I'm trying to flash the OTA with CWM, and the assert
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "wingray" ||
getprop("ro.build.product") == "wingray");
failed. I suspect that's caused by "stingray" here and there in /default.prop and other places in CWM.
I have flashed the original boot partition and I have checked all the asserts for patches, and I'm sure that they would not fail with "applypatch -c".
So is there any "wingray" version of CWM? So I can flash it and then maybe I can flash the OTA?

Currently sitting in the same boat. I have a US Wifi Only Xoom sitting on HTK75D. I did have a custom kernel Installed which i removed my installing "update_US-Xoom-WiFi-3.2.1-HTK75D_stachre_v02.zip" which just installed the factory boot.img that removed the custom Tiamat kernel. Once there I attempted to install the OTA and receive your same Build.Prop Issue. I first attempted with CWR and then proceeded to Install the Tiamat Recovery that is available on http://www.droid-life.com/2012/01/1...eam-sandwich-we-have-a-flashable-zip-for-you/ and still in the same boat.
Hope we can figure this out and get some tasty ICS soon.
Subscribed b/c I have the same problem, though I had the stock kernel. Also had problems getting it to boot into the CWM recovery vs the stock recovery, but when I'd get it into CWM, this is the error I'd get.
Same here. And my Xoom was stock. I've never tried any mods until now.

Finally I gave up CWM and went to stock recovery.
I grabbed stock rom from
developer.motorola.com/products/software
"Build HWI69 for US Retail"
, extracted recovery.img,
and flashed recovery in fastboot mode to it.
Then I flashed the OTA in stock recovery and then flashed back CWM recovery...
Now it seems to work fine... I've gained root access again by flash su-install.zip...

Did you use OTG or SD card for flashing the ICS OTA? Or maybe something more exotic you can share with us...
Nothing new, just OTG, sorry...
since you are using CWM recovery you can modify the OTA package without worrying the signature issue.
so,
1) extract the zip package to a folder.
2) open META-INF/com/google/android/
3) use any text editor you have to edit the updater-script file.
4) remove the assert statement
5) repack the folder into a zip package
then flash it with CWM recovery, and it will probably work

I didn't see the link to v.1029 but I did see it over at tegratabs. Also you mention in the post over there that flash does not work? does that mean the flash apk from the folio does not work with this build... that would keep me from installing from the 1106 update...
And lastly just to echo so many others, Thanks for your hard work on tracking this stuff down and packaging it up... you have really helped make an unusable device quite awesome.

Sorry, that is from early on when we did not have the flash apk. Maybe I'll add that to a new build if I get a chance. I have been working on getting the next version of zpad which should have flash stock.
You can definitely use flash on zpad if you add it yourself.
Do I need to flash .01 thru .03 and the 1106 or just .03 and the 1106?
Also over at tegra.com board there is a very easy way to flash clockwork onto this badboy, it is the last post in the clockwork thread posted by photonmedia
I think if you use the v.1029 update.zip it has everything... otherwise I did the .3 and then the 1106.. and then just copied the flash apk and ran it to install it.
I am very happy with this so far... very stable
@Rothnic ,
is the v.1029 the same as 1106 update?

what are you flashing from ?
are you using cwm?
Yes I'm CWM 8, I'm using the install from sdcard then choose update.zip, I choose the one I want. Then it says "assert failed: package_extract_file("boot.img", "/tmp/boot.img")
Error in sdcard/update.zip

It sounds like something is messed up with either the update or clockwork. I'd try reapplying clockwork recovery and redownloading the update.zip.

v.1029 is a total package of v.1029 boot.img plus system.img. Zpad Clean 0.3 is just a cleaned up version of this total package.
I only have the 1106 boot.img at the moment that still works with the v.1029 system.img. I am working on getting the whole 1106 firmware.
One option you can do is take the 1106 boot.img and paste it into the update.zip for v.1029 Zpad Clean 0.3.

hopefully here someone can help me out, anyone got a link to that specific task manager, i cant seem to find it on the market?
Wipe Data/Cache
I'm sure this is obvious to many of you, but what exactly is meant by "you must wipe data/cache"? What specific action do I need to take -- is there a menu option in recovery mode or is this something I need to do from the Settings menu in the TapNTap interface?

in clockworkmod recovery these are things you do before flashing a new rom.
Got it now, don't know what was going on with it going on my computer to tablet. I just downloaded straight to tablet and moved the zip to the root of the internal sdcard and it worked. Also has anyone ran benchmark with this rom cause I did and its not very good 525. Anymore possible tweaks/lag fix coming?

i think that has to do with the drivers being young - the tegra2 hardware is really new. the only other rom that is "fast" is cyanogenmod and i don't think it will bench much higher.

That shouldn't be a quadrant score. Those tend to be in the 1800+ range.
1106
Sorry for the Noob question but how exactly to I "flash" the 1106 boot.img file? I've successfully installed the v.03 update and everything's fine except the time/date resets on reboot. Just can't seem to figure out how to do the next step
Also, has anyone tried the Subsonic app? Can't get it to work on this version although it did work on TnT Lite. It's the best app I've seen so far for streaming music from my home server, both home and away on all our devices (iTouch, DX, and now Gtab.)
I do appreciate the hard work everyone on these forums has provided with customizing this tab and helping with problems. Man this tablet would be 100x better if some of the folks on this forum and the tegra forum were involved in getting this tab developed. Here's hoping that Viewsonic provides us with a decent firmware update.

Strictly follow the method given below otherwise u will get bootloop and mounting system before flashing is must
Guys those who want to have navigation button on cm9 rom can use the flashable zip which I modified.
I find many people who are asking for navigation button on ics rom and even I love them because I don't need to press those hard buttons now.
I used the framework-res of latest beta 4 cm9 from by lupohirp and I think u can use it on any cm9 rom but never forget to make backuP
buttons are modded ics blue colour instead of grey
download flashable zip from the attachment attached at the end of this post
How to use -
Read it carefully,,
1. Go into recovery
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Mount system(mounts menu)
4. Flash it
5. Reboot(just got a minute and it booted)
Btw!
####Do Not Use Root Explorer!!!####
####Mount System Before Flashing!!!####
Or else BOOTLOOP!
Now keyboard also fits properly without changing LCD density thanks to lupohirp and arjen for their awesum work
I also changed navigation button height to 36.0 do to make it look good on our phones 3.2 inch screen
Here are few shots

If u want to turn hardware buttons light off than use gscript app and save and run this stack programme
#!/system/bin/sh
echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/pmic-leds/leds/button-backlight/brightness
chmod 0 /sys/devices/platform/pmic-leds/leds/button-backlight/brightness
Market does not seem to be compatible with gscript app so here is link
www.mediafire.com/?6zvlxf86ajxb6xc
I have to download whole rom again to test it for u and tried doing it in various ways and sorry for inconvenience caused to you so guys please [COLOR="lime"][COLOR="lime"][COLOR=... TEST TEST[/COLOR][/COLOR][/COLOR]and give feedback

First install lupohirp cm9 rom

Flash the rom with new framework

If it doesn't run like crap, it's working. PB is just regular ICS hardware acceleration but more efficient. Basically, if it runs as well as Aurora, it's probably working.

I think the problem is really insuficient space in system partition (we have 220mb, but the rom, unzipped has more than that, I think the solution is just delete useless apk's and it should work. Will test that)
---------- Post added at 09:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:21 PM ----------
Confirmed, it works if you do a cleanup of useless things, like bootanimation, useless apk's etc.

I have the repartitioned space as well, I did it because I needed the space to install Google Now on Aurora ICS. I never changed it back, since we never use the internal sd and that space is now available to install apps.
Hello everyone, so I developed a small application called Desktop Flasher. All you need to do is drag the zip you want to flash and it'll automatically push it to your phone, write the appropriate script, and reboot you into recovery, and perform the flashing procedure. I hope to add new features (wireless support) as time goes on. Try it out and tell me what you think

FAQ
I get a failed to push script/or during the first run program it can't detect my device in recovery mode!
You probably don't have the drivers installed for adb in recovery mode. It's easy though! Follow this quick guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1379875
Okay, so the program says "Great your Phone will do the rest" and my phone reboots into recovery, but nothing happens...wth??
Most likely the issue is that you're using a recovery that doesn't support openrecoveryscripting. (The official version of CWM and TWRP do)

Yes, just make sure USB debugging is on, and your drivers are already installed.
will it work with a Galaxy Note
Custom Rom and cwm
I made a few themes and had always to copy over the zips and flash them via phone
so I would be really happy if it will work on my device

Cool. Yeah this should work on any device, I and any recovery with Openscript available (TWRP and CWM). I haven't tested cwm but I can confirm that it works on TWRP.

Alright, I think I figured it out. Does the location you're dropping from or the zip itself happen to have any "spaces" in the name? E.X. D:\documents\my rom\rom.zip
the zip definitely not,
but I look at folder on pc tomorrow,
now it's off already
will report then

Alright Cool.
Released a new update, it'll fix possible flash errors in recovery.
jup, it was the spaces in the zip :good:
but now it shows: Failed to push Script
the files are copied to phone correctly

Okay, I just released an update that'll fix it. To update the program just open it, then hit the exit button, and it'll update. The problem was with some devices you can't push to /cache unless you're in recovery. When I'm running sense it works fine, but whenever I switch to AOSP, I would run into that issue. Fixed now
I used the new one v1.1
sorry, I just saw there's a 1.2
will try it again

I just tried it with the new 1.2,
but unfortunately it booted into recovery without doing anything else,
it´s like I would boot into recovery manually
then after a few seconds it pops up again: Failed to push Script :crying: :crying: :crying:

Hmmm...alright. Lol thanks for being my only dignified tester haha. Okay, can you do me a favor. Download the zip I attached to this post, and run the recovery.bat file. (It'll reboot your device into recovery and attempt to push a file to your cache after a 25 second delay) and can you tell me the output. (Whether it pushes or gives a permission error) Thanks.
no problem m8,
I'm lucky to test a tool which helps me later
I'll test it later, bcs I have to watch a horror movie right now,

Couple of questions.
1. There isnt written anywhere that the device should be in xyz state!
i mean is it okay if i'm playing music and flashing file together?
2. does this tool allow to flash multiple zip files?

1.
xyz is not referred to device state!
flash_xyz.zip
xyz can be =
kernel
cwm
bootloader
or radio
So You can flash while doing everything You want!
2. No
Next update maybe I will include a flash all script
Sorry, I'm a chemistry and i like to use notations and define variables XD
I mean You can choose between 4 scripts before flash something because You can't flash more than one .img

yes multiple .img file cant be flashed simultaneously but it could be flashed sequentially.
I mean if i flash 2 files kernel1.zip and kernel2.zip, it should flash kernel1.zip first and consequently kernel2.zip (obviously both zip file will contain only 1 .img file so sequential flashing wont cause any damage .)
i just thought that if i drag and drop 2 different zip files into same flash_xyz.zip will it flash both!
anyways,
Are you planning to create a script which could allow user to flash custom flashable zip files (like fonts, ringtones and portable apps)?
and after one zip (say flash_kernel.zip) is flashed, a reboot is needed..right?

No... the original script will flash the .img inside the flash_kernel.zip
You should create a script to do this with the istructions to flash sequentially, or add Flash_Kernel1.zip, Flash_Kernel2:zip etc etc and
Flash_Kernel1.meta
Code:
