I have a SGT 10.1 (3G) model, which was bought through Mobicity in Australia. Now i KNOW they source their stock from overseas, but i just spotted yesterday that the HC 3.2 update was available for download?
Now am i getting that pushed because i'm in Australia? Or is it being pushed to the device because it was bought in a specific country thats getting it? (e.g The UK have been receiving it)?
Am just curious, so i can get an idea of when future PUSH updates might be coming to mine.
Updates are being pushed according to origin of the ROM that is on your device.
If you put a given UK carrier rom, you will get this UK carrier updates, and so on.
Well all i've done is root it, not put any custom ROM's on yet....
So how can i tell the origin of the stock ROM on it?
Well if you bought it from a regular carrier and not something like Ebay, you most likely have an Australian version! (no idea what Mobicity is but every carrier have its own ROMs)
What is your current ROM version anyway?
As long as you are on stock ROM, any update will have to go through your carrier for approval and such. So look on their site / ask them for info.

Mobicity is an importer who deals in phones, tablets and accessories. I got my tab through them before Apple sued Samsung to stop selling them locally (nd then I loaded leaked roms)
If you got it from MobiCity like my self I believe you got an Asian ROM
They source the tablet from Hong Kong
So most likely you didn't get an Australian specific ROM

I agree that you won't have an Australian rom on the tablet but just because you get it from Mobicity means that it's from Asia. They seem to source the products from Europe, Asia and USA (depending on avaiability). My Galaxy S 2 came from Europe somewhere, my Galaxy Tab 10.1 came from America I believe and a HTC Desire S I bought for someone came from Asia.
Got my tab from Vodafone. Its going to be 6 months before it'll get 3.2. why not flash? im sure I'll get ics way before if you're willing to wait.

Yeah i figured Mobicity would be buying from Asia. So can i tell which ROM i'm on from the Build Number? Mine says (with 3.2 installed) HTJ85B P7500XWKL1

I just got my Tab tonight, so forgive me if I'm not posting this right as I've just downloaded the update and its installing, so I can't see my exact screens. All I did was go to the settings menu and check for updates. I had to sign up for a Samsung account first, but then it went right through. It said it was updating to 3.2. And just an observation, but it looks like it may take a bit of time. Mine has been updating for over 5 minutes now and its only at 39%.
Edit: I'm on a Wifi only Tab BTW...

Hey guys,
I bought my Galaxy Tab 10.1v from Vodafone in Germany a few weeks ago. I'm really satisfied, however I was wondering when Samsung will be releasing the 3.1 Update?
P.S. Anybody know some good widgets that work with honeycomb?

Mine says now that it last checked on the 19th (It's the 22nd today)
That's 3 days but I have noticed it may even be longer checking for updates.

reboot the tablet and then it checks...
What is not clear is whether the tablet has to connected a particukar network. In this case it is Proximus. But I refused to pay these ridiculous monthly charges.
I am on Wifi only, will that make a difference. I have no simcard installed.
Where do I need to ask for support (update)? There is no indication of vodaphone or proximus on my tablet or on the box.
The tablet is bought in Belgium.

Thanks for your posts. I've escalated your query internally to see if I am able to locate any more information regarding updates for the 10.1v.
You are correct on the accesories. With the range of devices we sell, we're simply not able to consider stocking accessories for all of them. Electronics retailers may have some available, or you could contact Samsung directly regarding any supplier that has purchased 10.1v accessories from them.
I'll get back to you as soon as I can locate information regarding updates for your tablet.

There is no Vodafone name on the back of your tablet?
Still no government in Belgium but at least you have one of the newer firmwares.

The 10.1v sold in Belgium as a Samsung 10.1v, Vodafone is no where on the back. It has a newer version of FW I think (but still 3.01), by default you can choise Dutch or any other language.
On tweakers.net someone posted tweets from Vodafone NL to Samfirmware that 3.1 is comming but no date.

I have a general question about the update to 3.1 and i am sure one of you guys can give me a awnser quickly
I am from switzerland, and i was in UK some weeks ago and buy there a xoom wifi only version.
My question is simple : The update to 3.1 is this actually only on rollout on US or the already start to dispatch them globaly, or is there a issue that i buy my device in uk but i am now located in switzerland ?

i rooted mine and there's still no update available and im in Egypt but bought miner from the uae
AFAIK, where you live shouldn't matter - the device model you have is what matters.
For example, I re-flashed my Canadian Xoom with the US firmware, and within minutes of booting under the US firmware I was offered the 3.1 update, despite the fact I was living in Canada.
So whenever they release the update for the UK Xoom, you will also receive it. At this time, only the US one is receiving updates, and there are no ETA s to when the rest of the world will.
Getting my Tab 10.1 today (direct from Samsung UK)...any questions or requests for videos etc just let me know.

It will be interesting to see what version stock ROM comes shipped on the UK model.
A lot of people want to know when it and the accessories will be available here and showing on the Samsung site.
I guess it's Honeycomb 3.1 with touchwiz.
My tab 10.1 3G tab has 3.1.
I even got it before launch in scandinavia, but I'm not sure which country my firmware is from. It's badly translated into norwegian, contains a mix with english and dutch I think.
can you please dump to rom for some of the devs.
Also could you check to see if it come with an unlocked bootloader?
already have accessories available on Play.com i've ordered my HDMI adapter already and Samsung Dock, although I bought the Dock on Amazon UK.

I would also like to know.
For those of you who, like myself, have the polish PLUS model of the note and have been frustrated at the lack of updates compared to all the other regions.
Just found a new update OTA, its 105mb.

yeah, some of the first batch of notes sold online were the polish plus carrier locked model. i bought mine online here in australia and it ended up being the polish model, we've been slow to get updates. our last update was KKA.
just completed the update.
we are now on.

ahh yeah, I think I got lucky, my wife bought mine for me in November and I got the Debtel German model... so while I too am in Australia I've been getting pretty regular updates...
besides i get polish Orange carrier (non branded) Note and its still on kka officially ;p thanks god for odin
It's also sad what happened here a few weeks ago. Samsung spent a lot of money to promote the Galaxy Note, renaming the main subway station with "Sol Galaxy Note" and putting there people all day showing it. The problem is that they had only 3 units and all running KKA firmware. I pointed out that to the people there and they did not seem to even have an idea of what a ROM is.
If they want to show the device, load it with the best firmware available and up to date programs, not just the demo video.
Hey guys, to anyone who might be in Switzerland.
I've had the Note 10.1 N8010 since it got released here in Switzerland and since then there was just 1 Samsung fix update and so far, since last July or August there has been No updates at all for my device, not even the Exfat fix update which pretty much left me with no sd card support..
I'm just wondering for owners of this device in Switzerland, did you guys get any updates?

I don't think i got any update, i can't remember.

heh im glad im not the only one.. i mean, even on sammobile it shows that there hasnt been any updates for Switzerland since July 2012, but i still thought there was a problem with my device :silly: guess there isnt..
Just checked sammobile again and even Greece and China has the damn update heheh
Kinda weird that all the surrounding EU countries have it but Switzerland in the center of them all still has nothing..

I've bought the 8010 in december and it already included the exfat fix (I could insert the 64GB sandisk and everything worked fine).
Anyway, I did what I always do: I switched to a custom rom.
Switzerland was never very promising with software update speed, sadly
Yea.. To be honest it sucks..
I don't want to put anything custom, want to leave the stock rom..
I might just have to update to the UK or German versions.. Im just not too happy about the CSC number change.. Im not sure if I can still get future updates or not..
Kinda weird only the three of us have replied in this thread.. Makes me wonder how many they've sold here heheh
