Does anyone think that there will be a A200 port to the A500? I checked it out in Best Buy and the new UI in it is pretty nice. Just wondering..
a200 port
There has been one for a while but its just the basic stock rom. Google is how I found it.
So this would mean certain ICS then right? Because if it has already been ported over, then when ICS is released for it in Febuary, then we will get it...
Depending how clever the devs are, you may loose things like the rear camera and the HDMI port as the A200 doesn't have these and it could prove a challenge to add them to a port... Sorta like running the A500 rom on an A501, loose the 3g and GPS.

I've only had my A500 for a week, but have noticed there are ROMs based on Asus and Galaxy Tab, but not Xoom. Why is this?
I ask specifically because of the 3.2 release for Xoom. I'm assuming once a 3.2 is released for one of either Asus or Galaxy, we'll see a 3.2 for the A500?

i cant tell you for sure. but xoom is mostly stock. we get the asus and galaxy roms because they offer some integrated features that are appealing to many users. such as accessing the sd card via usb on asus or the ui enhancements of the galaxy. im sure we will get a ported 3.2 rom soon. as it looks like it was just released.
yeah
Not only that but the xooms kernal source is being withheld. Others have released their kernal sources

I don't think it is... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1124712
Moto locks are thier stuff. Whick make devs have nightmares and head achs trying to port motos roms to other devices.
On another note its a lot easier to make ports if the roms are deodexed and because of how moto locks and makes their apps when devs try to deodex the roms (meaning apps can run on their own not relying fully on the framework folder) we get errors.

So the htc flyer looks nasty good and was wondering if it is possible to get a rom port similar to the xoom port or the galaxy ports. Sense would be banging on the iconia. Let me know if anyone is working on this and if i can help.
love peace and chicken grease

The Flyer is running Gingerbread IIRC, not Honeycomb. Most folks here don't want a downgrade, and there would be an issue with device drivers anyway.
The Flyer has very different hardware, including a digitizer overlay on the screen to enable their ePen to work properly. We don't have that so half of the OS wouldn't even work right.
just wanted to ask if there is a HTC flyer ROM that can be installed on a Acer Iconica A 500 have been looking for a while and can't seem to find any info about it
PLEASE help me
I wish! Let me know if you find one! I love htc!
Unlikely. The Flyer is a 7" device and the whole UI is designed for that size, so it's not going to look good on a 10" one. Plus, it has special hardware (the pen digitizer) that the A500 is lacking so its most useful feature would have to be stripped.
what about any htc sense port to the a500?
The puccini is 10 inches. I know it would be hard but I would donate to it!!
Any projects currently working towards this?
Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has thought about porting CM7 to the A500? I run CM7 on my Thunderbolt and love it...and while I know that it is Gingerbread, I would still be interested in checking it out on a tablet. I have read that CM7 has tablet tweaks and stuff.
Unfortunately, I am no dev...however if there are any devs out there who are bored and looking for something to do this might be fun
Thanks!
yup, I bought my iconia last week, and ran a search on the whole iconia forum for "cyanogenmod" and got 0 hits. When I asked about that I got some responses about how CM7 ran on 2.3, so our honeycomb ROMs on 3.x were already more advanced, like they didn't know about google forking Android for the honeycomb line. While I'm enjoying my iconia with OC taboony, as far as I can tell all of the hc changes have more to do with being flashy than functional. I expect we'll see more tablet love from CM devs with icecream sandwich, but I wouldn't turn my nose up at an unofficial port in the meantime.
i'm wondering what would be the best choice of CM9 from other devices to get the port from?
SGSII? NOTE?
please advice.
Seems note has the near the same hardware spec with 7.7, but s2 has the official 4.03 from samsung

I started from the s2 source (see the thread in the dev-section), unfortunately I have gotten really busy with work so I won't really be able to put much time into it right now. If you are interested in working on it, go look at the repos I posted in that thread. I've most recently been trying to get the touch to work properly, however, the driver for it in the 7.7 source code is a complete mess, and more complicated than other drivers that have been fixed for ics.
I have GT-P6800, does same repository apply to it?
All but the android_device_samsung_p6810 should, and that last one should be easy to convert. If you are interested in working on it, I would suggest forking the common ones so that we can share our work easily.
I'm interested in working on a P6800 too.
