Just paid almost $700 for the Uk Unbranded GS2...

I must say i did not know that my version was light years thinner and lighter then all the us models untill i played with all 3 models anyways my question is what would you have picked? the real Uk Gs2 or branded GS2 now my uk version gets 4g but on Att only but im on tmobile and i keep my clear wireless on me at all times so im never on edge but witch model do you guys like? The exnoys Cpu is a beast and faster then the S3 i hear but again was my choice a good one i love how thin this device is and the fact its not tied to any network so the Ics update should come with no problems and theres tons of roms and development for the uk gs2

Lmao your pathetic. 700 dollars when you easily could've got one for >500. Ok and no offense but, how dumb could you be! Also the AT&T model is the same as the international model lmao (same thickness except it has 4 capacitive buttons). So you obviously didn't play with AT&T model and you got ripped off. Oh yea and its pathetic that you have to carry a hotspot with you at all times just to get 3G speeds.

My choice, I would have bought the cheapest, and not asked for opinions after buying it in the wrong part of the forums.

i9100 is $560-580 right now.

well also here in ontario i purchased a new device rather then those of "kijiji" or "ebay" b/c of some people bs'in about things and products and with tax of 13% i paid about $700 but with that i got a leather case + a protector and also from a wireless store and got their warranty + 1 more year on top total of 2 yrs. so yeah i looked @ my benefits but now whether it'd be galaxy galatica or note or sgs3 come out im 150% on my device + no contract either .. so till death this device is with me and i know yeah LTE and all this bullcrap but i don't need that sh** nor am i tempted to get htc raider or sgs 2 lte or w/e is out b/c all of them have same specs xcept maybe "screen" which is useless you might as well carry a tablet or a laptop ..and nfc which is no biggie b/c unless ur a doosh and lazy to carry a wallet then u might as well grow up and start carrying a wallet..lol no offence anyone plz don't start a bashing contest cause ill laugh and thats just that and as far as speed you can overclock sgs2 to 1.4 or 1.6 anyways with dual processor. now lets be nice and enjoy what we have and how we have it and so on..

lol i know true. with ice cream sandwich not far im just haha too excited but now lancez thanks for the suggestion lol but its tempted me to get a galaxy 10.1 tablet for my 3 yr old :O she wants my sgs2 and trust me its taking its beating already so i just wanna get her that.

GALAxy NOTE Gets a LOT of ATTENTION!!!!

I love my galaxy note and everytime i go to some public place people ask me what it is and you get to know a lot of people. Its awesome. All the people that saw my note said they were gonna buy it no lie.

Here in India, Samsung is going bonkers with advertising campaign for note. You see it every day on almost all satellite channels. It has reached the point where people have actually started to recognise the phone in public. Everyone knows its Note.
Kinda feel bad as its not something rare or unknown beast that surprises people anymore.
Spewed out using effin awesome Note.

Lat time I traveled in Europe I had three! One for my Oz account with my email / WiFi & contacts, one for my UK / Europe account (because Oz account charge a fortune over there in most countries), and one Sat Phone for use when I was at sea in the Med.
It got so bad I almost gave it all up and went of a Sat Phone all the time, but the reception is useless inside any building.

My neighbors jaw dropped lookin @ my phone..

Funny, I keep explaining to others comparing the same with iPhone, for me its my first Android phone, and I am running ICS and end up showing stuffs pretty much and there will be a crash or something crazy..!! lolz, though after two days I feel other phones are so tiny.

Now imagine this: i show my note and everyone asks:" how much did it cost? " and i simply say:" it was free... Won it in a contest on Stuff.tv site"
And everyone thinks this: Damn you bastard... I never win anything!
And guess what? I already made new friends because of it LOL

The only stranger who ever gave my Note more than a moment's glance was a guy I was sitting beside in a seminar. I was using it both to take notes and record audio, while he was using his GS2 to record, and one of the Galaxy Tabs (I think 8.9) to take notes. He was looking over to it constantly, surely with the thought that it must be a great combination of the two devices.
As far as non-strangers are concerned, my wife (an iPhone 4 user) is jealous about damn near everything I've shown her on it. She might end up with the pink or white Note.

I was really surprised with the amount of positive feedback that people gave to the note, including iPhone users etc.
Something interesting I noticed was that at my campus there seem to be a lot of folks with a phone+iPad or phone+playbook or any other tablet etc. (even my gf falls into this category). It just seems sort of silly to me to carry around two devices everywhere.
To be fair, though, I would never use the Note as a primary note-taking device, and have definitely seen iPad users use their devices for this purpose. Like some other users have mentioned, a 6" screen would be just fine in my book, as long as it still made calls.
However, if I didn't have a stereo bluetooth headset I would notice the size of it when using as an actual phone much more...

Ha. How about this one, I was on the phone with the Note on Thursday afternoon in the foyer of our business complex (talking to ATT nonetheless) and saw a Guy walk past me looking right at the phone and is massive size up to my ear and COMPLETELY forgot to open the door to go outside and slammed right into it.
I laughed and said holy crap bud you okay? He said nothing and ran out the door!

Well, the Note held to your ear IS bonkers for its sheer size...
Yesterday my friends made jokes about exactly this situation all evening long - and yet could'nt resist to playing arround with it. It got the attention from both Galaxy (SI & SII) and iPhone users...

the Note is supreme, the one to rule them all...The only thing I can see missing is IR port, so it could be used as a TV remote, then it would have been the complete phone..the ultimate..
Ericsson P800 had everything, it was supreme...crappy screen and touch function, but not far from the best.

So great that my Archos Tablet is lying on my table and I nearly don't use it anymore

A great review, and he's very entertaining! I agree with him about the size and power of the note making it more than a phone. Any future upgrade will have to be to something very similar to my note.

Great video. I think alot of people thought the same way when they first take a look at it.
Its funny how normal the note is once you get use to it. You only really notice how big it is when you use another device.

It is an awesome phone. I've had mine for about a month mine. Switched from an iPhone 4S. Took me a while to get accustomed but after trying multiple roms and kernels, I now don't think I'd go back to the 4S.

mine arrived yesterday, and its a great device, other than I am still wiping drool from it..

Upgraded from SGS2 last week (loved the S2) for the screen... VERY happy!

Why must all you note users taunt me D:! My paycheck isn't until this Friday!

Well, it's been a good run!

My HD2 has finally failed. A quick death (a week ago working fine; now the dreaded "screen is not responding" issue.)
Just a quick good bye to my HD2 kin.
From learning to theme on WM (making cabs!) to learning android (decompiling!) it was all done here.
Off to something new. Maybe the HTC One...we'll see.
(and if you have tmobile US and have a suggestion, I am all ears...)

Still my favorite device. Screen died on mine too. Gonna try and fix it. I have a Vivid and a One X. Still love the HD2 though.

So true. Wish it would keep working.

I still have my good ol' hd2, only one volume button works, bottom buttons are finnicky, and I had to sacrifice the radio antenna coax to use it for a wifi coax, usb port is broken out of the phone, but I still take it out of my drawer of dead phones and play around with it sometimes. RIP HD2, best smartphone ever made

Hi James, sorry to hear that news buddy,I recently passed on my HD2 to my wife and after very little use by her (tbh she barely uses it as a phone,more like an move player) she had broken the head phone socket,i.e the jack won't slide in. As you can see from my sig I've gone to a galaxy note as my daily driver, it's been a great move, but if you were considering the note, get the international version unless you really need the 4g lte of the us phone.all the best to you ..Marc

Smashed my HD2 on the floor in anger...now I only have bits and pieces of it left. Was my first phone I bought with my first paycheck...more than the price was the emotional value of the phone...nothing can bring it back.
Take a lesson from my experience and never let your anger lead you. :crying::crying:

Cheap knock-off phones?

Hello members, so i was reading about the GooPhone that is supposedly patented with the Iphone 5 design in China. They are apparently ready to sue apple once the phone is released.
Anyway it led me to a site that has android/windows/blackberry devices.
Now they seem legit, have looked around and seen that there are some reviews, only negative comments are about the long shipping.
My question is, has anyone here ever ordered from this site.

I was interested in maybe ordering a device playing with it for a while, then maybe sending to a dev to see if the components would match that of its US counterpart to see if custom ROMS would be able to be installed.

I posted a question to a couple of devices, they claim that they have official
google play app. Wondering the same. I have an upgrade available but nothing catching my eye to use it.

If you want something cheap, look into Huawei, ZTE, Alcatel or Lenovo Phones, most models have decent development and they have great specs for the price.

I really like the OPPO one gonna watch a review or two on it if i can find one in english lmao but the 5.3in galaxy s3 is very cool so i guess ill try to find a review for both

If she really doesn't do anything on it then I would get out for her because 512mb of ram is the same a an IPhone which has fast enough speed for every day tasks not sure if she will need more than 4GB of space but there is a microsd slot up to 32GB so that might help 1GHz processor is beyond overkill for what you said she does so sure why not!

After some careful research, and some digging into chinese forums. These phones are complete fakes.
It seems that they may not ever make it stateside. They also have IMEI problems, so they may work for a week, but after that they seem to start having disconnect problems. Also looks like the GPS will not work, being that it is based in China satelittes will not transmit here.
I almost bought one today, like 3 times, but after more and more digging, I have decided not too.
This seems to be a complete scam. There are a bunch of sites claiming fraudulent accounts among the site as well.
What seemed so nice quickly slips away.

Ouch... Buzzkill... Guess I should've done a little more digging before posting those sites. BTW, do you have any reference links?

I first went on www.fastcardtech.com/forums and was reading the results of users. Alot sounded pretty upset. Although there are not very many replies, there are some feedback.
I asked a question about a device, and then asked the same question again 2days later, and got a different answer. I will do it again, and get a screen shot so that I can show you all. There was another forum in XDA about the site, there are some saying its legit, others not so much.

Upon searching the fastcardtech site brands devices to companies that dont actually have these devices. For instance, I have found the HDC (china phone maker) and they list their products, then you reference the FTC site and there are thousand of HDC branded devices that are not actually HDC brand!

I've seen an apple S4 by them. The screen res is terrible.it had virtually no memory. Build was terrible. Do not waste your money. I'm sure no rom with work on them.

any of these knockoffs will not work with any of the regular roms, you would have to make a rom for that knock off device model.. as you can imagine without a lot of people owning them your chances of getting a good rom is slim.
