[Q] [UltraFruit] Can't Open Certain Apps after 8107 Update - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

Hi,
I just switched from Android to WP7 due to the random reboots I was having, so I'm sorta a noob. I have a few questions to ask:
1. Some people claim to achieve better battery life by switching their radio hardware (?) and software versions. Since I am on T-Mobile USA, I don't quite know exactly which radio provides the best results. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
2. After updating to build 8107, I can't access some key apps on my HD2 anymore. For example, touching the phone app transitions me into a black screen, then back into the home screen. Reboots do not help. Did I flash a wrong build?
3. I've had one random reboot since my installation, and others say that this can be remedied by flashing an older touchscreen driver. Does anyone know what the pros/cons are of switching to this driver?
4. The volume in some apps (such as maps) is very low. I struggle to hear navigation even with the volume at 30. Is there any way to boost the volume?
5. (random question) Does anyone know how to instruct the maps navigation program to avoid toll roads?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks

2. change radio file part00.bin in data.zip with radio 5.51
3. try other ROM, for example Pdaimatejam Rom v6.5 (is already have radio 5.51) and very stable (no new camera driver in 6.5 but v7 with that coming soon and test version 7 work much better than UltraFruit)
5. which navigation you use?
P.S.
look in your PM box

Qtek Newest official ROM bug? Icons white out, app won't run, after 10 hrs running.

Hardware: Dopod 818Pro
ROM: Qtek S200, 2.20.7.34 World Wide English, Date:7/10/06, Radio: 02.47.21, ExtROM:2.20.7.114
Software Installed: E-Sword 3.01 (Bible Software), Mapking 2007, Select-Radio, MobiPocket
How's the problem happened:
After Hard Reset, simply install above software, and start the 10 hrs test by launching E-Sword, Mapking and Select Radio, keep the radio playing, by sharing Internet connection through USB to PC.
10 hrs later, or around, you will possibly find either,
a. some icons "white out", not able to run by clicking on them, if you do click, they will give you a program is not certificated, or something like that being mentioned at other threads.
b. Today Screen lost some lines.
c. System may hang later.
IMHO,
1. It looks rather like the GDI resource running out in win98 system.
2. The originally seemed random error now can be repeated by above procedure, time related, always around 10 hrs.
3. Not to specific software, any above software can cause the same problem, just choose SelectRadio as example, since it also test the network connection.
Anybody experience the same problem and any suggestion? It's not a big one, however, annoying when you need to keep running something.
It would be very grateful if somebody can offer me a suggestion on the cause or how to debug it.

Bro, with all my grateful heart, i would like to ask you for one favor. Could you pls be more specific on your PDA phone hardware (Dopod, or Qtek) and how long after your phone on did that happen? A clean installation?
I had pinned down the problem to my Home Screen Plugin from HTC, due to possible memory leak or heap corruption.
Now i upgrade to Korand's WM6 ROM without problem.
May still want to know the cause of problem to avoid it in the future.
Anyway, i will still download your suggested ROM for dissection...to see the difference. Thanks.

[Q] Serious Touchscreen Lag Issue

First of all, sorry if this thread is out of place, but I'm not sure where else to turn.
My HD2 worked terrifically with FroyoStone 3.2, Hastarin 7.6 up until last Wednesday (5 days) ago. Then I started to experience, and have not been able to fix, serious TS lag issues.
Symptoms: I hit the unlock button, swipe to unlock, and the touchscreen will be responsive if I KEEP using it...if I pause for up to 3 seconds, the screen is no longer responsive. I have to relock the phone, unlock, and then swipe again to get it to work.
The touchscreen works perfectly fine in Windows Mobile 6.5. (Energy 2361X)
Attempts to fix: I've formatted the SD Card inbetween trying all of the following items-
1) Switch to MDJ ROM with MDJ kernel
2) Switch to Bluetopia ROM (0.5, 0.6 & 0.6.1) with Hastarin 8.0 OR 8.1
3) Switch back to FroyoStone 3.2 with kernel that comes with it
4) Update Radio ROM
5) Update to new Energy WinMo ROM -- after running Task 29 first.
Today, I purchased a new SD Card, loaded it with a clean install of Android, still have issues.
Also tried:
1) Turning off all LED notifications
2) Disabling Auto brightness in WinMo and Android
3) Disabled Screen Auto-Rotate
Honestly, I'm all out of ideas, and I hope someone in the community has a way to help out. I find it so odd that the touchscreen works great right after a "wake-up" as long as I keep it constantly stimulated...then fails to respond if I let it sit for more than three seconds. Is this a polling issue?
All ideas are appreciated. Thank you
This probably belongs in the Q&A forum, not development.
Moved.
For future Googlers and the sort who are researching this issue, the thread has been placed here:

Thanks.

[Q] Elegencia V2 questions

Hi,
I've searched this site trying to find a solution to my problem but have had no luck so thought I'd post to see if anyone can point me in the right direction. A couple of months back i installed the
Elegencia CHT2 v2.0 WWE ROM. (rom date 31/12/2010)
I installed radio: 2.14.50.04 as this seemed to be fairly well received.
browser Opera 9
The ROM runs fine on my HD2, but since day 1 the 3g connection has been painfully slow and now the novelty of a new ROM has worn off I really need to address the issue. Pages take forever to load and has become very frustrating
It's about a third (at best) of the speed of the standard connection I was receiving on Stock ROM. Also, When I make a call it takes about 5 seconds from pressing an Icon or the "TALK" button until the call starts. I'm not sure whether the problem lies with the ROM or is more likely a radio issue, any ideas? I didn't want to start changing radio's unnecesarily and I quite like the elegancia ROM so would like to try and correct the problem if possible rather than mess around blindly changing anything I can think of.
I appreciate any advice
Cheers

heating issues.

Hello. Am on pdateam wp7 7740 rom. I have realized that anytime I access the internet or do anything concerning internet connection the bottom part of my hd2 becomes very warm everytime. It sometimes makes it unable for charging. I want to know whether anyone is also experiencing this problem. And also how I can solve it. Thanks very much....
i to have had this problem. i did NOT have it with ANY rom prior to mango releases. i asked over a week ago if this problem had been addressed and/or fixed in recent releases and have not had any reply. after reading this i suppose the answer is no. as i said, i didn't have this problem with any pre-mango roms.
after i installed yuki & xbmod's 7720 zune updatable anytime i would stream say netflix or youtube for more than 10 minutes i would get the dreaded orange/green flashing led (read up real fast and found out it is an OVERHEAT notification)
one thing that i found is a slightly damp or very cold cloth on the back in the VERY hot area for just a few minutes will cool your leo down enough to start to charge again (leave the cold cloth on as long as you plan on charging after you get the overheat notification). i just love my baby to much to run the risk of burning it up so i went to android.
i REALLY miss WP7 but unless this is corrected or someone can tell me for sure i'll stick with android.
(if anyone knows if this has been resolved or knows a better workaround i'd really appreciate it as i detest the whole lengthy process of going between android to WP7)
cheers

whoops, didnt mean to thank you, ah well, have one on me
anyhow, the only time i get that heat issue is if i go crazy with wifi, day to day its fine, but if i start transfering 100s of MB of data it gets toasty!
Some one shld please help solve this problem.
have you tried messing about with different radios?
the reason some networks use different versions is because the settings suite some areas better than others.
Start with hardware radios as thats easy to change, then move to software radio starting with oldest, mango roms did have a newer software radiuo built in so that might be answer for you
I haven't had this issue since the first wave of roms released pre mango in January. Ever since mango this problem has been cleared up. I'm on BTTF rom 7740. Back on pre mango roms it would get so hot I could barely hold it. But now on Yuki & Xboxmods rom it NEVER heats up. Just my experience.

ok thanks.and by the way, what's a software and hardware radio?..and can u please give me a list of compatible mango radios...
well, hardware radio is what you used to flash when dealing with WM6.5, you can find all the radios in the HD2 wiki or 6.5 development forum, that is easy to flash as all you have to do is stick it in tricolour bootloader, and flash via your pc using the customRUU, typically these are named
2.12.50.02
2.14.50.04
2.15.50.14
there are a lot more than that, different areas will like different radios, trial and error is usually the only way to go, for example, you may lose the heat issue but lose signal as well, or perhaps your battery life will improve or drop like a rock
The software radio is something windows phone brought to us, as far as i can tell the only way to change that is via flashing WP7 again, you essentially swap out the part00.bin from the install folder and replace it with a different radio version
a quick search on the windows phone 7 HD2 stickys should find what your are looking for
but these radios are typically called
5.52.09.16
5.51T.09.29a
5.65.09.11a
again, there are a lot more than those ive lists, i think there are about 11 in total.

[Q] The Problems of Pdaimatejam Rom Wp7.5 mango 7.10.8107.79 v7.1

First of all, Paimatejam's rom is very very excellent. .
but, I want to resolve some problems in this rom, and I want to hear your experience.
I have three problems in this rom.
One, when I plug my earphone in my HD2, Something like noise appears, especially during tying.
Two, Tango is not working. ㅠ..
Three, Key LED was fixed in this rom, so it is working well, but when I click the Key to see lock screen, it is not working.
For me, First problem is more important then the others.

Seems to be something on your personal settings.
I used version 7.1 and now version 7.2 (only mac address issue changed here)
None of the problems you seem to have I recognize.
Of course Tango works without the frontfacing cam...-smile-
I would suggest to do a clean install.
1.) Task29 (provided by Doloop) to complete clean your phonememory
2.) Install Magldr113
3.) Install latest Pdaimatejam rom v. 7.2 (best battery with 2.15/5.51 radio)
4.) call (or better chat) with microsoft to obtain a code to activate
5.) enter your live ID
then all the others to load in marketplace o.r sideload.
Then charge and possibly you have 11/2 day of battery with normal use.
Good luck!
v7.3 latest with new multitouch driver and work perfectly
