Does anyone know if we should be able to mirror while watching flash video in full screen? Has anyone successfully done it?
Thanks!
If by mirror you mean plug your xoom into a hmdi port on a tv, then yes you can. I was streaming an bbc iPlayer video stream using flash whilst connected to ky tv. I did this using the eos stingray rom. The hdmi support is awesome in ics. Significant audio improvement over and above honeycomb.

Over the summer it was only capable of 720p.

Thanks for the information.
Are you able to do this in full screen mode. When I press the player's button to expand the video yo full screen, I can no longer view the output. I can see the browser tabs at the top, the status bar at the bottom, but the video/audio foes dead. It's just a black screen where the video should be.
flash?
I have ics, and flash is a fail. I can watch in the small player, but click that full screen button.... freeze. Crackle don't work, only YouTube app will play full screen hdmi. On their site, HDMI sound no picture on either TV or tablet, but while playing unplug hdmi while in fullscreen then plug back in it works! Is there a solution as I have uninstalled and reinstalled flash several times? Would have figured they would have released a fix as its been over a month. Also I have to use stock browser as opera says I don't have flash

i have exactly the same problem on the JG nightlies.. any solution for this? videos are running fine but when i stream the flash videos full screen my application freezes.
On my Jellybean EOS HDMI mode mirrored the xoom screen, but I think it was only 720.

I noticed that i have to pull the hmdi cable, let the flash stream going full screen, then plug the hdmi cable again..
nevermind, works for me now
I have to plug in the HDMI cable into the TV, turn on my screen, plug it into my xoom, and it will show up on the TV immediately. Everything on my xoom is mirrored fine, but I have to keep my screen on or the TV loses the signal.

havent tested yet if it work with JB
Tested with JB on my xoom and worked great! Useful when watching a movie so the screen doesn't over heat or kill extra battery. Thanks for the link! For anyone else, it does need root to work.

Need a little more info, are you rooted, running a custom rom, what program are you trying to get too play on your tv? I love how people come on and post crap like this and expect a decent answer.

Not every device you plug the HDMI cord into is compatible with the HDMI stack on the Evo. For example: My LG TV accepts the HDMI out just fine, but my RCA TV causes my phone to instantly reboot.
It would REALLY help if you gave more info. What kind of movie? What player? What codec, resolution, bitrate is the movie? What kind of tv? where did you get the cable?

Try this as soon as the video starts playing unplug the HDMI and plug it back in. I have to do this all the time. You might have to do it more than once.
So I went and bought the hdmi cable for my Xoom, and when I was playing back a mp4 video file the device and my tv kept flickering periodically off and then come back on with interupted sound as well> like it would freeze hiccup a couple times and resume playback and then 2 mins later it did it again. Anyone else experience this or know of a remedey? When I played back avi files it was smooth. I was using rockplayer lite. When Im not using hdmi playback is very smooth on the device itself
I guess everyone else's is working ok?
Try vital player

Some people are having problems when hooking up their HDMI connection to their tv so I thought I would share my findings.
Problems: Youtube keeps blinking, Moboplayer lags and blinks, ETC.
I had the same problem also. I originally thought it was the HDMI cable so I bought another one and tested it, same problem. So i decided to play around with it some more and may have found something.
Here is a temporary solution which I have found to make it work flawlessly:
1. Go to the market and download aDownloader. (It's a torrent program, don't worry, you won't be downloading anything)
2. Turn on the program and download a torrent, any torrent is fine and have that torrent run for a few seconds. Once that is done, pause the torrent. There should be a popup notification, please ignore that.
3. Hook up the HDMI and turn everything on, everything should be working 100%. You will not see the notification from aDownloader popup on your tv.
There will not be anying flickering or blinking or any lag with this method. I will be using this until a fix comes up hopefully with the next update.
Let me know if this works!
im not getting a popup from it. But, I like the program.
hm maybe because I'm using launcherpro? Not sure hope it works tho.
forgot to mention, did not work.
What on gods green earth does a torrent program have to do with HDMI out??

it's most likely the notification keeping the screen from flickering.
This would give duct tape a run for its money ....

Ok guys, i figured out why it's not working for you guys. I changed #2.
There was an extra step I noticed that was needed to make this work. All you have to do is download any torrent, either its a picture, music, video or anime file, have that torrent run for 1-2 seconds, then pause that torrent.
This should be working now.

My guess? The torrent app holds a wake lock while it's running and prevents the device from going to sleep.
yeah, didnt help at all. In fact the notification showed up on my TV. Flickering.
It could be the ratio of the tv, mines is on scan however it should be 16:9.
Has anyone figured this out I called ASUS and they had no known issues regarding this

I don't know if this is the right place for this but I have done a series of troubleshooting:
I ripped a few movies using DVD Catalyst (great program btw) to both my SAmsung 500GB usb hdd and the 16gb Class 6 Patriot micro sd card (same movie).
Played the video with HDMI (from the SD carc) on my TV using mobo and it was flickery and choppy and unviewable overall. Used the "movie" program and it viewed fine, although at a lower resolution (4:3) and quality, but viewable.
Tried the same thing with the USB HDD and worked perfect with mobo.
I have a stock TF with the latest updates as well as a new dock with the latest updates too.
I'm satisifed with the ability to use the usb hdd, but I'm just curious as to any thoughts on why the SD card didn't work... I also speed checked the sd card using H2testw_1.4 for the complete card (not just a short check) and it came back good, no problems or issues.
Thoughts?
Is there any ghetto way we can wirelessly mirror the transformer screen through an Xbox?
It would be nice to sit all the way back on the couch and be able to control playback of movies without a 30ft HDMI cable running all over the place.
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
I don't believe it would be possible. Do you just want to play media stored on the Transformer and have it play on the XBox? You could try using the MyNet app and stream the media to the XBox.
I've tried that but can almost never get it to work. I would like to mirror the screen, that would be awesome. I guess its too much to ask though
Sent from my Inspire 4G using XDA App
All I can think of is to get a wireless HDMI transmitter and connect this to the HDMI port of the Transformer.
Or you could go the other way and plug the Transformer directly into the TV and then user a bluetooth keyboard/remote to control the Transformer if you don't care about touch screen.
Has Anyone got this working?
My KFHD recognised the HDMI port is being used and diverts the sound but i get no picture or sound from my TV. Any ideas?
Thanks

Cheers for the replies guys. i'll try some other cables and see if that was causing the problem!
One further thing to check is your TV settings. On my TV for example you had to enable the port in the TV settings before you could even switch to it. Also depending on what the port was defined as it may or may not pass audio. Worth digging around in your TV menus.
Snow/Noise
I have a rooted KFHD. Get frequent snowing effect on the TV when using the HDMI cable. I believe it is the cable, but have read everywhere that HDMI doesn't get noise/snow. So could it be the device or the port?
Snow doubtful.... but snow in general is doubtful
Is this hooked direct into your tv or is there a box between.

Bassbase,
Yes, we use it weekly in the office on a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" and a Kindle Fire HD 7", it works flawlessly on a 72" TV which we use for presentations with sound and at home I use a HDMI Converter on an old TV at home, it too works flawlessly with Netfix and Hulu. What apps are you using? Have you tried Hulu or Netflix? I can say Root is not needed to make the HDMI Port function properly nor does Root affect the HDMI Port. If you give me the App name we will test it in the office.
