how does one get unlock code for tmobile
Sorry, my friend, but you are searching in the wrong forum.
Try a Google search, or try one of the TMobile device forums.

The Droid X has no sim card. It's cdma, not gsm.
If you just need a regular old unlock code, contact your phone (sim) carrier.

It's CDMA but it's **NOT** Global (this is the reason why.)
Touch Pro2 is a global phone, that's why it has a SIM slot and you can unlock it to use on other GSM networks.
4G replaces the need of SIM card on their global phones. Read up on how 4G works, you will quickly understand why. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G "4G may allow roaming with wireless local area networks"
Ok so here's a question.
I have a Rooted with Indigo Bean Legend on the Bell Network.
If I want to use that phone on the FIDO network, I put in my sim card and it asks for a password.
.I thought if it was rooted, then it was automatically "unlocked " to different carriers. I can buy a password and am willing to unlock it myself, but is that what I need to do, and will that mess up any of the rooting that's done?
Rooting doesn't unlock the phone. So yeah you'll have to use an unlock code.

Using an unlock code will permanently unlock the phone to be used on any carrier. Rooting does not unlock the phone.

I doubt it will mess with your rooting, I used cellunlock.net along with coupon code crackb50 to get my unlock code, cost me $10 (down from $20) but unfortunately, they increased it to $30, so now after 50% off, it's $15.
Does anyone know what I have to do to get my Htc HD2 t-mobile to work oversea such as Thailand? I'm going over there for 2months and when I leave, the phone will be staying there with my brother to keep. Contract will end when I get back so HTC G2 here i come. Sorry I'm a noobie that just starting to like cell phone and gadgets. Please Help!
Put in a request for a SIM unlock code from your carrier (T-Mobile) and they should send one out to for free via email after a few weeks.
After obtaining the code, insert a different card other than T-Mobiles SIM and input the code.

My friend on att is looking for a phone and considering the myTouch4g... how easily can it be unlocked?
Thanks

Look at it this way: I've never unlocked a phone in my life, not even my brothers iTouch. Not because I didn't know how, just because I never needed to. It is stupidly easy, unless you have issues following simple instructions.
two options:
1. call tmobile for the unlock code
2. perform ultimate s=off root (do a search should come right up)
not too hard to do if you follow the instructions
Awesome, I intended to root it anyways.
Thanks!

Yes using the ./Gfree method will unlock the sim but before you root that way make sure you have the "good" emmc chip as a lot of phones have randomly been becoming bricks using ./Gfree
You can read about it and how to check your phone if you have the "good" or "bad" chip. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079025

make sure you're inserting the sim properly
As far as I know the my touch 4G (unlocked) will work on att's network but will not be able to use the 3G service because T mobile uses a different frequency for its 3g nand
Yea in the video for installing gfree the guy said you would not get 4g or 3g. If you went with AT&T.
This may be dumb question, but why unlock the MyTouch4G when you can just get the Inspire for AT&T? It's similar spec-wise with a larger screen and will get HSPA+.

N1s are already unlocked from the factory
There are two versions of the N1: one works with AT&T/Rogers frequencies, the other works with T-Mobiles frequencies.
You can use any sim card you want as long as your phone supports the carriers cell frequency.
You can use any SIM card, even if your carrier doesn't support the frequency, but you will get limited functionality...

could be possible, that he's talking about one of the vodaphone n1's.. I think they are carrier locked, but easily unlockable via root.
Vodaphone N1 is not sim locked I have one. But it has got a carrier tweaked rom.

Vidéotron N1's won't work on Rogers, Bell and Telus 3G; they will -only- work on Fido and Rogers 2G/Edge/GPRS.
Read the FAQ.
