Call me an idiot, but what does this mean. I just flashed ICS and was trying to get back into recovery an got stuck in a bootloop. After pulling the battery and trying to manually boot into recovery, this is what I get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I know it's a terrible shot, but it's an exclamation point inside a triangle with a little droid below it. I'm assuming it has something to do with the battery after reading a few posts about battery problems. I'm hoping it's not because I will just scrap the phone instead of buying a new battery as I am going overseas for 4 years in a few months.
It's stock recovery. Press both volume buttons at the same time.

If you want to get into custom recovery with EncounterICS or MIUI-ICS, you have to press volume down during the boot process when the blue LED flashes at you
--- Edit ---
This has nothing whatsoever to do with your battery, so you're fine. You just ran across some less than educated forum posters, it would seem

I have been searching and can find no conclusive answer. I have tried to boot into recovery and when the screen comes up I select Recovery and it just takes me to the dreaded Triangle with red exclamation point. I have tried this time after time and even temp rooted and installed Rom Manager and selected flash Clockworkmod recovery and I received a selection for the MT4G and it then said Clockworkmod Recovery flashed. However when I try to do a back up it just goes to screen with device and triangle. After powering off, When I hold down the power button and volume down button I get the screen with different selections including recovery. When I select recovery it just goes to the screen with the device and the triangle. I only have 3 days left on buyers remorse and I will not keep a device that is this difficult or impossible to boot into recovery. As I am sure it is obvious that I am quite a nubie but I am trying to learn and increase my abilities. I have a Vibrant that I have rooted and flashed numerous roms on and while not an expert I am gaining confidence in working with the device.l Not so with the MT4G lease any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I am looking for positive signs to keep this phone and not send it back.

At the screen with the red triangle press VOL UP and POWER.
I had the same problem with my phone. I am guessing this you are rooted and S =off. Now when u flashed the clockwork recovery first time, it probally did not stick. So u need to go back into rom manager again and click on flash clockwork recovery. hopefully this time it will stick. This is what i had to do and it worked for me. Then bootup back into recovery and see if it works.

thanks so much for your kind reply. I did this and it did offer me another menu which included apply udate ziip wipe data wipe cache, factory reset and reboot now. At the bottom of the screen there was the following message:
E:cannot open /cache/recovery/command
I have never seen that error message before. I am not rooted and have only used temp root with Visionary. I used the reboot now and it worked. I was hoping to find a backuip and restore choice. But it is not there.A little afraid to try any of the other choices. On the second try i t took me about 3 minutes of playing around with volume up and power to get the screen again. Is this normal for this device? If so then I am quite sure I am going to return it on Friday. This phone has a lot of wonderful features and is a great solid all around phone but I am looking for something I can play around with and learn without a huge chance of major problems.Perhaps this phone is more for more experienced and knowledgeable and courageous users. I have a Nexus one that I have flashed roms using update.zip method that I am comfortable with and I am fairly familiar with Odin on my Vibrant and have flashed numerous roms with it but have never used adb although I have it set up on my computer. Both other phones are rooted using the one click root. Any further info is certainly warmly appreciated.
I am hoping for some help on this. I have searched all the forums, and I've been at this for hours now, so I didn't just come on to complain without trying. I hope there is a kind soul that could give me some advice.
I was flashing the new cyanogenmod nightly. I had the previous one from the 23 and it worked great, but I had recently switched back to my stock recovery to make sure which I really liked better. I used TWRP and goo manager exactly like I did the previous time. It reset, the little blue words saying booting to recovery mode came up and then it turned off. Nothing.
I look online and I ended up taking out the battery and then pressing power, center and volume up. This makes the samsung logo come up with the booting for recovery for like a second. Then it just go back to nothing. I have done this around a dozen times now. Can anyone give me any advice on what the heck I should do now?
Let go of the power button as soon as it vibrates but continue to hold volume up and it should go into recovery, also try to get into download mode and odin back to stock.
odin to stock and start over. I've also heared that if you're on stock recovery, kies might be able to boot you out of the loop.
I'm stuck on a bootloop on the Samsung custom screen and I can't get into recovery mode. I'm not exactly sure what happened because my it's my brothers phone he says he was clearing his cache. I looked around on the forums to see what to do but I got even more confused. I'm using a Mac, so would it be a bigger problem to fix it? If this was a waste of time and this was already posted before with an answer, feel free to delete it. Thank you.
**EDIT**
I just got it into recovery mode, any help is wanted, thank you.
Is the phone stock? Is it rooted? I have no idea what recovery (stock or custom) you're running. Need more details
Are you trying the 3 button combo to get into recovery?
Hold power +home+vol up. When the blue text in the upper corner shows, release power and continue to hold home+vol up.

I apologize already if this has already been posted before, I couldn't see one that had my issues so I'm making this thread.
OK, so here is my problem and everything that I can think of that I've done to my phone.
Today I tried to restart my phone as it was getting a bit sluggish. When I did it started booting fine then the animation sound stopped while the droid eye was being put together. Now my phone will not pass the droid eye during the boot phase. I press the power and both volume buttons and after a few seconds it starts itself back up again. I do the power button and down volume buttons and it still does the same thing. I've even performed the factory reset twice and it still won't help.... And no matter what I do it keeps booting itself back up on its own.
What I've done to my phone:
I am rooted but never got the boot loader unlocked since i waited too long and the last update wouldn't allow the boot loader unlock methods anymore. I have used titanium backup app to delete some system apps for example the Verizon football one, slacker radio, and any of those useless apps that I never use. I haven't deleted anything lately and have restarted my phone many times since. I have been delaying the recent update hitting no or not now, whatever it says. I thought that I said no today on the system update as well. Even then my phone was working before I restarted it.
PLEASE I hope that there is something that I can do to fix my phone because I'm forced to use my LG Vortex again and my upgrade isn't for another year..... I don't want to buy a new one since this phone has been great and I'm almost certain that if there was a way to reinstal or flash the droid razr m OS that that would fix my issues.
Thanks in advance for your input and please know that I'm a novice with this kind of thing so you will have to explain the process to me. If i have instructions I can definitely follow them.
THANKS!
You Factory Reset a couple of times, so that tells me you know how to get into recovery. See if you can get back into recovery and try clearing cache/dalvik too. I think you can still do that from stock recovery.
If that doesn't work and your battery is good, you can fastboot to recover it. If your battery was low when you started this, charge it prior to fastbooting. Just hold down the power button until the phone shuts off and plug into a WALL charger until it's charged. If the battery is good, you can grab the firmware from here http://sbf.droid-developers.org/phone.php?device=8 (use the second one from the bottom, .3, if you flash the last one you will not be able to gain root) and flash in RSD. Another choice is to use House of Moto to recover: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/28162-house-of-moto-20/ .
OK, so I deleted the cashe and still a no go. For the second step of getting the .3 to regain root. would it be possible to get an even earlier version so I can unlock the boot loader? Also when you say flash in RSD, what is that? I know of the AP flash from the first menu, is that something inside of Recovery menu options?
Thanks for your help!
**UPDATE**
THANKS! I was able to eventually figure it out and used the last option that you said and my phone works! Now working on getting root back. Thanks again!! But I really would like to know if I could do the same thing but with an earlier version to unlock the bootloader.
Droid Razr starting up issue
Hi guys, I am facing a weird issue with my Droid Razr and hoping pros to help me sort this out and get my phone running.
I am using Droid Razr but since last one week it is not starting up. Let me elaborate, currently it is switched off and not getting up. While starting it pass through M logo but can't go ahead for startup animation (droid eye animation). Even after leaving on that animation for entire day, it is not going ahead of that.
However, if I connect it to a wall charger (while it is off) it shows battery getting charged. It is taking a usual timing of 90 minutes for full charge.
I have important pictures and data into phone memory is there any way to recover it.
I would appreciate if you can guide me to get my phone up and running as usual.

I have a wifi only tab 4 10" with custom recovery and rom that's bootlooping. Was running lineage os. Seemed stable for a long time, but now flashes the Samsung logo boot screen, a few messages show up in the upper left corner real fast (not se android enforcing)(see pic), then it powers off and repeats. No button combos will let me into recovery. Only flashes the screen and errors for a split second, between power cycling off and back on, nonstop, until the battery drains
Any solutions? It's been so long since i rooted this thing, idk even know where to start.

Download the stock ROM with frija ( you can find it on xda ) and flash it via Odin,
if the device starts again, you can start from zero and flash TWRP, LineageOS, ...
If it's still dead, it maybe is an hadware fault because of an broken eMMC.
Thanks.
I figured I'd have to dust off Odin. Hopefully I still have the rooting resources in the archives so I don't have to actually start from square 1
It's been bricked for about a year now, setting in the old-tech drawer. I can't remember if I was messing with something and broke it, or if it took a crap all by itself. In the back of my mind, I wanna say it was my own tinkering that was the cause, but idk.
Fingers crossed it's not the emmc. Of course, it's pretty old and slow, and the battery is about shot. Wouldn't be a huge loss if it's toast.
Guess I'll find out soon enough
Thanks again
