Does anyone know if the turbo sim will bypass the sim lock on the htc tattoo?
if you have it try it and tell us, but if you don't i would recommend you to unlock it via imei preferable.
Flashing Won't remove CID lock

I have tried several methods on here to change from my UK Orange branded Tattoo.
I purchased an unlock code, but this was just based on the IMEI from HTC & didn't allow me to use any other sim.
Orange have really butchered the software to stop you using a different network.
I have managed to remove the Orange branding & got back the standard HTC apps.
However the Orange CID (customer ID) still remains & prevents any other sim being used. Even with the HTC software the APN is still greyed out.
Eventually I bought an I-sim2008, a few websites have them but I chose ebay.
With this underneath my sim it bypasses the CID check & allows me to use a different sim card.
Many people have claimed to use the phone with a different sim, but this is the only method I have found to work, I have spent about a week non-stop flashing, I now believe the only way to remove the CID would be on a rooted device with a custom ROM image.

Up to now there is no development on the root or rom side, either not many people have the Tattoo or they dont' think it's worth while doing.....

What network is it on?
Codes for Orange UK have been a problem. The codes are correct but you need to flash the right rom.
The Italian locked Tattoo's don't have any problem with regard to unlocking.

Thanks for the heads up dude. Have you tried to enter the code after flashing the rom?still no good?Well, Ive seen a good place on the web where I can get a I-smartsim 2008 and its much cheaper than buying the code.

So ferraripassion you assure me that if I flash the ROM, the code will work?
Ive been in touch with htccode and their prices are really good (compared to others on the web) but problem is that they do not have a money back policy in case the code doesnt work. From the various reviews Ive read here and there, I dnt think I should invest in something that might not work when I have the I-smartsim.
On the other hand there is unlock-now, their prices are a bit higher but they assure me a money back in case that their code does not work on my mobile. I think Ill give it a shot. I have nothing to lose, if it works Ill be very happy if it doesnt ill have my money back

It worked for me, bought the code in htccode.com, flashed my device and everything ok.
MiSSigNNo when you enter HBOOt, do you have an option <simlock>?

What would the correct ROM be for one on Orange UK?
I have used the RUU Click HTC WWE 1.67.405.6 WWE release signed NoDriver.rar from their website & am still having problems getting any other sim card to work.
As mentioned in my last post, I have been trying for about a week to get it working.
@yash08: I have this option, but when I tried to use it I got an error about files missing of the mem card?
@jusumgeezer: Am no expert, really and I might be completely wrong on this, but from what ive understood is that tattoo's not from orange uk dont have this <simlock> option, and orange uk does. Might this be why we cant use an imei generated code? Must we unlock this some other way?
By the way, I flashed and bought the code and it does not work neither!
Same as me then, got rid of the orange branded rubbish & got all the HTC stuff back, but still need the i-sim2008 to use another sim card. Otherwise it just gets stuck on the "unlocking Sim Card" screen or the APN is greyed out.
Well on my side I am very satisfied with unlock-now.com service. As soon as I supplied a video proving that the code didnt work, I got a refund without any hassle. Was like a knife in butter . They are very professional, I recommend their service to anyone.

Hey guys are there any developments on unlocking Tattoo from Orange UK, it's been more than a week that i got the phone and i still can't use it, it's driving me crazy.
Nobody knows what should flash ROM code to take HTC Tattoo Orange UK?
The only solution is as per the link above, that is how I got my Orange phone to work. It is the only known solution to date even though it is just a workaround and far cheaper than an unlock code.

Says "network unlock success" but after this freezed on "Unlocking SIM card" for around 20 mins and I'm still waiting...

i just want to know if the i-smartsim is the only thing needed to unlock the device or will i have to buy an unlock code as well?

Well the ismartsim is no more needed. If you get the last ROM update from Orange, you will be able to remove the simlock with a imei based code.
And to answer your question, no you dont need to buy a code if you use the ismartsim but as I said you can unblock your phone with the code now.

has anybody had any luck unlocking the T-Mobile UK Version??
so far i have tried 3 unlockers, who are

..have you tried asking them to unlock it?...ok can cost £15 and you have to wait a till youve had it a month but they will unlock it for you...... (t-mobile that is)

Maybe not what you were after zetex but I flashed the 1.48 ROM over my T Mobile HD2 via the goldcard method.
Result unbranded/unlocked HD2 with all the HTC apps reinstated that T Mobile decided to remove i.e you tube, jetcet printer, co pilot trial

i didnt realise by updating the rom using the goldcard method actually unlocked the phone as welll...

Your best option would seem is to upgrade your ROM to unbranded 1.48 via goldcard?
That's what I have done from O2 ROM. I'm sure it would work for T Mobile.
I just changed my sim and it doesnt unlock my phone it is still tied to O2 sorry

i may sound stupid, but are you sure that t-mob uk devices has a netlocked?. i only ask because german t-mob devices arent netlocked at all. the only (stupid) thing t-(in)mobile germany does, was to lock the internet connection. so you can dialin only via them, but that could be fixed by simply using the goldcard method to update to a nice brandingfree rom.

hi,
maybe we are talking about different things. but for me unlocking means removing the sim/netlock. so that after unlocking, i can use any sim from any provider i like, to make phonecalls etc..
what happens if you put a simcard from a different provider to your hd2? can you use your phone to call someone? if so your phone is not sim/netlocked anyhow.

Hi, I was wondering the same a Madbird, as I bought a Tmobile HD2 a couple of weeks ago, and was very pleased when i realised it didnt have a tmobile badge on, and when i tried my Virgin sim it worked fine. Maybe I just struck lucky!
Use www.your-unlock.com It's what I used for mine and it worked no trouble, just put your other sim in and turn it on and it will ask you for an unlock code, enter the one that site e-mails you.

This works for T-Mobile UK
Try unlockdata.co.uk. They generated a code which I was able to enter into my HD2 to allow all networks..

Hey, I got a T-Mobile UK HD2 also. I have also just submitted my code to Your-Unlock.com. Well after seeing your post I would not expect much. Anyway I did a search and found this guy on E-Bay. Thinking of giving him a try. Has some good reviews also. Check it out let me know what you think. This is what the add says "Unlock HTC HD2 Leo T-Mobile O2 3 UK Code = FAST"

I purchased an HD2 from eBay, it was locked to T-mobile. I immediately purchased an unlock code, installing my old iPhone sim (making O2 aware of what I was doing) and punching in the unlock code. All appeared well, however it won't connect to the telephone network. I'm getting the GSM icon and I can strangley check emails when out and about sometimes. But I can't make nor receive calls.
I've taken the T-mobile ROM off and replaced it via HSPL with ...

Which is the standard O2 ROM. It throws up the following error when searching for networks and trying to connect to O2.
"cannot register on selected network, choose another network".
I've tried everything and I'm just about losing it, smashing the phone passed my mind at one point.
I've tried my sim in another O2 HD2 and it worked fine, on all account. His O2 sim didn't work in my phone, which is annoying. So the issue is with the handset.
Before I go insane, I don't suppose someone knows a very easy solution to this issue?

It's sat next to me on the desk with an exclamation mark on the network icon but the mobile web icon is connected.

automatic network selection brings back a failure to connect, however manual selection brings back all UK providers, selecting O2. I get "cannot register".
I wonder if it's something to do with O2 barring the handset? Brand new before I opened it. Also it was locked to T-mobile.
There must be a very simple explanation for this I hope.

I've paid this company ....
[unlockdata dot co dot uk for a code and have used it, however that does appear to be the issue from what I can see.
They sent me a code, when placing my O2 sim in the phone asked for it, I entered it and all appeared well. However it must not be the case deep down in the phone somewhere.....
are you sure it hasnt been blocked by t-mobile? Could well be an insurance scam: data usually works on blocked phones whereas GSM doesn't.
Well I've took my O2 sim card out and stuck my T-mobile one back in and the T-mobile one works and the O2 one doesn't, but I can't make calls.

Looks like it's not stolen or lost, but just barred. I wonder why.
Is there any way I can get this removed?
Its blocked then: blocked and barred are the same thing. More than likely the seller has sold the device then immediately reported it lost/stolen to claim a new one and thus not only have a new phone buy also a nice slice of cash in their back pocket.
There is no way that the phone will be barred without having been reported as either lost or stolen and there is also no way of having it unblocked unless you are the original owner, haven't made an insurance claim, and ring T-mobile with the blocking password provided when the loss was first reported to the police.
Personally I recommend you lodge a claim with PayPal immediately as any other line of enquiry will only serve to delay the inevitable: you will not get the phone unblocked.
Best of luck sorting it out.
Complaint logged with Paypal, just have to wait and see what comes of it. Included the link to the file saying it's barred, let's see what the seller has to say about that.

I can make calls on my T-mobile sim, however it still REFUSES! to connect to O2, even though I've put in the unlock code supplied by the company listed above.

I've had 3 sims from O2 already this week, they've been really cool about it.
I've also had to ROMS on, the original t-mobile one, and the latest HTC ROM too.
I can't for the life of me figure out what the problem is, it's very annoying.
I may just put it up for sale on the bay of E, it works perfectly on T-mobile.
I'll try some other flashes this evening and see if that fixes it, however I don't think it will. FUnny thing is that it won't connect to the network but the large [G] connects, which does make me believe it's something radio based.
Been told to check the following ....

Yes, and it won't connect/register/logon/access the O2 network.
This is the confusing thing, it can see the network but won't register with it
im not sure exactly which ROMS you have tried so i dont know whether they would have included a radio update... to be sure flash the radio ONLY!

Can anyone on O2 UK please list the Radio flash they're using and working with?
I did list the ROM I'm currently using in my first post.
I tried this with the originally installed T-mobile ROM (unknown details, apologies) the latest HTC ROMs (United Kingdom 1.48.405.2 and WWE:1.66.405.2) direct from their UK site and then the O2 listed in my first post.
I'll give everything another go tonight, seriously running out of steam on this topic though

Im on 02 using radio 2.06.50.04 on mr.vandalay's Leo Lite V2.1 WWE Rom (highly recommended) With HSPL and works like a charm only mod ive need to do is the reg tweek to get mms full size.

I've recently bought an HTC Legend from Virgin mobile, unlocked it, and now trying to get it to work on Rogers. After I unlocked it, I tested the phone by placing a call. It worked.
Then I got excited and decided to root it and load a custom ROM. I did not read the comments about the ROM and it turns out, the ROM changed my radio. When I go Network Operators on the phone it now says, "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
The ROM I used was Rodriguezstyle MoDaCoMoDrOm V2.3
I thought I lucked out and found the Bell RUU from Shipped ROMs but that didn't help at all.
I got too excited when I first received the phone and didn't take down the radio info before I starting messing about, which was stupid on my part.
I am freaking out a little and not sure what else to do. I had asked a friend to bring this phone over from Calgary, AB for me because they don't sell them in Winnipeg, MB where I live so bringing it back to the retail outlet is going to be pretty difficult.
Please, please, please help me. I apologize in advance if I am posting in the wrong spot.
You may be able to return for "warranty" purposes. Just lie through your teeth

Haha! I wish I could. The retail outlet where the phone was purchased is in another province and is about a day's drive. They don't sell the device in the city I live in.
...although I could give it a shot here and ask them to ship one over? I'll save that as a last resort

I think I might have to try this method. Do you know if there is a repository of all the radio released for the Legend?
I've flashed the radio suggested, 7.08.35.21, still nothing. I was reading in another thread that it could be my SIM card? Strange how I was able to place a call when the phone was first unlocked. ...but it IS about 3 years old.
I'm not sure what else to do. I just may have to plead with the retail stores here. Hopefully they can ship me a new one

Whoops! I meant the SIM card. Sorry about the mix up.
I just got off the phone with Rogers Tech Support to see if there was anything wrong with my SIM. He said that the symptoms I am having seemed similar to that of a locked device ("Error while searching for networks" and "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network" when in Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile network > Network Operators).
He mentioned that by flashing a new ROM, that could have re-locked the device. Sounds strange to me but if this is true, how do I find out which carrier the device is now locked to? I am now running the rooted ROM found at the root tutorial TheUnlockr.com.
The phone is not prompting me with an unlock code input like it did the first time around. Is there a way to bring up that prompt again?

A few updates:
- tried flashing different ROMs
- tried toggling radio and autosync
- tried flashing a new radio
- tried using stock Bell Mobility RUU
- contacted Rogers and got them to reset me on the network
Still nothing, not even voice. I've been obsessing over this and it's driving me a little nuts.
rajasyaitan has suggested flashing all the radios that were released until I hit something that worked. Is there a repository out there?
I don't know why, but it never occurred to me to ask for the stock Virgin Mobile Canada RUU until now. Does anyone have it lying around somewhere or knows where I can get my hands on it? I can't find it online anywhere. If not, is there a way to pull it from a phone that is running the stock ROM? I'm not sure if it is the same as the Bell Mobility one but I thought I should start from the very beginning.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Please my phone is having the same exact problem, it's not working! I'm with Virgin Mobile Canada and I cannot connect to my carrier telling me my SIM card is not allowing me to connect to them! Please someone help! I used this Rom called Stock Froyo ROM for the HTC Legend with Online Kitchen from Modaco.
And when I loaded it, it wouldn't let me access my settings and then I loaded my backed up Rom, and now I can't connect to my Mobile Carrier. (Virgin Mobile Canada) what should I do?
Just a thought here, but is it possible that the phone is SIM locked again? When you unlocked it, did you have to flash another radio FW? Did you try "unlocking" it again?

Actually my phone is connected now, I had the same problem, I did something with the recovery before the problem was magically fixed, I went into recovery, and went down to "Backup/Restore" and I went to "Restore Google something sys..." (Restore NOT backup) and when it was done, my phone was working again, but I was on a different Rom other then the one that caused the trouble. That's what I did and it might have worked because of that I really don't know. And my phone is on "GSM/WCDMA auto", and it's connecting just fine.
So,
I was using my XT-1563 on a CyanogenMod in one of my local carriers. I bought a new phone and decided to sell this one, so I went back and installed stock rom. So far everything was ok.
The problem came when the person that was buying it tried to use her simcard. The phone didn't show any error, but it never connected to that network. I've been trying all day to fix this. I have flashed nearly half of all the stock roms available, obviously starting with those from my zone, but so far none has worked.
I also tried the simcard into my new phone and it works just fine.
So, I know the following:
- The simcard is ok.
- It's not a signal problem (I have tested it in different parts of the city and zones I know have very good signal).
- The phone works using a simcard from one carrier, but not the others (and it doesn't ask me for some unlock code).

So, did you ever carrier unlock the phone? I realize it's not asking for a code, but you never said you actually unlocked it.

At this point I'm not 100% sure.
When I bought the phone it was supposed to be unlocked (I got it from someone else) and I'm pretty sure it was, because it was originally bought for one carrier (Entel Chile) and then I used it with another one (Wom Chile). By law, every phone sold in Chile since a few years is mandatory unlocked and this one is not that old (2015).
Right now it only works with Wom Chile, even tho I've installed Entel's stock rom. I think it's some baseband issue from what I've read, but I can't be sure.

i used cm14 on xt1562, i'v feel my network was drop around 30-40% specially on Reliance JIO 4G VOILET.
Over all - rom is good for enjoy but not for stability
