$150 to $225 would be about right
Depends on the capacity of it, but unfortunately they aren't worth that much anymore. If you are going to sell it though, do it soon before the new tabs start hitting the market and it will be worth even less.

Yeah right before Christmas I checked Brest buys trade jn calculator. It was around 150, now it sits at 70. Craigslist of coarse is going to be more, just thought it was funny. Might gift this to my girlfriend s little brother

Based on your tax situation, gift it to charity and then take off $799 on your taxes.
Just looking at completed listings on ebay, they are selling used for $275+ typically.
i wouldnt go lower than $250. the lowest price i've seen at a physical retailer is walmart @ $330 for the 16gb. best buy (as far as website) only carries refurbs for $299 for 16gb. no new ones to be found.
even with a quad core 7 incher from asus at $250 looming, $250 for a used a500(10-inch tablet with at least 16gb and full size usb) is a good deal

yeah, I pointed that out in the OP. Frankly, most refurbished phones are people who think soft bricks are bricks... I doubt much is really wrong with them. For a nice tablet under $270, not a bad risk.
I'm going to wait for something bigger/badder... but thought some may be in the market and are familiar with the TouchWiz UI/Samsung.

Refurbished means it was "broken" then fixed, and then inspected by a Samsung tech, essentially a refurb is better than new, new devices are only randomly inspected, say one in a batch of 1000, a refurb will be manually inspected before being sent out.
Personally I've had better luck with refurbs than new devices

The keyboard is not included and costs $149 at MSRP. I got mine on sale for $115

Good point but some times refurbished devices are not carefully tested. Most of the time the tech will just power it on for few seconds then turn it off. If the device has heating problems or bad memory, turn it on and off will not fully test those components. I would say spend another $100 more and get the Asus Eee transformer. Way better than the Samsung and already runds honeycomb. I used it along with my clear 4g spot and works very well and dont have to worry about getting charged for 3g usage.

I grabbed a Xoom 3g 32gig off of craigslist for $450 for my wife... it was a steal. I had to drive an hour and a half but well worth it IMO. It was brand new in the box. Score!
Now... to root hers or not, that is the question.

I would say a custom kernel non overclocked stock rom would be good setup to avoid issues....

Yea, I thought about putting the Tiamat ROM 1.1 on it...maybe even OC to 1.5. I am still on Tiamat 1.4.4 and won't do the ROM because I am using Bazar6 red theme and don't want to lose it. The benefits of ROM 1.1 wasn't worth losing my theme or messing with it in general.
Didn't they lower the price to $400? I hope you got a case in the deal also.

I saw they dropped the price on the wifi model to $499 but I got the 3g model for $450. I haven't seen a 3g model anywhere close to $400.
You should always root the wife, its only polite..

I had a Droid X and sold it and my wife has an HTC INC that is going to get sold also. Both of us went to LG Octane's for texting and phone use. We both found ourselves not using our smart phones after we got the XOOM's so there was no point in having both.

I'm currently staying in Manhattan for another 3 weeks before returning back to New Zealand and wondering if any stores could be expected to repeat the Black Friday (or was it Cyber Monday?) sale price ($299?) for the Eee Pad? January time there will be some for sure, with the release of the Prime.
I picked mine up from Futureshop for $299 on Black Friday.... Looked around today hoping it might be the same price for one for my wife, but nothing... Prime is still listed as pre-order here (Canada) (vs 'sold out') so it looks like they have no reason to drop the price until the Prime comes out. The salesman actually told me to wait... considering they are usually pushy and commission-driven I'll take that as a sign. Either way $299 seems to be the 'target' price for now...

at least they have a good return policy... if it goes on sale in the next little while you can always get the difference... I actually bought two iconias and the transformer at the same time as they were constantly running out of stock. I test drove them all and keep kept checking for sales but because of GPS issues with the iconias I kept the transformer instead (though I did like the build and connectivity of the Acer better. aside from the better screen I also find the transformer to be slightly smoother as well.)
Now running revolver and blades3....
Whatever... enjoy your new transformer!

This is why this forum is full of posts by people who bought a TF from a major retailer only to find that it had been modded or otherwise played with and now doesn't work properly. You would be the first to flaming the store that sold you a second hand item.

The only thing i did was install GPS test (a main concern for me) compare screens and build quality, and smoothness... made my choice, then factory reset, and return...
I`m kinda new to all this stuff but I'm sure thatsnot a big deal? I also did a factory reset before i brought it back....

If your new at this stuff, then do your homework here before you buy. Might save you some headaches as well as factory reset may not clear all personal data.

Agreed. The reviews tend to justify the $350 price, but it's just not a magic spot. $299 along with an actual advertising campaign would've sold these things like hotcakes.

As soon as I saw the deal, I had to battle with myself over ordering and possibly having the order cancelled or driving myself across the street to Best Buy. I decided to try and I got lucky for once with this phone. I've literally cancelled 4 orders that got delayed so even though I didn't want this color, I finally got the phone and for a steal.
