Hmms, why is the name so weird? Anyway, it isn't going to be of any use for cm 9 development unless they release the source code.
This will be a game changer
^ I hope same, so eagerly waiting......
I thought they said there won't be any new leak in this month! Lol.
can someone describe why this kernel is a "game changer"?

Good news.
10 more minutes guys... 10 more minutes...
Is it 10 minutes yet
Lets hope this is better than LP2 and gives a solid platform to work from. But we are already on revision 3-4-5 of most peoples cooked ICS roms, and now back to the start again and initial bug finding to begin again.
SO much fun.
Yep it is. Woohoo

Edited: Is it better to link to Sammobile than the direct link so as to give them credit??
Downloading! It's on hotfile, as usual, should take about 20 min for me. Will try to upload to rapidshare.

What's really funny is that this one shows up through Kies Mini. It now says "Latest Firmware: 2010-12-29" and that I'm up-to-date. I'm on the Oct. JI6.
It would be hilarious if it was a mislabeling of JL6 that was officially released, but due to the naming issue wasn't distributed.
then it is JI6 right?
The only way we would know is if someone leaks it out. Hopefully Krylon360 or rhcp0112345 can check it out. Because it would be really cool if it was a NEW froyo and just mislabeled.
How is the battery life?
This is not a rom. Everyone here is wondering if this New firmware that showed up on Samfirmware is New or Old which we cant tell until someone gets there hands on it.
Hey Zender2k can you post the link where you found this. I been looking but cant find it.

Strange, the LAST_MODIFIED date has definitely changed (in the Kies output) but the filename/encrypt stirng/crc are the same as the last time I checked (11/01/10).
Downloading whatever is on kies anyway just for giggles.
Can I flash this with Odin?
Not one bit was changed in this "new" JI6 versus what I had downloaded back in November.

Which tool are people going to use to flash this?
Brilliant.
They've kept face unlock and ICS task management.. I'm happy with that.
Probably use aosp/cm if it's released soon then this when they've ironed it out after a release or two.
Mirror please! I´m having problems with Hotfile
I´m going to test this Rom with LolBoot-Dualboot (when I manage to download it).

Download link:
http://hotfile.com/dl/162208594/226b6f0/I9100XXLQ5_I9100OXALQ5_OXA.zip.html
Install instructions:
- Download zip folder from Hotfile and extract
- Make sure you have Kies installed
- Open up odin
- Put your phone into download mode (home, power and down), confirm with up when prompted
- Plug your phone in
- Use the following to help you:
PDA = Code
Phone = Modem
CSC = GT-I9100-CSC-MULTI
- Leave everything else the same
- Start
This will wipe all data to be sure to make a backup before.
How to get root:
Download the latest CF-root kernel and install through odin as PDA
Other notes:
I'm currently using the latest Siyah kernel due to preference, I can't confirm whether others will work.
Changes I've noticed:
- Much smoother experience in touchwiz, menus and browser
- New menu style with icons next to text
- Ability to have battery percentage mod as standard
- Ability to remove lock screen help text as standard
- Auto adjust screen power depending on images shown
- New downloads icon
- Contacts icon appears in phone and visa versa
- Small UI changes in phone and contact
- Digital Clock widget shows or hides am/pm depending on system preference
- Galaxy Note style recent apps
There may be more but that's all I've noticed.
Sorry this isn't fancy but I don't have the time, I'm not responsible for any damage caused to your phone for doing this!

Overall scrolling seems to be better for me, tested on some long web pages, much better than 4.0.3. Some minor UI changes, most noticably the menu layout. On display settings you can add battery percentage, remove slide to unlock text. I'll keep digging. I'd say you should definitely update, no bugs found yet.
Cheers Samsung!

Samsung had two options for testing their firmwares.
(1) Hire expensive testing team
(2) Leak the firmware and get thousands of testers on XDA for free!!!!!
By adopting second option, now all samsung need is one kid to sit infront of computer browsing on this forum and noting down bugs.

I'd like to give you the latest I9300 XXUFME7 – Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean test firmware for the Galaxy S III.
Development on Android 4.2.2 update isn’t completely done yet. We do not know if Samsung will bring the new Galaxy S4 Camera features to the Galaxy S3. We expect Samsung to do this but we are not really sure if Samsung will do this with Android 4.2.2 or with 4.3 for the Galaxy S3.
Android 4.2.2 is still under testing phase by Samsung and they will release the official final Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S III in July/August. We wanted to give Samsung’s hardcore fans a sneak preview of what Samsung is up to at their dev center.
New enhancements in Android 4.2.2 XXUMFE7 update :
- New S4 Lockscreen: Multiple Widgets, two Unlock effects (Ripple and Light), improved ripple effect than Android 4.1.2, ability to change clock size and set a personal message
- New Screen modes (From S4): Adapt Display and Professional Photo
- Daydream
- Driving mode
- Actionable notifications
- New Additions in Notification Center
- Completely revamped Settings UI (Tabbed interface – Exactly like the S4)
- Addition of Voice controls (Let’s you control various parts of the phone using voice commands – Galaxy S4 feature)
- Gallery modes have white background (When changing gallery modes to 3D the background changes to white)
- Full screen Samsung apps
- New S-Voice (from S4)
- New smart switch widget
Still same like the XXUMFE3
