MMS problem on Vodafone UK - please help!

Hi guys,
I consider myself a pretty good with these devices but this one's got me...even the good ol' search facility aint giving me what I need.
Basically I got an unlocked Orange SPV M3100 with a Voda UK contract SIM.
I setup all the connection details and MMS server as i've found on web but also the HTC utility which sets it all up for you. I get the internet ok but no MMS!
'Error synchorizing' or similar is what I get - it doesnt even try to fire up the data connection - immediate response and i've triple-checked the settings for the MMS server. Anyone point me in a better direction?

My bet would be the MMS port is wrong, it should be 9201. Has the same problem after using a vodafone settings cab, everything else worked, just no MMS.
Double check your settings against the 2nd post in the thread below, i have used this setup many times and these settings are all 100% right.

thanks so much for your reply. Still not working but I suspect it's something to do with the new WM6 (LWVS) rom i've got..it doesn't seem to be happy with it.
I've never had a problem before with any other version...weird.

Try Black, ive had no problems on vodafone and im flashing 3.01 as i type. I also find radio 1.40.30.00 works very well on vodafone, get it from the wiki if you havnt already

Just tried Black 3.01 as well and same problem...i must be doing something stupid..i've found several sets of instructions (all the same) and used the HTC utility which installs the settings for you (you select your country and operator) and I still get the same issue.
The thing I find really weird is that the MMS application doesn't seem to even attempt to initiate a data connection - just errors straight away.
I've not flashed back to LWVS Rom as it's my preferred flavour but i've got to be doing something wrong or missing something.
My radio ROM is 1.41.00.10 - not related to that is it? I'm about to try the version our mate has suggested above but if anyone has any other ideas...please do let me know.

It works - now that i've had a test sent to me! But if i manually press send/recieve it errors so probably was working all along! stupid error messages.

im having this same problem on tmobile usa. any pointers guys. ever since the first version on wm6 i haven't been able to send or recieve a mms

SPV M700 and 3 Network

Hello All,
I have just come across this site...looks very informative.
I am looking at getting a used M700 which I would like to upgrade the firmware to the WM6. I obviously want the most stable firmware where I don't have to keep resetting the phone everyday.
I am interested in using the following:
Voice calls
SMS
WiFi
GPS with TomTom 6
Internet via 3 network where WiFi is not available
I assume once I update the firmware the phone would be unlocked so I can use the 3 SIM so which firmware is the most stable.

There are a lot of ROMs for the Trinity. Each ROM cooker invests a lot of time creating something that he / she may get nothing in return for. By saying that one is a lot better than the others is in many ways disrespectful to the other ROM cookers.
I suggest that you take a day off work and read, read, read, read this site - each ROM thread - to see what comments individuals leave regarding each ROM.
I have tried many excellent ROMs listed on this site - and each has its plus and minus points. Different versions of different ROMs can be extremely different, too - so check out version details.
If you want WWE (WorlWideEnglish) You won't go far wrong with any of: (Sorry if I've forgotten you - make sure your ROM is on the Available ROM Versions page)
adewidt (ADW), AX3L, Black and Blue, bepe, FInixNOver, MARY, PDAVIET, Schap's or udK.
Personally, I've stuck with ADW 1.1 for a while - even come back to it - and will try out 1.2 shortly.
I would strongly suggest using a WM6 or WM6.1 ROM as opposed to a WM5 ROM. Good luck - and why not try the different ROMs out...

I put one on last year just after getting my m700, Lsvw I think it was. Not touched it scince. needs a reset once ina awhile, but like Broadband Providers and Mobile Carriers..... you pays your money and takes your choice (of course no money needed for the ROM's :0 )

Obviously it is great that someone can invest time and effort and provide a product for no financial reward.
Will probably try out a few ROMs first before choosing one, once I get the M700 that is.

The ROM comes with Opera Mini 4 built in and it all works a treat on the 3 network in the UK including Tomtom 6 with traffic updates.

How is the internet speed via 3.5g?

The speed seems good. I can't give you any figures though. Seem to get HSDPA in most populated areas. I was in Cornwall last week and got good speeds.

Hey Jackass, I have got the M700 flashed to the ROM you are using and I am well impressed.
Just wanted to know if you can help with the planet 3 settings which I am having some issues with. I can only really see my3 and everything else is blocked.
Are there some settings I can change to get planet 3 working?
Also do you have a slight delay in the phone ringing, I see a delay of about 1-1.5 seconds...no huge problem but just wanted to know if you have the same issue and if you have found a solution?

HD2 Connection Setup Cab Help (O2 Hd2)

Afternoon to you all. Its my first post here so please be gentle.
I used to be on Esato and Im frequently on o2 forum so If i can help in any way i will always try to.
However I do need some help if possible and possible a cab to resolve the issue.
I have got a O2 HD2 rom 1.43.
Its unlocked from o2 and Ive no major issues with the rom at all (all recent updates installed from htc)
However o2 has kindly modified the Connection Setup cab in the settings menu.
When you click on it, you get uk and iom and thats it.
If you pick UK you get o2 only
If you pick IOM, again you get IOM network settings.
Is it possible that some one can extract the propper HTC Setup Cab which i think is 3.1? which has all countries and networks.
At present ive managed to use a version from the HTC Diamond, but this is ver 1.5 and for some reason is very very slow, but does have most of the networks, but not all.
I would be really greatful if some one could help and post it for me.
I know i could use put generic rom on, but im not sure why, but i like my o2 logo (Sad i know )

Update.
When i installed version 1.5 from the diamond my MMS stops working completely. When I have removed it too, It goes back to the orginal 3.1 but again no MMS any more

There is a network connection cab somewhere round here, as i used it for my o2 hd2 to get t-mobile UK settings.
Though i had to search the interent to get the MMS server settings, as it doesn't change that.

i cant find any cab for hd2. i can for diamond. ive got my mms working by removing version 1.5 but was hoping that someone had extracted the hd2 version from the hd2 rom. i tried 2 different versions of 1.5 and it can take on average 20 secs to even geg into the connection settings.

Just saw your post after searching a lot on the internet. I also seem to have a same problem. I have a HTC-HD2 from t-mobile which is unlocked, howevere I'm unabke to change the connection settings as it does not give me an option other than "t-mobile.
Any help in rectifying the above problem will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

hello, yes Im new here, well, i have been around a while lurking, however, I have not posted as you guys always seem to have an answer via the search button!
But.............. I have just installed gingerbread on the wifes HD2 after her moaning about windows 6.5, cant blame her to be honest!!!
I am so impressed with it I have bought a HD2 as well. I own a HTC Desire, which is good, but I like the size of the HD2. However, the HD2 I have bought is locked to Orange, if I run the install procedure for hyperdroid gbx v12 Iam I right in thinking I wount need to go out and get an orange simcard to do this?
Not a big deal I know guys, just looking for advice?

welcome! we were all lurkers at some time...
android/new roms/wp7 on your hd2 have nothing to do with the carrier lock; so putting on android does not change that status. if you have to use sim card a before android, you have to use sim card a after android. sorry.
contact your carrier to break free or search for some pay sites.

I am amazed at how many posts I have seen with this problem but I have yet to see any answer except to use HTC Connection Setup. I have been doing this for days with negative results. I have tried many other things besides that like going back to WM 6.5 with 2 different roms finding that the non T-mobile rom gave me data and mms messages but the T-mobile version would not let me do mms messages. I don't know why.
I am using the HTC HD2 Euro version (all white buttons on the front of the phone).
If anyone found the answer would you please post to help the rest of us.

After replacing the mainboard of my HD2, I am facing the same problem although my version is A.12.0.D4.
