Yeah, I don't think anyone can look into this as the Feds had the site closed due to many privacy charges and money laundering. The owner was arrested along with others in new Zealand I believe. I do hope it comes back as I had some back up files on there too.

This is why the government should quit while it hasn't spent much money on attempts to take down these types of sites. They just don't understand how the internet works.

Dude, lol.Yes megaupload and related file hosting sites, were hit by the internet police(FBI),for broken copyright laws, such as storing movies, music and other copyrighted material, hence SOPA & PIPA.
Wow, to busy doing something else didn't even know. Thanks!

RE: Meltdown
So, how does this work?!!
Most of the dev threads I've been to, for my P509, used multiupload.
FORTUNATELY, I've made a collection since first discovery; but what of updates?... or future roms?
What comes next for method(s) of dispersal? Not only for ROMs, but for Recoveries?
I suppose writing to the recovery and/or rom author, in request via email could work.
Any other ideas?

This may seem a bit asinine; would it be unnecessary to ask for permission to redistribute their roms?
The plan is to put them out intact, and as I found them; each with corresponding links that lead to the original authors page here on xda or otherwise.
Guess it would depend on the author...

I didn't even look at the OP ... figured this was about the whole FB messaging deal. Apparently we both didn't, as either link(s) would have cleared it up. As for this hype for the 'date,' which isn't so crazy, I wouldnt br surprised if it was just that. Hype.

Edit response to the below post:
I'm sorry that you feel that I give a crap what you're "concerned with" or your "feelings" on any topic whatsoever.
I've asked you to put me on ignore about 50 times now.
You don't know me so you can stop making assumptions about me.
Anyone that has taken any time to talk to me would know that my only reason for bringing that thread up was to warn people because I'm that type of guy.
I couldn't give a crap about the "thanks", I just feel people have a right to know.
Now, I'll ask again, please put me on ignore. Here's the link for ya to make it easy:

Sorry. Edited before you quoted. But still, has nothing to do with you fear mongering. This, in no way, clears your hype from the other day. Has nothing to do with as much. As far ad I'm concerned....you're still trolling for hype.
I only ask; don't use this as ammunition for your fear mongering / hype express that started in your last thread. This, Anonymous ish, has nothing to do with your past / present post nor your immediate response to his.
EDIT; yeah, a stand is being made (maybe) but it sure as **** isn't over the previous changing of app permissions. Where are the articles about the radical changing of permissions? Hmm, they must not have updated 'da appz' yet. Christ. This has nothing to do with your hype game from the other day, but FB as a whole.

You're so suggestive and motivational. This has nothing to do with your talk. Nothing. This is not something you can use to justify your last hype thread.

This. Plus the fact it won't do anything against piracy and will serve as a platform for our government to censor anything they don't want released. 194.71.107.15 will work just as well after SOPA as http://thepiratebay.org/ works today. I understand that we need to protect the intellectual property of who it belongs to, but certainly at the expense of the free speech of the citizens, the safety and security of the DNS system, and fair use. If you post a video with Michael Jackson in the background you can get 5 years in prison. That's a year more than the doctor responsible for his death.
"So, that are you in for?"
"Oh, I killed and dismembered a homeless guy, what about you?
"I uploaded a video of my friend dancing to Tik Tok at a party."
This legislation needs to be stopped. Gizmodo has a nice chart of who received money from the entertainment industry, guess who, the SOPA/PIPA supporters. /rant
Besides this is not needed since Homeland Security apparently already HAS the power to block sites from appearing in the U.S. A lot of sites that I used to watcc the NFL on last year now appear with a big SHUTDOWN by HOMELAND SECURITY banner when I clicked them.

What do they hope to accomplish taking down the likes of facebook, youtube, twitter, xbox? other than causing an inconvenience for those users. the DOJ doesn't care whether Timmy can play Battlefield 3

I suspect that video cited on youtube is a fraud.
that video doesnt sound rite.
good news: its not mu isnt dead it just hiding....
I've been on XDA a long time. Met some tremendous people here and have learned an incredible amount. A lot of us joined together and did something special (#NeverAgain).
In my time, a lot of things seem to have gone sour with XDA (not the people that use it).
The only downside here is that XDA is a force. Everyone uses it. Because of that, everyone gets treated the way XDA wants to treat you, not necessarily how they SHOULD be treated.
THE ONLY WAY FOR THERE TO BE CHANGE, IS ACTION.

EDIT. Could not find a way to delete my account. Someone can take care of that after this gets reported I assume.

I applaud your move. Yet as you probably know, you cannot boycott or even teach adults into morals and values. If they value fame, money, or prestige over behaving correctly, then nothing can change that now.
They will not understand what you are even talking about. They will only feel threatened and will either lash out or silence you.
Your message does have a chance to get others. What remains to be seen is whether or not then leaders of this forum will be cowardly and silence you by taking down this thread or will they leave it up for a chance at meaningful and productive dialogue so you can get your message out?
sorry to hear you're leaving too. xda is mess.
we've seen a bunch of devs leave here and and then eventually shutting down. guess they just lose the interest in time. but it was fun. thanks for keeping us informed on the root thread when all else failed.
I just welcomed you back. I appreciated your thread when I first came over to this forum. Hopefully they will keep it up. Maybe I'll start downloading everything I don't already have in case they do and I'll maintain it, if that is ok with you. Feel free to PM me with anything before you leave.
Peace and Chicken Grease
What exactly is the issue here I don't understand...

Not going to air it all out, but it's my personal opinion xda could be doing a heck of a lot more for the community it depends on.
Other sites seem to get it. That's where I hope people go.
Farewell old friend.

See you over on Rootz shame XDA has driven you away
I completely agree. This site makes a lot of money from its users. Its great when a site gives back.

I hear you bro -- but from an outsiders perspective, it sounds like you are taking something too seriously. I for a v brief time felt the way you did even, then I realized .. allowing a website to keep me from downloading files is short changing truly only me. Have no choice ~
#firstworldproblems
Seriously.. have you considered a tweet / pm / etc maybe that will get more of a message across. Nothing personal, just my .02
Happy crack flashing!

Wait a minute. You don't have to get ugly, but can you give some context? What is the issue?
