I think that is a huge problem on kindle fire, i mean, we can stream our music for amazon cloud drive but not videos or other documents.
I know it's possible to get to amazon cloud drive on silk (or any browser) and download files from there to kindle, but still these ones will not appear on video library but yes on galery app.
Only purchased videos will appear on video library.
Also if i upload videos for my fire they will only appear on galery app and not on video library.
I want to know if there is any way to get my videos on video library on kindle fire.
anyone?

I've looked into this fairly extensively and I haven't not found a solution that doesn't involve using a third party syncing service that can stream. I use Sugarsync, I know that Dropbox will work as well. I just use SS to store my vids in the cloud and then download/stream them to the Kindle and view using the Video player or Moboplayer.
It's a kludge, but it works fine for now.
So basically, I use:
Sugarsync to store/stream
ES File Explorer to view/delete/move
Gallery or Mobo to view
and using subtitles?

I have problems installing market apps -- I always get a notification that Installation is unsuccessful. I was trying to install video players like Moboplayer and VPlayer. Previous installs like CNBC worked fine.
Also, I was not able to find the stock video player. Where is it? Like to add a video player which support more type of videos like DIVX.
I did found out that I could not install any apps from Market when I have connection with my PC.
Thanks for your help.
ps: my new tablet, contrary to XOOM, is not supporting synch book marks with CHROME! Anyone know how?
where are you located at?
For movies, the Gallery app is the same as the movies app. If you go to File Manager and look for the movie you wanna watch (it can be saved on the TF hard drive or the microSD card foler), just tap on the movie file name and you'll get prompted to which application to use to play that movie. It will show "Movies" and "Moboplayer" as the options if you have MoboPlayer installed. If you don't, it shows as Movies and you click on it and you can start watching it provided it's a format that is supported.
I strongly suggest downloading MoboPlayer though.
I can't install moboplayer as it fails installing. Any idea why?
Found problem...
I ran out of 16GB file space....
Anyone let me know how to use CHROME bookmarks with browser....
Netflix is working good. However on a side note, my videos I loaded to the \videos folder don't show up in my library. I assume it is a format problem but they are all .m4v videos. I downloaded the only real player showing up in the amazon app store and it works fine for playing the videos. Now if I can just find out how to change the volume while watching.........
My books don't show up in the books when I add them. They show up in docs. They're .mobi too.
Only books that are purchased from Amazon will show up in the Books section. Even sideloaded Mobi files will appear in Docs.

I haven't tested side-loading the Nook app (I'm an Amazonian), but I'd imagine that would work.
The Kindle reader does not support .epub. Side-loaded mobi files open and read like Amazon purchased books.
My videos showed up in the Gallery app but it would not play them, it said it was an unsupported format. For now I'm going to just stream my own stuff to the Kindle using Emit which is available on the Amazon app store.
You can sideload the Aldiko ebook reader and the nook app without a problem.
I use calibre to prepare and load my books to all my kindles and book that I had on my previous kindle I just copied to \books folder on my Fire. it showed up in carousel and in books section. I was also able to use whisper sync to sync page read to my ipad2 kindle app as well as iphone app
I downloaded a .mobi from the internet. Put it in the Books folder. It shows up fine for me (with cover art).

My .mobi files placed in the Books folder show up in the Documents.
As for videos, thus far, I can use Root Explorer to find the content and play as long as it is .mp4.
.mov and .divx won't play with the default player.

If you remove the pdoc tag from your .mobi files they will load into your Books Library with cover art and sync as any other book. You can use Calibre to do it.

What I did was changed the extension from .m4v to .mp4 and my videos that I sideloaded show up and play fine.
They were HQ videos I converted for my iPad. Hope that helps
I am using rockplayer and it seems to reed most file and wmv and plays vey smooth...
rockplayer.com
I also have yxplayer but its a tad slow...
MX Video Player
I had a few .avi files (divx or xvid encoded) that I couldn't play. M4V, WMV, others played fine in the standard video player. MX Player from the Android Market worked like a charm, just the free version was needed.
This is my first post, so it won't let me post a link, but its easy to find.
I'm not too familiar with the Android OS. What are some recommended apps?
Depends on what you wanna do.
Music apps: Winamp, Spotify
Internet-related Apps: (irssi) ConnectBot, Firefox
Launcher: ADW, Go Launcher EX (launcher pro doesn't work)
If you tell me more about what you wanna do, I can answer more specifically
Honestly anything and everything.
BTW what's a good Video player app.
Cut the Rope, for one

The default video player in the hacked gingerbread roms worked the best for me, but doesn't work here yet.
Mobo player seems to be the preference, but I despise it and have yet to find anything else decent.
Whats so hard about sorting stuff alphabetically or by date? I have no idea wtf it is sorting as.
Then asked which folder has your videos, and you have to actually hit a refresh button for it to find new stuff. And then goes and shows you crap not even in that folder...

I use rockplayer. It was the first one I could find that would play xvid files. I haven't tried any others, but I don't have any complaints about it.
Rockplayer is good for videos. I sideloaded it on my KF.
ES File explorer (in Amazon market) will allow you to navigate the file structure (good for finding anything you download)
Hulu + (in Amazon market) if you have a hulu plus account.
Netflix (in Amazon market) if you have a netflix account.
Pulse is great for news.
Apps I use -
Grocery IQ (my girl and I can share a shopping list, her on a iphone and me on my droid charge and kindle fire), Google Reader (rss reader), Google Listen (podcast listener), Wordfued (so addicted to this scrabble knock-off), DropBox (for moving files to the 'cloud' and between devices and computers)
I have found the following to work great on my stock (un-Rooted) Kindle Fire.
- MX Video Player 1.4b (sideloaded), plays AVI, WMV, Etc. perfectly!
- Go Launcher EX (Amazon Store), Must Have!
- Battery monitor Widget 1.9.9 (sideloaded) - great for see power use
- File Manager (Amazon Store) -
- Express News
- Sense Analog Clock 3.2.3 (sideloaded)
Found many of the apps at androiddev.orkitra.com
Add to the list:
Dropbox
Titanbackup Pro
OTA RootKeeper
Root Explorer
Delete all contacts
I installed (among others):
Opera Mobile (a much faster browser alternative to the stock browser)
Audiogalaxy (allows me to stream my itunes collection to the Fire)
Gemini App Manager (quickly clears cache)
Wiki Encyclopedia
Youtube for Android
TuneIn Radio
Box.net
US Newspapers
Always look at the free app of the day, today was documents to go! I enjoy Cube Runner 3D (free), Netflix, and tubemate (have to sideload, they're not on either market currently) as it can download 1080p youtube videos straight to your device.
I have a standard Kindle Fire, I have not unlocked it or modified the software in any way. I sideloaded Opera Mobile, and have found it to be a big step up over the default Silk browser. I however have run into a problem using it to view Youtube videos.
If I leave the user agent as "tablet", I'm redirected to the mobile version of the video. When I click to play, I get an error message saying vdn.youtube is an unregistered protocol, instead of either playing in-browser or playing in the Kindle video player. I've done some searching, and apparently m.yahoo.com is trying to play the video in the default Android Youtube application which is not on the Fire nor available in the Kindle App store. Anyone know where I can find this in order to sideload it? Or know what to do to get it to launch the video in the Fire video player?
I can set the user agent to "desktop" and play back videos that way, but they playback in the browser window, which is less than ideal and has performance issues. So that isn't a solution.

I loaded Youtube 2.2.14 and it works fine. I got it from 4shared.com
What application do you recommend for viewing photos (slideshow) and movies within a folder?
So far I haven't found one that will handle both functions.
I'm using VLC and MXPlayer apps for watching movies.
