Hi,
Touchwizz is great but it's laggy, did anyone try to use the stock apk launcher from the xoom or the asus transformer?
I found an apk but the installation doesn't work
Ps: i'm not root
Im curious about this too although i hate touchwiz... i would love to be able to get a stock build of ICS on the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and do away with touchwiz completely..

ADW EX is really fantastic!
The problem with TouchWiz is that it's much more than just a launcher; it affects the entire system from the way menus look, transition effects, the buttons at the bottom, etc.
If you really want a stock Android experience, we need someone to develop an AOSP ROM of some sort. Here's to hoping that the Cyanogemod team builds us a version of CM9!!!

Yeah lets hope they include the stock loancher with ICS. We are half way there now that Google forced all OEMs to include the stock launcher code even if its not used. Might enable us to use the Cyanogen "Trebuchet" launcher.
For now I guess Ill try Go Launcher and ADW later. Was not very happy with ADW on my SGS2. Lots of bugs.

ADW Launcher EX supports Themes, and in the market there are themes for Holo HC theme you mentioned.

Try syndicate Apps honeycomb and ics, also claystone, but I'm back to golauncher with the sphere transition....wicked

Zeam Launcher is probably the lightest but you loose a lot of functionality. There's also ADW.Launcher, QQLauncher, Launcher 7, and 360 Launcher which marko! suggested though I haven't tried it. I love Go Launcher but that's just me. Try out the other ones and see how you like them.
Been using GO launcher for about a month now, i love it. But there is always Adw....

Wish the lockscreen worked have to plug phone up to get it to come back on, but besides that its real smooth I wouold says smoothest I've seen and go launcher is super smooth but I think 360 takes the cake thanks for enlightenment on this launcher marko

I was a fan of adw ex but honestly this ics launcher is pretty sweet and very smooth so its the 1st time I'm sticking with stock launcher..

ADW is especially bad on Honeycomb. So far nobody has topped the stock launcher's UI.

I agree....but I REALLY like having the color-coded icons...do you guys just have normal colored icons?
Any app thats good for JUST theming icons and in a small/non-laggy way?
Go launcher seems pretty swift. Loving the cylinder page scroll effect!

On honeycomb I always used adw because the stock was crap IMO. Ics has improved the stock launcher so much I stay on stock

This is exactly how I feel. I liked some of the additional options like different swiping styles etc, but they weren't that important.
This stock one is awesome with folder, the new of moving widgets around and how smooth it is that I just kept it.
You know they did a good job when the stock launcher is just as good as the rest

I am using ADW for 3 reasons:
- customizable rows-columns grid (I need it because I use Desktop Visualizer)
- dock
- shortcut in the top-left corner of the screen which I use for Screen off and Lock (very useful because it's not always convenient to use the power botton which is on the back of the tablet)
I have been on Team EOS nightlies until 2 days ago and it was very smooth, but it had some FC.
Now I am trying Team Rogue's CM9 and it seems even more fluid and no FC until now.
However I also tested Go Launcher (terrible), Trebuchet (see above + not enough fluid), Nova (the best one, but not optimized for tablets, I'll test it again later).
So ADW now, but I'm looking forward to Nova's updates

I wanna look into NOVA too. Apparently it modifies the stock launcher or something?

Stock for me. I personally don't see a reason not to. But to others - I respect that YMMV.

For me and my Xoom ist the ADW Launchner the best Launcher. Because the ADW is smoother as the Stock Launcher on the Xoom.

I am. And since the thread title includes ICS, I would assume others are too.
Tried Launcher Pro but its laggy with ICS. Nova works great for me.
Stock ICS launcher for me. ICS launcher = everything wrong with the stock Honeycomb launcher FIXED plus some added goodies thrown in for good measure. I tried ADW on NC but never had the patience to set it up exactly the way I wanted it.
Stock here, but I'm probably going to attempt to put Trebuchet on my ICS Xoom soon.

ADW has worked smoothly for me on TeamEOS ICS roms - sticking with it for now.
Hey all. I'm currently running SparksCo's v1.1 Stable rom (CM 7.2.0) and everything is great except the lag/stutter I experience when swiping between home screens.
After using ADW for months, I said enough is enough and I am currently using Zeam Launcher, but there still is a slight hesitation/stutter after exiting an app. Miui is buttery smooth 100% of the time and even various Sense roms seem to have consistently smoother transitions than anything i've experienced on vanilla/lightly modified CM roms.
So if anybody has any recommendations, i'm all ears (or rather, eyes). Thanks!

Not to mention that it is the only commonly used thrid-party Launcher without spyware. Moreover, since the "devs" for Go launcher and Launcher Pro simply steal all of their code from Anderwebs, if ADW has issues for you, so will these.
Stick with ADWEX and play with the settings until smooth. If you run any Go products, cyou might as well write you credit card number on Tiananmen square, because all your personal info, pictures, etc, will be sent to China.

I'm liking Launcher Pro... it's a little plain but simplicity is underrated. Best of all, no lag once it has built its cache. Shame it is no longer being developed though.

I'm a bit of a privacy/security nut, so I took your advice on Go Launcher after reading the broken English on their market page. I'll give ADW EX a try, but for a paid app it'll have to be perfect.

JK lol, AOSP is great actually running cm7 nightly 255 on the shift right now.
But i'd be hurting both your and myself by not recommending ADW EX. Way better than the free ADW on the market that comes with CyanogenMod 7.

Hey anyone have some nice ones they know of with nice themes? I refuse to use go launcher because it has a cluttered menu. I want simple like stock but fast and smooth and themed like ics or sense 4.0

I was utterly amazed when I found this launcher on here.
I extracted it using Titanium Backup, Flashed MikG 3.11, installed Xperia Home and pushed to system apps.
This works very well in unison with the Car-O-Dope tweak as the launcher is quick and smooth to begin with.
I was looking for launchers like A month ago and someone recommended sslaincher and I have fell in love with it I use to be a go launcher Guy but sslaincher is the most customizable launcher you can pretty much make your home screens anyway you want them in any which way if you can imagine it you can do it

The Holo Launcher is very ICS.
Title says it all. I am currently using Apex, but have wondered about Nova, Trebuchet etc...
Is there much of a difference between them? Also, if you select 'always' when asked which launcher to use (if you have more than one loaded) is there anyway to reverse that to use a different one?
BTW, I am using TWA_privs latest (0223) ROM and its unbelievably good...

I use the stock CM10.1 launcher. Trebuchet, I like the layout and settings for it. And t change launchers, go to setting an find the launcher you currently use user apps. And click clear defualts
For CM7 I prefer ADW EX and for 4.x.x+, I prefer Trebuchet I try to avoid launchers that will show up in the running category under Settings- Apps like Go Launcher and the newest ADW. The less running processes the better IS MY OPINION because the Kindle's limited memory.
I have grown to love Trebuchet because it usually is included as the stock launcher for JB ROMs. The reason I like ADW EX for CM7 is because ADW was included on the CM7 ROMs and one day I wanted to try the EX version of it and it was quite nice with the density hack to make the icons appear bigger.

holo launcher hd
I use holo launcher hd. It looks and acts a lot like apex and trebuchet, but has HD in the name (so its gotta be good!).
Try chameleon launcher..u would not come back to apex or trebuchet pr anything..and spb shell 3d is also a great launcher..very smooth..keep in mind that chameleon launcher is landscape only..

Chameleon Launcher is a good concept, but it never quite caught on. At first they released it for $12 in the play store. I got it and it need a lot of work it was still betas. I got a refund and haven't tried it since. I was reading reviews and it still is not up to par, with little actual customization and limited widgets. Makes it almost seem like ios

I use action launcher pro on my phone and on my kindle running JB. I've bought the full versions of nova and Launcher, but keep going back to action launcher. The shutters feature is awesome
