By the way i've installed/uninstalled so many times and reinstalled "NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.9 (GRJ90 / Android 2.3.5) [tytung_r10]" and searched the form & none of it helped so that's why i decided to sent this post ...
Someone ...Anyone ?????
Hi,
I had the same problem as you and I solved removing all widgets from desktop and changing the animated wallpaper to a regular one. I belive the problem is related with the amont of free memory in this kidn of instalation.

INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Make a nandroid backup before downloading this!
If something goes wrong (even though it has been tested numerous times) its always good to have a backup! I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device as a result of this!
1. Download the .zip from goo-inside.me linked below
2. Reboot into ClockworkMod
3. Install zip from SD Card -> Browse for zip you just downloaded
4. Wipe Dalvik cache (in advanced menu)
4. Reboot
5. Heres the decision point: you can either end here, or you can continue on to install the V6 ICS Supercharger script. The process is a little bit involved, so if you don't want to continue, you don't have to. I reccomend you do continue though, as the Supercharger script makes a very big difference in terms of speed! For those of you who choose not to continue, thanks for installing the SUPREME Modpack! Enjoy your Touchpad! For those that want the ICS Supercharger too, continue below!
=======================================================
6. Download the latest Supercharger script from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276 to your /Download folder (the file is called "V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh.txt") (Note: the name might change if a new release of the script comes out)
7. Continuing to install the supercharger script... open up a file manager and rename the file to get rid of the .txt extension (so that it becomes a .sh extension)
8. Open up the app called Terminal Emulator on your Touchpad. If its not already installed (it should have come with CM9) then just install it from the market.
7. In the Terminal, type the following.
Code:
su
Then accept the Superuser request that opens up.
8. Then type:
Code:
sh /Download/V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh
(Note: the name might change if a new release of the script comes out)
9. The screen will display some text as the script loads up. Be patient and wait.
10. After loading, it will come to a thing where it detects what launcher you are running. Press the enter key to confirm your launcher.
11. The script will do some more stuff and then ask for what type of scrolling you want. Type in "1" without quotes to confirm you want fast scrolling to make the install process quicker and then press enter.
12. It will do some more stuff and then ask about integration. Type "y" without quotes confirming you want integration and then press enter.
13. It will do some more stuff and then ask about animations. Type "y" without quotes confirming you want to disable the animation and then press enter.
14. It will do some more stuff and then ask about what type of Supercharger you want. Type "9" without quotes confirming you want the highest and most aggressive tweaks (they work the best for the Touchpad) and then press enter.
15. The script will finish up and then ask if you want to super clean your system. Type "y" without quotes and then press enter. Your system will reboot.
16. Go to this link: http://android.mimic.ca/
17. Upload your services.jar file from the /system/framework/ directory
18. Patch the file using the online patcher
19. Download the CWM file it gives you (the .zip). Don't worry about what it says about being for Nexus S.
20. Reboot to recovery and flash the CWM file it just gave you.
Congrats, you have the SUPREME Modpack and the ICS Supercharger scripts installed! Reboot normally and enjoy!
To update, just follow the same instructions as the install directions! You will also need to install every time you install a new ROM.

this sounds amazing but i am just wondering if i could edit this so it doesnt touch the dpi at all? i use 132 right now and dont want to mess with it, other then that this sounds amazing
First time posting in the touchpad forums...
I applied this mod and attempted to install 9mm but still got a "not compatible with this device" error. Unless I'm in error of some sorts I believe this game still has issues running on our devices. I at least had to give this a shot to maybe see if it would help with me getting this game installed.
Nonetheless excellent work and thank you for your contribution!

I added the build.prop text in the OP near the bottom, in a pastebin link. Copy the text from there, paste it into your build.prop, and then find the line for the density and edit that back to 132 before saving.

I don't own the game so I was not able to test it, sorry! I know this change has worked for Modern Combat 3, Asphalt, and a couple other games. I will look into making 9mm work, since this might be a problem across multiple games!
Testing now, will let you know how it goes over the next few days

Sorry for the n00b question, but how do you apply this ? By just installing the Alpha 2 or is there a standalone zip ?

Install the zip file from the link in the first post in clockwork recovery mode after you have installed Alpha 2.
I'm on Classicnerd Butta 0.1.1-v3.2 and will definitely flash this at work to test it out.

Im really looking forward to a smoother scrolling experience. I love my tp immensely but I've always found the very subtle studder of scrolling to be a little displeasing when it comes to scrolling in between home screens. Does this "smooth scrolling" enhancement effect web browsing scrolling?
I am definitely going to give this a shot bud, brb with thoughts and opinions. Thanks again for your work in this community.

Lmao.
Plug in your device. Then Go to: settings, then click on storage on the left. then on the top right you will see 3 vertical dots, click it for more options. "USB computer connections" will be available. Select it. Then check mark the "media device (MDP)" field.
If you're using windows, ignore the driver installer error prompt. Your TP should still be visible when you go to my computer.
Push Thanks if I helped. i hope I did. >.> lol
thanks it's working now.

This really works! I was stuck using 160dpi on Alpha2 because 120 or 132dpi both were not smooth, they had a small skip or judder when transitioning screens. Bugged the heck out of me so I set it to 160dpi where it is smooooth.
I flash this build.prop this morning and 132 is now just as smooth! Not sure what else it fixed but it didn't break anything which is always a good thing. Me happy
Thanks Rohan!
Nice one
Changed the build.prop in notepad to 160dpi then saved over the top and just flashed, now I'm playing BackStab HD! Thank you very much!
Thanks for doing this but I have a question. In your OP, you listed:
disables error checking (may have side effects)
Does this affect the SD card error checking (fsck_msdos) that the TP does on boot, which shows up as Preparing SD card on notifications?
Btw, just a suggestion that it might be a good idea to put a line in your OP and recommend doing a nandroid backup or at least backing up of the original build prop file before flashing this. Thanks again.

Hi guys, sorry, just got back from school. I've answered some of your questions below.
Also, just wanted to say that tonight I will be adding a whole boatload of improvements via the init.d file. I worked on it at school today for a little bit at lunch and it should bring a whole host of speed improvements and smoother aspects to CM.
@Mr.Quipster Yes, this also affects the web pages. It increases the screen's refresh rate when scrolling, thus allowing a "smoother" experience.
@ruthienu I've changed it so that StageFright, the media streaming tool in Android 2.2+ scans meta tags, as well as HTTP filesystems for media. It doesn't hurt to have these lines in there if you aren't using media streaming. It also doesn't interfere with anything else. If you want to delete it, flash the zip and delete lines 101-104 [the ones starting with media.stagefright(...)]
@webdroidmt Nope, this disables something called CheckJNI. It basically scans the system every now and then for things such as invalid variables and arrays, bad buffers, and some UTF-8 errrors. None of the errors it catches are system-threatening and disabling it frees up a substantial amount of RAM. If you do not want this to be enabled as a feature then simply flash the zip, then edit your build.prop and delete the line "ro.kernel.android.checkjni=0". And thanks for the suggestion, added a warning

So, I can answer questions only here and also publish updates of my rom.

after installing the GB and setting it up, i rebooted, but still not wrking.
2. window support is also not wrking. hv added some of the apps to wkr in window mode, but all run in full screen.
Have you tried these on ur rom ???

Yes,
Multi-window not working, but some features of Gravitybox well.
Actually I've put Multi-window by mistake, it was a bit late when I saw
However you may remove this app by following steps below.
1- Deactivate Multi-window app in Xposed modules menu (uncheck)
2- Reboot
3- Open RootBrowser and go to System/app directory
4- Long press on multi_window.apk and select Delete
I didn't tested all of modules and most of them are not working properly because of Tablet UI, I'll remove both application in next firmware mod.
Sorry for inconvenience, thanks for understanding.
Hi Equancy,
I am having issues with wifi direct. I can establish the wifi direct connection with the other device (Samsung Galaxy S3) just fine, I can send files from the box to the SG3, but I absolutely can't receive files sent from the SG3 to the box (I never even get the prompt).
I also tried to use the Superbeam app, and same story: I can send files out but not receive them.
Any clue? I am not sure whether this is specific to your ROM as I haven't tried with any other.
Cheers, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.

hi,
Thanks for your best wishes, hoping same for you.
For the issue,
Possible answer for WiFi Direct function is Firmware related, because I didn't touched any system file except su binary and build.prop.
I also tested by my self, receiving files from TVBox is working but transfering to the device isn't via SuperBeam.
As I said before, I suppose it is a firmware bug and must be reported.
And question is:
To who
However, you may ask other users who is using another firmware versions or custom roms.

NFS help needed
I tried the rom on my cr11s and i must say its awesome except that its a bit slow.. i also can't get nfs to mount thru adb nor cifsmanager.. does the supplied nfs.ko support nfsv4? Everything else is working with no major issues.. thanks for the rom anyways...

It is very little bit slower than v1.1 but its not really noticable on 2D applications, can you specify what have you experienced actually?
I'm using a NTFS formatted NAS drive with no problem, even watching MKV files about 40-50 mbps rate. (NetGear ReadyNAS).
All of thoose modules have been supplied but not loaded by default need manually installed or you must add lines to the init.rc from system.
This can't be automatically because Kernel needs to be modified and I don't want to do that.
NFS module is actual module for RK3188.
If you more specify problem may be I can look it for you.
And for your consideration...
Some issues are FIRMWARE RELATED, because these firmwares aren't fully optimized, just generic RK3xxx roms.
Not good drivers at all...
And not all manyfacturers optimizes their own firmwares.
Produce and forget policy.

I also tried to get screen mirroring to work with the wifidisplay app included in the ROM (is this also part of the original image or did you add it?).
Again, I can set up the mirroring connection between a Samsung Note 3 and the wifidisplay app, but then actual mirroring never happens. I suspect that whatever causes wifi direct not to work also causes the mirroring not to work... pity as this is would be a nice feature...
@EQUANCY,
I have a strange issue related to sound settings, its because of the stock firmware issue, hope you give some pointers on this
in the sound devices settings, there is input sound device and o/p sound device. I understand abt the output sound device, but what is the use of input sound device ? and is by default always set. Is there a way to disable the i/p device ?.
I ask this bcasue, my sound bar sony will cutoff the sound to other devices if the cs968 device is switched-off, if in on/standby mode, the sound passthorough (via cs968 )for other devices i hv connected to my soundbar. My guess is that since sound input device is checked(Radio button on), sound bar thinks that it has to pass through cs968. If i unplug the hmdi cable from cs968, the soundbar wrks fine.
My guess is that somewhere in the settings xml file, there shd be a way of disabling the sound input device.
I tried decompiling settings.apk and settingsprovider.apk searched all file with sound as filecontent key, but could not find anything related to disabling of sound input device.
can you help me on this ???

Disabling sound input?
As much as I know, the only sound input is internal microphone.
I real don't know the other sound inputs and als no clue about disabling it.
If you mean sound output such as Analog, Optical and HDMI then may be there is option but for input, I have no idea.
Sorry.

How can I unistall app like bsplayer?
Thanks
Hi,
Open RootBrowser (usually opens in main directory) if not then got to Main Directory first then next to
\System\App
And long press the application which you want to remove and select Delete.
Or download a root uninstaller from market then uninstall what you want.
Hope this helps.
Hi all !
As I couldn't find many information and hacks about the Asus ME572c (K007), I thought I might start by sharing my experience with the device.
For those who are having a hard time to find resources, here are the changes that I could carry out without messing all up :
Rooting the device :
It was fast and easy using the "ROOT ZenFone" app I found on an alternative market (could be on the play store, I didn't checked...) rooted and installed SuperSU in a few minutes, then I pushed in my usual root apps (firewall, explorer, busybox, uninstaller, patcher, ...) and started the bloat-shoot party.
Apps removal :
Once rooted, any (good) root removal app will do, pick your favorite and be careful to what you do : I frightened myself a few times doing those things and I still don't have any backup/recovery procedure besides a factory reset...
You may want to check dependencies before you delete an app and maybe check what's the app for : you may loose functionality you wanted to keep but that I didn't care about...
As I don't use google services I got rid of every google apps except google search (mainly for voice recognition) and maps : so keep in mind that if you want to keep google apps on your pad your may not go as far as I did.
I managed to keep a fully working device and to remove so far :
- all google apps (play store, framework, services,... ) except search & maps
- calendar, contact, phone/mobile applications and providers
- all apps containing "asus" in their name except : ASUS_Air_Status (seems to be needed for GPS) and com.asus.lockscreen (I never touch lockscreen apps : I had a bad experince :crying, but as it don't seem to be active at any moment, as it's a few kilobyte and even if I don't use any lockscreen : I won't take the risk. By the way, don't remove/freeze "keyguard" as well (will mess with locking/navbar or something else important for the OS...)
- CMclient/DMclient
- intel/widi named apps (screen casting ? not sure), cwsservicemanager, windows/multitasking (dual apps mode)
I'ts nor a detailed or a complete list but just clues to what you may try...
Most of the apps were first frozen, then deleted when no issues were found following few basic tests, but some apps can still run even when freezed (asus apps do that a lot), so pick a good process viewer to see through that. The result is a device which is quick from "power on" to "available", and has few running process letting plenty of resources available (around 600 Mb of memory used at start-up)
Usual tuning :
Whatever the device we have (HTC, Nexus, ...) we all have the usual set of performance enhancing modification we like to apply, here're mines:
- stop logging (logcat & dmesg)
- kernel/ioscheduler/mem/dalvik tuning (many apps to do that)
- disable error check/reporting (along with many other common build.prop modifications you'll find all over the web)
- good task killer / greenify / services, wakelock & autostart editor : no more resources hogging with no reason from the few apps left on the device...
CCL: I got mine since mid-December and I'm pretty happy with the tuning I've done so far : I obtained more and more perfs till it scores over 41 000 at Antutu ( just like my good ole Nexus 5 :silly: ). I don't have a reference mark with stock apps installed, I'll be interested if someone can submit some scores; I'll submit some screenshots with detailed marks in the next posts.
Besides all the removal I've been doing, everything seems to work fine on the hardware side (GPS, bluetooth, sound, ...), I got rid of some software features like dual apps, social networking, or Asus dsp manager (which woks quite well on this device, I may get it back...) bit I'm very happy with the current config.
I think I'll stop my pump-it-up frenzy there before it explodes, and wait for Asus to release Lollipop or if any ROM (I'd love a PAC-Rom) becomes available for this device.
Hi Gentaz, come on over to our ME572 thread and let's get this killer "7 tablet the support it deserves!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2915779
I've also rooted and removed bloatware. Also disabled the navbar via build.prop because it takes up space in some off the apps I use.
I'm pretty new to android tuning, curious what tweaks you've performed. Care to elaborate?
I'm wondering if the mods want to move the thread I linked above to this subforum for more exposure?

Hi TujungaGuy,
Thanks, I read that thread you linked while waiting for the Memo to be delivered and it pointed me to this "ZenFone" app : the pad was rooted less than one after I got it, I didn't even care to test Asus apps
I'm not sure to find time to detail (and remember) the modifications I made for a specific environment and usage I have for this pad (telescope control and unix/linux networking). To me it's more like a computer than a "social/communicating/whatever most people see in this device" tablet. I'm currently writing a "quickref" in my wiki : I may publish this later on XDA if it's not too messy and incomplete.
Being myself a sysadmin, I have solid unix/Linux grouds but don't know much about the "android" part of the OS too, and I have to say, not really interested into learning it...
I was merely throwing ideas I had and that worked for me, but I'm willing to help : so I may start by answering questions if any or give directions in particular aera anyone would like to have look at.

The most performance improving task, but the most dangerous and longest to figure out at the same time is a proper app management, eg which app can I move, freeze or delete without having the device not responding or loosing hardware abilities ( GPS, bluetooth, ...).
I can't submit a proper list of "safe to delete apps" but I made screenshots showing the apps I kept and the one I moved from /system to /data.
Starting from the 11.8.3.30 firmware published by Asus (I made the ota update), here is the list of curently installed apps on my ME572C, one may deduce by comparison the (long) list of apks that were deleted.
Frozen apps (I kept just in case...):
System apps :
User apps (without the one I installed), most of them were moved from system to userspace :
Some apps have their french name (sorry), but I didn't find a good app management tool showing the file names : I'll take any suggestion (a resubmit lists with proper names).
Hope this helps !

ME572c recovery
Today I did it : I changed a setting I shouldn't and my Memo became unusable (boot loop ?); even factory reset didn't do the trick...
So now I can make a How-to for recovery and rooting ;o)
Recovery (stock firmware) :
==> You'll need a MicroSD card on wich you have to put a file with you PC (or another device)
Prepare SD :
- Get update file from Asus (mine was UL-K007-WW-11.8.3.30-user.zip for 8.3.30 version and WW device)
- Copy file to FAT formatted MicroSD and rename it "MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip"
Go to droidboot mode :
- turn the K007 on with "Power" and "Volume UP" keys and keep'em pressed
- release "Power" when the screen turns on
- then release "Vol UP" a few second later when the Asus logo disappears
Flash :
- insert MicroSD into K007 slot
- Select "SD Download" using "Vol DOWN" key then confirm with "Power"
==> It will flash the device with the original Asus firmware and reboot to display the first launch wizard...
Not sent from my K007...
ME572c Root
Now For the rooting part.
==> You'll need a computer with adb or a MicroSD on which you can put files with another device
Download resources :
- download the RootZenFone app from "asuswebstorage" : https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/s/1DC355CA300041BDAC1FBE7C9F749501Y
Install kit :
- using ADB (adb push RootZenFone-1.4.6.8r.apk /sdcard/) or using the MicroSD
- allow installation from unknown sources in android security setting
- install the app (use file browser to find apk file)
Root the device :
- Remove known wifi networks and disable wifi
- launch rooting application and proceed
- it did launch a "demo mode" but don't panic : press OK then quit this demo app then wait 10s then reboot
==> It will go into flash mode (small droid being serviced with a progress bar), then go for a normal start
Check :
- go in application list to find if SuperSU app is available
Thanks for the rooting info. You can just download the APK directly into the tablet's download folder as well. No need for a SD card or ADB. Just an FYI.

did the same....
I did the same today... tried the upload to SD card, I assume you are unzipping the file prior to putting it in? I tried both renaming and not renaming the file. I tried both zipped and unzipped on the disk. I am having no luck. Please help... I have added screen shots, both showing the same error I continue to receive.

If you read the how to it says copy and rename : so no unzip involved here...
Other checks you may peform :
- download : checksum your downloads (if no checksum given download twice and compare md5)
- version localization : there are WW, TW and a third version for the device and so are the firmwares released by Asus ==> did you use the good one for your device ?
- the error message you posted says error is on the footer (end) of the file : how did you copy it ? (I suggest using adb push) or maybe your sd is going bad or dosn'thave enough free space (there should be nothing else on it, it already worked with media files on it me) : try another one or an empty one you formated with your device (blank it using dd command).

didnt work....
Thanks for your help. Im sure I am doing something wrong. From what I am able to tell (unable to start tablet to verify) I should also be installing the WW version. I actually, out of desperation, tried each version with no success. I did format the SD card after each version, also with no success. I would love to try adb but I am a bit of a noob to this and get lost with all the steps on the walk throughs I do find. Do you by chance have a step by step for the morons of us out there (everything from what programs, to what steps, and system requirements.....with screenshots if possible :fingers-crossed?
Thanks again for the help.

Hi mlakia,
There's not much more to say : all details and screenshots that I could pick are in the how-to.
Besides I'm not using windows for the 'not on tablet' part thus screenshots would be useless...
All I can provide is :
- download Asus rom http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/ME572C/UL-K007-WW-11.8.3.30-user.zip as MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip (respect the case) on a empty fat formatted SD :
wget http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/EeePAD/ME572C/UL-K007-WW-11.8.3.30-user.zip
mv UL-K007-WW-11.8.3.30-user.zip MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip
md5sum MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip
289f23ac72bc6d78c9a8814774e83287 MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip
- then with adb :
adb push MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip /storage/MicroSD/
- or some other way to do it using you pc any other device that can write on the sd if you Memo is stuck (check the md5sum of the copied file !)
- launch recovery then flash from SD...
==> unless your download or SD is corrupt, maybe there's a real issue : you may try to call Asus helpdesk or open another thread in Q&A for more help on recovery.

Hi !
Here's a refined, close to minimum, system apps list that are required for the OS and hardware to work properly. Sound apps (maxaudio & icesoundserver) can be removed but at the expense of a poor sound quality.
Keep in mind it's only the system required apps : although i deleted most of the preinstalled apps, I moved many of them as user apps (/data/app/ ) as I guessed they're not system related or don't need to be up all the time : unlike system apps you can greenify user apps.
You may see an non-standard app : rotation manager. I installed it as a system app as I wanted it to be always up, thus I can use the memo in permanent landscape mode preventing an oom kill.
But you have to have an IME (keyboard), the audiowizard app and maybe others to be able to use the pad (you may look very stupid without an IME...) !
As usual : I'm not responsible if your pad becomes a brick or gains world domination as a consequence of your tinkering...

This can happen for a variety of reasons-- most likely because the thread or post you are trying to view has been moved or deleted. Please return to the forum home and browse for another similiar post."
Could you double check the attachments, please? Thanks again!

If I understand correctly, AudioWizard is a required app. Is that correct? I've been working on my own list of apps that are safe to remove (similar to what's linked in my signature - you can preview the one for the ME572C I've been working on here), and ran into an issue: I tried deleting the Sound Recorder app and Titanium Backup locked up. I left it for roughly ten minutes trying to install it before forcing a shutdown. After that I got stuck in a boot loop and had to flash the latest firmware. But I'm not sure if it's a coincidence and the removal of another app is what caused the boot loop, and not the failed removal of Sound Recorder.
By the way, your list is very helpful and I'll be sure to update my own later based on it!

Root typically locks out OTA updates. On the ASUS firmware page for the tablet I see a new Version JP_V11.8.3.31 but I don't see that version for TW or WW yet. Also, just to guess, JP is Japan, TW is Taiwan, and WW is worldwide... is that correct?

Uhm.... but why? I already posted 3 methods on how to do this.
I patched CoC myself, but while it removes the sign-in, it still doesn't let you sync with your current iOS/Android town. So what was the point of patching it? Just so it doesn't say you can't sign in when you click the button?

There's two way to login on CoC, Google or Facebook. We have removed the google option and just using facebook. I'm trying to "How to syncs between device?" On another device also connected to same facebook account.
When I'm wrong. Just correct me or make it work together.
I'm also working to try make implementation Google Service on Lumia.
Logging onto Facebook tells me the FB acct is already linked to a CoC acct and asks if I want to link it to this town instead. But at any rate, the Google Sign In error doesn't inhibit the ability to play at all, unless I'm missing something.
Anyone get snapchat to work yet?
Hello,
I tested your apk file as I was having issue with mine (get using apk extractor on my android device).
I have the same : missing textures on trees, buildings, etc...see screenshot attached
Also connecting Facebook account is not getting saved games : it's just here for finding friends... see attached image, it's just asking you if you wants to link this game to your account.
If I find a way to get back saved games, I will post here
About texture missing, any idea?

Can anyone here tell me where to place the obb files of games..... + an advice to others who cant use this COC not working. Just restore the PhoneManufactureModelName and other things back to default
Restart your phone and reinstall the game...... This sometimes solves the keyboard not showing up problem which I faced while entering my name for first time in COC
Those who having (error -217.......) just re download the file this error showed up when I tried to install facebook but re downloading solved the problem
I have the Lumia 640 with the latest build (10512 I think?) And I am trying to get the dev enhancements for this to work for my phone, your list says my phone is not supported, but according to other lists on XDA in this forum, my phone should be if I install the DE update (Which for some reason I cannot get?) Please let me know a way I can get this to work, thanks!
Sandix you need to go back to Win 8.1, then with registry editor change your product ID to Lumia 930, then upgrade to windows 10 a Astoria will be working for you.

Damn that is a lot of work. hahaa
Does the Developer enhancement update include the Android stuff? and would it be possible to get the DE update by doing a similar method in the registry and then checking for updates?
