I have an Alltel Milestone X and it is CDMA (same as Verizon Droid X). I took the OTA update which was Gingerbread 2.3.5. I lost root and wifi tether so I tried to go back to Froyo. This bricked my phone until I found a copy of nTelos 2.3.5 online. I used RSD Lite to put the nTelos 2.3.5 SBF onto my phone. I was able to get the phone up and going, however, it has the nTelos radio and I lost data. Does anyone have a copy of Alltel's 2.3.5 or does anyone know of a fix? Help is greatly appreciated.

I have another Milestone X on the Alltel network. I downloaded the 2.3.5 OTA update zip file and saved it on my computer. I tried rebooting in recovery and loading the zip file---the phone aborts the installation. I tried renaming the zip file as "update.zip," rebooting in recovery, and installing the zip file---the phone aborts the installation.
Does anyone have any suggestions that may help?

Hey all, I'm trying to restore my G1 to stock. I've already flashed the dreamimg.nbh file to restore to stock 1.0, but I'm trying to get to 1.5 & all of the update file links are coming up with a dead end. Does anyone have the link to the signed update to get the G1 to 1.5? (Preferably the US version)

I have an unlocked, unbranded, unrooted wildfire. It has not been offered the OTA froyo update and I am attempted upgrading manually. I have looked widely and found much often conflicting information.
My latest attempt is to download a zip using the fota script.
1) download the zip using fota and rename update.zip
2) place in the root of the sd card on the phone
3) boot to hboot, select recovery and then update.zip in sdcard
Result is a status 7 error. The messages start with a /cache/recover command missing error, lots of getopts and then the status 7.
Firmware on the phone is 1.16.772.1
File from fota:
OTA_Buzz_Froyo_H3G_ITA_2.40.772.1-1.16.772.1_C_release_170512gvqemp3ei800u0v4.zip
I would prefer not to root this phone since it is still under warranty, but if I have to I will. Is there an easy way to get froyo on this phone? can someone point me to the instructions?

Ive never used a RUU .zip file
most RUU`s are .exe files and run from the PC via usb cable

my understanding is that there are two types of update. The RUU updates are an installation wrapper around an update.zip designed to run on windows. As you say they use a USB link to the phone from a PC. The other update is used over the air and just consists of the update.zip.
Since I have limited access to windows I chose to use the second method.

Your firmware version is 1.16 right.
First try an ruu of your region with firmware version greater than 1.16 and less than 2.x . This is the eclair update.
Once done successfully, then you can go with froyo ota or WWE froyo ruu. Here I recommend WWE froyo ruu because of its hboot 1.01.0001 which works perfectly with alpharevx.

I have modded hero to 7.1 cyanogen. Got latest Clockwork mod. Phone ESN is set within Alltel mainframe. Go to activate by dialing *228 but no dial pad comes up to hit 1 to activate. So I have downloaded Alltel RUU ROM but no luck in running this. Have Darch recovery. I have extracted .exe using universal extractor and then re zipped to set as a ROM.zip file to try to boot to, but no luck. Basically my MIN is my old number but since I sold I need to change to new number for customer but cant since cant activate or find any information rechanging MIN within cyanogen 7.1. So im basically stuck with a phone that I cant activate, unroot to regular Alltel ROM, change MIN, or whatever else is keeping me from getting this phone active for person who purchased this phone from me. Any help or info trails greatly appreciated. I have looked high and low for fixes. Have been through the file not signed, verification failed route but got past that with toggle from latest CWM. Unfortunately dont have recovery ROM as I paid someone else to get to be able run other ROMs. Thanks for any and all help.
Replaced with Droid Milestone X/Droid X - Alltel still.
Need to be on a sense 2.1 rom to activate a heroc. Flash one, preferably an nfx rom, activate and them flash back to cm7.

I installed the gingerbread 2.3.4 usa and then i wanted to install the cyanogen9 but it crash on M logo. So i flashed my phone with rdslite and put froyo 2.2 another time. But this time i can't root my phone. I try z4root and superoneclick but nothing it always fail. I try a lot of wipe and flash but it always fail. What to do now?? I'm very sad because i can't install 2.3.4 ... Please help me...Thanks! :good:

I got one Droid Pro EU version from my friend, he tried to flash phone with this SBF file: VRZ_XT610_4.6.8_user_signed_1FF.sbf because he had some boot loop problem. He is a little bit crazy and dont know to much about flashing phones and "IT" at all. I dont know why he even tried to flash... But after flash his phone cant boot, there is this error in Bootloader (v. 03.0C):

Before flash he had in the phone 2.3.3 CM7. Boot to recovery is not possible.
Any idea what version of SBF should I try to flash for fix it? Or is it even fixable?
And what about the "VRZ" in the name of SBF. Isnt it shortcut for "Verizon"?

(I found on web some another cases, bricked Droid Pro, and this SBF helps them).
Phone is running, so tomorrow will be continuing. (Checking of GSM, root and flash of CM7). I hope other problems will not occur.
