLRCAD.exe" file. I heard it enables the sound, but it doesn't work for me. But just do it in case.
5)Launch the "haret" exe file. It is a longer name, but it starts with "haret".
6)Wait and enjoy.
The thing is, when I run it Android crashes and restarts every 10 seconds. Literally. Is it the hardware's fault? Anyone have better files? Or maybe an older version of Android to let it run smoother? Well I am not running it again until there is a fix. -_-

I just installed according to ur steps, but wat u say is right. The OS crashed after a few minutes... now when i restarted it has come back to winmo 6.5

Something that matters: Check your Android version. 1.6 is the oldest ones I've ever seen around...

got it!! on the last link that i gave you by Georgi-geo, don't change the name of the folder to Fathom.. after you extract the zip from the link, u get a folder named 2.2 just copy 2.2 to your storage card root and run and wait for at least 15-20 seconds... and it works gud, no lags, no reboots in a loop...
Go to network settings disable Airplane mode and wait for a few seconds until it disables fully and ur gsm network shows up...
PS: better to format ur SD card before u do this

I have 3,000 mb on my storage card! What's wrong with my device? Probably because I screwed some files up by accident... And hopefully CMDA will work since I use Verizon.

Did u have any luck??? try using a lesser memory SD card (2 GB preferable) and try to format it using FAT32 before u copy 2.2 folder and try running Haret when still connected to PC via USB...
One more thing.. do u know of any good GPS software that works on GSM in Fathom? btw I am not from US

http://www.multiupload.com/1GEN8PQPMU

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=596484&highlight=BRICK&page=31
I don't know how darkstone's name got into this thread, but football made it clear that you should not flash the ace build to your hd2. just re-flash the stock rom and your phone should be fine. hope this helps
The 4th line of his post said:
THIS ROM ONLY FOR COOKERS DO NOT TRY TO FLASH ON DEVICE!
I am not a dev .. let's hope they can help you. But it has been said endless number of times - first read, then read again, then several times more until every word is clear to you ... then try to flash ... on your own risk. Always.
ima take a guess and say you flashed a beta rom FOR the Desire HD on your HD2...incompatible ROM. your phone is bricked for good.
Learn to f**king read man. Im a newb and read that.
maybe not bricked for good, he shouuld be able to flash a ruu for his phone containing winmo and be good to go again, but who knows
I think he flashed a beta ROM darkstone made. It was just like any other Android build, made to launch from the sdcard. What happened exactly? You flashed it and it booted fine then just died?
yea who knows, it's nebulous. - Michael Scott
Take your battery and microsd card out and leave it for a few hours. Then plug in the battery but LEAVE THE SD CARD OUT and try booting up your phone into Windows.
Also how did you put those files on your phone since they are for the Storage Card. Did you try to copy them to your internal memory in some way?
You REALLY shouldnt try test versions unless you know what you are doing which im very sure you didnt..
Mark.
Wait... what?
OK, so you managed to get a hold of the files that I'm sharing with devs, and you somehow flash those files on to your phone (how is that even possible) ?
You must of flashed your phone using the EXE file on the first post of this thread right? If you did, then you should have not been so careless. Clearly on the first post it states that this is for developers only, this was not to be flashed.
Do not blame my files for something that you have done. Those files were not intended to be spread on this forum, however I have no problem if people do wish to post about it.
Time for you to call HTC and see if you can get a replacement...
he didnt release to the public for a reason I knew somebody was going to download it lmao

wait yea you're right. it's not a "flushable" ROM..i just downloaded the file and it's just another Android build that you put on the SD card. Not sure what the OP "flushed" but yeah, taking the SD card out and restarting the phone should do the trick. Am I missing something? Can you actually brick your phone booting android from Haret?

There is always a slight chance of messing Windows Mobile up but as long as you have HardSPL installed you can easily flash a new rom and get everything working again so nothing much to worry about.

see if you have a folder called android on sd card, this rom seems to create a folder called android, with sub folder called data.
delete both, data and them android, phone should boot and load properly then, but you have to remember to delete it everytime you close down,or boot windoes first and do the delete then.

hijacking threads is considered rude, hoqwever to explain it, it stops people with one post who haven't read anything, filling chefs rom release threads with 'i want get this on my phone, how do i do it, tell me now' posts.

I don't think it's a firmware related issue.
Did you download it from the store or some other sources?
If you got it from other sources, make sure your copied the obb file correctly to the obb directory.
Also please do have an active internet connection as games like this tend to check if the files you have are complete, at least once.

External sd card as internal storage

Hi guys...I am posting a method by which you can swap your sd card as internal storage. It is not exactly a swap, but I tried it on my moto e XT-1022 and now have games upto 4 GB, while internal storage of the moto e is 2GB.
Method :
1. Download and install both the apps mentioned in the links below and grant both of them root permissions.
2. Open X-Internal SD and configure the settings as per the screenshot provided below.
3. Go to play store and download any large app. Eg : I downloaded Assassin's Creed Pirates.
4. When it is downloaded, go to foldermount app and click the + icon. Enter the game's name, its location of the obb, data (Android>obb) or (Android>Data).
5. Then choose where you wanna move the data or obb...I prefer sd card.
6. Hit OK......And wait while the mounting process is going on.
7. I prefer rebooting the device so there are no lags.
8. Enjoy your games!!!!!!!
Downloads :
1. Foldermount App : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByAFukM_0rJbNElBR1FrYzkzSTA/view
2. X-Internal sd : http://www.mediafire.com/download/x220faqj4b8x5tr/com.pyler.xinternalsd_3.8_free-www.apkhere.com.apk

Yes it does need root access. If your phone is not rooted, then you can try only the X Internal SD app. It does not require root access. Click here if you want the non-root method. http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/app-x-internal-sd-t3273916

When you moved obb to ext sd by foldermount, you did not click on the pin logo. Did you? Because I faced the same issue first time. I tried clicking the pin next to asphalt 8 after moving it to ext sd. Try and update me.
And yeah, XDA Rule number six is that you are not allowed to talk about apps like Lucky Patcher, freedom, creehack, etc.

No. In marshmallow there is no root access in the file manager as it did in earlier versions. So the path to SD Card is not specified. If you want my opinion, then use dual boot patcher and play games on kitkat.

If you can, I personally recommend kitkat ROMs for trying this out.
PoseidonKing said:
No. In marshmallow there is no root access in the file manager as it did in earlier versions. So the path to SD Card is not specified. If you want my opinion, then use dual boot patcher and play games on kitkat.

[Help] Repacking .zip file ROM into .nb0 file with heineken tool

Hello, I am trying to fix my bricked phone but I do not know how to repack the files to flash them with the OST. I have the program (crack by heineken) and the Android 7.1.1 stock ROM .zip. When I try to choose my unpacked .zip it tells "error: list not exist" and in the post where I got the tool it tells "edit files "list" of unpacked nb0 image, remove .md5 file from list". How do I create this list from my .zip file?
Thank you for your help and apologys for bothering you with such simple question but I don´t know much about this.

Have you looked for official method?
Why not use a package that's already packed?

What do you mean by this? The Nokia support did not help and their repair people can´t find the error so I do it this way because it seem to my only option.

Just delete '*'s. I am not responsible for the files that are here. You also could just google for ND1-3700-0-00WW-B03.nb0 or ND1-3320-0-00WW-B03.nb0
3320 should give you 2017 June's version, 3700 should give you state after the October's patch (the one with the RAM management bug).
Or vice versa. I assume higher number is newer version

I would suggest you to flash this nbo with OST LA. Just download and extract the archive and then you'll see the nbo rom. That worked for me. Hopefully for you too.
Good luck and have a nice day!

I am sorry for bothering you again, but I have run into new problem. When I start flashing process it works for short but then it says "reflashing service bootloader" and progress bar will not move anymore even after having computer and program on for one night. Before starting flashing I clicked "edit device information" and waited for error to appear and my flashing settings is "normal download; check device ap status". Do you know what do to?
BotoxNoob said:
What do you mean with "flashing settings"? I could send you a video tutorial how to unbrick your phone. Here is the link. Follow the guide. It's very simple. Hopefully I could help you and please tell me, where you can set up the "flashing settings".
Thanks

My version of OST is 6.1.2 and it has options to choose between choosing file and the process starting. The settings I have are the default choosed by the program itself when you run it.
BotoxNoob said:
OST 6.1.2 doesn't work. You have to use OST 6.0.4. I think, that's the problem. Please report me the result and good luck.

With the OST version 6.0.4. it get stuck on "flashing partition: ABOOT" then it stops and tells;
error code: 0xc6da
error: download fails
error=se_er_adb_cmd_get_fail_ result (0xc6da)
Again I am sorry if this is easy to fix problem and I am just stupid.

I have downloaded this too. But what I have to do with it?
BotoxNoob said:
Go to "C:/adb" and then drag all the files from the platform tools.zip in the "C:/adb" directory. Overwrite the files if you get asked.
Now, please try flashing with OST again.

OK. Please delete the "C:/adb" folder. I'll send you an other reply, and then it should work.

Hello,
I hope this will finally fix your problem.
Make shure, you've deleted the "C:/adb" folder.
Let's start
First of all, download the 15 seconds adb installer.
Execute it and always press "Y" and confirm everything.
Once you've done that, download the latest "Platform Tools" (for windows).
After downloading, extract the archive. Now drag all the files from the "platform-tools_r28.0.1-windows" directory to the "C:/adb" directory. Overwrite all files if you get asked.
Now, boot your phone in "Download Mode" and connect it to your PC.
Open OST 6.0.2, click "Edit Phone Information", wait until it's done and then flash the nbo rom to your device.
If that does'nt work, I could help you via TeamViewer.
But no matter, good luck and report me the result.

There still is same error as always. Problem is my phone does not boot so I can not change setting for USB debugging. But now I have ADB program installed and I can wipe partition with if it corrupted, no?
BotoxNoob said:
Do you mean that USB Debugging is not enabled?

No. I never used it before phone stopped working so I never turned on.
Also, it start in downlaod mode when I plug it to PC.
And how can you not delete files by external access when device is turned off? This sounds like bad joke.
BotoxNoob said:
The problem is, for flashing partitions, you need an unlocked bootloader. But there's no official (and no free unofficial) way to unlock the bootloader on the Nokia 5. It's not a bad joke.

Think about windows doing this. After BSOD/crash/update error, for whatever reason, PC does not boot so you want to enter BIOS but it tells you to log in the administrator account. But you can not log in because all you can reach is POST screen (the black with the cpu and hardware information written). Would that not be stupid?
Also, you mentioned unofficial way? Nokia repair people did not find problem so this looks like only way for me. Can you tell me more?
BotoxNoob said:
....
That costs 5$. So, do you really want to buy this unlock file? I can't guarantee that this will help you.

The way you say it sound like ripoff... First I will ask coworkers if they know something. See, I work for computer service (windows, macintosh, linux) but I never work with android. Now I see why...
