Is there a way to get the Acer Day Planner app, which comes in the A100?
My guess download the .apk from system dump and modify .build prop THOUGH I could be completely wrong..
So download system dump, or a100 rom if acceptable then take the desired .apk out if it doesn't work right off the bat which im assuming it won't you will need to edit the .build prop ...
Hope this helps hit the thanks if it does!

Thanks, I'm gonna look for a A100 rom...
EDIT: I've tried it and it didn't work on the A500... unfortunately. As you said... Who knows if Acer release a "10.1" version of this nice app...

After installed, the app loads in portrait mode, because of the A100 specs, I think... no problem about that, but... when I touched on "Start" to configure it, then I got force close everytime I tried it.
It didn't work absolutely.
I don't know what to do with it dry bud..

The app has dependencies. Namley the email and calendar apps. So chances are those and who knows what else needs to go into it. I have to agree its probably the best planner app out there. Would be nice to get an effort to port it. If we find all the parts for it chances are it should be doable. Might explain the force closes. I could be way off as I am in the process of trying. But if it works it should just be as simple as having a set of apps to copy to whatever device (ideally I'd like it to work on my phone too but that might be asking too much lol)

You need to flash the zip with custom cwm (recovery)
Or you need to put it in system/app but for that you need also root acces.

Just make a backup and try it, if something isn't right afterward just restore your backup.
Thanks for the link, I flashed it and do notice some improvement
Tried to flash this on my stock 6.2.2 KF and was unsuccessful. Is it only compatible with cooked gingerbread ROMs? Thx for your help in advance.

Not sure how people are making this work for KF. Tried several times through twrp and it didn't install. Did the manual push, which lead to my device getting bricked. I think I'm gonna stay away for now till the kinks get ironed out unless anyone with a KF can help me successfully install.

Yes. I believe the thread said it was for Gingerbread only, but some ICS folks had luck. I do not think there was any talk of the stock KF firmware, nor was it designed to install correctly on that firmware.
On a side note, it does not really install correctly on anything, must people just thought they heard a difference unless they went through the manual installation process.

Yeah when I read the original thread, it just listed GB ROMs as compatible and so it installed fine on my infuse 4G. Since I already was running voodoo sound on my infuse, couldn't be sure on whether the sound is really all the way different, but some songs and their bass sound a little clearer than before.

I need help knowing if my KF is worth selling. I plan to sale this KF for $120 to buy a SONY™ Ericcson XPERIA Play™. Do you guys think this good enough to sell for? I am not sure if theres a better phone that I can buy with that money. Really like that phone and want to know XDA opinions. A person offered me a deal for the Play in $100. Hello guys,
I have seen many people request tablet UI on the kitkat rom pages (sgt7 and fuzz). Here is a guide top do so, so that you do not big the devs who are constantly working
THIS DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE
Step 1) Have xposed framework installed.
Step 2) Go to the downloads and scroll down till you see tablet ui.
Step 3) Download and install
Step 4) Reboot and enjoy!!!
If this worked for you, press the thanks button!!
Here are screenshots
Here is where I found it
OK, so I installed the framework (it wouldn't run correctly until I disabled "respect CM settings for root" in SuperSU settings, FYI), and downloaded the module as well as tick the box to enable it. Everything is installed and running, yet I have no tabletUI. :/
My guess is that I have to use a certain launcher, or that said launcher must have default settings? I'm using Nova Launcher and wonder if that's why it isn't working. What launcher are you using, OP?
I'm using trebuchet but the launcher does not matter. It's a part of the system ui.
I'm actually on Fuzz's cm 11 and I do have plans to change to sgt7. I tested it and found it to be quite smooth.

So there's a decent chance this doesn't work on the rom that came from the thread where you linked to this.
If anyone manages to get it working on sgt7, post here!
Now according to every thread with tablet ui mods and questions, Google has officially removed tablet support from 4.4. So how you got this to work is blowing my mind.

ive tried this on Hash's CM11 for KFHD, doesnt work, found out Android took out the Source code for TabletUI and and wont be implementing it in future updates. PA wont be including it in their ROM's also. unless someones willing to rewrite the code into kitkat, it wont be possible(yet).
It shouldn't work on CM11 BC the System UI Framework is different than CM10.2. This uses CM10.2 Framework. Do not use unless below CM10.2

BE SURE TO PLAY ON A SAFESTRAP ROM
Here is how to "easily" install Google Apps (gapps) on our HDX devices (tested on 7", should work on 8.9").
This procedure will keep all amazon app services working, thanks to an Xposed module.
Installation
Root your device
Install Xposed Framework + my xposed module "HDXPosed"
Copy thor-gapps-installer-1.zip to sdcard
Flash thor-gapps-installer-1.zip from safestrap recovery
Informations
thor-gapps-installer-*.zip is just stock jb gapps with "welcomescreen.apk" removed and stock launcher added if needed
all work is done in HDXPosed module, more information on the HDXPosed thread
Download

Dunno, the main and most work is in the "services.odex" file, so maybe it's the same on both devices ! Is safestrap available on the 8.9 ? If there is a way to recover from "system" tricks then i could find the time to recompile this file for you guys.

Hi,
after a lot of work this night i finally got everything up and working including working play store downloads !
Here is a simple howto, i'm sure confirmed users won't have problems to get it working, and for other i'm sure there will be other howto in the next few days
BE SURE TO WORK ON A SAFESTRAP ROM
So here we go !
Start from a stock, clean backup
Remove a few system apps (amazon mp3, slik browser...) to free space on system partition for gapps else it won't completely install
Install gapps from recovery : gapps-jb-20130812-signed.zip
Remove "/system/app/SetupWizard.apk" to bypass gapps welcome screen as it depends on stock "Settings.apk"
Remove "/system/app/MarketIntentProxy_1010.apk" (not sure if needed)
Replace "/system/framework/services.odex" with this one (recompiled with signature check disabled) : services.odex
Remove "/system/app/DownloadProvider.apk"
Remove "/system/app/DownloadProvider.odex"
Remove "/system/app/DownloadProviderUi.apk"
Remove "/system/app/DownloadProviderUi.odex"
Copy CM-10.1 DownloadProvider.apk to "/system/app/"
Copy CM-10.1 DownloadProviderUI.apk to "/system/app/"
Update google play games services to version 4.0.34 (not sure if needed anymore as it will probably be downloaded from playstore)
If you get some fc, try clearing cache and dalvik cache. I will maybe try to build a custom rom from that but time will probably miss me !
I'm sure that confirmed hackers here will get it working with the provided files and write a better howto soon
Enjoy and merry Christmas !

Yep, after downloading some app updates from the google play market, it automatically restarted and looped. After the hard reset it did not work. I reverted back to my stock backup for the time being. I tried fixing permissions in Safestrap, but that did not work either. I wonder if others are having this problem.
