Disclaimer................I am no longer selling the Transformer due to the below story.
*So karma is a bi?!#. Yesterday while taking my 3 year old to potty at a restaurant my E4GT fell in toilet. I had just taken a picture of my family at the table and put my phone in my front shirt pocket. I don't normally put my phone there because I know what happened can happen but, I forgot. So I'm leaned over pulling my sons pants up when he jumps up and his head catches my pocket and pushes the phone right out and into the toilet. FFFFFFFFFUUUUUU££££$$$$$$!!!!! Yeah so I don't carry insurance on my phone because I have never broken or damaged a cellphone before. Doh! Yeah I immediately pulled the battery and and the restaurant gave me a bag of rice to put it in but, I don't have any high expectations since the phone was on when it went into the toilet. So now I have to sell the TF or do some kind of swap for a phone. So angry at myself, LOL* end rant
So I post my Transformer for sale on Craigslist last night. It's in mint condition and I have the original box and manuals. Also have a Case Crown case for it. I was selling it because my wife is awesome and bought me a Prime. I posted it for $350 or willing to trade for a 7 inch tablet and cash which the amount depended on what kind of 7 incher it was or some other crap like a E4GT or Photon. I said I was not willing to negotiate if it was a straight cash sale.
Anyways I am posting the text conversation between myself and some dude. I am am going to post it word for word except for *Redacted* things like names and or locations.
Him: Do you still have your transformer
Me: Yes I do
Him: Will you take 325
Me: No, sorry 350
Him: Oh well I have someone wanting 325 so Im going to talk to him
Me: Ok, sorry I just cant do 325
(Please keep in mind I have already had 2 other offers at $325 and I have declined them both)
Him: Alright its cool. If it doesnt go through can I contact you?
Me: Sure
Him: Hey man the other didnt come through
Him: Still have your tab?
Me: I do. Not going to be able to do anything tonight unless youre willing to drive to *Redacted* after 9pm. Im stuck at work until then.
Him: I can but can you do 325?
Me: I cannot. Sorry.
Him: Ok
Me: You still want it?
Him: Yeah
Me: I'll be home around 8:45. Dont take this the wrong way but, I have a CHL, so please dont try and rob me, ok? Good. I'll give you the address to my house, if you want to meet there, when I'm on the way home. I'd give it to you now but, my wife and kids are home alone and I don't know you from Adam.
For those that are curious a CHL is a Concealed Handgun License, which I do in fact have. Also I am not stupid enough to give him my actual address and would only have given him the street that backs up to my turn about which is another turn about. I live in a very affluent neighborhood in a very crime free city.
Him: Dude can just meet at a 7-11 or something
Me: Where are you coming from?
Him: Have you ever done Craiglist before?
Him: Coming from *Redacted*
Me: Yeah lots and someone tried to rob me a year ago next month.
This is true. Luckily my CHL came in handy, dude ran, I got his plates and the Police were able to arrest the idiot.
Me: I work in *Redacted* Same place he was coming from we can meet at my job tomorrow morning if youd like.
Him: Is your tab at your house? Because I figured we can just meet somewhere in *Redacted*.
Him: **Redacted*
Me: Yeah it's at home. If you want to do this tonight I can meet you at the *Redacted* Station on *Redacted* and Main in *Redacted*
Him: Well there is actually a *Redacted* Chicken right off of *Redacted* on *Redacted* if you wanna meet inside I'm kinda hungry lol and it's public
Me: Yeah but, then I have to go home, get my tablet, then drive to *Redacted* then drive all the way back home. See where I'm coming from?
Me: It's rooted too by the way. Not a problem right?
Him: Oh yeah! Sorry. Well that *Redacted* Station is fine. Just text me when you get your tab so.I can start heading to *Redacted*
Him: I was going to root it anyways lol
Me: Cool
Him: And don't worry I've been screwed on Craigslist before so I know where your coming from. So we agreed on 325 right?
I'm shaking my head at this point but, since he's tried so hard for 325.....
Me: No, lol. I'll do 340 because youre trying so hard for 325
Him: I wouldnt mind giving you an extra $15 because thats not much more nut $325 is seriously all I have. I have a few more quarters in my car but apart from
Him: the cash that's all I have(had to buy books For school)
I'm kinda gritting my teeth trying not to be PO'd cause he's wasted so much of my time, but I was a starving student once too....oh well
Me: Damn dude. Bring your 325 and quarters....sh**
Me: Good thing I'm a fu**ing sucker for a sob story
Him: Nah nevermind man.
Me: LOL seriously? After I just agreed to 325? Whatever, guy.
Him: Like your doing me such a grand favor by dropping it 25. I'm sure some other guy will buy it. Cheers
REALLY A**HAT!!?? WHAT THE EFF!! Yeah dude I feel like I am kinda doing you a favor by dropping it $25 when my post said I wouldnt negotiate and I already told you twice that I wouldnt sell for 325....But I'm not a jerk.....so
Me: Dude you worked me down 25 bucks when my post said I wouldnt negotiate. Ive passed 2 other offers of 325 down. Your textbook story is what sold me when the others couldnt. Never said I was doing you a favor but, instead of taking the deal and running with it, you get your feelings hurt over a good natured ribbing? The should have shown you I was joking. I don't need to sell this thing so it's not hurting me to keep it. Good luck, I hope you find what you want.
END
Effing people....This conversation started at 3:30pm today and finally ended at 8:05pm.....what a waste but, once I looked back at it I found it pretty amusing.
Anyone else have any funny stories about trying to sell their old gadgets?
Haha, you wouldn't like my dad, then. He is one of those that has to win in a negotiation, even if it's a 50 cents difference. I've seen him walk away from a really good deal simply because the seller refused to go down $10. This was a piano. My dad's a musician and he deals a lot with pianos. Both my brother and I at the time knew the piano was worth a lot more (probably twice to 3 times what the owner wanted). My dad also knew this. The owner didn't know the value and so wanted to sell it for $300. At the time, we could have sold the piano for $1,000 easy. Been dealing with pianos all our lives. Anyway, my dad wanted to bring bring it down to $250. The owner refused. After talking back and forth, my dad finally declared that if the owner was willing to sell it for $290, he'd buy it right away. The owner refused to budge. So, my dad left.
Again, we've been dealing with pianos all our lives. We could have resell that piano as-is for $1000 easy. But because my dad was hard-headed...
Anyway, can I buy your tablet for 349.99? That's all I have, I swear

You're braver than I am. Selling stuff on amazon and ebay is as far as I will go. I stay away from craigslist like the plague. And I have an arsenal of guns in my place.
I try to believe the best in people but I'm prepared for the worst
when you post on CL you have to be prepared for offers even you dont accept them. Same goes for ebay.
That guy probably trolled u.

I have an arsenal of those gun apps that make gun sounds- cheaper, quieter, and much less cleaning.
"The shotgun sounds will make burglars crap their pants as soon as they hear it."
I've sold SEVERAL items on craigslist. What I usually do, I'll buy a new latest and greatest phone for upgrade price. In a year, I'll sell that phone for the price of a new upgrade phone. Therefore, I end up getting the newest latest and greatest phones for free. I can't tell you how many sob stories I get, with people trying to tell me there bad luck, and can I lower the price 50 bucks, 100 bucks etc. I even put that in my ads now. Please, no woe is me stories to get me to lower the price. The worst, is when you are dealing with someone for a few days, back and forth, and you keep saying the price is xxx amount. I won't take anything less. Then they always show up and say, oh, all I have is xxx cash. Will you take it? Then they continue to go on about how someone screwed them over, and they don't have the full amount. I never sell to them, and they end up wasting my time, gas, etc.... Still, quite frustrating, but I NEVER back down.
I can't tell you how many, "my wife has cancer, my brother has parkinsons, or some other disease", they made up. I understand trying to work the angle, but I think just about everyone knows this. Either way, it's frustrating. Stick to your guns man. You will get 350 for it.
I would have told the guy to do one after the first few lines of conversation
This is why I hate CL...

I was selling a car a couple years back and had a guy agree to the price. When we met up he starts telling me how he's a church pastor and was trying to get the car for one of his parish members who's daughter had cancer. Long story short he didn't even bring any money and wanted me to "donate" the car to him. I told him sure but I'd need a donation form and the number and address for his church as well as a copy of his ID and that I needed to talk to my lawyer so he could verify all the information the guy was going to give me. Dude started going on about how I needed to trust in God to tell me if it was ok and there was no reason for me to talk to my lawyer.....whatever, guy. Adios
Cl buyers annoy me. When I was selling my epic touch a dude offered me like half of what I wanted and wanted me to drive to him after I kept saying no to low balling.

Last time I sold something on Craigslist, the idiot came to pick up a $75 car part I was selling, and he wanted to pay me with 6 rolls of quarters and 15 $1 bills....
That was my only, and final, experience with selling locally on Craigslist..

lol I had a similar experience but not as bad. Was selling my old modded ps2 with like 100+ games for like $70. These two kids had like $68 in bills but the rest was change. I only accepted it because they were cool about it and I could tell they were gamers like myself and really wanted it.I had a cool like 20 min convo with them so that kinda helped too. turned out the car they drove was like on E and the money they gave me was all they had. I would have hit the floor if they asked me to spot them some gas money lmao.

I have to agree with that. I remember the days...
Raimi noodles...
Tap water filled over & over into a recycled Evian bottle...
And washing my clothes in the boiler room sink...
But it all paid off; now I get a new PDA phone every 2 years (some free of charge) and a lobster dinner once a month.
Getting into college might be a difficult time for this kid. Just reading his post is painful. I see prep English in his near future. But then again im no English major myself either....
I just finished 3 years of college studying full time, working 20 hours a week in a call center and maintaining a 3.3 GPA.
I have had 4 PDA's during that time and they where all bought we hard earned cash.
Yes I paid for my own tuition, and no my socks do not have holes in them.
It can be done, tuff it out homeboy !
craiglist would be your best bet probably for a good price on a titan and then make some changes and activate it on cricket network or something similar / cause once u have the 6800 plans can be expensive
Here is a free one.

WHAT?!?!?!?!
Well let me start this out by saying that I have been calling and checking in with every T-Mobile in town for weeks.
Yesterday I stop into the t-mob I was going to be going to this morning to make sure they would have enough stock, how many people were showing up ect. I told them I was buying it out of contract they said okay no problem show up at 10am. I'm there.. wait 40-45 minutes just to be told by the manager that they are holding all phones for people extending contracts.. the guy I spoke to gives her that, what are you serious? look. and she stood her ground..
there were 4 units being sold that morning(by people in the store) and they had 2 extra.. I was told they reserved half for contracts yesterday and the other 3 would be up for grabs.
and I was the last person in the store getting one.. so now those 2 are just going to sit there till other people come in.
I've had my account open since.. 98'? or 99' and I've never had such an awful experience with any T-Mobile.
so if you live in Tucson, try to avoid this T-Mobile at all costs.

Sorry to hear that, it's very deplorable when a long-time customer gets treated like crap.
T-mo reps are usually nice people that try to help you and give you as much infos as they can.
The manager was probably just acting like a douche. Personally I would have left and gone to a different store like immediately!
How many tmo store are there in tucson,az?
When I called various stores in my area, with 2 miles, all had inflated prices ($480) and a couple were only selling if new contract or upgrading. There's about 6 stores in the area.
When I checked in the city, Manhattan, the stores did have the right price but they were all sold out.
Even my local store had a sign for $480 w/o contract, but it did ring up as $450. I assume it's to deter people from buying just the phone.

Yeah, that's a common thing among dishonests sellers, and it's something that really pisses me off since those are prices set by the carrier and are not to be altered to vendor's discretion..

luckily there are several, just drove another 15 minutes down the road and picked one up .
It was just waiting for 45 minutes in the morning (I blew off a class to do so) really bothered me.
and having the "woman" (she looked more like an evil little HD2 hoarding troll) lie to my face? completely unacceptable in my book.
man, that sucks.
at mine it was easy as pie.
No inflated prices, nothing.
They even gave me props for switching from a rooted g1.
I went to the Park Place Mall in Tucson and had no issues getting the HD2 today~ It seemed I may have been one of the firsts to get it from there and that was at about 12:30PM today~
Good to hear. I'll try to stop by after work. Maybe out by the time I get there. It was interesting to hear that this happened in Tucson. Just cause it's so small (comparatively)

My Precioussss.....
So, I just sold my baby to my mom because I am leaving for the Navy in January. I'm still using the phone until I leave, but I sold it for a cool 150. I thought it was a fair price. However, I just came across this site called buymytronics and their site says the phone is worth $270! I checked the price on both the HTC HD2 and the 16 GB Iphone 3G, both only fetch about 120 in flawless condition.
I know Nexus's(Nexi?) are sort of a collector's item now that they are discontinued and only around 130,000 sold in the US(Pcworld article is my source). I just thought it as kinda interesting that some random site is willing to pay 270 for a phone when others of similar spec and much more popular are going for less than half of that. I almost want to contact the people that the site and ask WTF is up with that.
Oh, well I guess we can all revile in the fact that we have the the phone with the best resale value on the market However, if you are looking to upgrade, that Nexus S looks pretty sick, now might be the time to sell it to this stupid site.
Btw, I know multiple people who have sold electronics on this site, so it's not some cheetos covered nerd in his basement BSing all of us.
Which version was it..T-Mobile or ATT? You can still get the Tmo version by being a developer I'm pretty sure. Not sure where you can still get a New N1 with ATT bands though. That may increase its value?
I had to hunt down my 3 N1s I recently got and spent around $350 each and thats considered a great price. Mine were in brand new condition, with no scratch or mark anywhere. 1 of them has some dust on the bottom of the screen. Ebay sellers with good feedback get $380+ on mint condition tmo n1s, $400+ for att versions.
I sold mine last week for $500 AUD ($502.25 USD) and was the T-mobile model.
Not bad considering I paid $600 AUD for it 6 months ago. They are holding their dollar value really well in Australia.
i bought mine off someone on CL locally about 3 weeks ago for 300 with the box and all accessories, it was in good condition but had been dropped once and has a few dings from the fall as well as a small scratch on the screen. it was a screaming deal for sure. most people want at least 350 if not more. most t-mobile ones on ebay sell for around 400 and broken ones will sell for anywhere from 100-200+ dollars (i know i bought and resold a broken one hoping to fix it but ended up finding the one i got now for 300)

It doesn't specify which carrier it is. It just pops up the HTC Google Nexus One. I tried searching for a T-Mobile Nexus One no luck same listing.

That's crazy. Mine is in mint condition. I have never dropped it on a hard surface; carpeted only and that was only a couple of times. I guess my mom got a killer deal. I told her she needs to take care of it. If Nexus phones keep value you never know I might make money off of it one day. I will probably buy it back from my mom once I get back from RTC because I will have a ton a money and nothing to do with it.
i just paid $400 on ebay for my att n1, mint condition with CM6.0 and root already loaded up... i considered that a great deal, since i had been seeing plenty of att n1's goin for $450-500.
these are great phones, and that guy got a steal even for a tmob version.

haha this thread is pretty interesting. Idk how much my rooted running CM6 would cost. been dropped a few time and there is one small scratch on the bottom. overall it's great though. especially i take care of the screen even though the multi-touch is crappy as hell but just a small problem. I paid $30 for a piece of sticky plastic made by zigg to cover it. but all the deals you guys been saying would probably be half of my nexus two. only if the nexus two will rock my face like my baby N1 did. otherwise I'm keeping it.
oh yeah thumbs up for the Google Museum

The funny thing is it is a stupid site. They will pay me a whole 47 or something odd dollars for my mint condition Nook. I freaking paid 185 for that new. I paid 550 for my Nexus and they will give me half that. Roughly, they are willing to pay 20 percent more on the dollar for my Nexus than my Nook even though the Nook is in better shape and has less wear. Also, the suckers that out right bought an Iphone, or even signed a two year contract, get only 120 for their phone. I just wish I had more obscure tech than this site is willing to buy for top dollar.
I like the idea of a Google museum. I had a G1, one of my brother's friends has a Cliq, my old boss has a MT3G. Most of those are antiques by now. I say we start tomorrow lol

Hell, I needed the money. I sell all my old tech to my family. I figure I can keep tabs on my family's tech needs better if I already know how to run it all. I'm the only tech savvy one in a family of 12, so there is a lot to do. So, I cut operating costs, opps I meant time lol, by letting them use the stuff I already had fun with. My Zune 32 Gb is going to my dad, and my computer is going to my sister when I leave in January for the Navy. Now they can call me any where in the world and I will understand what the hell they are going through. Although I really wish they didn't. I'll probably running a nuclear reactor or something when my mom calls to whine about how the touch screen is going out of wack on my old phone.
Well does anyone have one that they want to sell cause I would like to buy

never sell! You can't even get the ATT version any more can you?
This is honestly the first phone I've EVER owned that is COMPLETELY scratch-less almost a year after purchase... that's taking absolutely NO special care of it either... I treat this thing like it's a set of car keys and FLAWLESS even today. That's the majority of the incentive for me hanging on to it for so long and not jumping to another phone... prior to this I was changing phones 3-4 times a year all 500+ a pop.

I could probably convince my mom to sell you mine. However, the price just went up 250 dollars. lol!
Wow, I got lucky and sold mine for a cool $560 two days ago. phew
I ordered a Galaxy Note GT-N7000 (i9220) from 1saleaday.com on 03/15/12, and finally received the shipment yesterday (03/28/12). When I opened the shipping container, I discovered an unsealed Galaxy Note box (These were sold as BNIB) that contained all of the accessories, but no Galaxy Note. I have been in constant contact with them the last two days, at which point they tried to persuade me into purchasing today's deal on the Note, at which point they would refund my money and cancel my previous order. Unwilling to do this, because I am already out $584, and was not prepared to throw good money after bad to a company that does not even have a customer service phone number, I was finally informed at the end of their business day today (4:30 PM EDT) that I would NOT be receiving a refund, after all. You see, apparently I am not alone in this, and rather than them take care of the customers who have already tied money up in their shady venture, they now want to do an "investigation" into how widespread this may be. I signed a sworn affidavit attesting to the fact that I did not receive the phone, just the box and accessories, yet they still refuse to refund my money or send me the phone. I do not believe they do this to everyone, but I think they selectively choose random customers here and there when they think they can get away with committing fraud. So, consider this a heads up that doing business with these losers can leave you without the item you paid for or the money you used to pay for it.
I have bought quite a number of items from 1Saleaday and received everything in order including a BNIB HTC View 4G. Just file a dispute or charge back from your Credit Card. Hope you get your money/phone asap.
I have gotten a tentative refund from my credit card company, but this could easily devolve into a "he said, she said" mess, which I want to avoid. What I do not want to avoid is publicly defecating on their business name, which I am in the process of doing across the internet.
I bought a motorola Atrix lapdock from them a couple of week ago. Finally got it 3 and1/2 Weeks later. It was a b#$&h trying to communicate with them. It was only $55 but I was that close to calling my credit card company and filling a claim to get my money back. that's the first and last time I'm buying anything from 1 sale. Might be a good idea to call your credit card up and see what your options are.

well when u think about it its not really their fault some employee probably at the shopping warehouse stole it and ofcourse the want to check into it, if they gave everyone a refund as soon as they got a complaint they would be in major trouble

Exactly. I'm no fan of 1Sale either, but they can't just issue such a large refund immediately. If I were in charge, I'd want to investigate this claim as well.
Their internal investigation is of no consequence to me. They asked me to just sign an affidavit so they could issue the refund, I did so, and the minute I told them I was not interested in buying today's special, they changed their tune. Either state that I am getting it, dependent on some conditions, or tell me they need to look into the matter further.

Since Last year i heard a lot of complains like this
about websites like
1saleaday.com

And you are very true about it.
They choose some random people to screw.
So far i had no problems of any kind. Even with high $$ or cheap stuff.
BUT
Always Pay with PAYPAL.
And like me always take a VIDEO when you open the package.
Tomorrow I am gonna get my GNEX from dailysteals.com

+1 for sure, I always set up my tripod and camera before I open the package, even if I'm super excited to get it. I've gotten a box of CD's and a few rocks instead of an XBOX on Ebay. I'll never make that mistake again.
I had an interesting experience with them as well when I was in the market for a 2nd computer to do some dev work on. Received the computer that I purchased from them and it had a bad power supply. Argued with them and it took 3 weeks after receiving the computer for them to issue me an RA and return shipping label, then another 3 weeks to get my refund.
I ordered 3 htc Evo views from them all came flawless. Also ordered 32gb cards a bunch of other things from then with no issues. Hope everything works out in your favor...

I've dealt with 1saleaday on numerous occasions. They may be slow about sending stuff, but I've always received what I ordered. Willing to be they've got someone nefarious in their warehouse/shipping partner chain. Hope it all works out for you!

Thank God !
Well I got my GNEX today !
And its all good.
but while packing the rest of the stuff back in the box, i thought of
something. I think its not THOSE websites they are screwing people.
But their packaging department people probably trying to get away
with some stuff if they could, while packing.
Any way, I thank God that so far I have bought a lot of stuff from
these websites and never had any problem.

I second this.
This thread should be locked. The merchant is very reputable and who tells us you didnt just tale the device sell it in the blackmarket. Ive never had problems with them and they dont care about stealing a $550 device+they have sold almost 1000galaxy notes nobody has complained

This is MORE of a gripe then anything....I trust many of you have successfully been able to take advantage of this amazing offer:
http://samsungnote3.prizelogic.com/
Well...I just scored myself this awesome device myself a couple of days ago, tried to obtain my free $50 Google Play credit and lo and behold, I got this message when thinking I can start entering my IMEI number, then phone number:
Thank you for your interest in Samsung’s Google Play™ promotion, due to the high level of interest in this promotion we have exhausted our supply of Google Play credits. This offer started 11/5/13 and has now ended under the terms due to exhaustion of supply.
To receive future updates about Samsung promotions and offerings go to www.sharethegalaxy.com
WTF! I am obviously pissed because I thought I had (More than sufficient time) until January 6th!
Anyone think of anything I can do such as a "consolation" prize if I called up Samsung to complain about this?......it goes without saying that this was totally unfair. Total BS!!!
Thanks!
I'm in the same boat as you and just as mad. Promotion rules state that at 30000 gifts it's over. That is absurd since they have sold multiple millions of these

We got screwed in the UK also, I bought my phone on the 30th October - Yet the offer of a free cover only kicked in if you bought your phone after the 15th November... Moral of the story wait til you see what they offer for free, then purchase the phone.
My gosh there has been a lot of butt hurt over this. For crying out loud, either you got it or you didn't.
They didn't promise this upon purchase of the phone- it was just an added freebie, and a limited number at that.
Get over it.

Wow. You don't have to be an d-bag about it.
I think alot of people feel screwed over since many of these promotions were redeemed fraudulently with IMEI number generator.

He's right. You are all acting like little kids not getting the promised candy the day after Halloween, the only difference here is there was no promises made. The rules clearly stated that the contest will be ended when the quantity of vouchers will be exhausted, 30K i think, that over 1.5M$ worht of google play money. Just be grateful Samsung does this, they were the first to offer 50GB of dropbox, the first to offer us a free Jay-Z album, doesnt matter if you like/use those or not, they still are the only ones.
The good thing is those promotions come back and they tend not to let their customers of previous devices down. So appreciate something you get for free and stop acting like spoiled children by claiming you were all SCREWED. Let me screw you, you'll see how that feel and then you'll be able to associate that emotion with the fact that you missed out on a contest where the rules were clearly stated.
P.S. IMEI generators don't exist for the note 3, and only a very small proportion of users did redeem something that wasn't theirs. Most if not all redeems were made legit.
Cool story bro. I feel screwed for reading this. Thought I was gonna click myself into something worthwhile and all I got was another first world whiner.
