It seems that my 10.1 can't even effectively handle 480p streams without skipping. Problem withmy tab or just normal?
Can you give an example of what streams you are trying to play?
I haven't been able to play 720p streams smoothly but I haven't had any trouble with SD streams.
Hmm, wierd. I can stream 720p youtube and other embedded 720p flash streams without any problems :x
same here - might be a tab/OS version issue the OP has
my tab is the IO version - galaxytask 13.1, OC 1.4

Well I guess this is all pointless unless we start giving the specifics here.
I am running Overcome 2.2.0 with Pershoots latest kernel. I have the CPU set to the stock clock speed (1ghz) and the governor set to ondemand.
Youtube videos in the Youtube app play fine HD and SD. Flash videos on Youtube in the browser are a mixed bag. The 480p videos play fine but I haven't been able to find a 720p flash video on Youtube that will play smoothly.
Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atx2856pUos. On 480p flash in the browser it plays fine. On 720p it does not.
i have everything at stock 3.2. The streams I'm talking about are on sites not the you tube app. I think view on the YouTube adds are optimized for mobile devices. Anything higher than 380 on a site stream gives me hiccups.
I have trouble viewing some flash content using the web browser. I watch a lot of Twitch tv streams which play pretty well on 480p 720p is ok but it can stutter/buffer quite a lot at times.
I have encountered a problem with the latest flash update where bbc iplayer doesn't work and there appears to be screen tearing so I've had to downgrade to the pre installed flash.
Wait, which one do you mean? Stuttering can be caused by the tab, but buffering is always due to a slow internet connection.

I haven't noticed any stuttering on YouTube, browser or app even in HD 720. Then last night I was trying to watch some Dakar rally on their website, and it was stuttering like mad. Even at 320. Buffer was fine, but like every 2 or 3 seconds it would freeze for a few frames.
The youtube app works fine it's just when viewing flash in the browser that has problems.
I watch videos on twitch TV and the video freezes then plays, I have no idea if this is the internet or if it's the tablet but since other videos play fine I would have to say it's the internet however as youtube videos work fine I would have to assume it is either twitch tv or the web browser.
Edit:
I got in touch with Samsung support about the performance and video problems I'm experiencing and was told to return the tablet to 1 of their repair centres as it "would need a software reset, or re flashing of the Software," Samsungs wording. As there is a repair centre pretty close to where I live I'll be taking it there either this weekend or next week and hopefully they can get it sorted

Cool, let me know what happens after the new fix. Thanks.
Flash is really rubbish. I when I switch to full screen the screen keep flashing. I have to uninstall the update to solve this problem... Any1 experience the same problem?
Sometimes when I switch to full screen I get flashing, or a black triangle part of the screen that flickers. Again, this is just through the browser. I've tried other browsers (Dolphin, Firefox) and still go back to the stock one, I just like it the best.
I can confirm that flash on honeycomb is much lagging than on gingerbread or ics. Before I had Mytouch 4g( single core) and Motorola Xoom and the Mytouch gave me better experience when I watch flash videos. And now,I have sensation 4g running ics and SGT on 3.2. The sensation is the winner when watch flash content.T

Just wanted to know if anyone else has issues with video playback with the built in video player.
I've always had issues since the phone was new playing back any videos, after a few seconds it says "Sorry, this video cannot be played"
This happens with all videos, with any filetype, even ones recorded from the phone on 3gp.
This has happened from stock. Any ideas?

Not from me, playback seems fine. I mostly use rockplayer.
However, sometimes Youtube app does this but i put it down to loss of connection
I see you'r on t-mobile. Check ur software version.(settings->about->software information)
The latest for unlocked DHD's is 1.32.405.6. If yours is lower ( or any different for that matter ) it may be the branding. try to update the normal way and if not - root, s-off, clockwork and custom rom.
Ivo made a beautiful and easy to follow how-to in the development section. Enjoy
So video runs pretty flawless when i watch stuff from prime. When i watch netflix or stream from the browser the audio is off a little. Is there anyway to help this at all.
I am rooted btw.
I have found no solution to this using all combinations of stock, CM7, and intersectRaven's kernel. It is present in all video players that I have tried meaning that it is probably an issue with the audio hardware/drivers. The latest version of netflix is by far the worst with at least a half second delay in audio. I have found this post which makes it possible to use old versions of Netflix. Versions 1.3.0 and 1.4.0 work fine (fine being only a very slight delay in audio).
Edit: I have not tried Prime. If it works flawlessly then that rules out the audio hardware or drivers.
i'm playing local and network streamed videos with mx player - they are fully sync - it's definitely not the hardware - i assume netflix and amazons streaming services are buggy - youtube is also sync
btw. there are some other threads about this ...
My netflix is almost perfectly in sync... it might be off by a few milliseconds, like 2 but its only noticable if you stare at their mouths and are really looking for it. Did i just get lucky?
Thanks! The Netflix 1.4 works pretty much spot-on, barely any noticeable sync issues.

Maybe its a problem with flash version that the kindle comes with. I'm gonna try the older netflix.
Hey Guys,
just got my new Nexus and I am very impressed about it. But now I am experiencing a very anoing problem:
I want to use my Nexus to record some videos, but everytime I want to watch them on my phone, it get's laggy as hell.
Playing the Videos on my computer is just fine and everything works just fine...
These problems occured even on stock.
My phone right now (sorry but I cant Upload an image)
Android-Version: 4.3
Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-g90216aa [email protected] #2
ParanoidAndroid-Version: 3.92
I wouldn't rely on the in built player, get mobo player (mobo team one) or MX player... or both
Actually I allready tried all of your suggestions, none worked better (sorry did'nt mentioned).
It's still laggy.

Reboot your phone and check what's syncing in the background.. Settings/accounts/Google, then click the gmail address/s and see what's ticked.
In my Google-Acc, everything is ticked
If you have put lots of music on lately it will all be getting upped to the cloud in the background, I think that's the way it works. Try unticking Google play music.
Yepp, will try it. Though I am not having any music on my phone right now.. :/
I guess it won't be that then. I'll try some vids later, I haven't tested since going to 4.3.
Okay, thanks..
As I already said, it was even on stock like this. Got my Nexus with 4.3 already installed.
Hope it get's better. Has anyone else an idea?
Using stock 4.3 my videos are playing fine. I used es file explorer to stream them straight over my lan, only my 720 mkv files had trouble with no sound but played smoothly at least.
Hmm, awkward... But I am not talking about streaming, and not about mkv-files...
Only recording in 1080p and playback on the nexus is laggy. Same record on PC is fine.
So I've had my G2 on AT&T for about 6 months or so and recently rooted it using ioroot, flashed TWRP recovery and installed a few of the CM11 nightly roms. I keep having this YouTube issue (both in app and using various browsers) where the video will be playing fine and then just get stuck trying to buffer the video. It never gets out of the buffer loading on it's own, and occasionally it progresses the video after I skip forward or backward in the video. I have googled the issue for a few hours with no fix. I have tried running the app at startup, every possible resolution, disconnect and reconnect to wifi, using just mobile LTE instead of wifi, reinstalling the app, running 3 different CM11 mods and 1 CM 10.2 stable mod. Nothing has seemed to shake the issue, the only way I can get 100% video playback is when I'm running stock 4.4.2 KK. Video playback for local videos is fine with no issues using MX player, and steaming videos on websites other than youtube is working just fine. I'm open to all suggestions, I appreciate the help in advance as I am a YouTube junkie and watch videos a lot.
One last little problem I noticed is that I can no longer stream 1080p videos on YouTube, the highest res I can use is 720p, anyone know whats going on with that?
Anyone?

For the past couple of days now, whenever I try to play a video, I hear the audio fine, but don't see any video, just a black screen. At first I thought it was trouble with my YouTube app since that's basically where I only watch videos and read on several forums that the issue was caused by having the official twitter app (which is weird since I don't have twitter). I also tried restarting my phone, uninstalling/reinstalling youtube, installing older versions of youtube, all of which never worked.
So I decided to swallow my pride and just download a fake youtube alternative. To my surprise, the videos still show a black screen and only play audio. This had me thinking, so I tried to play a video in my camera roll I downloaded... Same problem, however, if I play a video I recorded myself on the phone it works... The even weirer part is though, that if I play a video through youtube via the Chrome browser it works (despite it looking like 140p and horrible audio) but it works! I've also tried smart cleaning, deleting cache and data but to no avail.
Is there a problem with my phones flash player, or whatever extension it uses? I know Chrome uses its own built in player which could explain why it sorks in Chrome but not anywhere else.
This all seemed to happen randomly, I didnt do anything. Games and other media including music still seem to work fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Also I am rooted on 12A and have been for the past 6 months.
I'm also having the same issue with my vs995 running on rooted 12A
