is there anyway that we can turn it off? because i can see that there are times that it is struggling and the result is the backlight is flickering. don't you think it's bad in the long term?

Is this a possibility? They drive me nuts at night because they are constantly on.... a way to adjust their time out time would be incredible. Sadly, I don't think suck a thing exists.

Well, stop me if I'm wrong, but doesn't "LEDs Hack" do this? It's a free app on the market. I don't know as I haven't needed to try with this.
If you're on CM, you can adjust their brightness level based on ambient light under back light settings (separate from keyboard light and screen)

Actully brightness increases\ decreases till the relative point of pressing.
What i mean is if you press and hold at middle of status bar brightness increses till 50 % and if you press and hold at the top right corner , it goes to 100 %.

So everything to dowith adjusting off... if I restart the phone it willbe bright but then after a while it dims slightly and keeps doing it now and again, how do I keep it at full brightness? Or can I not? The phones at 30% battery and on the warm side if that matters....
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda premium
You can, all you have to do is to disable auto brightness.

If you turned off auto-brightness and screen tone should not dim itself.
I mean when drops to very low % like 5% screen brightness will not be available anymore.
Also make sure you are not using the phone with Power Saving ON! Maybe that's why your screen dim itself.
No none of that is on, it just keeps dimming its self very slightly but noticeably, is this a fault and should I have it replaced?

First maybe you should give it a try with a newer firmware, and after if still does that..you should go and try to replace it

I think it might be because "Adapt Display" is enabled (Settings -> Display -> Screen mode -> Adapt Display).
Try to disable it and see if it still happens.
Yeah that was disabled, its on the newest firmware available :/ done a factory reset and it's seemed to stop.. going to givecit till tomorrow to see if it does it again

In case it happens again, I've also noticed another option that can change the brightness : Settings -> My Device -> Display -> Auto adjust screen tone.
Anyway, glad it's working out for you now, hopefully it'll last
Nope did it again :/ that's off, phoned up my provider and they said its a fault doggerel sending me a replacement tomorrow

Hey guys I recently bought the Lux Auto Brightness app which dims your display according to your environment. I would like to dim my hardware keys because when I'm in a pitch black room the keys are still bright......Any ideas would be awesome. Thanks

Up to my knowledge you can only shorten the duration of the back lit keys or turn them off completely. Settings>Display>Touch key light duration. I have my keys to not lit up at all and i like it.
i dont see that option in display

Yes it has. It is particularly visible when you turn on the phone using knock on. I haven't found a way to manage it though. Lightflow can't control it.
