[Q] Root in Argentina and Brazil official update - Milestone 2 General

well my question is simple, you might find some way to achieve root in the official versions of GB in Latin America ? some data that can help us, and tried all the methods and none worked for me. I hope to find help, thank you!

Root in this rom is possible only with superoneclick.

I've tried with this version of SuperOneClick (2.3.3) too, and had success. Maybe your Antivirus software is blocking SuperOneClick (add an exception for it on your AV settings before download it or quit your AV protection till finish root process) or you aren't following the steps to make it work.
Don't forget to enable "USB Debugging", unmount SD card, AND select the USB mode to None BEFORE trying to root.
I also recommend to close ALL other programs running on your computer, including your AV (I don't know why, but SuperOneClick freezes when programs are running)...
When the root process is complete, you can disable USB Debugging, mount SD card and select the USB mode to what you prefer.

my computer has no antivirus: / and I have all turned off in windows, on the phone do just as I describe the steps you, and does not work. I said they could have blocked the possibility of root and personal motorola
i using official Personal Argentina sbf

Well... according to And Developers is possible to root the 2.3.6 Personal ROM via SuperOneClick.
Maybe you're doing something wrong or that information is wrong. Try to use the latest version of SuperOneClick then (I dont know what is the latest version. When I rooted my 2.3.6 Brazilian Retail ROM, was 2.3.3).

I am not alone with this problem, all we update can not root. then we'll all be doing something wrong? if you want to upload the log SuperOneClick

Maybe SuperOneClick doesn't work with the Argentinian 2.3.6 ROM?
BTW, you tried to flash the Brazilian SBF?

sbf brazil not work. after flashing is in bootloop, I have more options, not to do, I will sell it I think, very disappointed by motorola Argentina.thanks hopefully find another method

maybe you had the downgrade problem. please compare the BL versions of brazil and argentina GB sbf. if the argentina one is greater than brazil, that means you can downgrade to the brazil GB sbf.

After flashing the brazilian sbf, you have tried to enter in stock recovery? You have a black screen after M logo, or bootloops?
If you have bootloop problem, you be able to open a stock recovery, wipe, and you will boot.
If you have a black screen, it's probably a downgrade problem.
Hope you have only a bootloop problem...

I have the same problem, only in VIVO rom

First: I can't post SuperOneClick log cuz I couldn't find it... Maybe it has been erased with temporary files or never have been generated.
Second: I found one difference here:
4.5.2-51_M2L-27_R01
My Brazilian Retail ROM doesn't have this "_R01" on Build number. It means to Revision number I guess.
The Revision number here is "0"
I found these file names to Brazilian Vivo 2.3.6 sbf: "M2L_U6_4.5.2_51-27_R01_SIGNED_US1MILA2GBVIVBRB125LA003.0R_STABLE45LAMILETVIVBR_P011_A030_M002_HWp2a_Service1FF.sbf.gz" and "M2L_U6_4.5.2_51-27_SIGNED_US1MILA2GBVIVBRB125LA003.0R_STABLE45LAMILETVIVBR_P011_A030_M002_HWp2a_Service1FF.sbf.gz" over the web, BUT I didn't tried to download and dont know if both of these files exists.
Try to find a sbf from Personal without this "_R01", flash it, and try to root it, if you find it.
Do at your own risk

You can't switch ROMs, there's no way to root or change after you apply Vivo or Personal ROMs, you'll have to reapply the Personal ROM and keep using it, unfortunately.

Milestone wont turn on after flashing with RSD

So my milestone was running 2.3.6/VIVO, but it couldnt be rooted, so i tried flashing 2.3.6/TIM, RSD showed 'PASS' but the phone wont turn on. Not even to the M logo, not even light up the notification LED. So i noticed RSD was still recognizing it, so i tried flashing 2.3.6/TIM again. Also tried flashing retail, but still no success. Any ideas??

Download Vivo 2.3.6 again and reapply the SBF, that's the only way you'll be able to use your phone.
Both Vivo and Personal ROMs can't be rooted, and you can't put a different ROM. Take a look in the Android Development forum, there's a thread explaining it.
So i'm stuck with vivo rom??
where can i find it to flash it again? when i flashed it, i downloaded from http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone2, but the link is off

Unfortunately, you are stuck with it, nobody found a way to use a different rom after applying that sbf. I don't have the link, but someone reuploaded all the ROMs some time ago, I'm sure someone saved the links and will post'em here.

Retail and TIM are working fine for root, it's 2.3.6 like the others one, but it doesn't have the same security level that VIVO, tigo colombia or personal ARG, we are stuck on that firmware and we can't get root or downgrade...

[Q] Flashing PA No Service Issue

I've spent a pretty decent amount of time troubleshooting this myself. Probably wiped my phone and put the stock 4.3 on 20 times. If there is already a thread that solves this please point me in the right direction and I apologize for posting about the same issue. Anyway here is my problem.
I tried to put Paranoid Android on my Nexus 4. The specific version is this one here pa_mako-3.99-RC2-20130920. I booted the most updated 4.3 stock version from googles developers website. From what I read the stock 4.3 would have the most up to date radio. After the stock OS was installed I rooted my phone and installed Clock Work Recovery. Once that was done and was working properly I put pa_mako-3.99-RC2-20130920 as well as the most up to date gapps (pa_gapps-full-4.3-20131024-signed) into my phones memory and booted my phone into CWM recovery. I did a factory reset and wipe, installed the two zips and and then wiped the dalvik cache and continued to boot up my phone. When the phone boots everything seems to work properly except... No service.
Did I do anything wrong in my process? I have also tried to imput my carriers APN settings. What information do you need from me? Any ideas? Thanks guys.
Reflash the ROM. Do a system wipe first. Flash a radio if this doesnt work.

That's been done a blue million times. But I will go ahead and try again. I'll let you know the outcome. Do you have a link for a specific radio?
Update: Wiping the system and then reflashing the rom did nothing. Now updating the bootloader and radio from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020336.

Ok I'll redownload the rom. And no the flashing of the radio did nothing either. I even imput my carries apn settings again. I hit save after entering in the settings and the phone didn't even save the settings.
Are you on an old version of CWM? 4.3 brings SELinux and you may be seeing permissions issues that's preventing you from being able to access the baseband (check under settings)
After redownloading the PA rom and flashing it from the stock 4.3 I have a working up to date version of the PA 3.99 R2. Thanks for the help guys.

[Q] Carrier doesn't release updates

Dear all,
first of all, sorry if this question is repeated, but I couldn't find a good answer by searching.
I bought a i9505 Galaxy S4 that came with a version of Android that has been modified by the carrier. There's a lot of bloatware and everything, but worse, they haven't even released the Android 4.3.
Can I install a "default" firmware of a i9505 Galaxy S4, in order to solve this problem? Clean, carrier free?
If yes, can someone post a guide on how to do this? I'm completely new to this subject, have no experience at all.
Thank you very much in advance!
Anyone?
This problem is really annoying me...

You can directly flash a rom from your country free of branch (fob) or unbranched (ub), their updates are faster than carrier ones. You don't need to root the phone to do this.

Stock firmware for xt1680 (latam version)

Hello. First I would like to say that I am running stock nougat on my phone. Version 137-78-4. The thing is I would like to emigrate to custom roms now but I want to be able to re stock and most importantly relock bootloader in case I have to. I cannot find a stock firmware for the version I'm running but Early versions and that would hard brick my phone. So what firmware should I use for my software version if I would like to relock my phone and come back to stock?.

sorry to re ask you this again. but i was not able to download from this site. tried every proxy and every vpn and still able. i really need help here. please.
I have a NANDroid made with TWRP ran with fastboot (ie. I didn't flash TWRP) if you're interested.
I restored from it and it looks like all the partitions are the stock ones, I was worried mainly about recovery and/or boot being somehow overridden by TWRP (it shouldn't have, but just in case).
The backup is for the XT1680 customized for Telcel (Mexico). It has some bloatware apps, but all of them except one allow uninstalling and the remaining one you can just disable/freeze.
Let me know if you want me to upload it.
