[Q] Help Overcoming AutoUpdated Nook Color

When I bought my used Nook Color, I used the 8 re-boot method to flash back to 1.0.0 ... de-registered... registered... updated to 1.1.0 ... then used Auto-Nooter 3.0 to get my perfect device.... Everything has worked great until the BN 1.2 update totally ruined by device!! I have tried booting off the uSD card for AutoNooter3.0 but doesn't work... I tried using 8 re-boots to get back to 1.0 (to start over)... doesn't work... i get the Android screen and it stays stuck on that screen no matter what I do!!! Please somebody help me!! I want to go back to stock 1.0 ... then 1.1 then Auto-Nooter 3.0... restore my Titanium... and turn off Auto-Updates (which I've just found instructions for.)
Thanks,
Kevin
Do you want to stay on eclair? I would highly recommend using one of the modified stock froyo (modified 1.2 update) roms from this site and flash it per site instructions. Then you could manual nooter it. Then due to cuurent limits on the root of 1.2, I would go to the dual boot thead and set up dual boot with froyo (1.2) on the second boot and cm7 on the first. Nothing beats cm7, especially if you add dalgrin's overclock to the works. If you end up not liking the setup, it's very easy to recover to stock.
No, I really just want to get back to my 1.1.0 ... with Auto-Nooter 3.0... restore my apps... and then turn off Auto Updates.
Actually, my problem right now is that I cannot seem to flash back to stock at all!!
You could try this if you have not already.

If you already tried to install a stock rom over the mess that B & N made, all you may need to do is a wipe data/factory reset from ClockworkMod Recovery. That might clear up some boot issues for you.

Is there a confirmed method to prevent auto updating? <Link please?>
Look for the Pre-rooted 1.1 upgrade and flash that. I am not sure if it blocks automatic update.
This worked!!!

So far so good. No OTA and I've been on autonootered 1.1.0 since before the 1.2 update, and WiFi always on for the past couple of weeks.

[Q] Restoring the original recovery/rom?

Hi,
several week ago, I rooted, S-OFF and installed a CM 7 rom through ROM Manager, I asked to the ROM Manager to create a backup.
But there is several thing that I'm missing on the CM rom, and I would like to restore my original ROM, since there is an available 2.3.x ROM available officially for my desire hd.
So, I restored my backup, I get prompted if I want to download and install the new version which is available. I accept, download, and start the install
The problem is that, when the phone restart to install the android 2.3 official rom, the phone seems to block, I see only an droid with a warning sign.
What did I miss?
So I was thinking that maybe the problem is the ClockMod recovery? If yes, how can I restore the default one? If not, what should I do?
Thank you very much!

So what do you want: to restore you ROM or to update with Ginger OTA? I'm afraid that both of them aren't possible.
I wanted to restore, because like this I will have the original ROM, and then I will receive the notification from HTC for the update.
I found a solution, I installed this release and I made all update that I got asked for and now I've android 2.3.3 and htc sense 2.1

Tell a noob how to get GB on a root

On stock rom only Z4 rooted - .07p radio and .340
How can i get to the offical GB?
Also is there anything i can do to backup my apps and settings so i don't have to redownload and reset every app?
There are currently a ton of posts with these instructions. Search next time.
Anyways. Go to the following link and follow the 2 part instruction and it will work perfect and will still be rooted.

Is there a method for people that don't have custom ROM managers, like Clockwork recovery? All I ever did was root my phone so I could run Titanium backup. I never installed Clockwork or any other custom ROM's... however, the 2.3 update is failing for me.
I am having the same problem. I defrosted all the apps and unrooted the phone but the update is still failing. Help!!!

Ginger Yoshi 1.2.1 fix - just stock apps and no market

Hi,
first I have to say sorry for writing in the general section, but i am new at this forum. so i can't post my problem into the ginger yoshi thread.
Here is my prob:
After rooting and flashing my htc magic 32b with the ginger yoshi 1.2.1 rom, I've installed the fix by using the same procedure like installing the rom. After installing the 1.2.1 fix my hole applications were gone. When i restore the backuped apps, i got the information that the apps are allready installed, but they weren't listed in the app overview. All in all the market wasn't visible just the ginger yoshi stock apps. So i installed the market app from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=869964. If i opened the market i got an error message, that I should try to open the app a little later again.
I flashed my magic like this twice. And i also wiped it. But after installing the fix I always get this kind of problem.
So what did I wrong? Was it a wrong way to apply the fix for that rom?
Sorry for my english and thanks for answers.
wipe with the new osaka wipe zip and try 1.2 without the fix first. if your problems persist, wipe and flash the fix zip. god luck, mine is running fine.

[Q] How to upgrade htc hd2 running android 2.2

A while back ago i followed this guys steps to hack my htc hd2 well now i want to upgrade to the besr firmware possible and later on cyanogen mod. But my first priority is to upgrade. I have android 2.2 and i flash it with mgldr DTF. Sorry if thats not correct im a noobie. Thanks for your help guys
So you did not install the system in CWM way.
Install Clockwork Mod on your phone so you can flash CWM Roms. Its backup and restore functions are handy and you are unlikely to lose data when updating the ROM. Check it out.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044830
If not using CWM right now, please install Titanium Backup to save your applications and system settings. However, going to a different ROM with old data, you may still have some issues.
