Froyo in Oz- coming soon!

Chatted online with an optus business rep today to ask how much the new samsung tablet will be (about the same as a Galaxy, expect a $49 plan for it), also asked if & when froyo for the galaxy is coming on optus. He said OTA update will be in first week in september!
Sorry if this is old news. I can post a copy of the conversation if anyone wants it, I printscreened it but forgot to paste & lost it..

I think this might be slightly outdated. Initial rumors pointed that Galaxy S would be getting Froyo in Korea before the end of August with it rolling out internationally in September. The rumor was so strong that the news media weere saying that the local carrier was aiming to give unlimited data and encourage tethering after an August Froyo release.
There are only 3 business days remaining in Korea, so that rumor seems to be coming and going without being fulfilled. Also, the rumor mill here hasn't been hot, which I expected it would be by now if we were indeed getting this in August.

Sprint price drop...what next???

Upon hearing about the price drop, I called Sprint to get my $100.
Believe it or not, I was instructed to come in and exchange for a new Gtab in order to get that money back instead of just giving me the credit...whatever.
Here's the important thing.
With Sprint saying they have a huge event coming on Feb 7, I made sure I will have 30 days to return as of tomorrow in case this is what I suspect it is. I wonder if they plan on releasing a dual core honeycomb ready tablet?!?!?!?
I have to be prepared for that because I feel that if they do this, Gtab owners are screwed if they can't exchange. Even if they don't, if Verizon holds true to releasing the Xoom next month, I want to be prepared for that option also.
I hadn't seen this posted here yet so I wanted to at least let you all know what I had to do to get the Sprint payback but also so we could discuss any revelations here about all this...

I'm going to return my tab if they don't give me a credit or cash without exchanging. And ill go to another carrier

It's probably a refreshed version of the samsung tab with 5mp camera and wimax just like the new verizon samsung tab.

My wife went to the Sprint store by her office and exchanged it for me today...as she was told to do. They told her once she got there that she could keep it and just get the credit. She told them that since we had to wipe it out and she had to make a trip there, she wanted a new one. On top of that, it was the only way to secure the 30 day return policy starting today. This way just in case something big happens on the 7th, we still have a chance.
The only rumors I can find on line indicate they could be coming out with a 4G Galaxy Tab on the 7th as has already been mentioned.
I can't seem to find much else that would help us out as far as what may be coming...

AT&T Release Date?!

Has anyone heard of rumors of AT&T getting it anytime soon...

There's actually rumors that sgs2 will never be released in US.
Thr only rumors I heard were several months ago that it'd be released in March. Then beginning of June... then it went completely silent.
I just went and bought an unlocked, pure Samsung SGS2 for $675 shipped (free nextday delivery from Hong Kong). Couldn't be happier right now =)
I suggest if you have the budget for it, don't wait for a gimped ATT version and get the real thing.

There are quite a few threads running where the source of that info has been discredited. There have been pics of the Sprint version in the wild and the 2.3.4 leak has AT&T's LTE APNs and PNGs of their LTE logo it in it. So it's definitely coming to the U.S., the question is when?

It is supposed to launch Q3, so July, August, or September probably. I would say end of August or September, but that's my guess.
If it is launching with LTE as was suggested on this board, then it will be released sometime when att officially announces its LTE network in 5 cities at the end of this summer.
I think Sprint will be the first to get it as we have leaked pictures of the Sprint version already.

If the sgs2 was released in the u.s. With the current phone offerings it would destroy other oem's. To include apple. I bet that's why they dumbed it down and released the infuse.

it's launch in PUerto Rico USA Territory in Claro PR about a month ago

Well it's not VZW since their version hasn't been through the FCC. So it's either Sprint because their's was spotted or AT&T's because LTE code for it is in 2.3.4. Based on volume, especially corporate accounts, AT&T would be Samsung's more important customer. But if AT&T's trying to tie it to the launch of their LTE network that could be later than August. Anyone want to start a pool?

Ad that Verizon model is realesed on the 21st

Maybe this is wishful thinking and I know that this is probably just an error but just recently I saw a Verizon ad on here that said the phone is to be released for Verizon on the 21st. Has anyone else came across this? Also one thing to note is that when I clicked on the link it took me directly to the Verizon pre order page

That would be a very interesting leak if true. I wonder if it is just taking the date of when the phones are starting to release in the US and putting a random company preorder page link in each time. I however, have all ads blocked so I'd never see that banner.

They did say BY July 9/10... So there might be a chance? It's all wishful thinking at this point. Lol

Well one of the early rumors said the 28th as release. So I guess it's possible. By this point though I'm just waiting for an email saying my order has shipped and hoping I'm not having to wait over a weekend to get it.

My friend pre ordered one from radio shack and they told him it releases on the 21St. They called him a while after he pre ordered that he could pick up on the 21st

S4 Release Date Speculation

Has anyone else noticed that in some of the snapshots of this phone, like the ones used to advertise the cases being released for it, the screen shows a date of April 22nd?
I also saw a case on Amazon that said it would be in stock April 20th.
Could there be any basis in the rumor that the GS4 is going to be released on April 20th/22nd/sometime during that week?

What is the point if realeased 20 21 or 26 april???

This guy has an upgrade in April, too!! I've never had a smartphone and I'm sick of being behind the curve, so I am buying whatever is the latest and greatest.

One more month to go. I think S4 will reach Malaysia earliest by July. Still a long time to wait...

I really hope it comes out in April or in early May. I don't want to wait that long I wish Verizon would hurry up and announce the release date!

I've had my upgrade since December. I'm tired of waiting for this sucker.

Does anyone know when models with greater than 16gb of built in storage will be available? I've noticed all the ones up for pre-order are 16gb here in the UK, I called Vodafone because their website wasn't working, and they said best they can do is let me know when they know. Does anyone else know?
