[Q] What phone after HD2? - HD2 General

I was just thinking what phone should I go for after my sweet HTC HD2.. I am proud owner of HD2 for 3 years now and I still love it for what it does even now.. But as you know the next gen phones are coming out every other day with front facing cam, near field communication etc which are hardware upgrades not possible to be implemented in our HD2, I was wondering what would be the next best phone to move on and which would have a good XDA support.. So guys please help me to choose one and also I think this would be helpful for many others..

I too am (still) a proud HD2 owner. That phone rocks, and always will.
I upgraded in December though, to the SGS2 and am thrilled with it.
I swore I would leave it stock, for a really long time...and 4 days later began with the flashing/upgrading/modding again.
There aren't quite so many options for the S2, as the HD2 but only b/c on the HD2 I could flash winMo in various versions, and Android etc etc etc. You know the drill. Mine doesn't have NFC, but really I read an article last week that said that there are sth like 25 stores in America where you can pay with NFC. Bah, who needs it.
If you can afford it, and money's no thing, grab a Nexus. If you're on a budget (like me) and you want a phone that you'll still be stoked with (and absolutely thrilled about the price) check into the SGS2. I'm an Android lover, so I'm diggin' it.
Good luck!

Be patient and wait for a real upgrade - HTC Edge/Supreme (4.7" 720p S-LCD2; Tegra 3; 1 GB RAM). Will be presented next month at MWC.

But what are the chances of scoring one for < €350?
The SGS2 has a major price advantage over anything out now, or coming out in the next year.

Thanks guys for the replies.. I know SGS2 is good but I don't like Samsung's build quality.. I didnt know about HTC supreme.. Looks interesting.. and I always love the HTC's solid build quality..

Waiting for the Tegra 3 devices, for sure! I waited for 2 months for the HD2 to become available and get delivered. Looks to me a bit longer for these epic devices.
Was tempted by the Vivid/Raider/Velocity for about a day, until I saw the Edge/Supreme.
I will be sad to see the mighty HD2 go, but it will go on to a worthy user.

Hi Guys,
I used to have an HD2 and a SGS2. I now have a htc sensation XL and im really proud of it. The quality of HTC is always the best for me. It has a 1.5 gHz processor but a large screen. Its very fast and you have beats audio. If you were happy with your HD2 I think the Sensation XL is the best option for you. The galaxy s2 had so many random reboots. I tried every version on it but nothing works perfectly.

i moved to a galaxy note

I bought the sensation back in October and have been more than satisfied with it. It is a very solid phone and has enough power to hold you over for at least a couple years. Just barely have they started coming out with apps that really use the dual core processors, so I wouldn't worry about having more than what the sensation has. And to my understanding the processor chip is the EXACT one used in XE so overclocking from stock 1.2 to a blazing 1.5 ghz is no problem. Some kernels are available with up to a little over 1.7 ghz so speed is definitely not an issue.

been using HD2 for 4months now and this is a legendary phone...
I'm always looking for a 2nd hand phone because i'm still studying..
I think SGS2 will be my next choice when the price reduced like when i buy my HD2....

To XL owners: is 4.3" to 4.7" noticeable for e-reading and browsing?

I assume it is as noticeable as the difference between a 4" and a 4.3" which in my opinion is quite a bit.

I think, the next HD2 will be the new HTC Ville(Codename). It should available in Q1/2012.
The technical Data sounds good especially for custom ROMS because it has 16GB internal Memory and 1GB RAM inside.

Hello,
the next Phone... hmmm good Question. After i flashed Android 2.3.7 and 4.0.3 i want WinMo back
So i wait for HD8 of course. Maybe in the middle of 2012?

With noticeably bigger screen,dc processor and camera etc ..galaxy Note is a worthwhile upgrade from HD2.May be just wait some more time and get it with ICS + display improvement (?)..

I think i am just stopping with my HD2 when it's broken.
And then move on to another HTC phone, but it HAS to be an android phone.

I just moved from my HD2 to a Sensation. It does not have quite the development that the HD2 has, but it has the same screen size with with better resolution. I have definitely become an HTC fan and I am pleased with the Sensation. Also, they can be found for a little over $200.

I've had my HD2 since 2009, my next phone will be Android and not Windows.
I like the Samsung Galaxy Note and its 5.3" screen but I'm waiting to see if HTC bring out an equivalent to the Note but with ICS pre-installed.

Help with new device decision

Hey peeps,
I am currently on the HD2 EU running NAND gingerbread.
On 20 Feb my cell contract renews and I can get a new phone. I have looked at both the Desire HD and the Galaxy S. The Galaxy S only seems to have a superior screen and the DHD superior everything else (IMO that is).
What would you HD2 peeps do and why? I really need some help deciding here please guys. I love my HD2 to bits and want to make sure I get a device that matches it or beats it.
I am asking this in the HD2 forums as I know most of you love your devices as much as I do so will know where I am coming from.
The HD2 wont go into a drawer at the end of the week BTW. I will still continue to flash the kak out of it
TIA - Mike

SIM only contract, monthly, and wait 'till something seriously cool comes out. Watch Barcelona news during the next couple of weeks... new chip sets means new phones... something interesting on six months time, perhaps?
Going to be hard to leave a phone with this much flexibility when the time comes, but for me, until it feels stretched, it's a keeper.

If you have to get one right now, then i'd say the galaxy s. Reasons being:
Better graphics chip, and maybe processor
Screen
Proper HD recording
16/8 gb of memory
secondary video camera (but who actually uses it, it's only there to show off) >.>
However, one big draw back of the galaxy s, atleast for me, is no sense UI as of now.
If you need not get a new phone right now, then wait. The next gen phones are coming out soon anyways. Well some of them.
Samsung galaxy nexus
i would imo say neither... simply because they are both only SLIGHT upgrades over your current hardware! the desire is now a legacy device with very low dev (again imo) and there is a reson why most HD2 ports come straight from the Nexus.
you and i are in the same boat ... id suggest, as hard as it will be, to continue to hold off on an upgrade. i mean honestly what would you be getting? another half gig of ram amd a front cam ... ooooooo!?! :-D
again these are just my opinions
sorry i was reading through some bong haze and didnt even pay a bit of attention to the OP date lol oops!

HTC HD2 upgrade to what?

Hi All
I am due a free upgrade in March, I currently have the HTC HD2, I love playing about with SD builds and running gingerbread on this phone.
My question is, what phone should I buy next that the devs here are working on sd android builds?
Thanks

Keep the HD2 and move yourself over to NAND Android Builds.
Get the upgrade, sell the upgrade, keep the hd2!
for me (2 months on contact to run) i'll be dropping a chunk off of the monthly contract and go to sim only, and buy another hd2 direct for when this one (broken screen, faulty gps,,, dropped it, , , ,) finally gives out, and wait for a year and see where the phone/tablet convergence leads.
HTC Pyramid, for sure
As other suggested...keep the HD2, sell the upgrade lol
But if you really want to upgrade, wait for dual core phones to come out..anything else than that is not worth..
What's the general feeling for the max. screen size for a phone? The HD2 with 4.3" is a good size, and I'm very happy with mine, but a 5" screen or so (like the Dell Streak) could still fit in a shirt / back pocket....
I'm waiting for 1280 x 720 resolution on whichever phone I get next....
I would personally stick with the HD2. There doesnt seem to be much out there at the moment that is heaps better than the HD2. I am waiting for some of the dual core models to come out before I think about upgrading..
MyTouch 4G
Why not get the MyTouch 4G... my wife has it and it's a great phone. Fast and bright. Front facing camera is cool too.
Don't know if it can be programmed like the HD2, but if it can, then that's a good phone.

nah, another year of the hd2 and the quad cores will be out. skip teh duals altogether.

Read somewhere the Samsung Galaxy S2 will be a 4.3 inch screen with 1280x720 resolution, dual core CPU at 2GHz. Mouth watering...
Personally, I'm waiting to see if the new BlackBerry with the touchscreen gets released on T-MoUS and is worth buying before upgrading. Otherwise I'm waiting on dual core devices like everyone else. Right now my HD2 does everything it needs to do. Would love the front facing camera but I know if I got whats out right now I'd be pissed in about 6 months when they start releasing phones with some awesome specs.

first time that i hear the name......dual-core cpu sounds interesting.
I left my HD2 for a G2. But honestly I like the HD2 better from a hardware perspective. The G2 just seems to run a little better than the HD2 especially games so that's the reason I eventually left my HD2. But unless you get the option to upgrade a line only 6 months into a contract for free for a G2 I would hold on to your upgrade for something better. I have both the Vibrant and the G2 and neither are significant upgrades of the HD2. In fact I think the HD2 runs much better day to day than my wife's Vibrant. Wait for the dual cores or something comparable to the HD2 in native Android form.
I'm getting the Atrix 4g, just ordered it. Now that I see the bootloader has the possiblity of being cracked, I now want it. However, if the samsung galaxy II had come out already, i would get it instead as I fancy myself with taking pictures.
Well I won't be tossing my hd2 though. Atleast, i don't want to.
A Tmo rep told me that the LG Optimus 3D will be on Tmo soon.
I am saving my upgrade too for something dual core.
But I will always keep my trusting and flash fun HD2.
I've been keeping a spreadsheet of the specs of the latest android phones and the activity on their respective XDA Android Development Sections. The XDA data is probably a week old. Performance ratings are from benchmarks on Anandtech.

[Q] What to get after HD2...

Hi all
I was just wondering if you can share any comments what smartphone have best apps in 2011.
What you will buy after HD2 ?
thanks
This is a question thats on my mind at the minute as well.
The main problem for me is that Ive become so used to the 4.3" screen that I really dont think I could handle using a phone with a screen of less than 4".
Im currently torn between the DHD, Nexus S, Incredible S, Desire S or the Sensation.
Im seriously thinking about waiting until June for the sensation, my concern is the battery though. HTC seem to be pretty lax when it comes to getting optimal battery life from a phone, the sensation with its dual core and new sense (which will probably be even more of a memory hog than the old sense) is going to tear the arse out of any battery.
Theres also the issue of how long its going to take to acheive root / s-off.... (Im very impatient and will not be able to put up with sense for that long, I really dont like the android version for some reason.)
DHD, obviously very similar to the HD2 with a good amount of development going on. However, poor battery life and the age of the device put me off a little. When I upgrade I'm going to have that phone for 18 months so I feel like I should probably go for a evice thats as new as possible.
Nexus, the only thing really putting me off is the fact that its made of nasty looking shiny plastic and doesnt feel as solid as the HD2. Also not a huge selection of custom ROMS for it from what I can see, compared to some devices.
So errr yeah... lol
Well I would recommend you to watch the latest updates at MIX 11 about WP7 Mango update I think you will like it a lot. And now that DFT is bringing Custom SPL to WP7 Source: Twitter (CotullaCode)
I think Android is great, it opens many doors specially for people on XDA, but the thing is. I always think android is missing the experience. It's not fun, and it's just an OS with apps. I will use Android till the end of my contract... And when the time comes I definitely get a WP7 device. Of course an 4.3"(+) screen. Once you get a fridge phone always a fridge phone Personally I'm waiting for Nokia to join the WP7 party, I know Nokia has the best and trustworthy hardware for their phones.
I just took Nexus S, actually looks not bad but screen is noticeably smaller. I did it because I wanted to resell my HD2 while still in warranty and Samsung are offering very good discounts on the SNS in France (it costs less than the Galaxy!). When Sensation comes out and price calms down I'll resell the SNS to get that marvel. Sadly, I'm hugely missing HTC Sense...
seriously even i am kinna confused i i say i want desirehd its been already ported to hd2 & so also nexus...i hope htc comes out dual core hd2...so we can start the fun all over again i know its not possible!
But ATM its just hd2 for me!
I think HTC EVO 3D will be my next phone after HD2 TMOUS
Simple, ....Another HD2

Sadly I totaly disagree with your Nokia statement - they have lost the plot in high end phones over the last couple of years.
The N8 is a software nightmare, as was the 5800 and that range of phones.
Their new mid range phone C7 - C5 have software issues.
This is not just my view I work it Mobile technical support. Nokia are no longer the top manufacturer - they do not rate the top 5 now. Use Google and read the comments from their CEO, he says about the same!
Incredible is my next phone - if my provider supply it
I think that Iphone 4 is superior for the touch screen and for the smoothness of system...Nevertheless I'm waiting for new devices of Htc like Sensation or evo 3d to make a choice...
Samsung Galaxy S 2 anyone?
I've been wondering this too. I just bought an HD2, but of course, the phone is a year old already, and smartphones are now getting 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and dual core processors.
Before long, the HD2 is going to be out of date.
Personally, the most attractive aspect of the HD2 to me is how incredibly hackable it is. If I were to upgrade, I would hope whatever phone I upgrade to would have several OSes available to use too (as opposed to just several derivatives of the same OS).

Hit the nail on the head there brother!
The HD7 is a minor temptation, but after playing with a Mozart I found that there is no connecting to a hidden network, or as a mass storage device. A shame as everything else is very nice in WP7.
So I am keeping my eye out for hot deals on HD2's
Edit: Forgot about the non-removeable/expandable storage in WP7 (I have 32Gb in my HD2)
probably getting sensation for daily driver but will be saving this HD2 because its superphone over anything, probably ever because of OS possibilities.
If there doesnt come any other better phones than sensation I will be getting it when it releases.

this or the htc sensation, im tempted to save the money and buy an s2 with the tegra 2 chip. It seems like tegra 2 will be widely supported and it'll have games optimised for it also it may lead to the phone being cracked faster.
For me there realy isnt any phone that beats HD2 (still). Im a WM6.1 ,WM6.5.x fanboy. the only hing that I miss at HD2 is harwware keyboard. but other then that it still is the perfect phone in my opinion. I never oliked phones that you get bored of quickly. HD2 has alot of development going on xda. you can have numerous OSes running on it. It never gets boring. I probably will not change my phone before there is realy something special (no, galaxy S 2 isnt special enough ).
At the moment I'm still torn between different OS's(ssssss). I've been warming to WinPho 7, but after reading over on Pocket Now about some of the things that might STILL be missing even after the Mango update later this year, I don't think I can wait. http://pocketnow.com/windows-phone/windows-phone-7-mango-the-missing-features No smart dialing, no flash support in the browser? What on earth are Microsoft doing?
Having said I can't wait for Microsoft to get their act together, if I could stick a super LCD in my HD2 and a better camera sensor, I would happily keep it for another year or two until quad core chips are out and are selling at reasonable money.
The Sensation will be such a rip-off SIM-free here in the UK this summer I couldn't bring myself to buy one; there'll be much better and more efficient hardware out by the end of '11, beginning '12 ; )
G2x
Stock Android
Tegra Dual Core
4g
Supports a WIDE range of spectrums and supports ATT 3g along with T-Mobile's 4g and 3g
All screen and no keyboard.
It's literally future proof (since ATT will be eating Tmobile soon)
The SGS2 looks better than the Sensation in terms of specs?

[Q] HD2 or Sensation?????

Comrades,
I am coming to the end of my contract just in time for the Sensation..
I love my HD2 (android) but a few wee things annoy me like low call voice (switched on and off speaker, only works for that call) and battery drain.
Is the DFT or other Android ROMs as fast and stable as the stock HTC rom?
I know the phone will be faster but it won’t be long until the XDA chaps crack the new ROM and I can put it on to the HD2.
Sensation obviously, but i would wait for the gsmversion of the evo3d(if that one still comes)
I was excited about the sensation coming to t mobile as well..........
Until I saw the specs of the SGS2 and sensation side by side.
I hate sense (on android) and touchwiz but when you look at the specs against one another its ridiculous...
HTC really dropped the ball with the sensation and to be honest you'd be better off getting the Sensation from T-mobile selling it, buying an HD2 and have some money left over
Either that or an SGS2 (27th may on Tmo)
Edit;
lol if I'd actually paid attention when reading your post I'd have seen that you already have an HD2...
If its the newer version of sense you want then you'd be better with the sensation as its going to have the extra RAM to deal with the memory hogging abomination that is HTC Sense.....
(I hate sense, in case you hadnt noticed)

As a Photographer
I would not get too bothered with camera MP density. The Iphones camera is **** hot @ 5MP.
The EVO 3D sound good, more RAM and a friggin 3D screen………..but the back of it is ugly.
If you wait for the next phone to arrive you would never have a phone. LOL.
Personally I'm going to keep my HD2 going until I find out about the SGSII coming to T-Mobile. I'm also due an upgrade and I just don't know if I want to use it on the Sensation with the SGSII out there. Luckily my HD2 does everything I need so no rush here. Will probably wait to see them both in person in a couple months. SGSII should be ROM'd by then and we will know more about Sensation and if can be ROM'd.

Well generally, custom roms are faster than stock roms. E.g. Our custom rom of the desire hd is faster than a desire hd running its stock rom. However seeing as the sensation is per say 2x the performance of the HD2, the sensation running on its stock rom will more likely be better than the HD2 running a custom rom based on the sensation.
dont know if the qHD 960x540 will be support in near future?
GS2 hardware is good with 1 gb ram, but dont how good is the GPU?
Yes the nexushd2-gingerbread v2.7 is fast, stable and next to boyppc-shiftpda gingersense.s v20 it is the best rom in my opinion
i know what you are going through... i love my HD2 but that Pyramid looks amazing in its own. What im doing is just keeping my HD2 and will put the ROM on it when a cook like Imilka figures out a nice port of it or the MyTouch 4G Slide ROM. Im always looking for the latest ROM on my phone and with the HD2 i can do that now. If i got the Pyramid I know i would be anxious for hacks to come for it. Once my HD2 craps out that would be my first choice because HTC makes a great phone, Im leary of Samsung because of all the update problems that happens with it so far on Tmo... Im actually trying out a EVO 3D ROM < Kingdom > now and its been running pretty smooth. Well hopefully this gives you some insight on your choice...
Lawl this update thing has become much too dramatic. xD
It's not samsung that's slowing down these updates or giving slow updates, it's the carriers. xD
Look at samsung, they released GB a month or two/three if you count the leaks. That's like the second or third phone to get GB officially, aside from the nexus one and nexus s? Which are google phones so of course they'd get it first. Samsung doesn't handle the updates for a T&t, verizon, sprint or t-mo, they don't. So they've done their job, it's all up to the carriers to finish this up.
thats only partially true..
the carriers do work with Samsung and Google to get out the updates but I work for Tmobile and its not an Over the Air Update on the Galaxy S phones. The updates are through a website that Samsung set up that you download it while synced to a pc and the updates so far have caused more bugs and headaches than they have been worth..
of course thats for peeps that wait for official updates, not for us who mod and use this site.
not saying by any means that its a horrible phone, just not my choice personally thats all...
everyone has thier own opinions and i have just always had great luck with HTC is all...
I would go for EVO 3D. Not only because it is better in everything compared to the Sensation and all that 3D bull****, but mostly because it looks fabulous. Best looking HTC ever in my opinion.
i would go for the Evo 3D aswell ,
apparently is will come to Europe , when it does , i'll be first in line to get 1

Also if you play games a Lot, then the Sensation is a better bet, the Adreno 220 is faster than the rest of the GPU's found in phones ...
regards.
Lawl where did you get that info bout the adreno 220 being faster?
The benchmarks of the 1.5ghz model? Mind you it's running a dual core 1.5 ghz, meaning two 1.5 ghz compared to a 1ghz/1.2ghz dual core. So what does that say?
Point being it was the 1.5 ghz model, not the 1.2ghz own, so we can't say which is better right now. Plus we have to remember the sgs 2 caps it's frame rate.
Anyways, as far as GPU's are concerned however, I'm pretty sure the power vr sgx543 is the best right now. Sad samsung didn't make that move.
Thanks chaps for your points, all valid.
SGS2 does look to have the hardware and i know i will up set myfellow Scot, but I LIKE SENCE...when i look at the screen it tells me what i need to know. then its back into the pocket..
I will now goto Tmob on 16th and haggle a free phone with more calls and data or threaten to leave..........wish me luck.
Thanks again.

Goodbye HD2

Have been HD2 user for nearly 2 years now. Been through all the good phases which the phone has to offer, WinMo 6.5 Custom ROMS in the begining then Android through SD card/Haret and then finally Android through NAND. Also gave WP7 and WP7 NODO a try too, two sepeate times, but somehow it was just unstable for me and never really worked out, so had it uninstalled and went back to Android within 2 days both the times.
It has been a great phone throughout, there was new joy each time a bug was ironed out or new dev was made for it by awesome devs here, like NAND or porting of gingerbread and more recently ICS or the solving of persisting GPS problem by tytung or the custom brightness issue just recently or the porting of new 2.6.35.x kernels by Mark & warrenb and many more I can't remember
But as all must good things come to an end, with a heavy heart I say good bye to my beloved HD2 and pack it to be shipped from my place to its lucky new owner who doesn't know even difference between android and windows btw and move on to HTC sensation..
It still is very capable phone and has atleast 1 more year of life in it, I decided to move on because the hardware buttons on my phone break quite often, had it repaired 2 times already because of same fault, only if HTC had decided to use capacitive buttons at that time
Anyway hope devs keep up the good work and we have full working ICS w/ 3.0.8 kernel on it and 720p recording soon and WP7.5 Mango without any issues for wp lovers
Many thanks to Cotulla, Tytung, NRGZ, Hastarin, Darkstone, Markinus, Marc, Warren, CM team, MIUI team and all the ROM chefs and devs I missed out (sorry I can't name each one of you)
Also HTC deserves a mention too, for creating a phone which was ahead of times with a badass 4.3 display which started the trend of big phones and their awesome Sense UI
Lastly, I would mention the awesome HD2 community we have here on XDA which keeps this phone rocking.
To HD2 the best phone ever
Decide to go for Amaze 4G over Sensation. Hopefully, it would be a worthy upgrade

hmm, you used to be indecisive but now youre not so sure
i am sure many long time owners are looking around for the next 'HD2'.
what made you decide on Sensation over Amaze 4G?
and not Samsung Galaxy S II, the screen is a lot brighter...
HD2 is amazing, tried pretty much everything on it, WM, WP, Android... Will be switching to something new once Windows Phone 8 Apollo hardware is out.
Just can't understand why you would go with HTC Sensation (Android) over Titan II or Lumia 900 (WP 7.5) though
I am pretty sure that Lumia 800-900 is the new HD2, at least for the WP users,

Sensation and Amaze are both excellent phones. However IMO Amaze is what the original sensation should have been.It has better camera(s), data speed, no death grip issue, NFC, dedicated mic for active noise cancellation. There is also more CPU and RAM on Amaze but that I think it would negate for now if you put MIUI/CM7/9 on sensation, which you can't put on Amaze right now because HTC doesn't gave it S-OFF yet . So you are stuck with Sense UI on Amaze, but i don't mind it as its an excellent software. That's why the indecisiveness, I'm going from a phone with most dev to a phone with very low dev
Galaxy SII is a better phone when compared to Amaze in physical aspects as its lighter, slimmer, better screen and bigger battery. However Amaze has better build quality and has a slightly better camera. Rest of the Hardware is same for both on TMO version. But its expensive normally coz being more popular. Its normally more than $450.
I settled for Amaze as I scored an excellent deal from eBay for 350.
So it all depends on your budget. You get mint sensation normally for 300-350, Amaze is around 400 mark while the SGSII is 450-500.

I went with the Samsung Galaxy Note. I like it a lot, but I LOVED My HD2s (4 in all- just put the last 2 together up on eBay: 1 still working great & the other for parts, and an unbeleivable difficult to part with collections of bike mounts and extra batteries et all.) I just had to, to help pay for the off-contract Note. Sad day.

I am BIG fan of HTC. Currently courting the wrong side (Samsung) and would love to go get a ONE X but the only thing keeping me from ONE X is the lack of microSD. Does anyone know whether SG3 will have microSD? It seems like the general trend is to omit it.
I just ditched Sansung GS2 SKyrocket for HD2.
Gosh I hate the battery drainage on LTE and 4g.
No matter how fast dual core cpu is and how fancy the super amoled plus looks, its all useless if you have to charge the phone every 6 hours
I am sticking with my HD2 for now. You gotta love the fact that all the devs and support that are far greater on HD2 than any other phones.
I will wait hold my 500 dollars until all those manufacturers do something about the battery on LTE and 4G.

Getting emotionally attached to a phone is weird, but i also share that same feeling
All these phone just do what they are supposed to do, the HD2 did so much more than what it was supposed to, that's what it made it so special
Still have it and works like a charm, but for next device
HTC Hurrkian 1.5 Ghz quad core
Android 4.0
Sense UI 4.0
Camera 12 mega pix
Display 4.3inch 720p

just one month ago i have bought this phone fo 130 euros with no sound that i fixed fo free thanx to my experience with electronics. Few days after that I installed android and every day after that i was testing almost every possible rom for hd2. Now I must say the only thing. This phone just rocks like hell. I didnt know that this phone can handle so much . I know that there are better phones out there if we are talking about specs but I must say that this phone is inspiration for other or new developers. It also inspired me and I am also looking forward to build my own rom for this phone even if I know there are plenty of really good roms for this phone. But I must also say that I am looking forward to buy HTC ONE X or SAMSUNG Galaxy S3 when it comes out. But anyway I WILL KEEP THIS PHONE even after its death
Sent from my Dorimanx powered HTC HD2
Ive had like 15 different roms on my sd in the last 2 months, and havent flashed magldr yet, 1 year and a half... when my contract ends is gonna be hard to chose a new phone.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using xda premium
HD2 its a very good phone with a lot of developing work. But like others phones the company plan to keep up to date the newest phones and forget the older. Its a hard work to a developer build the roms and test it. I think that the equation good hardware(phone) + good developers gives the result of excelent on this phone.

just check out the nokia support froum.
but the ones that pee me off is
1. poor battery life
2. badly grounded screen so jitters on touch
3.random reboots
4.poor audio quailty through headphone jack
there is a new update pushing out now but i dont have much faith in it as the past ones just brought more bugs to the phone.
i've recently moved from hd2 to sensation xe. i really like the xe, but i'll never get rid of hd2, its the first phone i've kept after getting a new one........
I too finally moved on from my HD2 to a Galaxy S II. However, I must say as quick and enjoyable as the GSII is I still pop my sim back into my HD2 every couple of days to mess around with Windows Phone. I bought the phone when it launched on TMOUS and never thought I'd be able to run Android and Windows Phone let alone that it would be able to keep up for this long.
