Yup. As long as you have an ICS ROM and ICS kernal, it's all good. Creamed glacier should've flashed a kernal with it. Oh well yes it is safe and usable.

Thanks! And also I tried to flash it when I booted beta 7.0 but when it said it was going into bootloader the screen went black and the physical keys stayed lit... pulled the battery after 10 min
Am I doing something out of order?

What did you do? Did you make a backup to restore?
First flashed 7.0 then attempted to flash new kernel. Phone froze. Then I changed the apn so I could use data and flashed clockworkmod(did not try to flash kernel after flashing clockwork) and restored to an older rom.

The MIUI ICS beta by febycv? Try the TDJ ICS kernal again. Make a nandroid as always

I need some help installing roms. I am not new to installing roms, I have been installing roms since I had my T-mobile wing. Then I got a G1 and rooted that as well. I have 3.0.2.4 recovery installed and I am trying to install Viritous newest rom 1.1.5. I have installed before 1.05 and it worked fine I just changed it to another one. My problem is once the phone loads the rom it just bootloops to the white Mytouch4G screen. I have wiped cached and format as well. I haven't wiped the SD card yet. I hope I don't have to.
How long do you wait on the white screen?

Make sure you wipe the dalvik also. How are you trying to to install the rom through rom manager or actually from recovery itself?

I will thanks.Sorry for not making a title for the original thread. I tried to edit but it wouldnt let me. I let it sit at the white screen for over 10min.
Yeah I had that issue once did a hotboot and restored to my nandroid backup. I was sweating it though for sure!

Ok, some how i tested the front camera on mytouch 4g to take a picture, but i notice that it was not working.
So, tried and tried but the onlyt hing that came out it was that only black screen, and freezes.
Since i installed the ROM i did not test the front camera until now.
Is there any fix?

Working fine for me. I'm also on vu 2.37 with unity v9 kernel.
Do a full wipe and reflash.

Just do a complete wipe and flash the rom again. May be FFC will work now.
If you still face problems try any other roms than VU.
Also try the ffc without any themes. Some themes break stuff.

Yea. Just go into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik under advance and reflash the rom.
Once it boots up just fix permission in rom manager, reboot and try the ffc without any mods.

I just installed virtuous unity now the market works. Howcome it didn't on cm7 nightlies or royal ginger ?

It does work on CM7 but you just car across data issues. In that case all you do is clear the data for vending and relog back on. If you still have problem after that then full wipe is recommend (system -w).

Because I'm running on a rooted 2.2.1 phone. I followed gfree's ultimate root and now I want to flash a mod , so do I have to update my software?

You can just start flashing. You're already set. Just make sure you boot into recovery and make nandroid of your current rom. Might want to update recovery through rom manager before anything though.

the latest recovery is clockworkmod 5.0.2.0.
i highly suggest the Virtuous Unity rom

Hey guys, just curious if any if you know if any roms that done have the lag that causes the flash to not sync with the shutter. I have tried a bunch of rooms but they all seem like they have this problem beside the aosp roms. Any helpwould be greatly appreciated, thankyou

It's probably not a wipe issue since it's a known issue on Sense 3.5 ROMs. However, I believe that is the only platform that has that issue. All other ROMs including earlier versions of Sense (like 3.0) don't have that bug.
Alright then. I wonder why I've never run into that. I've used 4 different sense 3.5 ROMs and use my camera everyday.

I wipe the cache and do a factory data. I actually just tried virtuous with sense 3.0 and still had the same issue. Im back on stock now cuz is the only sense ROM I can find without this issue

Unity ROM has that issue, with Sense 3.0.
You need to flash Doubleshot camera to get rid of it.

You should wipe system partition between ROM flashes. It will save lots of issues in the future. That, followed by wipe data/factory reset (on CWM). Alternatively, if you're on 4EXT there is a "format all partitions (except sd card)" option.

Thanks for the link so what would be a good rom to work with this apk? i figure it wont work on any 3.5 sense roms as no ones been able to resolve the problem towards the flash and camera on those roms, if im correct?

Well I just tried mikrunny. Wiped, flash, rebooted and than flashed the doubleshot camera but I'm still getting the flash delay I know I'm just being picky but the only reason I have a mytouch if for the flash when I go out to snap pics, otherwise I have my vibrant for my everyday phone. I just wish I could find a 3.5 ROM that doesn't have this problem, I really dislike stock espresso ROM lol

Well, teejay said its probably not a wipe issue, but as I've said before, this has never been a problem for me. Format system, wipe data/factory reset (in that order), and reflash. Formatting the system partition has saved me many an issue that others have reported.

Then try sense 3.0 rom.Im gonna try one in this weed end.Anyway,CM7 has a great camera.
Alright, so I just installed virtuous unity and loved the ROM but camera did not work with flash so I tried to flash the double shot camera and still same issue I guess my question now, since I can't seem to get my camera to function properly on sense 3.5 or 3.0 roms, what ROM if any would anybody suggest. I want something fast and smooth, any help would be greatly appreciated, thankyou

I don't know why, but I think it's a kernel thing. This happens to me too, until I flash tdj sense kernel and it's fine. Others have reported this helping as well
