Dear all,
on 12th of August Google added Chrome to Phone to both Chrome Extension gallery and to Android Market. Even though I was able to download extension for Chrome I don't see version 2.0 on the Market and still using 1.7 from here: http://code.google.com/p/chrometophone/downloads/list . If someone able to download version 2.0 can you please put it here?
Thank you in advance.

Apparently I'm not allowed to link you since I'm a n00b at XDA, but if you look at chrome.google.com/extensions and search for "chrome to phone" you will see the following:
"The Android app is currently only available in English in the following countries: US, Canada, Australia, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa. We will be extending to additional countries in the next few weeks."
u can also send links from firefox to phone (with same app on phone) http://www.foxtophone.com/
Chrome to Phone doesn't support Google Apps accounts

But I am unable to download from the market due to my location.
Would it be possible for you to upload the .apk file here or a link which links directly to the .apk file?

As 9h05t mentioned, that's why we have this topic, it's regionally locked for most regions.
If you can attach apk, would be apreciated.

Yes. With region lock, I get most of my apps from xda here.
Thinking of starting a thread to congregate all these region locked apps together with direct downloads, via mediafire or something, for all of us who are unable to get the apps off the market.
For myself I have:
chrometophone 2.0.0
Google Earth 1.1
Gmail 2.2.1
Google buzz 1.0.3
Tikl 1.6
Swype
Fennec
Trillian
@9h05t, does "chrometophone 2.0.0" work on your droid?
I have Chrome to Phone 2.1 extention on my Chrome and FoxtoPhone on Ffox 4, none of them are working.
The first time i installed 1.7, it worked, once! that's it.

Try this workaround to allow the downloading of copy protected applications (Paypal) from the Market.

Exactly. Any applications which the developer is using Google's copy protected DRM will not show up on the market. Only Google approved ROMs can download copy protected applications (So for the Epic 4G, this means only the official ROMs are currently approved; any Froyo beta ROM's would not be approved without some sort of workaround such as the link in post #2).
You can look it up to see if an app is copy protected:
Example Paypal.
After downloading a paid app, from a external source (like getjar,fourshared...),is there any way to include it to the "My Apps" list from the market ?
Doing this,i would be able to use the own market to update my app as the new versions are released, without having to wait for someone to actually upload it to another external source so i can download it again and overwrite the old one.
Thanks in advance

[23AUG] "Hacked" Play Store 3.8.17.4 (Wishlist, delta "smart" updates, gift cards)
Hey guys,
I was looking for this yesterday and I found nothing, so I decided to "hack" the Play Store apk myself.
It's just 3.8.17 Play Store with Wishlist and (US only for now) gift cards activated.
How to install (or update)
1. Make a nandroid or backup Play Store by Titanium
2. Go to Settings » Apps » All » Google Play Store, tap "Uninstall updates" (if active) and confirm
3. Download my APK, place it on /sdcard and rename to Phonesky.apk
4. In Root Explorer (or any other file explorer that uses root permissions, but don't use ES File Explorer) go to /system/app and remove Phonesky.apk
---4.1. If you see any com.android.vending-*.apk file in this directory, remove it too
5. Copy Phonesky.apk from /sdcard to /system/app
6. Reboot

Can I ask if this is dpi hacked? As in for those who have a dpi of 162 like me it will fix the market incompatibility error?
If not how can I hack it to force the market to use a set dpi? Instead of reading my build.prop?

Nope. It lets you download apps unavailable in your country (they aren't shown in search results!) or for your device. It also lets you access and manage your Wishlist and gift cards.

It's impossible and illegal. Do not even ask for it.
Nice work webDeWo. Imma download this now. Funny how you hack a app that is free but not yet available now people want you to start getting apps for free. smh.
Hi, and thanks for sharing your work.
I have one question though : if I install an app while on the play store website on the PC, it will still download it to my phone with this hacked store ?
I'm sorry if I don't make any sense, English isn't my native language.

Voices are relatively big, there no need to pollute /system partition.
And it's mounted R/O usually.

It's unlikely that the data for system apps (such as Sansung TTS HD voices) will land into an unprotected folder, such as /sdcard/.SMT
But, we will see, if somebody with S4 phone in the hands will help us to get the HD voice data

Congrats! :victory:
I thought the awesome voice my Asus TF700T had was just a result of the JB operating system, then I got my S4 and hated how the navigation voice sounds. I wish I knew what Asus used, because the S4's voice is terrible. I also had that Grace from SVOX on my other Droid and the trial sounded great, then I bought it and the voice was entirely different and also sounded like garbage.
Why doesn't it just use the GoogleNow voice? That's what navigation sounds like on my TF700T.
EDIT: Looks like it may have the Google one after all now that I checked in the settings...
Yep, there it is. Derp.

On my Nexus S, I can't find /sdcard/.SMT, there is no folder as such. But am able to locate system/tts through Root explorer. So, I'll go with that folder structure.
I checked on that original site for instructions, found them, but since they're in Russian and Google Translate doesn't do very good job, it gets very difficult to understand it. I also found from that site, that EkaterinaHD is a Russian voice, something I don't need. I need English US HD quality voices only. Can you personal message(as not possible to post here publicly) me the installation instructions in English language along with suggestion of which voice is best for English US in HD.
Thank you.
