yeah thats what i was thinking.
I don't know about CM9 (the rule is not to ask), but ICS is available for the wildfire from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1486811
I use it on my Wildfire, and except for the lack of camera everything major works. Just overclock it a bit with SetCPU and it runs really well.
CM9 will never be officially released for the Wildfire.
Arco will most likely do some unofficial patches, but that's the best we'll get.
Erwin took over cm9 for wildfire and its looking good . Stable enough for my daily rom
Sent from my Wildfire using xda premium
I hope there will come a cm9 for the htc wildfire..
But it isn't a problem if we have a stable non cm.
Sure I rather have cm because we know it, but if I can have a stable release ics non cm or no release, then I choose for the non cm one
And I allready tried some ics roms. Sure it doesn't work super complete, but it works and can be a daily rom for sure.
So prob no cm release, but we will get a ics release.
(and if we don't.... need a new phone gets on the list )
cm9 unofficial already released
cm9 was released on a post by arco on a thread then erwin p made a thread with the download link
there are things not functioning such as camera
Take a look at miui v4 ics http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517856 thread is active
Replace the Trebuchet launcher in CM-9 with nova launcher for a little bit smooth UI and with more customization.
I also moved the Nova launcher to system, its not showing any issues
(For that, copy the launcher to /system/app by using ES file Explorer. Remember to check root explorer and Mount file system in the ES File explorer settings before copying the file.)
After copying the file go to its properties and set the attributes as rw-,r--,r--
and then uncheck the mount file system in the explorer settings and u will get the launcher working.
CM9 official will never be on HTC Buzz. I know it sad but we have person like ErwinP who try to develop 4 Android. It is quite good but now for some reason ( I don't really know for what ) it stooped.

He hasn't stopped, I'm pretty sure from reading erwins posts that he is the type of person who would let us know if he was going to stop. Not all the updates are made for us so what's the point in building the rom which takes hours to build if there isn't any real change to the last one?

Hi all,
as you know today Google announced Android 2.3.
So, I'm just asking if someone on the forum plan to build some AOSP 2.3 custom rom
(I'd love to do this, but I really don't know how to... Jerpelea or zdzihu, some advice for noob ? )
EDIT : found this post, looks nice http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/26/ho...om-for-android-part-1-setting-up-the-kitchen/
I'm gonna give it a try
I think you might struggle to get past step 1..

1. This ONLY works for HTC Android devices at the moment, later versions might support others (check here for an update when it does).

Not sure it should be a problem. The tutorial is a little start as you can't find any cool tutorial... especially x10

yea please developers .... the x10 will be AWESOME and i don't have to change it later.
Ok, I'm getting Android sources, I don't know at all if I'll be able to do something, that's worth a try anyway

working well with the recovery menu - i was able to wipe and then install the 2.3 ROM.
driver support is none existant (as Z said in his post on that thread) but you can at least have a look around and check it all out. Animations seem very smooth all things considered - hopefully 2.3 will not be far off for a real release for our beloved X10
btw - adb is active on the 2.3 ROM also, i was able to push a few apk's to it with no issue at all. Didnt try pulling anything, but assume it would work fine.
and yes, i was able to restore my 2.1 backup with no issues when i had finished playing

dude, did you read Zdzihu's post at all? he has released a preview ROM in his other thread. you can load it using his recovery menu. as i said, i installed a few things via ADB (which included shootme for screens) but was unable to access the sdcard
want more proof? im not spamming, and Zdzihu is the X10 god, so he is telling truth too.

Hi guys,
Here's Gingerbread 2.3 PREVIEW rom. It is not one of our roms - THIS IS SDK DUMP - SLOW AND WITHOUT ANY HARDWARE SUPPORT - hence we do not support it!
It is only for those who can't run 2.3 on emulator but still want to see Gingerbread in action. For me, it's just a proof of concept that it will work with 2.6.29 kernel.
Again, THIS IS NOT AN AOSP ROM RELEASE! It's just something to play with in a spare time
Installation: Boot into xRecovery -> install custom zip -> select X10-2.3-preview-signed.zip
Please do a full wipe before installation!

I hope that it'll be true CM, stock, "official", without million themes embedded and different frameworks, with ADW.Launcher and with stock camera app, and once hopefully geohot hacks X10, we'll be able to flash custom kernels and make fully working CM.

Hi... we are users who use atrix miui which is ics mod...
We are using ics mod, (not ics) miui rom.
It is much more stable, quick, can
play video, hardware accelrate... yes
But we don't want you guys hacking our server.

Of course, bcuz theres no REAL ICS MIUI right now.
What he have done is porting galnet miui ics for defy to atrix.
And in my knowledge galnet miui ics is only using ics framework.
That's why this miui has gb things on it.
And when I flashed this miui little while and I think it really experimental rom.
the link from this thread is definitely miui ics for atrix.
As I mentioned in above it is galnet miui ics.

Anyone can modify a build prop to say 4.0.1 - You can make it say build 100.2.6 if you really wanted it to say that. what the about phone says for build number doesnt mean anything. Most of what has popped up from this site seems to be just modified versions of what is already here on XDA... It's also from a Korean site - and as someone else mentioned in the other thread - be careful with it.
Scrolling does not feel quite as smooth, anyone else agree?

Since the xperia x10 mini, galaxy mini and various other ARMV6 ldpi/mdpi devices are all getting MIUI v4 ports, whats the possibility of getting a port to the wildfire. This thread is just to raise awareness of it, and trying to get some developers involved. I may attempt to get a basic port from the galaxy fit or x10 mini working by using the basic tools in the rom kitchen. But thats the best I can do.

Oh god I hope this goes through and we get a working MIUI ROM.
I've been loving how MIUI looks ever since I first saw it
This sounds nice. Hopefully someone might look into it.
Sounds good to me, I was reading a thread about how they ported it for an mdpi device earlier today, it still sounds like a lot of work resizing but I think it can be done eventually.
I just read that the Armv6 version probably won't have themes.
I'm afraid it's unlikely themes will ever work because of the proprietary binary which MIUI uses to apply themes. It compiled for arm7 only.

If you're going to use that tutorial, use the X10 Mini/Mini Pro version of MIUI most MIUI apps are resized to QVGA. We may have the possiblity of having themes in the future, since more apps are going to be opensourced. Anyway, thanks for providing the link to the tutorial. I'll try it out later.
UPDATE: Turns out its perfectly possible to port between two LDPI devices, I'll get a copy of Ubuntu setup tonight or tommorow, to start editing and compiling. I'll post any updates here.

UPDATE III: Final update of tonight. Returned the update-script back to default ICS. leaving out the offending code from the MIUI tutorial.

ok... but basically my idea is to port a fuly-working rom to the wildy, instead of a cm-dependant one. If a cm7 based miui exists and it's compatible with wildfire, that would be great, it won't be as cool as ICS but it would be a starting point even for other developers, who can still work with android 2.x if they want to;
that's something i'll try to do, i definetly want miui on wildfire, not necessarly ICS miui.

What does "touch buttons don't work" mean? That the home, search, back and menu button do nothing? If so, maybe you should wait to fix that before releasing the ROM, because people will be mad to find out they installed a ROM where buttons don't work, despite it being stated on your post.

By the way ilyaaa, how did you get this rom to boot? I was trying to port it and I couldn't get logcat, so I didn't know where the problem was exactly. Please tell me because it might help me port Sense 4.0 ROM.

I don't think these initial versions are "for everyday use!" Wifi is not working BT is bugged and sometimes freeze means it's unstable.

Me thinks that pac files were taken from the rom posted on forumbers cm9 thread and put over his cm10.1 rom

Appreciated effort mate ..... but was really hoping you would finish the previous project, CM 10.1, before starting a new one with more or less same major issues ... can't see the point when functionality is lacking really
This rom got same problems of CM 10.1 because is another port from U8800 Pro and ports most of times aren't stable (good example is port of games to PC) and effort to try to fix errors and bugs is almost equal or more to start from scratch.
I would love to help but my knowledge in this field are very few. I sincerely hope that you can fix all that errors particularly bluetooth and radio.
I'm still waiting for Blefish's CM 10.1 i believe this is gonna be bug free
